Good news app 5/5
The Mcall app is excellent in the way it displays news items. It flows well and you can find anything you wish very quickly and easily.
Does what it needs to do 4/5
Well-designed news app providing convenient access to local news. Would love it if the Trib Co would hire back all of the local reporters to bolster an important foundation of our Democracy!
Only 5 stories a MONTH free 1/5
Much better free options for getting Lehigh Valley news that don't charge you for reading more than 5 stories a month. I downloaded the app and in 10 minutes was screwed and couldn't read another story this month.
Lehigh Valley Live and 69 news do not have these restrictions.
Not bad 5/5
Morning Call 1/5
The recent update made this very poor ap even worse. Very difficult to use.
There's promise 2/5
It's difficult to navigate this app if you want anything but articles. Managing subscriptions is not as easy as it really ought to be.
Morning Call App 5/5
I have been reading the Morning Call on my IPad for quite awhile. The improvement over time has been great!
I have always received it along with my subscription for the newspaper. I have read the Morning Call all my life-since the 1950's.
At times I was very frustrated with the delivery of my paper - the digital paper solved that problem.
Don't wast your time downloading ridiculous that they are charging now...get wfmz ch 69 or lehigh valley live app both are free
Have to pay 1/5
App tries to make you pay for "premium" stories that are available for free on MC website
By Daddy golf
Current easy to use.
Your app needs serious help 1/5
Every time I attempt to read an article that I now have to pay for, the page disappears and goes to a commercial page on my Safari. Since I now pay to read the articles, this is unacceptable.
Disappointing app. Can't read any of the "premium" stories without spending money. Lame.i won't buy your awful paper. News Is news. Don't waste your time with this app. Any other local news app is better. Try wfmz or Lehigh valley live.
It blows up after reading an article 2/5
When I read an article and attempt to return to previous screen, the app returns my to the phone's home screen. The sister LA Times app does not.
Loved at first 2/5
I loved this app when I first got it. But slowly over the last year almost half the articles you have to pay to read. Very aggravating.
Keep having issues 2/5
This app keeps closing and or timing out, takes forever to load all headlines. As displaced Lehigh Valley-ite, very frustrating trying to keep current with happenings "back home"
I liked the old version better. This app crashes frequently and you have to watch a stupid ad when it opens which you didn't have to do in the older version.
Absolutely horrible 1/5
This app has gotten absolutely horrible. I now am required to pay to read articles after I exceeded a few articles? Also, it crashes pretty regularly on my iPhone. It's ashame, because at one time it was actually alright.
Great...until required to pay! 1/5
Trying to make it more than it is, a local paper, and requires MONTHLY subscription to read the top articles. Very disappointed!
Beautifully Done! 5/5
So happy to see this app finally received a makeover which has been long overdue. New design is simple and elegant. Love it!
Don't download 1/5
Can't read stories because you need to have an account, obviously these guys don't care about news
No thanks 1/5
By RG Runner
Agree with others. No thanks.
that I have to pay $9.96/month for an online subscription, then $9.99/month for an iPad subscription and then another $9.99/month for an iPhone subscription! It should be $9.96/month with the paper available on all of my computers and electronic devices.
Bad app 1/5
By Justin 1630
What a joke 1/5
Hard to believe the MC ever thought this would be a good idea. Impossible to understand why they haven't reversed it at this point.
Don't need it 1/5
By No app no paper copy
App deleted and wondering why I need paper copy.
I have a subscription for the paper copy and I use to consult the app regularly. Now that I have to pay for using the app, I not only deleted it, I'm wondering whether I even need the subscription. Plenty of other apps that give me the news I want and avoid giving me the bias of the Morning Call
Not worth it
Update? Just a little bit misleading. 1/5
Great decision to roll this out. Getting lots of rave reviews are we? I hope the genius who thought of this gets rewarded. Deceiving a customer is a grand way to conduct business MBA genius. Here's a homework assignment to Mr. Genius......write a essay regarding the quote "Honesty is the Best Policy." Try doing it the old way, go to a library (I recommend Lehigh University) and gather your research there and try your very best not to use Google. Oh, but do use Google to explore how to delete an App from a smartphone......I'm deleting your App right now....without using Google.

$10 per month. No thanks.
Buh Bye 1/5
Not worth paying no way! Can't believe they are willing to lose customers
Money for nothing. 1/5
An absolute joke. Media, excluding NYT, must realize the new revenue models are not going to be realized via pay walls on an app. Consider the app a bonus ad view to you advertisers not a source of revenue from the public who already realizes the value of such a poor ap.
Continue to alienate your readership until it completely gone. As you know, that day is close.
Goodbye Morning Call 1/5
By Just Cuz too
They want me to pay twice - once for print and again for this limited content app? Guess again...now I won't even be paying once. Say goodbye to a 20 year subscriber. Thank goodness for the Channel 69 and Express-Times apps!
Delete this App 1/5
Good bye Morning Call!!!
Subscription? For mcall? Seriously. 1/5
For years I paid for the paper to be delivered to my house. I move out of the area, wanted to stay in touch, now it will cost me? No thanks. WFMZ is good enough.
Why on earth would I pay for news? Hello WFMZ app! Bye mcall.
By Disgusted still
Shouldn't have to pay to get local news. Deleted! Used to get the paper but it was all ads. Now you can't even read it online.
Crappy news app 1/5
Didn't get that much to begin with, now they want you to pay for it. No thanks, I'll continue reading Lehigh valley live and WFMZ. Deleting now.
Don't bother even installing unless you plan on paying.
Boo morning call 1/5
By My weather hater
Scam. Don't update or you won't be able to read articles without a subscription.
Shame on you MCall 1/5
By Lost another customer#11118
Morning Call just lost me as a reader. I'll be using another local source for my daily news.
Horrible idea 1/5
So my reward for being a loyal reader for years is that I now have to pay to use the app? My home delivery subscription isn't even enough for access! Well, your reward for having an inflated opinion of the value of your app is that I now use WFMZ and national news apps only. It really wasn't that fantastic an app, and I'm not sure where MCall got this bloated sense of self-importance. I'm certainly not paying $10 a month to encourage it, though.
The End 1/5

Goodbye Morning Call!!
No good anymore 1/5
I used to be able to read some local news. Now I need to sign in and maybe pay. No thanks. Deleted.
They have the right to charge and we have the right to say no and go elsewhere for our news.
Kidding me? 1/5
10$ a month? Get real you greedy communists
Old news. Back page news. Updates once a day. Wfmz app is much better.
Not worth it 1/5
I already subscribe to the Morning Call at home. Why do I have to pay for the app?
GO WFMZ! 1/5
Used this app for a couple years, and tried to share a story on FB but got an error. I deleted the app and reinstalled, and now they want money? What a joke! The app sucked already. There were a fraction of stories as on other apps (WFMZ), and they never updated. The same headlines are listed for days. Half of the stories are from an idiot "reporter" named Tracy Jordan, and read something like this (no exaggeration)...
A man was assaulted in Allentown today by another man. End of article. I am glad they started charging. Finally delete the app that frustrated me. Only held on to it b/c of sentimental support for a paper I grew up reading. Die MC, Die. If I could rate 0 stars I would.
By Kenny Pelaez
Why would anyone pay for an app to read an already horrible paper? 69 wfmz is free and exactly the same local news.
New charges??! 1/5
I updated from an iPhone 4 to a 5 and downloaded many of the apps I was using daily. The morning call app has always been free (and still is on the 4) but suddenly they want a monthly payment?! It is also free to access their articles through safari, however they have now lost a reader, I will be using the app for the Easton express instead since theirs is free. The pocono record tried this awhile ago and I don't know anyone who has paid. Great way to lose readers!
$120/yr for an app?!? 1/5
$9.99/month is ridiculous! No way I'm paying $120/yr for an app!
