Don’t do it 1/5
I am a fan of men’s Health but I downloaded this app and every year I have to cancel a subscription that I did sign up for. I am a big fan of the paper copies. Call me old fashioned. If you want to continuously have to call and cancel orders year after year be my guess and download this app.
Trouble trouble 2/5
Trying to read the content and all I’m seeing is the ads. The PDF seems to be working fine. What happen to the video content and interacting of the app it just seems to be just boring. I have been a subscription member for years and years. Please send out a update to fix this issue.
Huge Disappointment 1/5
I’ve been a MH subscriber almost continuously for the past 20+ years, and I’ve used the app to read e-versions of the magazines for the past several years. The current app is a mess. I can’t access my downloaded issues when I’m in Airplane Mode, which is exactly the time when I want to see the issues I’ve already downloaded. The default view should be PDF, so it’s like reading the actual magazine. I couldn’t log into my subscription for several days, and I got wildly different responses from Customer Service about how to remedy that problem. If MH doesn’t intend to support e-reading, then do away with the app and stop wasting our time.
Don’t waste your money! Don’t like the layout at all.
This app use to be nice.
Offline mode is terrible it often does not work. App has no way to visibly show you whether the full issue is downloaded. I read on my iPad often without wifi and offline mode is necessary. Design UI looks older and boring. I'm not sure if they did this to drive people back to print but it's clear no thought was put into this. PDF view is good if you don’t want to create a better UI at least make it so the PDF view is able to be saved for offline viewing.
What is this nonsense? 1/5
This app used to be awesome. Now it’s slow, ugly, and unintuitive. I only read the print version now because this beyond awful. So awful it defeats the convenience the app used to provide. I hope they fix this soon.
Cancelled My Subscription 1/5
By FS Brian
I give up. I cancelled my Men's Health subscription. Despite the horrible reviews, they have not changed the app. Maybe they will start to care about their company in the future.
Finally fixed 5/5
The issue with the app freezing and crashing seems to finally have been resolved. App works great now
Had the app last summer and bought a few issues. It was convenient and worked well.
Yesterday I went ahead and bought a subscription thinking it would be the same and have had all the same issues stated in these other reviews. Click on the issue and it opens extremely slow. After that it's won't do anything. Today I cancelled my subroutine since I had a 30 day free trial. I'll come back when they fix it. On to print copies now.
New version is Horrible! 1/5
I guess they wanted to go out of business as the new version is impossible to use. The version takes forever to load and it unusable. I wish I could comment on the content but since the "new version" came out I haven't been able to access it. Why not go back a version until you get it right! For example tapped to get an article and I the time it took me to update the iPhone version and type this review, it still hasn't loaded.
No stars, complete garbage 1/5
How to ruin a perfectly good magazine and customer satisfaction. Perfect example of what happens when you change things that don't need changing.
Is anyone there? 1/5
Where is the app support to fix these bugs? I have been trying to use this app for the past two weeks and it keeps freezing! Read the feedback and fix this app!
Glitch glitch glitch!!! 1/5
The worst app I've ever used, hands down. Hat good is an app that you cannot navigate because it's frozen 99% of the time. Give me my money back or send me hard copies of the magazine.
Completely unusable 1/5
This version does not work. It's horrible. This is the kind of work that should get someone fired.
Horrible Update 1/5
I usually don't complain about these things, but whatever format it went to BLOWS!! Uploads take a long time or app shuts down and resets to home page. Or it times out and goes to standby. Update back to the old version or fix!
Too many bugs!! 1/5
I hope men's health is reading these reviews!! It used to be my favorite app but the latest update is full of bugs - constantly crashing!! Please fix this!!!
Horrible Update 1/5
Freezes. Have no access to the subscription you pay for
I'm canceling and asking for a refund. Freezes up.
Non functioning app 1/5
It doesn't even work I've been trying to open the latest issue for fifteen minutes and crashes repeatedly or unable to turn page. Resorting to my paper copy!
Freezes up. Fails to load. Becomes non-responsive. Aside from that, it's really neat.
New Version is bad enough to cancel my 10 years of membership 1/5
By Patrick Baitman
Wow just wow.... update is horrible I don't even open it anymore. Glitchy, slow and a MAJOR step backwards. If it's not fixed when my yearly renewal comes up I will cancel. I've been a subscriber for so long it feels like part of me is missing, but the app is so poorly designed that I can't stand to use it.....
It was so much better before 1/5
This version has a text view that is pretty much useless. It has a clipping feature that let's you do things like selecting a portion of the screen to share or save, but it only lets you clip what is on the screen. It won't let you scroll at all, so if what you want to clip is below what is currently on screen you're out of luck.
You can save a page, but you have to log in through Facebook or email to do so.
I exclusively use the PDF mode because the magazine looks the same as the printed version that way. The text mode throws the magazine's layout in the trash and presents it like a crappy unformatted webpage article.
You can't use this app without internet in text mode either, because it downloads a page of content when you get to it, and dumps pages, so you can't go back to them.
The old app looked like the magazine, had some fun interactive features, and was a million times better.
A terrible update 1/5
The latest update to Men's Health not only deleted all of my downloaded issues, it removed my subscription. In addition it is slow, not overly intuitive appears to require an internet connection at all times and the interface is not very visually appealing. I also cannot figure out how to download issues for offline reading.
No downloading of entire issue? 1/5
Unable to download entire issues with new version is unacceptable.
So frustrating 1/5
What's a guy got to do to be able to get a good emag reading experience!? Don't you all need to sell subscriptions? The latest magazine is not even available and the "new update" is just horrible. Don't know why men's health and GQ are dropping the ball so bad. PLEASE FIX!!
Just terrible 1/5
This app continues to get worse. There's supposed to be a star to let you download an issue for offline reading except now it's gone and you have to save every article individually. It also looks terrible unless you hit the PDF view.
Use to be good 1/5
I use to love reading this magazine on my iPad before this new app update. It's suppose to get better not worse smh. If there is no new update to make it better, this is the last time I buy the annual subscription.
New version is terrible. 1/5
By Tremadke Music
New app is horrible. Please go back to the old format. Canceling my subscription.
By Tom Okeefe
I use to enjoy reading this publication on my iPad. With this update, I want to cancel my subscription. This has to be the worst UX. The whole point of making a native iPad app is to take full advantage of the OS and make it interactive. IMO mobile now seems like a afterthought. Good luck with print. Lol
Please go back to old version 1/5
This new version of digital is terrible. You either have to view the issue like a bunch of mini-websites or you have to look at the entire issue in PDF format which is not very easy to navigate. Just like the old version better.
The updated app is unbearable. 2/5
I've been reading men's health digitally for over two years and since the latest update it's pretty terrible. Reading offline is difficult, navigation is beyond frustrating. The previous incarnation of the app was a way better way to go.
Latest Release is Terrible 1/5
Every release improved the quality of reading until this latest one, completely removing the benefits of reading on an iPad and reverting to either a terrible RSS feed or a reading off a scanned page. Please revert to how the digital magazine used to be. I stopped my subscription because of this.
The app is bad!! 1/5
It use to be a great app and then something happened. Great content but the app is frustrating
Just terrible 1/5
First, other reviewers are right, they destroyed this app.
Second, and separately, they acknowledge a "bug" where for some SUBSCRIBERS it won't unlock issues and keeps telling you to buy them again.
This kind of incompetence must be punished by the market. Companies should fold, fortunes should be lost.
Just an embarrassment.
Ugly layout! 1/5
I don't understand why you are making the app version such an ugly layout! Just make it back to the original version! When I subscribe the magazine, I want it to look like a MAGAZINE! Not a collection of website-style pages!!!!!!
If you keep it this way, I will have to cancel my subscription next term, can't stand this ugly stuff.
Amazing how they're ignoring all the horrendous reviews. Almost no one has anything nice to say, and it's all true. This app doesn't even resemble the good, quality magazine that they have. They've destroyed it and hidden all the good content behind a useless, difficult to navigate interface. Fix it, or you'll be losing a lot more subscribers than me.
Hate the new app..... 1/5
I used to look forward to new issues but honestly I could care less after the release of the new app.
It's been months of complaints and nothing has been fixed.
I won't be renewing.
Love the clean mobile look 5/5
Way better then the old magazine layout stuff. Loving it still.
Good work out tips 5/5
My go to for at home workouts
I have an iPad subscription that I hadn't looked at for 2-3 months. I don't know exactly when they updated the app, but it's just...awful. I cancelled immediately. I have a few months left and I'll see if they change the app to something resembling the former app. But if not, forget it.
thank you 1/5
... for the feedback. i was gonna purchase this, but based on the reviews, i'll keep my money.
Uhhh, What is this poor excuse of a magazine app! 1/5
By The Mahzer
Not going to bother going on a rant about this extremely subpar app. All other reviewers before me said it all. TERRIBLE!!!!!!
App did not work for yearly subscription 1/5
App did not work for yearly subscription, so had to cancel through Apple. I wish Men's Health fixes this app because I don't want paper if I can read in my app.
I agree that the update isn't great. Doesn't keep my spot. I wish they would go back to the old setup.
La nueva forma de ver la revista es lo peor, lamentó que mi suscripción se renovará automáticamente.
No creo que escuchen los reclamos de la gente pero al menos sirve para que nadie más cometa el error de suscribirse a esta revista.
Farewell Men's Health 1/5
I thought that, several months later, you would have fixed this awful thing you call an app. Alas, it continues to freeze, doesn't allow me to save as pdf, and has none of the visual elegance of the old 'magazine' layout. I've just downloaded(?) my last issue -- after several good years, farewell Men's Health.
Terrible - Updated Feb 2017 1/5
Still no improvements or option to roll back to a version of the app I paid for. I don't normally write reviews but this update is just awful. All my saved articles are gone and now I'm stuck reading a PDF version of the print issue that has less functionally than the previous version.
As of February 2017 I have cancelled my subscription. Really wish I could refund my money or roll back to the previous app.
Gone completely downhill 1/5
By Downgraded app
The application has gone completely downhill since last November. It went from a very user friendly, visually appealing app to an almost Microsoft word like appearance. All of user interactive options are basically gone. MH, please fix these UI/UX issues. I just resubscribed and now completely regret my decision.
Unforgivable Ripoff 1/5
Cannot save old issues: "pdf's cannot be saved"
And older issues are no longer interactive.
Way to go making sure your dwindling customer base gets even smaller.
Less and less useful 2/5
As they evolve this app, they have made it less easy to use/navigate. Considering just cancelling the whole thing.
