Why can’t I manage my Amex Next Step Loan from the app?
They email you to download promos that are only exclusive to the app. You download the app but you don’t find the promos they’re offering. App deleted. Waste of phone space.

I normally give good reviews. But you need this ....Don’t believe AMEX when they say “Plan It” stops the interest on what you “Plan”. I have a screenshot proof it’s a bait and switch. Bait you with false promises and switch you to a higher monthly minimum. Other than that it does what it claims. Just don’t fall for the hype. It’ll increase your monthly payment with NO BENEFITS.

I love AMEX and one of the reasons is your APP. However 3 tries to make a payment this morning failed. Ir allowed me to enter the amount, date and account but then wouldn’t go any further.after each step it returned to the previous screen without showing my selection...which is stupid and unhelpful as these buttons are so small that it is easy to fatfinger. But after three tries the “continue” button remained grayed out and I never got a summary of my payment set up or a way to finalize it so had to log in to the full site to make the payment. Trying to pay today, 20 days early and same bank account I always use so no financial reason for this glitch. Pls get on it right away!

Simple and easy to use. I’m happy that I get to use the app with my Amex card. I suggest enabling Touch ID or Face ID for a quick, safe, easy access. Statements is at the forefront along with your balance, so there should be no confusion. Payment options is also easy since it’s attached to the balance. Rewards is also attached and sends alerts in a nearby area. One thing I didn’t realize I was doing was checking my spending power. This little button allows for certain transactions to be approved. Which is nice in case you have to make a large purchase and would rather not receive a call from Amex about approving a purchase. Don’t abuse this back-to-back consecutively because Amex will temporarily freeze your accounts.
Now here’s were the work needs to be added... Two-Step Authenticator is a must in today’s day and age, I don’t have the ability to add my bank info and I’m redirected to the Amex website, adding a card also tells me to call the number that is prompted(which is confusing since the mailed card recommends using the app), and the ability to turn my card on or off. Yanno, in the event if I misplaced or in the unfortunate event that I lost my card. All of this should be added to the app and also website.
But for anyone with the card, I highly suggest downloading the app to check statements and rewards.

Updated their app, I can no longer log on with a thumb print, their update changed my settings. I have to go to work, obtain the pass word to fix the problem. In the mean time, I have no idea what else they are doing with my account. Pathetic

Love updates, except for push notification bug 4/5
I have push notifications enabled for whenever my card gets swiped, but recently I started getting duplicates. It seems there’s one push notification with the newer flat-color logo and another with the older 3D logo.

I was able to reset my password using the @ character. While the website would allow this login and password the mobile app would not. Phone help did not pick up on this and stated there was no way this was possible.

I would’ve emailed this but I could not find an email for AmEx. There is a bug in the app when chatting, where if you switch to another app like FB Messenger and switch back to AmEx, the chat input area goes away and you can’t type anything. The workaround for this is to exit the chat and reopen it. I’m on an iPhone X on iOS 11.0.1.
