I’m so tired of the bait and switch 1/5
It’s not free. You need “credits” to make text and calls. Just another scam
By j vigcclh
It’s not letting me receive texts
I was trying to text my dad and then I could not go back to my contacts after I texted him😡
You should not have adds on this app
Messages don’t go through or take 2 days to reach the people I try to text.
No live support only faq as a support? 1/5
So I bought the app to use the number on this app and it’s already been used before.
I love this app. I can text and call friends on different phones.
It’s HORRIBLE 1/5
I mean I like it but the calls have horrible quality and I can only text people for 10 minutes that’s stupid and also I am having trouble logging in i do not recommend this app
A great app 5/5
Honestly there is nothing wrong with this app it’s actually better then other texting apps and now I can message my friends and family ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻Peace!!!!
Poor app, tons of ads 1/5
The app claims to allow free texting but I’m trying to text friends in Taiwan and it fails
Really screwed my business 1/5
Got a number through this app to use for my business and it was deleted with absolutely no notice. Has really screwed me over
Why does a texting app have adds?
It great. I use it for made international call.
Calls are Dropping 1/5
Yeah I dunno, I have never wrote a negative app review, let alone one at all; but I just wanted to bring attention in case you guys were unaware of potential bugs.
App is terrible 1/5
If anyone says this app is good they are paid. Period. This app will not work consistently and you will loses calls and contacts. The worst on the App Store.
I would give a 5 star because when it works, it works.
But the MAJOR inconsistency is the problem.
I’ve paid the monthly fee for the last several months now & the calling is the biggest issue.
It’ll have boughts of working, then all of a sudden, I can’t make calls out. Meaning I can make calls, but I can’t hear the person on the other end & they can’t hear me, just dead air... but I can see when they answer because the time count starts.
Lately, 1/2 of the text notifications, I don’t receive them. I’ll open the app & there will be texts there that I wasn’t notified about. Just had someone send me an email this morning after 11AM status they left a vm & I don’t even have a missed call.
Before I contacted their customer service, I went through all the steps that are required on my end that they have in their help section. But I haven’t had to do or change everything because everything they recommend making sure is setup or in place, already is. My WiFi signal is always at least 3-4 bars (strong connection) whenever I make calls or receive them.
As I told their customer service, this IS an app issue, not a phone issue. Especially considering I’m always making sure that apps are updated in the Apple store & my iOS is always up to date.
I requested a refund back for the last couple of months (not all of them), because you PAY to be able to make unlimited calls & texts on this app in the first place. So I f you’re paying & not getting that ability 1/2 the time, it’s only fair to compensate for the service you’re not getting, right? Same thing when you call a provider. When you complain about call or text issues, or lack of service when you’ve done everything on your end, they usually have no problem crediting you.
I’ve been paying $7.99/month to be able to call or text as much as I want (which I don’t do all that much, but at the times that I do, it doesn’t work for calls. So basically, I’ve been paying about $8 extra for what I could be doing with the free texting lately. At this point, a refund on what I haven’t been able to utilize would be most appreciated.
I have no problem updating my review if anything positive changes. But I can’t give a 5 star review with my current experience right now... especially considering that I’m going off of several MONTHS worth of experience; not just a few hours or a few days.
KindA good 3/5
By textme 3 star
Okay, so I have trouble in group chats sent to me and FaceTime on the app! But it is pretty efficient for a free app! And it is nice because kids who have tablets or iPads can download the app and text you and others!
“Pay to continue..” 2/5
This app won’t let numbers that aren’t in your contacts (unknown numbers) text or call you. For example I download an app that is anti-botted and they want my number for verification... I put in my TextMe number and it DOES send it, BUT right when you hit “send,” or “verify,” you’ll get a message from TextMe saying “Secure your number! You may see this message, but you must pay.” It’s really stupid. There’s a lot of other things wrong with the app, but don’t even get me started there. If if you do decide to download this app I’m just forewarning you that it’s not the best. If you’re looking for a decent texting app, download TextNow. It’s 100% free with UNLIMITED data and texting!
Won't call out 1/5
More times than not the number just wouldn't work. I'd try to make a call and it just wouldn't call. Worry water off money. Seems to work for others but certainty didn't work for me.
Ringer Way to Loud 3/5
This app would be so much better if there was a way to turn down or even silence the ringer without having to change my sound setting on my phone. The ringer on the app is twice as loud as the ringer on my phone. The only way to turn it down is to adjust the volume on my phone. Then I cannot hear the normal phone ring tone because I had to turn it down to compensate for the overly loud ringtone supplied with the app. First time it went off it was so loud I about had a heart attack.
F*** this ***t 1/5
Never trust this friggin app. u’ll always be ran out of credits eventho u do purchase cuz u give ur money for nothing. This is not an international call app so be warned I wish I could give ‘em 0 star

Can not find the place to stop the auto pay 1/5
DO NOT buy the promotion! User CAN NOT find any place to stop the auto pay though this app. I do not care 2.99/week. Just not like how people do business in this way.
Amazing support great app!!! 5/5
I had an issue initially when getting my number working. I contacted customer support on a Saturday and Darlene was on top of the issue and made sure everything was resolved. You don’t see customer support like this anymore and I’m so happy I chose this app. I will recommend this to everyone
gone crazy on the price. 2/5
I use this app to text my daughter in another country. While the services work well they are now charging $5.99 a week to remove ads. This is $311.48 a year. Are high? I can add international texting to my daughters and my phone for that. I used to pay it because I used the app, I don’t care about the ads I just wanted to support them. No more. . It used to something like $20-$25 and I was ok with that.
The app is pretty legit for the most part but for some reason my texts keep disappearing. And I will get a notification of a new text but when it loads up nothing is there .
Texts take forever to send 3/5
Someone sent me a text an hour ago and it still hasn’t appeared on the app
It Doesn’t give a notification when you get texts and if you want a verification code through the app you have to start paying 👎🏻☹️
This is the best day ever I love texting 5/5
This is greattt😘
Not unlimited, texting: 24 hour limit beyond 72 now 2/5
Cannot text unlimited number of texts, I know this, but app has blocked me for over 24 hours, now over 72 hours from texting my patient recalls. Not good. Texted support and they told me see to “terms and conditions” ( that I am fully aware of), and tried texting again today, way over the 24 hr limit (and I pay $7.99 each month) for extended service. It has been 72 hours! Poor response from support personnel.
Lost my phone # 1/5
By mouse or rat
They took it away after I paid $5 and it is still paying monthly and I don’t know how to do that
I like it a lot! 4/5
So I like this app very much I just wish there wasn’t adds but I will say the app was super helpful for people that have iPads,IPods, etc. but I really like this app and happy that I tried it out!
Drops calls 1/5
Drops calls and very inconsistent. Do not use for business purposes.
Nothing is free 1/5
The only purpose I got this was to get a code so I could use uber eats, but when I tried to do that it said if I wanted to see the message I'd have to buy the number for at least a week! I only need it this one time
Not free 1/5
Not a free number
Can’t call out 1/5
Have used for over a year with few problems, but no longer can call out. Messages work, still receive calls and voice messages. Free or pay no outcalls. Have reinstalled app and is updated. Any help
Great app but calls are confusing 4/5
By Rose wilinchick
So I downloaded this app and it's
Awesome! But when somebody calls me they go straight to voicemail. When I call somebody it works likes a regular phone number does but there's a weird high-pitched noise in the background.
Security limitations set 1/5
Security limitation set for no good reason while texting w my mother two times the reason they give is increased security issues because of spammers which is not me but the limitation placed on my number. I emailed support no response. I never spam anyone and can’t even hold a conversation w my mother. This app and their treatment of honest users is unacceptable!
TextMe Free is a good enough app, good for a backup #. If you turn on Notifications though, it never tells you if someone texts or calls you. The “notifications” are ads to buy premium.
You don’t need credits if you’re making United States calls or texts and are in the U.S., and that’s pretty nice.
I’m still pretty angry at the fact that the app doesn’t tell you if someone has contacted you, but it has good security and let’s you pick your first # for free. Additional #’s or changing your # does cost money, so choose wisely on your first number.
TextFree is a cute texting app, reduces spam calls too. I don’t use it much though. I’m really only disappointed in the notification thing.
Minimal ads, easy to download, doesn’t seem to hack your data or anything.
Honest server with nothing too bad. There are no outside ads that you notice too much, only advertisements about the App, that bump you to buy premium. But almost every app does that nowadays, so I don’t get bothered by it, especially since it happens minimally.
You do lose your free # if you don’t text or call in a while, so make sure you text at least once every 2 weeks or so.
You don’t need anything except for your email to sign up. It’s pretty easy. You have to be 18+ to use it I think, but I can’t remember.
I wouldn’t recommend doing spam text/calls on other people as your main reason for the app, because your account may get suspended. This brings me to another topic: don’t send anything you wouldn’t want the world to see. TextMe Free monitors conversations to keep its use safe and honest, which means that your conversations are looked at. So, if you don’t want the whole world to see what you sent, don’t send it. Instead, use your regular cellphone plan if you have one. If you only have this app, just be careful.
Sorry the review was long, but let those thumbs know if it was helpful or not!
Low quality app 1/5
Bugs, freezes, call drops, you name it it does it.
Ok, so this app is, yes, quite convenient. I do not have to pay to text or anything. That annoying this is that it likes to say I didn’t text them a message, or they didn’t text me a message. Quite frustrating!
You gotta pay 1/5
First thing it says is it’s free.
That’s a lie
Does what it's s'post to do 4/5
By Paige Cares
It works most of the time. Occasionally I need to attempt to call a few times before I'm able to connect. There are ads but it's not an unreasonable amount. It does what it's supposed to do. It does ask me to upgrade my account a lot.
I rarely receive notifications for texts. The app sometimes crashes. Awhile back after an update, the app logged me out and it took awhile to log me back in. That was when I lost all old texts and calls.
Stupid app. Used to be better than this! 1/5
Thought it was good enough to be used for banking, spent a long time on the phone with my bank, they sent me a code, I got off the to try to open the text message and this useless app won’t let me see the message unless I pay. Why not tell me that before so I don’t use it ? Now I have to do the whole verification on the phone with my bank again . Garbage !
Too much freezing 1/5
Ive used this app and had the same number for a long time. It has updates but they never seem to cover my issue. At the most urgent times im trying to type a message it keeps freezing it never fails when i need it the most it can take like 10-15 mins to get a message sent sometimes. It crashes and i reload only to freeze again so i have to start the message over
