This is very good for tracking your carbs! (I have type II diabetes.)
You scan a bar code or type a food name, you will find what you are looking for.
If you scan and it's a new item, it asks you to take a photo and the next day when you scan it, you pic and the nutritional info will be there!
I use this app to count my carbs and to plan meals to take to work. The only problem with this app is when I am plugging in my dinner at PM Snack time, it logs my food to PM Snack even though I hit the Dinner category. Then i have to go back and recategorizes all my food items. This bug needs to be fixed. It would also be nice to select more then one food at a time so I could relocate my dinner from PM Snack and back to Dinner.
If this bug gets fixed, I will give this app 5 stars.
Email sent to developer. Screen shots of open app, adding future Dinner at breakfast time, 4 items added, change meal title, add item, hit enter, shows that it added to breakfast, shows nothing recorded to dinner.

Ive tried many apps in my day. Most fail miserably. This is by far the best app in the market. The user interface is intuitive it scans barcodes and it tracks calories burned from your devices. I would give it six stars if i could. Just do it. Download this amazing app and support the developers

I enjoy using your app and its quick to use interface. In my opinion it has better pre-loaded data than other tracking apps (though not perfect).
I wish it had 2 additional features: An iPad version & the ability to submit photos of foods that are missing from your database (photos of the box and nutrition label) that the company could use to either make corrections or add missing items.

Love this app! I've done WW and even worked for WW at one time. This takes the guesswork out of figuring your proteins, fats and carbs in what you are eating. I've told others about how easy it can make losing weight!! Love this app! Lost 13 pounds, 5 weeks! It really works journaling your food, when you reach your goal for the day! Stop eating, just that simple. Just love this wonderful guide to weight loss! If you go over your goal a little just don't beat yourself up, start back the next day. Great app!

Exactly what I wanted 5/5
No social media bs on this tracker or ads jumping out at you or spamming your email with questionable or useless blog entries from internet randos. Just a really good nutritional database that’s easy to log multiple foods, search by bar code, add recipes and set goals. I haven’t found a food it doesn’t have yet and it’s really easy to edit as you go through your day. Thank you SO MUCH for this.
Lacks Weight Tracking 5/5
I used this app back in the late summer and loved it. It’s so easy to use and would track your weight loss progress in addition to calories and exercise. Now I’m using it again but I’m not able to enter or see my progress in terms of weight loss. There used to be a graph. It looks like that part of the app is grayed out now and not available. Total bummer. Looking for another app but seriously disappointed. 😔
After the Nutritionix folks reached out in regards to my previous review, it was discovered that most of my issues were “user error”. Lol. So now everything is working just like I wanted and I’m very happy. Love love love this app!
Best tracking app out there 5/5
I love this app. I have tried what seems like every tracking app out there and nothing compares to this one. It's so easy to use. It's simple and tracks exactly what I need. The best part is the database full of all the foods. Seriously! When using the other apps there would always be at least two foods per meal that wasn't in the database and I'd have to try and figure out myself to add. This app has just about everything I scan! There have been a couple calorie discrepancies and they were so nice about it. I really like this app and recommend it.

After receiving clarification that Nutritionix is not going to switch to a paid subscription and that existing features are not going to be locked behind a paywall, I have reevaluated and improved my rating.
Thank you, Nutritionix team for:
* No aggressive/annoying ads.
* Large food database.
* HealthKit integration.
* Keeping key features free and limiting the pro features to a very specific subset of users. 💯
🙂 Nutritionix provides a much better option for food logging than MyFitnessPal and other similar competitors (I switched from MFP because the push to use the subscription model was obnoxious and the ads were even worse). Give Nutritionix a try - it’s a very good app and seems to be getting even better.
Request: I would love to see a more detailed breakdown of specific micronutrients (sort of like what’s available on the Happy Forks website) if possible.

Nutritionix is my go to app as I learn to control my blood sugar. Plus, keeping track of nutrients is reassuring as I follow a Vegan diet. Thank you for this fun, free app which makes being healthy easier.

With the help of the Nutritionix I have been able to lose 40+ lbs over the course of 6 months by tracking calories, logging foods, eating smarter and exercising daily. This app has made calorie tracking into a game and the weight loss has been a healthy 1 to 1.5 lbs a week. The interface is simple and clean. 99.9% of the foods I eat are already in the system which is amazing. Adding a food is as simple as a snapping a couple of photos. I recently tried a few other trackers just to see if there was a better choice and they all fell short. They could not compare to Nutritionix!

The UI is extremely well-designed and simple to use. The nutrition info database is well maintained, and I've yet to encounter any bugs despite a pretty long window of use. IMO it reflects the gold standard of what I'd expect from a calorie counter app.

Improve Health App integration! 5/5
Okay I’m not a guy who rates apps. But this app is amazing and listened to feedback. My previous problem with it was HealthKit integration. However it is now in the app! It automatically pulls my burned calories from my Apple Watch!
They don’t try to sell me some premium bs social network. It’s just an amazing calorie tracking app.
You can ALSO specify your macro percentages. For those of you who lift or just want to target your diet in a certain way.
It has something no other app has: freeform entry of foods. If you’re in a rush, you can literally type (or say) “scrambled eggs and 2 pieces of toast” and it’ll fill it in for you.
Future request to devs: add in a feature to automatically set my caloric limit based on weight and fitness goals.
Please add: receive health data from Health app. Currently only SENDS data to health app. So I have to manually enter my workouts that are already stored on my phone.
Other than that, the freeform (voice and text) entry is great and the most important reason I keep using this app.

My favorite food tracker 5/5
I tried multiple food/diet/nutrition apps, including My Fittness Pal, but found this app was easier to use adding individual foods or creating recipes with nutrition macros broken down per serving. Can adjust personal goals for daily amounts of protein, carbs, and fats so it fits a variety of dietary needs— which for me is a low carb, high fat diet to control Type 2 diabetes. It quickly pulls up what I typically eat at certain times of day so I don’t have to go looking to log 2 eggs every morning. LOVE that it’s a free app with so many food nutrition info available (and easily scaled to my serving) or to scan with my phone. Plus tons of restaurants are included. Easily log exercise and water intake. So many awesome features. Did I mention it’s free? Helps me stay on track and motivated. Thank you for this awesome app!

I am in school for dance right now and I wanted an app to simply track my food and exercise to make sure I'm eating enough calories. I really like this app in theory because of the easy way to write out ingredients (I cook a lot), but it's very glitchy. It doesn't keep information very well and doesn't always let me see my daily food log. It'd be great to see some of these issues worked out. I think this could be a great app (so much better than my fitness pal)

I've tried the lose it and fitness pal apps, but this is really quick and simple to understand- I'm happy so far, and it lets you put your own recipes in, too. Give it a try!

The daily food entries are soooo easy because of the large food data base. The app integrates with other food and exercise apps thus reducing the amount of duplicate entries. Instant net calorie calculation and stats for measuring your daily progress.

This is better than most nutrition tracking apps! Better than My Fitness Pal! And it is free! It has a very appealing interface. It offers you calorie intake goal and an option of deciding how many of those will be carbs, how many fats and how many proteins. I can't believe it's free. I imagine it will stop being free one day otherwise how would the developer justify all the work done to develop this beautiful app. I would even pay for it only if it was one time reasonable charge to own it for life instead of monthly payments - like my fitness pal who charges 9.99/month. I'd never pay this much for an app.

I have used a lot of food tracking apps, some I've paid for, but hands down this is the best. The app is amazing and support is off the chart. I always get immediate feedback and help. I even received an unsolicited email telling me that they noticed I tried to enter a product that wasn't in their data bank, so they entered it! Crazy good!!

This app is exactly what I needed to manage my diet. I have diabetes and cancer and it's become critical for me to manage what I eat. This app is very user friendly so I'm more likely to keep up with my entries. I can review a food before consuming it to see if it will put me over in a given area. I can plan out my exact meals for the day to ensure daily success and good decision making. I like that it is not overly focused on weight loss as my goal is good nutrition.
Its nice that you just write what you had and t automatically brings the nutrition for you, but the dash board is very complex and doesn't give you the overall look of what you had for a day. I am using mynetdiary just because of that and i thought hey why not this one... but Noooo...

Like there wasn't a glut of food logging apps out there already, Nutritionix took their existing app—that functioned beautifully, btw—and turned it into yet another silly girlish diary. "Oh, I gained another quarter-pound; I simply MUST get control of myself! I know... I'll start making a note of every bite that I eat; that will surely curb my wolffish appetite and help me stay at my dainty 84-lb. skeletal figure!"
All I wanted was an app to search/find NUTRITIONAL VALUES, people. I'm not interested in recording anything; I already have another app (a glucose log, as I'm diabetic) to keep track of my foods.
Get rid of this unwanted, unnecessary food journal and give me back that simple "Here's what you wanted to know" app! A huge thumbs-down to this reverse upgrade! 😡👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

This app is phenomenal, it helps me keep myself honest with my calorie intake. I have used this since day 1 of my journey. 135 lbs lost and counting. The ease of use, it remembers the foods you most commonly eat. They keep on adding features. The exercise feature is great, as I do alot if walking.
