Good not great 3/5
Several features I would request: Apple Watch support with complications and charge status. More statistics in app. Did I mention Apple Watch??
Nice app. Needs to support iPhone X screen and reservations. 3/5
By A Fazel
Nice app. Needs to support iPhone X screen and reservations would be a great addition.
Great app! 5/5
This is great for keeping track of actually charging costs for my car and separation from home power costs. This app also allows me to see when the car is pulling power to heat the battery overnight, when it's cold outside.
Great app. Love it.
Can’t connect to Internet 1/5
The current version of my app can’t connect to the internet. It’s frustrating because I can’t track my charging status
Better then you’re leading ev charging app 4/5
Honestly I just got my car about 3 weeks ago a did virtually no Reserch before hand on charging ports I now this one one of the first apps I downloaded and I have to say compared to others this one is the best the only downsides I can see to the app/company would be the card cost $5 & some times the map isn’t as accurate as it should be but really what is these days.
Good points of the app house a pretty good map out of charge points you can start and stop charging from this app and it works for the most part pay the $5 and get a card to just in case ( like if you’re ever charging you’re car in a parking garage that’s underground you need at least one bar for it to pick up a connection from you’re phone and that’s why having the card also is crucial!!! Good app and it’s free!
Great App & Network of Chargers 5/5
By Still Hoping
I have been using the App for two weeks and it does everything I need I think. Easy to use and understand. Great to find charging stations and the network is very good, hope it gets bigger faster but already meets my needs. Also in my home area all but one site is free. Keep up the good work and show retail locations the advantages of offering free charging. For example I usually buy things while I am waiting for a charge! I really need to break that habit, lol. Can't wait for future features whatever they may be.
Doesn’t even work. 1/5
The app used to show charging stations. Now all it does is demand a credit card. Nice upgrade, guys.
Awesome app!!! 5/5
Best charging app !!!
Simple and easy to use! 5/5
Very easy to use, recommended!
I love this app it tells you everything you can think of if someone take charger off your car what you at 75% charge 90 % charged when it done if your not at the car. Very cool must get
Must buy this app
By Olathe Moe
Absolutely the best!
Tap-to-Charge is The Best 5/5
The new Tap-to-Charge is the best feature by far!
Doesnt allow to charge unless you are a member 1/5
Doesnt allow to charge unless you are a member
You need to create an account, fill up your account and then its easy.BUT Charging stations have no information on this!!!!! No sign nothing! Actually their machines are misleading they have wireless card readers that have mastercard visa and amex signs but you cabt really use them with that terminal, you need to fill up you accoint via website or app using visa amex etc...
I dont know what buttheads are sitting in their marketing...
I can always count on you all to recharge my leaf. ChargePoint is available along all my routes to work, shopping and play. Your customer service staffers are always professional and knowledgeable.
I was on he wait list for a charger that said it was available. Once I reached it the charger timed out. When I called support they said I could only try to join the waitlist again. Now I have no way home except to charge for 4 hours once I’m out of work. I would not recommend it at all. If you are considering an electric vehicle turn back!
Using phone instead the cards 4/5
Using Wallet works like a charm.
Being able to simply use my own iPhone is great. The cards were annoying and flakey and the fob cards were a pain as I never take the keys out of my pocket but the phone is in my hand!
One idea for full 5 stars: be able to use the app and NFC to identify the stations being ICEd or having hardware issues.
It is convenient 5/5
So far, I like the features of this app. I don't need to check the available charging lots by going down the stairs
Misleading app 1/5
Misleading app. it shows location but when you get there and its either occupied or broken. I would not write this review if it would happen just ones, but it’s has been several time in the last 4 month. when I called to the phone number, that is located on the card, I’ve been told that it is the “owners” of those charging stations, who is responsible for that “inconvenience”. But when you arrive to the charging station and you see that it’s been occupied and this app still showing that it’s “available” ... that’s just wrong.
It works well but tech support not so much 3/5
By Rock of Aging
I have a ChargePoint Charger at home and I utilize this app with it and it works quite well and it gives some great information on cost and energy, however, I had an issue with the app from a map standpoint and finding charging points on the map. When I called in tech support simply told me my GPS was not working properly even though it worked fine with other apps. I finally reloaded the app and now it works fine. I don’t like it when tech-support passes the buck.
Apple wallet 5/5
Just used my Apple Watch to activate a chargepoint charger. Fantastic!
NFC update integration not working 3/5
The set it up link was not present in the app. So I tried to setup my card again thinking that would fix it. Deleting a card permanently deactivated the card which the app doesn't warn you about. Now I'm out $5 to replace the card and have to play Where's Waldo in the map to turn on chargers.
NFC isn't working 1/5
Apple Watch beeps with the charge point card selected and watch next to the station, but station does not do anything nor release cable.
Holding my 6s to the station does nothing as well with the charge point card open.
Love the Apple wallet support! 5/5
Thanks for adding NFC support.
I have been hoping for NFC style ChargePoint cards for years and it’s finally here. Makes it a breeze not to have to use an object in my wallet or car someplace and just use my Apple Watch or iPhone to quickly start the charge instead. Also it automatically chooses the correct card so you don’t have to think about it. Very well implemented upgrade and totally awesome! Making EV charging quicker also helps it feel like added value to adopting this technology in our lives. Thanks for this upgrade!
Fraud? Charged $20 for a less $6 charge 1/5
By Lord Humongus
App charges you even when you don't charge your car by forcing your account to be at $10. First it charged me $10 to pay for a less than $6 charge. Then it charged me another $10 because my account balance was below $10. What a scam.
GREAT APP 5/5
I saw some of the bad reviews and now I'm totally convinced they are plants from competitors. This app is great and I love how easy it is to use. Yes, they can improve minor functions but it just works. We have another home charging unit from another brand on the other side of our 4 car garage and now wish we had 2 of these instead. I may end up selling the other to get another one if these ChargePoints! Great product, great app!
Love it 5/5
Very user friendly for a 58 year old guy who can't figure out remote at home 5/5
Start me up!
Works great! 5/5
Easy to use
Great App 5/5
Love the app seems to work great. I like the stats that it saves and that it lets you know when your car is fully charged!
first time EV 3/5
By slo bum
Good app but noticed not all stations are loaded in the map. Also, could not easily find where to leave a tip on the charge station.
Needs one more thing 4/5
Great app, only thing missing is the ability to plan long trips using the app. I'm getting a Chevrolet Bolt and I should be able to plan long trips but I currently can't
Great app - needs improvement 5/5
In general I really like this app. It's accurate and easy to use. I've used it all over the country and almost every time it's been spot on.
I have two recommendations though
1) Allow users to send pre-written messages to each other. This way if someone is waiting for a station to open up they can select a message from a drop down list to the person charging.
2) Search for chargers near specific POI. Like show me all hotels with charges within 0.5 miles walk, etc.
By Ramster Kewl
Wow wow wow that explanation Nsemo it all
Lots of false positives 2/5
This could be a great app but for two major frustrations.
First, there are too many stations marked as public that are actually only available for private use. This is super misleading and makes finding a truly available station much harder. When traveling it can cause a major pain if you were counting on that cluster of stations near that hotel.
Secondly, the app doesn't know about banks of related stations. They just appear as individual stations. This means if there is a useful tip left on a station you may not see it unless you check each one. Conceptually it seems it'd be easier for the user to know that there's a cluster of four spots of which 2 are currently available and pool the tips.
Love it 5/5
By D. DeBono
So easy to keep track. They give a month and each time you charge. Plus there are so many ChargePoint stations. 😁
Useful app for first time ev owners 4/5
I needed to charge my phev and didn't have the card. This app worked like magic ; I was able sign up and use my phone to enable charging. Sometimes I had issues when the app won't let me stop or start specially when I was using cellphone network with no wifi.
Thanks for offering such a great service! 5/5
This application is so easy to use for tracking the electricity charging of my new Smartcar. It reports the number of miles I can drive with the electricity I charge in a minute.
Hard to use 3/5
I can not find the option to waitlist on the app as it was advertised. Tried to reach out to customer service but no response.
Love it. 5/5
Wish I would've known sooner.
Essential Charging Companion 5/5
By Mr. 88CET
Great for finding charging stations on the map, including current availability, and for tracking your charging over time.
I especially like the option to notify you when a charging station at a particular location comes available.
Working smoothly 5/5
Station available notification is working as expectedly.
The must have EV app! 5/5
This app is great! It shows where charging stations are located (you can filter by port needed for your EV) and it tells you if they are in use. You can check your charging status, the price and hours. You can view popular times the stations are used, add tips, start a charge from your phone. You can connect your ChargePoint Home and it will send you reminders to plug in. The app works great - very user friendly.
Life saver app! 5/5
Easy and works ! Love it.
Functional, but slow and annoying 3/5
This app has only gotten worse over time. It works, but it isn't great. I frequently have to kill the app to get it to update. They don't listen to feature requests. It is a necessary evil for public charging, but avoid the home charger at all costs.
Great App!!! 5/5
I can find stations in crazy remote areas live how people leave tips as well. EV is the future!!
Slooooow response 2/5
This is a great app but performance in speed is absolutely the worst IOS app I have ever used.
Mixed feelings 4/5
For DTLA user: all charging stations are in the expensive parking garages with daily parking rate of $30 and up. Or monthly parking rate of $300 and up. In addition, charging fee for electric vehicles ranging from $3-$5 for most vehicles. If charging at USC campus, pay $12 for parking then may get free charge. Overall, the app is sufficient in finding charging stations. But parking fee is high. After owning my first electric vehicle, I'm not certain it be fuel efficient or more economical than driving a gasoline vehicle. I'm no longer a fan of electric vehicle when I pay soooooooo much to charge.
Lots of room for improvement. 2/5
Weird that it can't tell you car's battery percentage, just kWh.
Can find more ChargePoint stations on PlugShare than via CP app for some reason.
Also - should have an Apple Watch app.
Seriously!! It needs an Apple Watch app!! Still!!
