Love this app. Great content and lovely design 5/5

Awesome D&D goodness
Content is key 4/5
I am always looking for ideas and this app brings up them to me
Still has an annoying glitch 3/5
By Limp Richard
I would love to give this five stars, and I eventually will--once they fix the stupid glitch where occasionally, the back issues of the ezine suddenly disappear and I have to redownload them. As for the content, it's good, sometimes great, and I do check to see if any news comes out most days. The ezine, like the old print magazine, varies from issue to issue, with its current incarnation leaning more on product promotion than on complementing your tabletop game, but there are some nice surprises too--the fiction offerings are certainly superior now to the old TSR days!
Almost there! 4/5
Please make entering the article menu at bottom of screen a double tap. Im always bringing up the menu accidentally when simply trying to scroll through the article. Also after clicking on an external link and then trying to get back to the article i was reading, i instead get sent back to the Dragon+ main menu where you select an issue. It would be nice to be taken back to the exact page i was on.
Just opened the app for the first time in a while and it immediately crashes. I'm on 10.3.2 on a 6; do you think updating will solve it?
Great content 5/5
Fantastic content - well written, with lots of maps to download. And free!!
A really bad app I'm afraid 1/5
It's basically just a container that grabs content (issues of the magazine, social media posts, Tumblr articles, etc.) from the web. the most frustrating thing is that as I'm in the app trying to read said content, the app is telling me that there's a better way to read the content which is to download the Dragon+ app. This doesn't just happen once. It happens pretty much with everything you try to read.
I finally got into an article posted on Tumblr that had some maps to download. I clicked on a map and was brought to a large iPad screen sized image. I wanted to go back to the original page and so I clicked on a back arrow that I assumed would bring back to the page but instead brought me to an entirely different page (the first screen/page when you launch the app) where Issue 1 started to download. I could tell that because of the obnoxious "Downloading" animation that took over and rendered the app unusable. My internet speed isn't that great (up to 5mbps)and the download took about about 10 minutes.
It's just a mess. The content is good but the app is not.
Very nice 5/5
Well polished app can't wait to see the D&D beyond app!
Downloads don't work 1/5
By Got bored
For an app that is just a magazine, having failed download code is pretty much a total failure. Download stops when app isn't the focus... don't open anything else, don't let the screen saver kick in, and sometimes it just fails anyway.
No, I didn't say "pause". If the download paused and resumed when the app got the focus again that wouldn't be so bad. No... it starts OVER. So you have to babysit the app and turn off the built in screen saver or keep tapping the screen to coax this poor little app along.
I kept trying to download the "second most recent" issue. I get it that slow network or wifi isn't the app's fault. Dealing with slow network poorly, however, is. I finally decided to help this thing through and see if we could get a successful download. And when it would get to the end it would fail. And then I could try to start it all over again.
So I deleted the app. And then when I went to the App Store it showed "update" for your app. So somehow it didn't even "delete" properly? I have never seen an app fail like this. This is pretty spectacular.
I figured I might as well reinstall, since who knows of this thing is taking up space or not. It wasn't showing up in the system settings. I suppose it could be an O/S problem, but it's suspicious that all these weird things are happening with one app. Maybe it was a bad install the first time around?
It reinstalled and managed to download successfully after that.
But all this just reiterates... don't build an app for something that should just be available from a web browser. It is a waste of space on my phone. And it doesn't look good when your app doesn't interact with the O/S properly. Focus on your content.
Doesn't work. 1/5
I downloaded this app and it worked the first time it opened. However, in the past several weeks it stopped working.
No longer works 1/5
Hasn't worked for awhile. It would be nice if this problem would be fixed.
Love this app!
Great Content 4/5
The magazine is great, the App less, so navigation is not really intuitive or "native" on an iPad and it does not do background downloads. But hey, Dragon magazine for free!
Crash Prone 1/5
App went from crash prone to 100% unusable with latest issues. Convinced the GIF content is the issue. Hope the publisher rectifies this ASAP.
It's great! 5/5
I love the app and all the information it has to offer.
Not even close... 2/5
When I first downloaded the app several months ago, it worked reasonably well. But not any more. I don't know if it's the content or the app but it consistently crashes. I haven't been able to download and read any of the last three issues. Tonight I deleted the app and reinstalled. No change. Same. Same. Crash. Crash.
Great app: when it works 3/5
I really enjoy the magazine when I'm able to read it. The new issue refuses to load at all. App crashes with each attempt. ☹️
With the latest patch resolving the crashing issue, the app is back. 5 Stars!
Good App 5/5
I like the content. Pretty good app and it's free. No problems with it.
The Crashing issue seems to be fixed.
How do you screw up this badly? 1/5
Every issue comes with a new update that crashes until a week before the nene the issue. You guys expect us to pay for the beyond app subscription, and can't get this POS working consistently? How about you stop trying to figure out movie marketing strategies and firing staffers, maybe hire one nerd to fix your app?
Crashing after update. 1/5
The new battery saving feature that closes the app as soon as you open it is working perfectly. Unfortunately it also prevents me from using the app anymore. Maybe we could remove that feature from future updates? Thanks.
I like this app 4/5
By Toxic Ace
Although, I currently am unable to open it, as it keeps crashing at the splash screen.
New update just crashes 3/5
I like the app in general, but it won't even open right now. IPhone 7, latest IOS.
No longer opens 1/5
By Jack Gulick
Prior version Locked up on open, this version simply crashes immediately. Still doesn't function.
Instant crash 1/5
Updated the app and it crashed instantly on my iPhone 7. It was slow before but now it just doesn't work.
Stopped working 1/5
I'm getting the "check your internet connection" error as well. Update with latest patch it refuses to launch
What happened? 3/5
I used to love reading the magazines and other articles but for a while now I have not been able to launch the app successfully. When I try to open it, the app tells me to check my internet connection. My connection is fine. What's wrong with the app? Same thing that the previous reviewer is having trouble with. Fix it please.
Great app, great content 5/5
By Chris from LA
I was also having the "loading...can't log in" issue but like someone else recommended I deleted the app and reinstalled and it's working great again! Thank you! So glad that worked.
The app itself is fantastic and the magazine is wonderful. Really great content. Thanks to the entire team for putting this together! It really is appreciated! I love it. :)
Excellent D&D Resource 5/5
I love this app. It is filled to the brim with interesting articles, many of which provide DM's/players with ideas and lore to improve their campaigns. I especially enjoy the Fiction articles, as a DM. There really is no reason not to download this if you're at all interested in D&D.
Needs fixed 5/5
Stopped working recently. Throws an error complaining about no internet connection, though I do have a working wifi connection.
*UPDATE*: It's working now. After I uninstalled the app and then reinstalled, the error went away.
Fragged Mag 1/5
Upon load, it either states there's an internet connection (there isn't) or it fails to load articles and won't download magazines. A good app that's currently broken.
Great... when it opens 5/5
Lately gives pop up "Hold on a Second" then crashes....
Update......stopped crashing within past few days....
Good stuff! 5/5
Update: Thanks for the response. Problem was fixed by uninstalling and reinstalling. I'm back to DnD bliss!
I loved this app but it no longer launches on my iPad. Please fix!
Great but new update hates me 3/5
This app was great when I first got it, and has given me and my d&d crew tons of ideas. However ever since the last update (unsure if it was for this app, or apple, for I updated them within the same day) it "loads" for about a minute before saying it can't connect to the internet. Despite the fact that my wifi is at full and all my other apps that require internet to function work perfectly. I have tried loading it at multiple locations, multiple times to no avail. It is just taking up space, and I cant even get to the previous issues that i downloaded
Fixed App Works Much Better 3/5
Updated Review: The issue has been corrected and the app launches and it is a lot zippier than before.
I still feel there is room for improvement with the user interface and with making the app more interactive. Additional content would be good, too. But, it is a good start.
Original Review: I enjoyed the content, though I found the app slow and a bit clunky. Then, just a couple days ago, it stopped working. It gives an error message, "Unable to launch." I tried deleting and reinstalling, but I get the same error message. I am not impressed with the poor execution. I went to the website directly using my browser and I had a much better experience than using this clunky/broken app.
A temporary glitch, but resolved 5/5
I previously posted a low rating due to a login glitch, but it was quickly resolved so I'm revisiting it. It's great to have access to this Dragon content again, and I no longer have any complaints!
Great App! 5/5
Every issue is teeming with content, the "Latest News" section is very handy, and the staff even takes the time to listen to reader feedback. All-around fantastic app.
Getting better with every issue 4/5
The first couple were wonky as they were getting a feel of what people wanted. Now it's getting better with maps and adventures they are including that are tied to the storyline.
Good stuff 4/5
Dnd news is always welcome in my life!
The legacy continues 4/5
By Rex Reginald
I got into D&D by reading my dad's old Dragon magazines, and I've always been sad that I got into the game too late to be a subscriber. While this app doesn't quite capture the quirky charm of those TSR publications, it definitely has the same spirit. They even took one of my submissions! That was a thrill. If you like D&D, this app is a no-brainier. Great work, Wizards!
Love this 5/5
I love this magazine and the plethora of content that is available for the low, low price of FREE!
Great Content, though App Freaks Out w/o Internet Connection 4/5
I really appreciate getting the new Dragon at no charge. The articles are pretty informative and entertaining. The navigation is pretty good and comparable to Texture and other magazine apps.
I am primarily reading on my wifi iPad Air. The app will panic and crash if I load it without an Internet connection, like for say waiting for my kids at Sportsball.
The magazine lives! 5/5
I absolutely loved dragon, and dungeon, magazine. I'm so happy to have them back in this app! Wotc is diligently listening to its fan base. Tag teamed with both the DungeonDelve and DragonTalk podcasts, Wotc is on point. 5 Stars.
Great Design and Content 4/5
The look and feel of this app is great and it seems a fantastic way of keeping up with everything that is going on in the world of Dungeons and Dragons. The magazine articles are both useful and informative to DMs and players alike and I love that you can keep up with news from the various D&D social feeds on the home page. That being said, the app does have a tendency to hang up occasionally or experience a delay processing screen taps. Looks like there's more work to be done to optimize the app itself, but what it does and how it does it is great!
Awesome App! 5/5
So much great information and it looks good too!
Free, and good content folks 5/5
Some truly great articles, hardly any (and no random) ads. The folks at D&D must be nice!
You're better than that... 1/5
Really unfortunate to see a measly attempt at an app. Thought yall were better than that.
UI is just fine as long as u get used to it. 5/5
By Payed user with fair outrage
I am pretty worried that some potential readers would just scroll away without looking at the "...but the content is wonderful " comments seeing the low score. The pop-up problem does not appear to me, instead, the UI design is pretty friendly to smartphone readers, while good looking.
Great Content, App Needs Work 3/5
First off, the actual magazine is very good. Fun interviews. Nice articles and stories. Access to some D&D adventure modules and related content. Special offers. One-stop access to the latest on the various Wizards D&D social feeds. All great.
It's the app itself that needs work. Most of the issues stem from the fact the app appears to be built on a cross-platform framework. It doesn't look or feel like an iOS native app. Scrolling can be less than smooth, albeit it has improved considerably since the 1.0. It also doesn't take advantage of a number of the latest iOS APIs and features like the latest Safari webviews. Swipe gestures also don't always work consistently, like swiping right to open the main side menu. That gesture works to navigate in some places, but definitely not the home menu screen. I'm also not a huge fan of the navigation overlay within the magazine issues.
These are just some of the issues. Overall, I'd recommend Wizards and the developers invest in making Dragon+ a more native iOS experience. I just hope it's in the (Tarroka) cards; my issues apply to most commercial magazine apps that use a cross-platform framework approach.
