Why must they notify you of games that happened? Ever think that people want to video it and watch later. I just had to shut off all notifications from this app and I’m really close to deleting it
Widget doesn’t work now with latest update 1/5
Please fix this update so the widget works again.
1 BIG issue 3/5
Love the app but i can’t remember the last time NCAAB scores appear in a timely manner. Sometimes it doesn’t load at all. This usually occurs on Saturdays but not uncommon for week days to not load as well.
Try to check CBB scores. Current day’s schedule will not load. Happens all the time.
Almost there... 4/5
They still can't figure out how to add college baseball. Why?
By Sam Jacobss
I watched NFL complete season for on the app!! Thank you so much
Deleted during the Olympics 3/5
I usually love this app but I am deleting it because I keep getting alerted about the Olympics spoiling the surprise of things I plan to watch later. I turned off all notifications other than for my favorite teams but the alerts won’t stop.
I think this was wonderful. Now Yahoo! You have to get Olympic luge, snowboarding, slope, etc. so we can stream without the hassle of trying to log into the nbc app and getting trouble with provider. Also please get the triple crown of horse racing for streaming even if you make deal with network.
Stop already! No one wants a sports app that puts out stories with political agenda. You do so well with the sports information. Don’t ruin it.
Don’t bother 1/5
Yahoo could have the best sports coverage there is, but the nonsensical, click bait notifications and headlines make them bottom of the barrel. This kind of journalism is shameful.
“This woman just made Olympic history!” should be “(Woman’s name) sets Olympic record in (event).”
See? Not so hard. Aim higher. Rise above.
This app is a piece of crap. It quit loading college scores this year about 75% of the time. Every year it gets worse and worse. I’m finally don’t with this piece of crap
Rarely Work Right 1/5
Although it has the best design and layout of any sports application I know of, it rarely loads and when it does it like UNloads things instead of load them.
Scores won’t load!!! 1/5
I’ve contacted customer service twice in regard to the scores not loading, and this issue has still not been fixed. Just a blank screen and advertisement on the screen instead of what should be the daily scores being shown. This issue has been occurring for months, and continues despite routine updates occurring. This used to be the best sports app, but it has gone to sh**. Non existent customer service and piss poor app!
So annoying 3/5
I've used this app for years and lately it's turning into like a news app sending me push notifications every two minutes about stupid headlines in sports. Just show me the scores not shove sports news down my throat because a majority of the time it's a garbage notification that I don't care about.
Best Sports App, period. 5/5
There's a bunch of snowflakes in this review section who think everything is liberal propaganda. Ignore those people. They have no opinions about the actual functionality of this app.
This app is objectively better than ESPN in every single way. The customizability, the way ads are presented, and the way this app is organized. Everything is clearly presented to the user. You know what you're doing in this app at all times and understand what you are looking at. Regardless of whether or not the information presented to you on any given page is relevant to you, you at least can differentiate a score tab, from an article, to a video. ESPN and other competing apps lack that differentiation.
This app is customizable. That isn't a statement that can be made about most iOS apps. You can change the theme, the app start-up behavior, orders of how sports leagues are presented, and an extensive list of alert settings for each league and team that you follow. Stuff like that is much appreciated by average users and they are what put apps over their competitors. Being able to make an app custom to people's tastes are what keeps apps on people's phones for years.
This app also provides more information that ESPN and any other sports app provides. You can literally search for almost any athlete and find an entire page about their stats and news headlines. If I'm having a conversation with a friend about Aaron Rodgers' career or Jimmy Butler's rise, I can search up their page on Yahoo Sports and reliably trust that this app will present to me an extensive amount of information on them. You can do the same with any team.
This app also understands ads. The banner ads are color matched to the theme you choose and are unobtrusively placed on the tops of pages. ESPN has taken the liberty to just throw in hideous ads wherever they arbitrarily please. Presenting ads in a way that doesn't detract from the user experience does not go unnoticed.
Most importantly, this app development team understands the behavior of their users. They know people use their sports apps sporadically and quickly. Scores are presented clearly and concisely. Headlines are presented in short cards, similar to Stories on Snapchat. However, this app also has the depth for those looking to see extensive stats and information, or to read the entire article instead of the headline. Yahoo Sports also understands how to horizontally and vertically use "spaces" to organize information. For example, the NBA Scores page has scores, news, standings, and stats pages that can all be quickly reached with a swipe of the screen. Information on those respective pages are presented vertically, and with descriptive dividers like "live" for games in progress and "final" for concluded games. This app maintains that continuity throughout all of the app. Once you get the hang of this app, nothing surprises you, you know where everything is and what everything should look like. That is what a user experience should be.
This app provides unrivaled customizability. Not enough apps go out of their way to offer customizability. However, rarely does it go unnoticed and unappreciated by the user. Everybody loves the option of customizing a user experience to tailor their tastes.
I am clearly very passionate about this app and how superior it is to it's competitors. I can go on an on about little details that make it better than any other app. Don't waste your time with any other sports app. Yahoo Sports is all you need.
Simply the Best Out There 5/5
By Dusty McG
Do not let any bad reviews or unfamiliarity with the yahoo brand stop you from downloading this. This app gives you the the best organization options and total information available of any sports app, all in a beautiful user interface. It covers as many or as little sports as you want with plenty of customization. I use it every day and always will as long as it keeps getting better, which it has. One suggestion would be to add a "choose your conferences" option to the college basketball subset to offer a middle ground between top 25 and all Division 1, and always put your favorites on the top of the page, even if they are not top 25. All in all, the perfect app.
Great app 5/5
Good overall but plenty of bugs 5/5
My go-to sports app but article links have impossible ad pop ups sometimes and the “recent conversations” feature is downright terrible. It’s also strange that different NBA game box scores show different stats.
Super Bowl flop 5/5
Tried to stream the super bowl, but airplay wasn’t supported. Would have been willing to pay for access to a Super Bowl stream on the big screen.
Let’s break that down, I would have PAID a one time price to see a stream of mostly ads, with a tiny bit of football and halftime content, but in 2018 this still doesn’t seem to exist.
Guess I’m sitting this one out, let me know when the NFL finally gets with the times. Thanks for trying Yahoo!
The app promised that I could watch the Super Bowl, then told me that it wasn’t allowed in my region 1/5
By Valheru Steed
The title says it all, and I live in Florida.
Awesome for streaming 4/5
I use this app to stream live football (not soccer) games, but if I wanted to watch tons of worthless ads I’d keep watching TV. Please let the “We’ll be right back” screen stay up. I would much rather hear the background music than another dose of advertising that I put up with everywhere else, everyday.
Edit: Of course the one time I actually want to watch the ads (today, the Super Bowl) I get the same crap as always.
Doesn’t work at all 1/5
Literally doesn’t work on Mac. At all. On iPhone, it opens up, but Yahoo lied about making the Super Bowl available. Waste of my time.
No AirPlay of the Super Bowl. 1/5
No video 1/5
Got this app to watch the Super Bowl. Watching the pregame show and No video except for commercials. Zero stars. I can listen to it on the radio.
Gave up 1/5
Unnecessarily glitzy and confusing. Unable to simple get trending or newsfeed to work. Like othe yahoo apps sadly, more style than function.
No NFL stream for playoffs and Super Bowl, seems OK on androids however. Why?
NCAA Basketball 3/5
This used to be my favorite app. It’s so slow and lagged now, especially for CBB
No scores display on game day 1/5
This app used to work but now when checking the Scores the page is blank. Happened since football season. Time to Abort
Need College Baseball 3/5
There’s no option to add college baseball to favorites. Yahoo Sports is missing out!
Only curious about free stuff these days 2/3/18 3/5
Only curious about free stuff these days 2/3/18
Scheduling problem 4/5
Still my favorite sports app but why are the games already played now at the bottom if you are viewing a team’s schedule? That needs to be changed back to the original. If I want to see the stats from the last game I don’t like having to scroll all the way down.
Sh*thole App 1/5
Never works. Can't load games. Update after update and never gets better.
Go to espn or fox. Don't waste you time with this crap.
Update 2 weeks later and it still never works. Must be run by Libtards.
College Basketball failing. 3/5
For sports, this is the app ie used the most over the years, but, I follow college basketball heavily and every night when I go the college basketball section of the app, half of the time it will not load the games or give me an option to refresh to make it reload. Please fix, thanks.
SB L II 1/5
By Huck Hound
Ok, let’s see if I have this correct. As of Monday, Jan 29,2018 there is no line on the Super Bowl according to all you sports guru’s at Yahoo. I guess I just learned something from you that either nobody BETS on the SB or the public has no interest in the game. Keep up the “good work”.
Why why!!!! 5/5
I love this app! It's my go to for all my sports but unfortunately the nfl games are not available in my region but why 😭😭 I live on guam and this was the best update ever but unfortunately I can't enjoy the perks of it.
College games 1/5
By Supersonic hot dad
When I go to look at my college games it will show me the scores for awhile then drop off and it won’t let me go on for awhile
By Coconut Man 03
I got this app because my Espn app kept crashing, and I have been pleasantly surprised. The app is super smooth and allows you to pick favorite teams and get notified of anything going on with that team. Also allows you to watch major events on your phone when needed. Awesome app, would definitely recommend to anyone over espn.
Yahoo sports app 2/5
Why at night ncaab scores go blank and dont update
I think this is the best sports app in the App Store. The app logo is very simple but powerful because you know what app it is simply by looking at it. It’s a very popular app that I think it’s very easy to use and navigate through. It’s a great app for all ages and is very user friendly. You can set notifications on your favorite teams. I have had no issues with this app, and use it daily to check my scores. It’s a free app, so its definite must download app.
Great, but... 3/5
Not getting all game update notifications
By HATRED 13
Notifications once agin do not work in this app. Tells me when the game starts but nothing after it. No end score. No news. A must fix, AGAIN. Probably going to find a new app to use. This is just getting ridiculous with every new update having some big flaw.
Crap app, false promises. 1/5
What a surprise, promises the NFL playoffs, but doesn’t deliver.
Does Not Work with Chromecast 3/5
Please make this app work with chromecast. The fact that it doesn’t is absurd.
Doesn't work 1/5
Game's been on 20 minutes and still no footage. Trash app
No Live NFL on iPad! 2/5
By Jader The Wise
Great app but there is no clear way to stream the NFL games on an iPad. This app is useless to me otherwise.
Doesn’t do what it says it does 1/5
By Kenny got a large sling
Can’t stream any of the NFL games on this. Even though the app tells me I can and redirects me to the games.
the watch NFL playoff games feature doesn’t seem to work on the iPad Air 2. In fact, the app looks nothing like what it looks like on my iPhone or even the pics in the app store.
iPad support is limited 2/5
All this talk about viewing playoff games on your phone is apparently just that: on your phone, but NOT your iPad. I guess they thought they’d be giving too much away to let you watch the games on the bigger screen.
If could give less than 1 Star I would. 1/5
Doesn’t work at all.
No good 1/5
I only downloaded the app because Yahoo! Has been hyping the fact that they’re going to have the NFL Conference Championship Games streaming. There was even a countdown to game time. Then at game time the link disappears and there’s no way to stream the game. Seems like click bait to get downloads. Deleted.
Over and under 1/5
The over and under went away in the nfl and the nba. It was awesome before the last update.
