Used Coinbase for years but it’s broken 1/5

Coinbase customer for over 5 years now and advanced trading is completely broken. Constant connection issues, delays in actions that require the app to be closed and re-opened, I would barely say this is a functional product right now. Needs major work.

I’m writing this now because I tried to receive MATIC using coinbase ms feature to change networks to polygon and the app will not change addresses from ETH to polygons networks address this is frustrating because someone could easily lose their funds if sent incorrectly you can’t be having bugs like this.

I’ve read the reviews of others and their difficulties when trying to reach any technical support and now I have to say that I agree. I’ve been trying for 3 days to get a hold of anyone but the “app” says “we’re having connection issues” which just seems to be an arbitrary blanket term. Coinbase will not let me settle a debt with them even though I have the funds in cash on my wallet, and they’re probably going to sell what remaining crypto I have and leave me with cash instead, forcing me to take a loss on my crypto buy. I’m moving everything to Binance.

I enjoyed using the crypto trading app very fondly over the past couple years. Then my account got hacked. I have had no communication back from Coinbase’s customer service team after i received an email months ago informing me my account preferred phone number had been changed. I now have had no access to the account for over 3 months.
Something needs to be done to make this right and ensured that it does not happen to anyone else with a decent amount of money invested in crypto….i guess that’s why I use Uphold now…. much better app¯\_(ツ)_/¯

They transferred all the coins I had to the regular Coinbase and will not be using Coinbase pro anymore because of advance trading however the advanced trading isn’t working and when you need to sell they take 75% abs leave you with only 25% due to the fees

I sent SWFT coin from Coinbase to my crypto.com wallet and made the mistake of sending it to my RAD wallet instead of my SWFT wallet on crypto (each coin has a different wallet). I followed all of Coinbase support instructions on how to safely send the coin back to the original address at Coinbase and provide them with the transaction hash and now Coinbase won’t give me the funds (~$2k USD) because I have to show proof I was the one that sent the money back and their test to show proof is not possible using a crypto.com wallet. I asked Coinbase twice where to send the money back and both times they gave me bad instructions and won’t release the funds. The mistake I made sending to my wrong wallet is easily reversible if Coinbase had correctly told me where to send the money (my personal Coinbase wallet versus back to the Coinbase exchange address). Update: Case #12672906 and that article the developer sent me would have been extremely helpful back in July when I started the conversation with Coinbase support to send the money back.

Coinbase is the best cryptocurrency exchange hands down. Fully regulated and publicly traded. Doesn’t get much better than that in my opinion.

I was so impatient to carry out necessary research but I really wanted to jump on the crypto trading and investment buzz. Unfortunately for me, I invested 90,700 USD worth of bitcoin with a fraudulent company. I was happy to watch my account grow to 240,575 USD within a couple of weeks. But I didn’t realize I was dealing with a scam company, until I tried to make an attempt to withdraw. I made a withdrawal request, and noticed my account was suddenly blocked for no apparent reason. I tried contacting customer support, but all to no avail. I needed my money back at all cost, because I could not afford to let it go. So I tried all possible means to make sure I recovered my scammed bitcoin. I did a lot of online search for help, and tried to see if there were other people who had any similar experience. I stumbled upon a cryptocurrency forum were a couple of people mentioned that they had been through the same process but were able to recover their lost cryptocurrency, funds with the help of Ganesh Cyberhackexpert7 At gmailcom . So I file a report and he was able to help me get back all my lost funds within 2 weeks I feel indebted to him. Apart from trying to express my gratitude to them once again using this medium, I will recommend anybody who wants to recover scammed bitcoin, stolen cryptocurrency, funds lost to binary options forex, investment and any other form of online scam , reach out to Cyberhackexpert7 via gmail good luck

Customer Service is “virtually” nonexistent. The app doesnt work on my older device. My balance and the chart displaying history of my balance has been unavailable for months. When I try to exchange I get an error msg that they have connection issues and they are looking into it, which they aren’t. So I can’t even make exchanges most of the time... Once in a blue moon it works briefly. Maybe it is a form of market manipulation. I have had ‘unrecognized’ transactions pending for months so I can’t even use my card, customer service keeps closing my ticket with a no-reply email survey ‘Was your issue resolved? Yes/No’ almost as if they are just making a mockery of the whole thing. Crypto Industry is continuously plagued with fraud and hacking, and I would have thought Coinbase would have taken such a thing seriously. Maybe they are in on it. The Card Company at least takes calls, Coinbase is impossible to contact, so I have very little confidence in the security of my account. I would recommend people use another service until Coinbase irons out the wrinkles.

New Advanced Trading chart always shows “Network Error”…if your servers can’t handle it, disable it, users shouldn’t have to deal with that on the front end. Always have to quit the app restart a couple of times just to get a Buy order to go through, again on Advanced Trading. I’m actively choosing another platform because the headaches here are too numerous.

I can’t believe the problem with Microsoft Authenticator giving 8 digit codes instead of 6 digit codes is still occurring, past a year. People have lost thousands over this. Insane to have to verify your ID for up to two days every time you want to trade. And even then you can’t access money from the app- only browser. It’s a crime when storing billions of dollars worth of money. With all the technology available it’s unreal you choose not to fix this. Does not instill any trust or faith when storing money.

With many tutorials and and information given by Coinbase it turns into a con. For someone that doesn’t need this information and wouldn’t like to be bombarded by tutorials; it gets annoying. However the user interface is clean, love the new advanced trading, Coinbase is trustworthy thus-far. How could you not give this app a try.

How do I update my authenticator app by scanning a QR code that is on my phone? I do not own a computer. I’m just totally screwed here, and when I try to log in to get help with this it just tells me to update my authenticator again. I can’t! Circular.

On November 25th I tried to transfer my btc to another wallet and I was told the transaction would be on hold due to security reasons and I had to upload my ID. It wouldn’t let me so I let it go and waited the 3 days it said it would take. Well flash forward 5 days, I had completely forgotten about it and hurried to check both accounts and my email since I know I never received it. Somehow the account I had tried to transfer it to said I received the btc on November 23rd which would’ve been impossible. I tried to contact support for both accounts and got a couple of unhelpful, “it was deposited,” replies. Flash forward again to tax season and I had my tax documents from both account that say the $500 was deposited on the 23rd but Coinbase transferred it on the 26th. I showed them that and showed the other account I haven’t even been able to spend $500 to reach the $0 I was at so the math doesn’t add up either but not even an apology was given from either companies. I saw someone else review Coinbase with the same exact issue a few days after me so I’m sure Coinbase knows their system messed up in November but don’t care. I had put $500 in Coinbase for emergencies and I was kicked out of my apartment after a medical emergency so I was in an double emergency and Coinbase made it a triple emergency and cost me a roof over my head for the mistakes they don’t seem to acknowledge. I don’t even know how many emergencies that all comes out to now.

They are currently actively denying payment or payout most likely due to recession. I have tried every way possible to withdraw just some of my investment money and this app has made it impossible. Go with another investment app unless you don’t mind being blocked from accessing your funds by thieves.
UPDATE: Their ‘team’ has responded to my review in the way they do to all their reviews, without resolution and no effort; only automated falsehoods. To reiterate, do NOT use Coinbase.

There are fees that are high for low money investors like me.I love day trading but Coinbase makes it very hard because when you first buy crypto, they charge you .99$ and up(for me usually 1.99$), not only do they charge you for that, they charge your conversions to other crypto networks.If I want to transfer value from one network to another, it costs money.When I try to cash out my money, I first have to convert it to stable coins(digital usd), and then I can finally cash that out when I convert it again to my bank account which also costs money to convert.If I pay 50$ for bitcoin, there’s a 1.99$ fee, so I start out with 48.01$ then I’m forced to convert into stable coins which cost even more and then I can finally cash out which cost another 1.99$.This makes profit from day trading very hard for me since a lot of the cryptos I have, don’t spike up and down very hard.Just before you think you’ll finally get to make money, just know that they’ll charge you 3 times.The only way to avoid high fees is buying their Coinbase One subscription which costs, not surprisingly, 30$ a month.

I don’t like the fact that no matter what, you can never sell all of a currency. You are left with an amount that is unusable and stays in your account portfolio even though the available balance was transferred to another currency.
