App Monitor 1/5
I admit that this app is very interesting when fans or non fans show respect to each other. The problem is to many jerks. But that said, the monitor is locking out the wrong people. Did you ever hear of free speech?
Paid Subscription AND ADs? Not cool. 1/5
By Jason The Robert
This app is great but they host Uber ads that are little games that pop up all of a sudden and force you to wait ~5 secs in order to close. They are extremely annoying and an insult once you realize you're paying for the app. I'd rate the app 4-5 stars if it weren't for these ads as they've improved it over time and it's far less buggy than it was some time ago. I have patience but not for greed.
Must have 5/5
A must have app for any true Fins fan. Interesting stories and perspectives. Great reading for anyone who bleeds the colors and can't get enough information.
No Audio 3/5
The iPad app has no audio and can not hear anything when watching any of the video clips.
A good idea gone bad 1/5
I was expecting this app to work ..most of the time it doesn't have any new Dolphins news -no updates...nobody is maintaining this app ...it is old ...I think it is an experiment for the Miami herald...they have no idea how to manage this app technology ...
Here come the ads... 2/5
This app used to be a great way to get news on my team, being that I live in California. But now with ads that pop up, it becomes annoying. If I'm already paying for the subscription, I shouldn't have to maneuver through ads as well.
Cannot connect to Internet 2/5
A curious problem I've found in recent times with this app is that it won't access the Internet unless I'm on wifi. I've checked all the settings and it is allowed to use cellular data under both the cellular settings tab and the apps settings tab. Yet, it never finds the Internet using cell data. This has caused me to use the app considerably less than I would wish and has taken what was a very good app and made it perfectly useless.
Don't is too light! 2/5
Is there a reason why, in the main body of the the story, that the font is so light it's hard to read?
The headline is bold but that's it!
Why have an App? 1/5
By Fish tv
Why have an app if you are going to restrict the number of times you can view the content? Are the ad revenues not enough to support the app? Really disappointed in the Herald.
Not bad 3/5
I'm not happy about having to pay .99 a month but not a whole lot in life is free. At least it works better then the official Dolphins app, that's proof that free isn't always better.
By Dolphins fan 1
I've has this app for forever and now I have to pay money for it. Thanks a lot
It's a sad day 1/5
I've been using this app for two years now, now all if a sudden I am asked to subscribe and pay a dollar a month. That's crazy, how can you offer a free app then say well now if you want to read you have to pay. I will be deleting this once great app for dolphin news from my phone.
Ads? Really? 1/5
I've been paying a dollar a month for this app for nearly 2 years. If not longer. Now you're putting ads in it? I shouldn't pay for an app if you're going to advertise all over it.
What the hell!! 2/5
I have been getting this app for free for the longest time! Now all of a sudden I have to pay for it!! Isn't this app free? It is great for up to date dolphins news but now that I have been using it for 2 years, now I have to pay for it! What the hell!!!
New look looks good, functionality not there 1/5
New look looks good, functionality not there. The timeline for the comments is not in any order. Comments appear randomly. Works like the Dolphins play. Poorly.
Good resource for herald dolphin news 3/5
This is a decent app to keep up with the phins, especially if you live outside FL. If you like the Miami herald writers then you like the content. Updates are fairly timely. New version looks a lot better and is easier to read.
Cons: no notifications option when new items are posted.
The layout change means you have to pull down a menu every time you want to go to a different section(dolphin news vs nfl news vs blogs, etc.). Having a menu ribbon like earlier version would be better.
Overall, pretty good.
Had this app for over a year to get all my dolphin info without getting charged and now it's gonna charge me each month?? Wth! Love the Phins but come on man.
Good until... 2/5
You started charging.
Fee? Really? 1/5
I have had this app for 2 seasons now went through 2 iPhones with it. And now you want to charge me $1 a month? I can see if this was an amazing app that showed live games or even a play by play interface. But no thank you. Let me know when you wise up and maybe I'll come back.
$1.00 a month... No way 1/5
By Fun & free
I was willing to pay a few dollars for the year long subscription but it isn't worth $12 a year. I will go elsewhere.
Where, O Where Has HD Gone? 1/5
This WAS a much-needed app for us Dolphins Fans. News, stats, etc. that we're all interested in.
STILL waiting for the iPad version. You know, hi-res, HD, big screen - whatever you want to call it.
Non-iPad format = EPIC FAIL.
[EDIT: Cancelled my subscription. Friggin tired of reading iphone-sized, low-res crap on my iPad.]
[EDIT II: Hey, a 'bug fix'! They're still working on it, YET NO HD. Keep failing, guys]
Past history reporting 1/5
College football talk com reports his blog quicker than he does. How many reports during draft. None. Seriously how slow can one be.
Stop the vacation and work!!!!!
Save your money 1/5
Was very good when it was free.. Now a fee.. No way!! Download sports talk it's free...
Not worth it 1/5
Tried it, it is not kept up to date. Not worth a subscription.
Bait and switch 1/5
Paid the one time fee last year, now The Herald wants more money for content you can get anywhere.
By The DoodooBeast
They can bite me with this subscription charge.
Already bought this once, won't do it again. Dolfans, save your cash and read Salguero's blog on the Herald site; that's all this app was good for anyway.
Update now crashes 1/5
By Big Peewee
About 5 days ago this no longer loads.
Rip Off! 1/5
I paid for this app last year and now they change it to a monthly charge! No wonder these papers are going out of business. Pure stupidity!
Bad deal 1/5
Sorry, not going to pay for this. Should be free period. At the very least it should be free to Miami Herald paid subscribers. You dropped the ball (pun intended)
Worse that last year 1/5
By Dave 911
Last year the app was a one time fee and Armando actually blogged relevant materiel. Now he has a radio show and this app doesn't get much attention anymore. Don't bother with it.
Can't Even Open 1/5
I enjoyed the updated version during the free trial (but it needs more video clips and not just some beat writer against a boring backdrop). Then I bought it...and now it keeps crashing when I try to open it.
Free? I don't think so 1/5
Nice app until the 30 days run out, then you need to purchase a subscription and it has ads. I bought this app last yr and this yr after updating I am forced to subscribe at almost double the price, it should not be listed as free. I won't pay twice.
By pompano mark
I liked the but not worth a monthly fee. I maybe willing to pay a small fee annually for the app but thats about it. Time to remove and move on.
Idiots f'd it up 1/5
Latest update crashes constantly.
Nice one 8-/
No longer needed 1/5
I loved the 09 app!!! Don't want to pay for the 10 app. Sorry, u lost me guys. Uninstalling it now.
It is so stupid that you have to buy a subscription! I love this app and I love the dolphins and I will probably spend the $5 but I think that it is dumb to have to pay for this. Other than that I love this app.
By rob banks
Had the 09 version. It was great. Used it daily but now 5 dollars a year which I still would've payed but it said I didn't have a valid 'sandbox' account when i tried. Im not doing extra work for an app I've already bought. The Dolphins have an official app that's free. I'll be checking it daily now. Go Fins!
Rip off!!! 1/5
There is a monthly fee even for paid subscribers to the Miami Herald! What a rip off!
Rip off 1/5
I paid for this app once, I'm not paying for it again. Especially when i paid for it once already and the content is free on the web.
Free To Fee? 1/5
The free version was amazing but the update came and now there's a monthly fee forget this don't download!
So worth it 5/5
I had this in '09 and used it everyday. When I saw there was now a fee I got upset like everyone else but it's only $5 for a year. $5 for an app I use everyday is more than fair.
Paid $1.99 for this last year, them it becomes "free" during the off season and now you have to subscribe? Like the previous the comments said, it was great while lasted! I'll just find the same info online.
Free. Ya right why pay for this crap when you can get it for free on the net. Don't get this junk
By Photo Rob
The fact that Miami Herald is asking people to pay for multiple subscriptions (Dolphins, Heat, Marlins, Canes, Panthers & main MH app) is ridiculous and plain greedy. I realize that apps take some serious resources to make and being compensated for them is understandable, however, the app used to be a paid app with free content and now people that have had the app for a while have to pay more. Considering that most of the content is already available online, why should we be asked to pay now. There is now a totally free official Miami Dolphins app. I'm not going to say it's better than the Herald app but the price is certainly better. I see no reason why anyone would pay for this app now.
F U! GET MIAMI DOLPHINS OFFICAL FREE 1/5
U have to pay sub. And have ads. I hope no one sub. GET MIAMI DOLPHINS OFFICAL APP FREE
Too bad 1/5
Was my goto app for the Dolphins. Not anymore! Just downloaded the official Dolphins app for FREE! This app already deleted. Thank you Miami Herald for last year. This year a new beginning.
