Good but needs a little work 2/5
The original dragon hills is one of my all time fav iPhone games! I was so excited when I saw this was released, but it does need some tweaks...
1. iPhone X support is needed ASAP. It looks tiny and it doesn’t even fill the screen top to bottom because the new iPhone X “home button bar” is always displayed throughout gameplay.
2. The dragon doesn’t move nearly as fast as it did in part 1. There are too many obstacles constantly slowing down the speed.
3. The bosses are a bit frustrating. Of course they should be a bit difficult but you never really get enough speed to engage them. You can’t get to the boss until the boss kind of slows down.
4. The constant toxic waste pools (lava pools in part 1) are a bit too difficult to navigate compared with part 1 which again slows the pace.
5. How are you ever supposed to beat boss 5?! It’s too difficult for that stage of the game because you never even get enough coins to increase speed etc enough to beat him.
I really wanted to give this game 5 stars because part 1 is like 10 stars! But I guess there’s plenty of time for improvements. Thanks for the new game!
Fun core, sloppy details 3/5
The basic experience is fun enough, but in the long term all your low-level upgrades become serious penalties (you want to un-buy everything but the good stuff), the grind becomes extensive, the level-up mechanism stops making sense after you change worlds, etc. There are just too many small frustrations.
I’m hooked. Glad to meet you. 5 stats
Potential for more 3/5
It has the potential to be as good or better then the first, but the boss fights are slow and take too long that it really degrades the experience.
Almost a great game 4/5
Beware. It takes about 5 hours of gameplay before the game becomes enjoyable
(1) bosses have so much health, it takes forever to kill them. It’s a bit boring, takes an even amount of luck and skill and It makes the game not nearly as mobile friendly
(2) one of the bass grinding abilities (ie abilities you have to max before you can really play the game) is speed. The speed at lvl 1 is painfully slow. About as slow as the worm dragon in the first game. It’s bad game design to start the game incredibly boring and force players to grind out of the bore
Zany Good Fun 5/5
Left a glowing review of this game, the review disappeared, so I'm done putting any time into them just to have some glitch with iOS ruin my efforts.
It’s not perfect but we need more games like this 4/5
I really love this game. It does feel really slow at first but the more you play it, the more it speeds up. On thing, I’m using an iPhone X, would love to see an update to make it work with the bigger screen better! Love the music in it! I actually turn off my podcast to listen to it! Absolutely love it, totally addicted. I’m sitting here playing this instead of my switch!!!! I really love to see a developer who isn’t dipping into micro transactions which I completely avoid. Thank you!!!!
Disappointed too 1/5
By Old ft
Liked the first one. Was excited to see this one. But, like so many others have said, the difficulty is high, and the reward is low. I can see it’s going to take a major grind to get anywhere. I want to have fun, not grind. Sadly, deleted.
Dragonhills 2 2/5
Great game! Needs improvement on iPad mini 3 does not run smooth at all!!!! Other wise for me would be 5star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️game, very fun!
The first one was better, because it was fast-paced and smooth. The environments here are extremely noisy (they look great, but there’s too much going on). Hiding power-ups inside boxes really discourages you from trying to go to fast... which really slows everything down. If you spend your time bobbing to build speed, you’re going to miss a lot of upgrades, and the faster you go, the more you miss. I think “slow” really is the best way to describe the game. The boss battles are a bit like playing Mario Kart at 150cc’s — no matter how fast you get your slow dragon going, enemies magically stay out of reach 90% of the time. Even with speed boost activated, bosses manage to stay out of reach. Also, at least in the first two worlds, when you beat a boss THE GAME STOPS. Whyyyyyyyy?!? Part of mastering the first Dragon Hills was seeing how many boss waves you could get through! I had such high hopes for this game. It looks beautiful, and there are some cool ideas here... but if you loved the first on as much I did, then you will likely find yourself frustrated and a little sad. Hopefully they’ll iron out the kinks, because right now it feels like the developer kinda failed to identify what was fun about the original.
Improvement on first game in every way 5/5
I was big fan of first game. Played it to something like level 200. This is such an improvement. While the first was basically the same level (and boss) over and over again, this game has outstanding variety. In environments, mobs, bosses, and upgrades.
I'm not sure what people complaining about the difficulty are talking about. It's harder than the first one, but far from a difficult game. You will have to fight some bosses multiple times while you save for upgrades, but it's fun while you do, and you will eventually take them down.
I've faced maybe 15 bosses so far. Most I beat in 1-5 tries, while a few of the harder ones took 10-15 tries. And it's incredibly rewarding when you do beat the harder ones.
Support premium gems like this. Everything a sequel should be.
Needs improvement 1/5
It’s a decent game, but hard to fully enjoy playing due to how slow paced it seems comprares to the original. The dragon feels like the game moves at a crawl even with maxed speed, and the boss battles just seem tedious. That, and there seem to be a few glitches that make the game harder, such as the fact that half of the time the guns don’t even hit their target (unlike DH1 where it was always a hit if you were close enough with the sword), power ups don’t take effect if they hit a peripheral area like the tail, but somehow enemies hit the tail and it still deals full damage. Some of the non-boss enemies seem to deal a ridiculous amount of damage too, even more than the bosses in some cases.
Good game 4/5
So far I like it
Great game 5/5
It’s fun and challenging at the same time
Bonkers Difficulty 3/5
+5 stars for being a solid upgrade from the first game. -2 stars for the insanely uneven difficulty. I can understand the acid damage hits (as lava was an insta-kill in the first game), but single attacks that can shave off half an upgraded health bar? Add that to bosses that have waaay too much health and ridiculous attacks, and it doesn’t work. You need a few invincibility frames after normal attacks, and boss durability needs to be cut in half at least. I’m at level 40-something in the first game, I know how to play it, it shouldn’t take 20 attempts to kill the level 6 boss! Fun if you like grinding your way to victory, but this game needs some serious rebalancing.
Fun game that’s addicting 5/5
This game is addictive and very fun to play yes there are some little things that can get annoying like the not big but not small customizing things to the game.
I love this game! 5/5
I love this game ever since the first one came out I loved it then the second came out and I loved it even more! Thank you hope more updates come out soon!
No level 7 boss??? 3/5
Confused. I'm on boss 7 and there is no boss? It does the boss title sequence and then it's just and unlimited free runner basically. Anyone else having that problem. Besides that very fun game will give 5 stars when fixed.
Not fun 1/5
Frustratingly difficult. Not fun at all.
So much grinding 1/5
By Jamel Oku
Répétitive as hell. Loved the first one but that’s not fresh enough.
Increíble juego 5/5
Unos de los mejores juegos pero necesita mas actualizaciones y mejoras
Whoo hoo! Fun & yet zen 5/5
Really enjoyed the 1st game (which I got free) was happy to pay for this one. Simple but enjoyable and requires some thinking and skill. The graphics are a bit small to fully appreciate on a phone screen, looking forward to seeing more detail on my iPad.
Hard, frustrating, but fun 3/5
Yes, this is a fun game to play. Nice graphics. However, the game is a little too difficult to the extent that it makes you quit playing out of frustration. And it takes quite a while to gain coins to buy upgrades that seem to have little to no effect on game play. Please add in app purchases so that we can buy coins.
Awesome game 5/5
My grandson and Zieger love playing this game. It is more challenging than the first one, but lots of fun.
Fun game. 5/5
By Truly objective
Challenging at first till you get use to it. I'm a boss. Bow down.
More "kick" then Dragon Hills One 5/5
By Raptor lover
As with the original Dragon Hills game play is very easy and addicting. Dragon Hills 2 requires more of a strategic play. This is a safe buy and you will enjoy this game.
It has a lot of what made the first game fun, but with some very frustrating changes:
-Expect a LOT of grinding before you can survive fights.
-Hitboxes are not clear. It may look like you didn't touch the lake of acid, but you die instantly anyway.
-Bosses take forever to die.
-You will get hit multiple times in a row from the same obstacle, even dying instantly at full health.
This game feels like it's designed to massively frustrate you into paying to get ahead...but there is no pay-to-win option. Yet.
Great developer 5/5
This developer never fails to deliver outstanding arcade action. DH2 is a blast to play and like their other titles keeps me playing and having fun.
Been a fan since day one 5/5
All I can say is that this game truly has surpassed my expectations as I have played it so far, not to mention I had been playing the first game since launch so great job devs, and keep up the good work!
Addicting with the right degree of difficulty 5/5
Just as good as the last game!
Super fun game! Love this one even more than the first! Thanks for the good times, keep it up!
Worth It! 5/5
Great first game.
Even better Sequel!!!
