So, so at best 2/5
By Crash & Burn App
Very little content available and hard to select stories to read
Downloads are incompetent. The worst! 1/5
This is an update. Downloads are more reliable but still take a long time during which you can't do anything else wIth your iPad. Why can't the downloads happen in background once you have started them?
Also--- the Read and Archive buttons continue to be less then a finger-width apart. Way too easy to hit the wrong one and accidentally delete your hard earned issue. Really stupid design.
Please move the buttons far apart-- maybe even on opposite sides of the magazine cover image!!
I have several iPad magazine subscriptions and none of them have the download problems of New York. The last several issues, the download takes forever, during which time you really can't use your iPad. And after an interminable download you get an error message telling you the download is corrupt. So you have to start again! And again. And again. I have skipped recent issues because I could never get a clean download. How is it other magazines not only allow easy download but also allow you to start reading before the download is finished?
Well Informed Intelligent Articles 5/5
With so much going on, it is difficult to keep up with all the news. However, reading articles in New York Magazine gives you a good summary and intelligent overview of whatever issue is being discussed.
NY Mag 5/5
Great content and layout!
Took over a minute to download just 25% of an issue. Forget it!
Great mag 5/5
Justifies my iPhone's existence
Great to have on train 5/5
Good to have something interesting to read on train
Useful, insightful 5/5
Love the app. Love the magazine. Great.

Love it 5/5
By Abq shadow
I enjoy this magazine a great deal. Its fun and informative and colorful and unique.
Horrible login 1/5
Awful login. It diminishes the quality of The New Yorker.
Zero stars 1/5
It's great to read news from different sources and angles that's how most smart people are informed.
But I must say this so called news outlet has no fair or intelligent stories.
I understand that most news outlets are paid for but this outlet has made their intentions clear, which mean focus from a small group in NYC disregarding any input from the rest of the country that obviously disagreed with you based on the the last general election results.
But please continue to write stories for an elect few that still do not understand that the power and control of this country ignores you. Please vote
Great magazine and app 5/5
Read it every day.

Like the title says...
Portrait-only app wastes landscape mode possibilities 3/5
By Big Time Writer Guy
It's bizarre that any media app today fails to adapt from portrait to landscape mode, but New York Magazine's app is just like that-- there is no landscape mode, making it awkward to use on an iPad with a landscape-mode stand.
Love it! 5/5
By Patient Eddy
Really easy to use. Great content, as ever.
Needs landscape support on iPad 3/5
I often have my iPad in a stand on my desk, and most things work better in landscape (including having charging cable plugged in). This is probably the only news/magazine app I have that doesn't support landscape.
Also it should keep reading position in respective issues.
Great Magazine & App 5/5
By Allen Buck
I wouldn't think of NY Mag as having a big newsroom but they've actually broken some big news stories, and covered a wide gamut of the country so I'm impressed. The app is also really easy and simple and I appreciate it allows me to archive and find issues easily to help save storage space.
Great magazine, one huge problem 2/5
I love this magazine and have been a loyal subscriber for years. This app drives me nuts though and has finally driven me to write my first app review ever. The app looks great, but it has one huge problem: it doesn't save where you are in an article if you close the app. I read this on my subway commute, so I go back and forth to read articles a little at a time. The app never saves where I am, even if I only close the app for a few minutes. It's so annoying to go through the whole process of finding where I left off and scrolling through paragraphs until I find where I last was. The New Yorker app saves exactly where you are no matter how long you have the app closed, so I know this is possible! If this app could save places it would be perfect. Please stop adding a frustrating inconvenience to New Yorkers' already hellish commutes. Thank you!
good app 5/5
better than most apps that are linked with magazines....good for my frank rich fix

Great magazine and app 5/5
Jonathan Chait and the political writers are worth the price of admission.
Always interesting articles to read 5/5
One of my favorite magazines - and I don't even live in New York.
Check in regularly 5/5
Great writing. Keep this in my news feed. Jonathan Chait is must reading.
Excellent magazine 5/5
I always look forward to read the New York magazine... It satisfies my liberal curiosity.
Love this app 1/5
I love this app, easy to manipulate.
The app is just fine but... 1/5
......it is no more than a portal for fake news, self-serving cultural supremacist propaganda, Cultural Marxists and reprobate anti-Christian bigots and their quislings.
NYM is no more than a biased idiot box shilling for the jaded globalist, democrat in name only shadow government, a ministry of disinformation so sinister and void of objectivity and ethics that the FCC should yank their license. RT is a more credible news source than the faux "news" of NYM.
Beware the statist/democrat/establishment media complex.
Beware The Enemy Within.
Always A Great Read 5/5
By Nameless TAC
I love NYMagazine. It's right up there with the NYTimes for a quick read (especially re: trendy topics) & certainly a whole lot cheaper. Started my print subscription in the Seventies & never looked back... M. Calabia
Works now! 5/5
They fixed their download problem, good!
Great app. Easy to use have not had any issues with crashing!
I love New York Magazine, the articles are great and the layout is awesome. I love being to read current news stories from the websites. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is because the app will not remember your spot in an article. So in long articles, you either have to read it all at once, or remember your spot. Please fix and I'll rate 5 starts instantly!!
Always great. 5/5
Insightfully Topical! 5/5
By Joanne D
Both daily news feature, as well as, the magazine included. Long time subscriber, app works great!
New York Magazine 4/5
By D. Hill
This is a well designed and useful application to both subscribers and non-subscribers of New York magazine. Subscribers can use the app to read full magazine issues and non subscribers can read daily news stories that cover all subjects that the publication does such as culture, film, fashion, politics as well as feature stories. Non subscribers who want a little more can go to the included store to purchase individual issues. The app is easy to use and allows users to not only read stories but share them through e-mail ,Twitter and Facebook.
Spectacular app! 5/5
I wish most magazines had apps half as good. It is the only magazine that I subscribe to that I prefer to read on the app. They really take advantage of the possibilities that digital media and the Internet offer to add to the print edition. Plus, it looks great.
Great app for a great magazine 5/5
By John Meeks, Jr.
I love this app
Needs landscape mode! 3/5
Let's get one thing straight: NY Mag is the best thing ever, and I love everything about them. I get the print magazine at home.
I mostly use the app on my iPad, when I'm traveling, and mostly for the news, and it's faster than using the website on iOS.
Here's the problem - you can't use the app in landscape mode, only portrait. This is fine, but get's annoying if you want to keep it in the case and read.
Hard workers 5/5
NY mag is terrific
THE one. 5/5
Best news and culture magazine being published today. Great website with lots of additional news. Digitally, the magazine "reads", as if it's in your lap. No "tech distance". Subscription price? An absolute STEAL. GET this digi-mag. Now. K?
New York Magazine 5/5

It's a favorite place to keep up with what's happening in my favorite home town. It's also a well balanced and up to date writing of what's going on in the world -- open minded, unbiased and factual.
