Decent app 2/5
The app itself is barebones but workable. For a year or so I used it for my monthly passes. Finally due to the rude, passive aggressive, and overtly racist morning driver on the #45 I've stopped buying the pass. It's beyond me how she is still employed in any public capacity. The drivers prefer to socialize rather than keep the routes on schedule so it's no wonder the RTA is a last resort for residents and the busses run mostly empty. Her telling another passenger in front of me that she'd pay him to physically assault me was the last straw. Thankfully there are other transit options to get me to work. If you're visiting then by all means get a pass and the app as it's far more convenient and secure than the paper cards.
Perfect for tourists 5/5
I'm writing this review as a tourist - I can't comment on what others have found about difficulties with repeat purchases. In my experience, the app worked quite well. We rode the streetcars all through the city and the app made the process completely pain-free. We bought our 3 day pass in less than a minute and had no problem using it to board.
It works 4/5
I wrote a scathing review initially, but I am modifying my review because the app does work. I called customer service and a representative was able to give me instructions on how to get the app to function. I purchased the 3 day jazzy pass for my trip to New Orleans for the Essence fest, and doing so made riding the streetcar very convenient. I am deducting a star from my rating, because registering on the app requires too much guess work. The app should give adequate instructions on how to register, and how to successfully log in ( the system says the password is incorrect despite typing in the correct information). Had I not called customer service I would have thought the app was not functional.
Can't purchase tickets 1/5
You have to create a new account and re-add your banking info every time you want to purchase a ticket. Useless.
Can't login with valid account 1/5
I downloaded this app and attempted to sign up for an account, but the "Sign Up" button would never activate.
I then created an account via web browser and attempted to log into the mobile app - no dice ("Username/password incorrect")...even when copied and pasted from my confirmation email from RTA.
As a last ditch attempt, I tried to reset my password via mobile app, but never received a reset email.
Most useless app ever.
Have to type in CC info every time. 1/5
Same as other reviewers, app is a total waste of time--have to input CC info every time to actually purchase tickets. And have to pay $.50 "convenience" fee. Not very convenient . . . Deleted.
Makes repeat purchasing difficult! 1/5
Have to delete payment info and reenter it each time you make a purchase. Makes no sense as it will not all a repeat purchase from a card unless you do this. Easier to pay with cash.
Retyping information 1/5
Every time I open the app to purchase a bus ticket, it does not make a transaction. I had to miss a bus ride because of this issue. I sent an email to the technical support team to get this problem rectified but I didn't hear from them in a matter of days, which was extremely disappointing when I read on the app that I would get notified within 24 hours after sending them an email.
The transactions would only work if I fill out my credit card information every time I open the app which is time-consuming and aggravating.
Can't login 1/5
Can't login even with valid account.
I'd SO love to write a good review for this app, but I cant! When I attempt to log in, it just brings me back to the login screen (altho' I'm apparently logged in). When I click on "my account," options come up, but none are clickable. Hopefully, this will actually be a viable app someday because it's a great concept!
No persistence 1/5
By Jim Treliving
This app logs me out and loses my account information like credit cards etc. on many occasions I have to miss my bus because I have to re enter my credit card information to buy tickets. It's a very poor design.
Password requirement too strict 1/5
Tried to sign up for an account but it would not accept several variations of a password, deeming each too weak. When I got to ELEVEN characters and was still unable to use my password, I gave up. You guys aren't guarding the nuclear codes. Too much of a hassle.
Almost worthless 2/5
If the buses and streetcars ran according to the schedule, this might be useful. If the buses and streetcars had GPS on them, it would be even better. The RTA has decided to let almost all the GPS devices go offline, and the buses run as erratically and unpredictably as ever, leaving for a typically dysfunctional New Orleans experience. Since there is a chance you might be able to get a bus, I am giving it 2 stars, but chances are you will be left standing in the rain for hours.
Terrible just like the website 1/5
They embedded the terrible website in an app. You can't look up PM times, it will only show you AM times.
No more "exact change!" 4/5
I downloaded the RTA Go Mobile app and it is great! I can get an integrated ticket for streetcar, bus, and ferry with a simple tap of the screen! And no more "exact change only" for ferries or stacking up useless paper RTA streetcar tickets with $.25 left on each.
It finally feels like my progressive city is making baby steps towards embracing technology- and I love it!!
One thing ruins it all. 1/5
It’s a nice app, and should have been made far sooner, but one thing ruins all that beautiful hard work - idiotic password requirements. There’s two things working here - 1) if a user wants to use an easily cracked password, you can’t save them from their own stupidity and 2) requiring an uppercase letter, two numbers, a punctuation mark, the blood of my first born, six donkeys, a shekel, and a round of hokey pokey is just too much. Deleting and will not be using until this issue is resolved. Good try, but you borked it.
