Can’t sign in via Google on app 1/5
The app isn’t optimized for iPhone X’s yet and you cannot sign in via your gmail account like you can through the web app. This is a problem because that is how I made my account and it’s rendering the iOS app useless for me

- I tried the app to find a hotel as close to an address as possible - its results are all over the place.
- The app will never tell you the hotel reserves the right to extract from your CC a deposit over the reservation and taxes.
- Couple minutes after I made my reservation, I got an email revealing a “secret hotel”, comparable to the hotel I already booked, but with a 50% discount. It seems that trying to find a reasonable hotel is somehow a mystery game for the people administering this app.
So, I unsubscribed, but I’m not given an option to provide my grievances, so I decided to post them here. Have fun with the mystery hotels and whatnot.

Hotels.com is easy to use but charges are much higher than if you book directly. I paid over $230 for a room my friend had the room next to me and paid $185. If you want convenance hotels.com is a good place to book.

I’m receiving to worst possible customer service I have ever received from a major company such as Hotels.com.

The app is very helpful to find hotels enroute, and to check my reservations. When any problem, the customer service rep has always been accommodating and figured out a solution. Getting a free room after 10 nights is an extra bonus!
Latest update—no longer can see my bookings 2/5

I travel a lot for business. This is first time I use hotel.com to book my business trip.
I stay 18days in Bellevue WA.
Hotels.com app show if you stay 10 days you get one night for free. That is why I choose this app.
But after my business trip I didn’t see my reward showing on my account. So I call customer services, and they told me I won’t get any rewards point if I use 10% discount code online!
Don’t make any sense!

I used hotels.com website for years on my phone and computer. First weekend of using the app I was in a poor cell phone coverage area tried to book a room and it said it had failed. Unfortunately when the app said it had failed it hadn’t and the room was booked. I didn’t know this so I selected a different hotel assuming it failed because someone else had gotten the last room. Customer service from the hotel and hotels.com were unwilling to help. Use caution with service and if they aren’t obligated to help you then they won’t! I will be using up my accumulated free nights then finding a more helpful service.

Total lack of transparency in prices, taxes and nightly rates 1/5
Updating to the new iPad app caused my bookings to go blank. No listings show up under Manage my Bookings anymore. On the iPhone app, if you choose to inspect the total amount of your booking, you’ll never see it. Hotels.com will deliberately try to dodge the total value from your eyes. Instead they will present you with an “average per night” value. You have to do the multiplication yourself if you want to find out what the total cost is going to be. Also, they will never show you a break up of the taxes or even the specific room rates for every night. If you need to change the reservation and reduce nights, you’ll never know the exact difference. Hotels.com claims it will be available only after the booking is complete, as a receipt, but I think this is a deliberate attempt to keep information from customers, just like how credit cards do when they advertise APRs.

The app works well enough for its designed purposes. However it is lacking the updated/modern feel that most apps now have. It still feels like iOS 7 when using this app.
Hopefully it will be given a refresher soon to make the app more modern and the UI a little more friendly to use.

This site presents the full gamut of hotels in price and quality.
Deals pop up weekly so always take a look at their emails if you have not booked yet.
The push notification counter will NOT go away. It shows 6 messages All. THE. TIME. I may uninstall it.

Why does this App show the WRONG check-in Date in the Bookings section, only to have correct information when you drill down to look at reservation details?

I have been a customer for several year. I just went to book a hotel and they tacked on an additional $20 per night fee (supposedly mandatory and charged by the hotel) that is not disclosed on the fee page for that hotel. I called the hotel and there is no such fee. Customer service from Hotels.com called the hotel twice and verified that the fee doesn’t exist but will not fix the problem in their system. It’s basically a bait and switch raising the price when you book. It will be my last booking on there site. I’m using my free night that I earned and I’m done with them. Be careful.

Get notifications and they will not go away - read them/delete them - does not matter the little red circle still says there are notifications.
In the space of 5 minutes the price on your site went up $9. From the time I looked until when I pushed book.. it went from $63 to $72. That really sucked and if I wasn’t in a bind.. I wouldn’t have booked here. I won’t use again.

Im literally sitting in my room crying. Booked this place cause my kids wanted to swim on their holiday. Hotel.com tried telling me its on their page, BUT ITS NOT that the pools been closed since NOVEMBER. Shame on hotels.com, you ruined my family vacation. And instead of finding us a new place, they wanted to charge me a extra night just to cancel. I NO LONGER RECOMMEND HOTEL.COM. And thats a shame cause Im 2 rooms away from a free night.

This is one of the best travel apps that I use. It's easy to book and there are always hotels in my budget and where I need to be.
Have used Hotels.com for all of my stays in different states at different times. I have never been disappointed or gotten a bad deal. Always check them and book through them. I love the book now pay at resort feature. Makes it easy to plan a future stat and know exactly what I’m having to pay. Thank you Hotels.com!!!
