Solid resource! 5/5
Thank you Red Cross.
Red Cross earthquake 1/5
No report on Mexico !!!!! 09/19
Terrible app 1/5
By Captain Kraken
Just went through an earthquake and this app 15 min later is still saying all is well. It was not major but twitter and many other apps already reported the quake location and intensity. This app has yet to report it. Useless!
Was a good app 2/5
By Ritchie Rich
Used to work fairly well but last several versions don't send me alerts even though my settings are correct. It also frequently crashes. Check alternative earthquake apps - theres many.
Bad App, Bad Organization 1/5
Bad app steals my my time, just like they steal supplies from churches and hamburgers from volunteers.
Used to be better. Now there are pin icons representing earthquakes when there used to be circles with size and color indicating size. I will delete the app.
Not useful 1/5
I wanted an app that would tell me if that was an earthquake I just felt, but updates are delayed too much and it's faster for me to check the USGS site. Also, I have a fairly large region because I want to know if there's a if enough one originating 40 miles away that I might feel...but it keeps telling me about little ones. Tell me about just the big ones far away, but smaller ones close by. I want to know what I might actually have felt!
App failed 1/5
Just had an earthquake less than a mile from my location and received no notification. Useless.
Just had an earthquake in MT & app wouldn't open and has failed to locate internet connection. Will delete and try to reload but I don't hold out hope.
Can't add new alerts and haven't received any alerts 1/5
Since the latest update, I cannot add new alerts. Stopped receiving alerts at the same time. Needs a lot of updates.
Keeps crashing 1/5
By Still useless
I haven't been getting notifications so I tried to get i to the app to adjust locations to see if that helped but the app crashed. Can't even get into it to send a report.
American Red Cross 5/5
This app is great! To those of you who say it's bad because of the quizzes, have your kid take them. I think this is a excellent app!
Lots of useful information 5/5
Essential app for those in earthquake prone areas.
My husband was at home this morning and called me and two minutes later I got the notice from the app you have to set a radius and be sure and click done when finished or it will not set
No longer works 1/5
Used to be a great app. Now if you attempt to set up warning for earthquake more than 0 miles radius, the app quits.
Gotta find a new app
They have ruined the app 1/5
By Craig Duck
This app used to be great. They have stripped down the interface to the point it is unusable and designed for the dumbest of people.
There needs to be an expert mode that brings up the important stuff like the earthquake list and shake maps on a zoomable map to limit or expand your search radius
I don't want or need the fluff like: Prepare and quizzes.
I want the old app back.
The maps used with this app need to be much better in order to track the storm in more detail. The current maps used do not show the towns or islands mentioned in the alerts given for the Philippines.
Great App. Very Useful 5/5
By OKC Customer
I like this app. I programmed it with family addresses in other city's and other states. As well as the address of my house and my job. Anytime there is an earthquake at any of those locations this app notifies me. And since I live in Oklahoma, the app is always going off because there is an earthquake just about once a day. Very good app, it does what it says and I like it.
Conceptually nice but still very buggy. 1/5
Still very buggy. I still cannot select the 250 miles radius without the app crashing. Though this was resolved in previous version.
Has gotten worse over time 1/5
Have used the app for several years. I used to really like it. Seems to have significantly degraded over time with several updates. Not as user friendly and performance is pretty bad.
Data hog 2/5
By Ascendo User
Works okay but uses up a huge amount of data storage on my phone.
Earthquake App(Red Cross) 5/5
Very useful assistant for preparing for an earthquake!
Awesome App 5/5
People complaining about mag magnitude 0.2 being displayed all you need to do is go into the settings of the location you're monitoring and you can send it from 0.0 all way up to 10.0 and it only monitor anything above what you have it set at.
Not useful 1/5
We had a quake here in Cleveland County OK about 7:00 am this am (9/3/16). House shook, cabinet doors opened. It never happened according to this app.
Crashes when trying to make adjustments to radius. Previous version was ok. This one, not so much.
Super buggy 1/5
This version is very buggy and hasn't been monitoring locations, it's not allowing me to add locations or people either. Red Cross you can do better. If our donor dollars are paying for this app then you need to fire the company that did it.
Lacking the last few months 2/5
Used to be a great app. My favorite was that there were verbal earthquake alerts; that has since disappeared. Also, he last few months, my radius resets to 0, even after saving, so I get zero alerts. There are definitely some bugs that need fixed. Now when trying to adjust my radius the app crashes. I've deleted and reinstalled hoping something will be fixed. Either way, they need to take it back to how it was last year.
Adjust notifications 3/5
The app is ok - does what is needed. I wish there was a way to adjust when it sends me notifications. I live in Washington state where there are many earthquakes - often several a day. I don't need to know about earthquakes that measure 0.4, 0.6 on the scale. I think Seahawks fans can make bigger earthquakes than those! Would be great if I could adjust it to alert me only when earthquakes happen that are over 3 on the scale.
Used to be good 2/5
It used to be great, but after some upgrades it pretty much became useless because it does not repeat your settings, want to default to other things, etc. I am uninstalling this
Great update 5/5
This app is great for warning me of earthquakes and giving me the information to prep.
Works great. 4/5
Was able to easily add multiple locations and people where appropriate. Correctly identified/displayed a recent earthquake. The app works great!
I have dropped my rating to 1 star. I have everything set correctly but I don't receive badge notifications anymore. Seems the developers have gone backwards for improving the app.
If I have my radius and magnitude set it notifies me which is great. But there are a few problems since the update. It use to let me see details if I clicked on the alert but doesn't now. Also, it would show on the map where the epicenter was. Now it just shows the map of my monitored location.
It would be nice if the app synced monitored locations and notification settings. As it exist now I have to set up each device individually. Fix these issues and I'll give 5 stars.
Radius resets to 1 mile 1/5
Please fix the bug that was recently introduced that resets the notification radius to 1 mile as soon as the app is closed. This is the best earthquake notification app and is currently broken. I use this app to inform me of recent events. Please look into the issue and restore the awesome notification feature. Otherwise great app.
The app crashes…can't find internet connection 1/5
The app will not allow me to update radius setting on alerts. It exits the program.
The app will not allow me to remove locations because it cannot detect an Internet connection. Same when attempting to add a location.
Map Is Better (updated 5-Jun-2016) 3/5
By Mick Gator Fan
The map that showed where the recent earthquakes are is back!
It is still difficult to send Feedback or Report a Bug. You have to make a mark with your finger on a blank screen before you select "T" to enter real text - but no reason for this odd request is given. (I put a "?" or a "!".)
Locations incorrect. 1/5
My locations in the USA are pinpointed off the coast of Africa. They are listed correctly. 🙃
By Alaskan island
Will not bring up list or forward alerts to me. Tells me to check my internet connection when it's just fine. It was reliable but now I have to turn to another app.
It was my mistake, when I wanted to update this app. It takes me forever to see some information, and app is always crashing. Please, fix it.
Bad app 1/5
Crashes all the time. When I go in to review I notice my setting didn't stick and goes back to monitoring a 1 mile radius. I update again to expand the radius but it doesn't stick. Not sure what the issues are now since I didn't have these issues on my old phone.
Unable to add locations 1/5
By The Real Z
Can't add new locations. Existing locations changed to a 0 mile radius and crashes when I change it. It also will no longer track my location. The app is now useless.
Excellent for the price 4/5
By YW84HOTWATER REDYTEMPDOTCOM
App has never crashed on me. I wish it would allow for historical retention so that trends can be seen. San Andreas's fault line would be nice to track with this app. The wind, rain, etc are a nice touch by developer. Developer being Red Cross donators.
Radius resets to 1 Mile 1/5
Every time I leave the app, the radius resets to 1 mile.
Hate the new update it's useless!!! 1/5
By Another iPhone plus
A lot of good this update does when the radius keeps changing back to 1 mile!!! It does no me good!! Useless!!
iPhone 6+ 1/5
App changes the radius to zero and if you try to set it, it crashes.
A must for anyone with smartphone 5/5
By Fret Strummer
This app is very helpful in so many ways. A must have.
Hate the updated version 1/5
I absolutely hate the update! It never send me notifications, even though I have all the settings set correctly. It's not user friendly, It takes me forever to figure out how to change the magnitude setting. The old one was so much better.
This app went from one of my favorites to essentially unusable. I configure my settings and distance monitored, and the app continuously changes my distance settings back to 1 mile. Please fix it! :)
Was so much better previously 1/5
I used to use it often. It was intuitive. I hate the "update" it's worthwhile to remember the he old advice -- If it ain't broke - don't fix it! How about giving an option to re-download and re-install the previous version? I wish I had not updated it...
The idea was great... 1/5
Very glitchy and crashes often. Let's me add several locations then when I exit the app and come back I click on any of the locations and it doesn't fully load them...picture changes to generic clouds on all and mile radius is at 0 and when you click to change any of those settings, the app crashes. The only time I can change the radius is right after I create a new location. It won't remember radius setting I put in though if I leave the app. I decided to do a reinstall of the app and that only made it worse. Same issues plus now when trying to select "Current Location" it says "error bad request" like I said it was a great idea, but their app developer needs to give this project more attention.
