Great app! Responsive team too 5/5
This app has made meal planning and budgeting for groceries so easy (I have AnyList Complete). It takes some work from the beginning to import your recipes, set some favorites for your shopping list and set prices for your items, but once it’s all in there it’s a breeze!
When I first started using this app they didn’t have the option to add prices to your shopping list items, and I emailed them to suggest it. They responded right away, and a later update added the price option. They take your suggestions seriously! And they keep adding things that make the app better and better.
Doesn’t sync 2/5
I love this app. It was so convenient to use when wanted to send my husband to the store and add things. However, it not longer syncs which I’m really disappointed about.
I got this for grocery lists, but I use it for so much more! I love that I can add to my lists from any device and have them updated among all my devices. I can even pull up my lists on my Apple Watch! I can add entire recipes and add items from the recipe directly to my list. This is one of the few apps I have that I’ve paid for the upgrade, but it’s worth every penny...
Love it! 5/5

My whole family uses this to keep on track.
This is by far the best list app on the market. It goes beyond just making a simple grocery list. There are options for different types of lists. The recipe import is flawless. The app itself is *very* simple to use. If you have a problem, or don’t know how to do something, just email them and you’ll get a response from a real live (very helpful and friendly) person within the hour. They’ve done an outstanding job with this app. I can’t wait to see what’s next with these guys.
I *HIGHLY* RECOMMEND THIS APP!
I’m always talking about this App... 5/5
I love this App! It helps me stay organized and on task. It helps me communicate and share responsibilities with my family. I use it in so many different ways: shared meal planning and grocery shopping, shared prayer list, shared chore list, shared packing list, shared toy rotation list, shared birthday Party planning list, etc. I also love the camera feature, which helps communicate with the ones I share responsibilities with and to remember what toys I put in rotation/storage. I love this App!
Love it 4/5

This app really makes a difference for me as far as meal planning. If I could export my grocery list right into my Walmart cart for curbside shopping it would save me a ton of time.
Good enough but needs work 3/5
By Jolly Warlock
You have to hit menu, then select item, then you select the item you want, then you hit another menu, then you finally get to delete your item. Five steps before you've done a single thing. Really this should be hold on item, menu pops up, delete. The end.
Life changer! 5/5
My husband can use this while at the grocery store allowing me to update as he shops! Since I always think of one more thing once he’s there this has really helped- he doesn’t need to make another trip! I know I could call but he doesn’t always pick up....AnyList has changed all that.
Best App ever! 5/5
This app has allowed me to store all of my Weight Watchers recipes and it makes shopping and staying on plan so much easier!
Extremely useful app 5/5
By R. Old Man
I use AnyList several times a week and just purchased the upgrade. I love that I can save recipes to the app and then transfer items to a shopping list. Very useful; well designed!
Update: Just renewed for another year. Best app and great value. Just linked to Alexa...another very useful feature. Extremely creative developers.
Great App! 5/5
Very well put together! This app saves my wife and I a lot of time! Great customer service, awhile back I had an issue they worked hard and quickly to resolve the issue!
My Favorite App 5/5
By Que City
This app has literally changed the way we eat and manage our week....upgrade to the family multi-user subscription, as it’s worth every penny! My husband works from home, so I can manage the meal on the calendar, plug-in ingredients we need for the meal, and he can access the list from his own phone when he’s ready to go to the store. It is the greatest invention ever! Every feature runs so smoothly, and I have been able to manually store all of my old family recipes for easy retrieval at any time. Having the capability of creating the grocery list straight from the recipe is phenomenal. If I had to choose one app to keep out of all the apps in the world, this would be the one.
An Excellent App Keeps Getting Better. 5/5
I use it primarily for grocery lists, packing lists, recipes. Great support as well.
Best app EVER!!! 5/5
I love this app. I’m able to share with my son and my husband. I set up the categories according to my favorite grocery store. Cross off an item - it disappears and the next item moves to the top. I tell everyone I see with an iPhone about this app. Thank you for developing this app - it has made my life easier.
UNPARALLELED SUPPORT & ACTIVE DEVELOPMENT 5/5
I’m still using and DEPENDING on this app for any list that I need. It’s EXTREMELY FAST when using shared lists, or with syncing between multiple devices (or both)! And, as the years go by, AnyList is now even more INDISPENSABLE, as my memory is failing me at a (seriously) alarming rate.
My point being that, if you NEED a dependable app, that ALWAYS works, NEVER fails (as far as I can tell), and is easy, fast, intuitive, and very reasonably priced, this is your app! I usually don’t remember to write a review ;), but, in this case, my hat is off to the developers.
Thank you very, very much!
(And, NO, I’m not connected with them in any way whatsoever. In these ultra-cynical times, unfortunately, I thought it necessary to say that.)
<<< FROM FIRST REVIEW (YEARS AGO, NOW!) >>>
Having bought apps from the beginning of the App Store, the developers of this app EXCELL in their quality and speed of support, as compared to ever other app I've used. The syncing mechanism for shared lists is also really reliable and FAST! But, perhaps the most impressive thing is the constant addition of VERY USEFUL features to the app. The updates are not just trivial cosmetic things, but are really functionally significant as well.
BEST Recipe App EVER!!! 5/5
I've tried so many different recipe apps and bar none, THIS is the best! I've been using it consistently about 6 months and subscribed to the yearly premium version almost immediately. Worth every (inexpensive) penny!
My favorite features are the recipe import, meal planning with shopping list and search by ingredient (or anything else).
My first review- Great app!!! 5/5
By Unbridled Engineer
I’ve tried LOTS of cooking and list apps, but never liked them- until I found this one. You can modify or customize most anything! It works with other apps and functions, such as REMINDERS, calendars, locations. You can share task lists for projects, shopping lists and recipes with multiple people. When I’m meeting others for a long vacation, we share the kitchen packing list. When one of us marks an item off our list, it’s also marked off the shared list immediately. I have a “Take to Daughter” list that she or I add items to before a scheduled visit. My husband goes to the meat market, while I go to the grocery co-op, and this app lets me assign stores to items, which keeps our lists “separate, but together”. I can import most recipes automatically with a single click from web pages, but I can cut and paste entire ingredient lists and directions if it can’t import automatically. So easy! It will put recipe ingredient lists on a shopping list easily, and I choose which list. It will import costs for items from assigned stores and calculate a running total.
Crashes too often 2/5
I just spent $8 on renting an app for a year that crashes no less than 2x every time I use it. iPhone X.
Not thrilled at the moment, will change my review on next release if the crashing ceases.
And why do I need to add a new store to each list in order to assign an item to that store when I already added the same store to another list. Why can’t I just select from the stores I’ve already created.
I feel like I’ve been scammed.
Works with Alexa 5/5
Use Alexa to add items to your grocery or to-do list. Share lists with another person via text. Great app. Very useful and simple.
My New Favorite app! 5/5
Really loving this app so far! Happy I upgraded too. Have only been using it for about a week but it has come in very handy. Two thumbs up!
How did I live without this app? 5/5
Been using this app since it came out. First app I’ve ever paid for and I’m happy to re-up each year. I have lists for camping and books and Christmas. My biggest use is for a weekly grocery list paired with the meal planning feature. In fact, I’m doing my meal planning and grocery list now! What I love about the app is that I can rearrange the categories to match my pattern at the particular stores that I shop at. I’ve got one for Fred Meyer where I typically grocery shop, and then another list for Costco. I can’t sing the praises of this app highly enough. It’s simple, easy to use and customizable. And whenever I’ve had a problem or didn’t understand something, the developers have gotten back to me personally. So impressive. I’ve been so happy to leave my paper grocery lists behind. This way I never have to turn around and go back home to find the list I invariably left sitting out on the counter. I always have my phone, so with this app I always have my list.
Do You Shop? Do You Cook? 5/5
Then get this app! Pay the developer the measly $1.00 a month for the premium features and make your life way easier. The developers are fantastic about updates that matter including Alexa and SIri integration to make list editing seamless. Importing recipes from any of the recipe Apps I have with just a click including the picture? Yes! Copy the URL of a recipe using your browser, open AnyList’s recipe bowser (can browse the web for recipes from there too) and you get prompted to import the recipe. It just works! Bravo AnyList team!!
Easy and fun to use 5/5
I tried this app because I was in search of an easy to use list for keeping our grocery list with us so we wouldn’t forget it at home like our shopping bags. This app is very interactive and allows no only a grocery list but other lists as well. With the annual purchase of this app you can create a grocery list and add the actual pictures of the product eliminating the purchase of the incorrect brand or size. The best part of this app is that I can create the grocery from my phone and it instantly updates on my other family members phones and also allows them to add items I may be unaware of. Great app and looking forward to new changes. Best grocery app plus more, download ANYLIST from the App Store now, you won’t be disappointed! Fun for the kids as well!!!!
Great software! 5/5
My wife and I easily share all kinds of lists with all of them synced quickly to all of our devices: iPhones, iPads, and my iMac. What great convenience and efficiency! We are happy users. We recommend it highly.
Perfect for Chefs and would be Chefs 5/5
This is an awesome app, well worth the annual subscription fee. My favorite feature in no particular order: Family sharing, recipe import, meal planing, add some or all of the ingredients to your list, for anyone that’s tried to double or reduce a recipe by 1/2 this app does it for you!
My wife and I share everything from grocery lists to gift and Christmas gift ideas. Being able to share lists is *awesome* and very helpful. Alexa integration is fantastic! It also has an amazing recipe import function where you can import recipes from most webpages into the Anylist recipe manger and from it at items to your shopping list. Can't imagine being without it.
Quite good, Keep updating as vendor responses come in. 4/5
By Jamaica Blue
This is handy as a grocery list manager. Auto categorizes items & you can add a stores parameter (context?), though does not appear to sort lists by store. You can add other list types, those are roll-yer-own for details.
Some of this is outdated, as vendor responds...
I've created grocery lists in OmniOutliner, Outliner & even OmniFocus in the past, but is simpler & thus cleaner in Anylist. I still see a one-trick pony for my purposes, but AnyList does it well.
Reminder List. It needs a feature to select past grocery items, or a way to store groceries (i.e., milk or beer) that you were NOT currently out of, but may have frequent recurrence in a separate list & Drag & Drop between them, or mark & auto-send to the active grocery buy list.
Recipe section is a good idea, will be more usable if it can successfully integrate recipes as well as other standalone apps do. If it can resort & fold recipe ingredients into the buy list effectively. Needs to allow for crosschecking recipe ingredients against the buy list. Also, right now entering recipes here feels too cumbersome (to me).
A flag for late, last minute additions would be nice.
Vendor appears to be responsive.
One of my most useful (and frequently used) apps 5/5
I have been using AnyList for over two years. As a grocery list app, it’s hard to beat. My wife and I can add items to a shared Grocery list from our respective phones, or by asking Alexa (Amazon Echo) to do it. Then, when one of us goes to the store, the other can do a last-minute update from home. The ability to categorize List items (and to arrange the categories according to the aisle layout of our neighborhood grocery store) means whoever is doing the shopping (usually me) can do a single pass through the store, from one end to the other, without having to “double back” for a forgotten item. (On rare occasions, when we go to the store together, we can start at opposite ends, and meet in the middle.) The “Favorites” list allows us to quickly add frequently purchased items to the List, by merely checking them off. The ability to store prices of individual items means you can keep track of how much you’ve put into your cart, as you go. (The total is updated every time you check an item off.) So, no “sticker shock” at the checkout line. The ability to download recipes into AnyList (from a number of Web sites) is a real plus. You can add all of the ingredients to your shopping list with one tap, then delete items from the list that you already have on-hand. (AnyList will show which recipe each ingredient is needed for, as well as how much of it is required for that recipe.) You can also meal plan right from the app (by assigning recipes to specific dates on a calendar within the app). Periodic updates add improved capabilities. I can’t recommend AnyList highly enough!
Can’t live without it! 5/5
This app is so well thought out. I absolutely love it!
The best of the best 5/5
Still incredible. Reliable. The app is awesome. I use it for just regular lists for getting stuff done but it gets better. I share lists with family for stuff around the house or lists for vacation or whatever. Then you can pull recipes off the internet and add them to the list for the grocery store. THEN there’s more. You can plan dinners and lunches for the next 6 months or more! If you’re into that like I am get this. It helps with my stress.
Keeps Us On the Same Page 5/5
My partner and I love this app. Once we broke old habit of texting “we need x” or “don’t forget y”, which admittedly took a while, it’s been smooth sailing. Just think of something, add to list, and done. If it’s on the list, it gets purchased/done. The filtering is great. Syncing has never let us down. We’ll keep annual subscription for as long as it’s an option.
This is the grocery list manager I’ve been seeking for 10 years 5/5
By Barry Parr
It is everything I need and it’s easy to use.
Love AnyList 5/5
Can’t be without it. Use it everyday. Wonderful app~
cluttered and cumbersome 2/5
It's a shopping list app, but not a very good one.
Fantastic App 5/5
This is the most useful app! I use it not only to create lists, but also as a menu planner. What I like best is the ability to import recipes and then add items from the ingredients list directly onto my grocery list. It makes shopping so easy. I can also print my menu every week and post it for my family to see. I also like that my husband can see what is on our grocery list from his phone if he is the one shopping. I have tried many grocery and menu planning apps and this one is by far the best. I have been using it for about 3 years and don’t have complaint number one. It is awesome. I do pay for the subscription version - I like it that much.
ALEXA and SIRI support 5/5
By MacMan Fanboy
This should be the first thing in the review that it supports both of these. Awesome app!!!!!
Great to share lists and get updates while shopping
Love love love this app 5/5
By Shahs bivi
I really love this app. It makes it so easy for my husband and I can coordinate the groceries and I use it for trips out of town and other lists as well
I wish there was a price comparison tab where we can enter in the prices for items and a sale price found section we can add in if we want box... for each grocery store
So “applesauce..smith...2.89 (reg price).. 1.60 (sale price) ; cosctco... 6.00
Best app for couples/families 5/5
The reason AnyList is so great is really simple. It’s the absolute best solution I’ve found to create shared lists with your family or really anyone else that has the app. It’s premium features are also highly affordable and worth while compared to other apps that want twice as much for similar premium features.
Super helpful! 5/5
Lovelovelove this app. More intuitive and easy to use than any other list app I’ve tried, including those automatically loaded onto my phone. It’s so nice not having to deal with paper lists anymore when I go places. I use this app for everything- so very helpful and makes my life easier!
Very good, very useful 5/5
By The Rock Looker
This is a pretty good list maker and the connection to Siri works well. My little problems with it are: 1) all the tools it contains for an annual subscription and 2) the annual subscription. I don’t need or want the other apps included in the whole package and I don’t like subscriptions.
I would be willing to spend a few bucks to purchase THIS app with an upgrade of some sort that makes it more useful than this free one but a subscription and several apps I don’t want just ain’t gonna work.
Truly a 5-star app 5/5
I’ve never had an app, either free or purchased, that so far exceeded all the promotion and hype. AnyList is not only the perfect grocery-shopping app, it’s also the perfect recipe app. And if that alone wasn’t enough, the recipe processor is perfectly integrated with the grocery processor, because if you want to cook it, you need to shop for it. I couldn’t begin to list all the features this app contains. I’ll just say that if you want it, it’s probably here. Want favorites? It’s here. Want Siri or Alexa interface? It’s here. Want automatic quantity adjustment? It’s here. It’s all here and it’s all good.
Add to android 4/5
By Momma lilac
I love this app on my iPhone but need in my tablet !! I can’t find in the google play store or amazon. I really want to purchase the premium but it’s not worth it if I can’t use across devices. I’d love to afford all Apple products but I can’t 😓
Great App for IOS but no support for relatives on Android :-( 2/5
I love this app but the new sharing features aren’t cross platform so they are useless for me and my Android loving family and roommates
I love this app! 5/5
I’m a new convert to AnyList, and I love it. I used a different grocery / recipe app for years and really loved it. I hadn’t planned to switch, because of having to copy all of my recipes and grocery lists to another app. But when a friend sent me a recipe with a link to AnyList, I thought I’d try it! Within 20 minutes of playing with it, I was hooked! I copied and pasted recipes with only a few simple steps. I did a “Select all” of the ingredients in my old recipe, went to AnyList “create recipe”, “add ingredients” and paste. The ingredients are pasted as paragraphs and when you click done, they are instantly separated as individual ingredients! The same is true with directions. All that remains is to create a title and voila! My old recipe was in AnyList! Incredible! And it’s even easier to add them from most websites. Just copy the link, then go to recipe web browser. It asks if you want to open the link. Click open, then import. If it works, click save. Done! Adding grocery list items and favorites was also a breeze!
There are only two things I’d like to see added:
1. I would like to be able to a grocery item to a menu. (I can add it as a note, but I can’t add a note to my shopping list. The only way to add fruit juice to a menu, for example, is to create a recipe for fruit juice. I don’t want to clutter up my recipes with “fake “ recipes just so I can add it to my menu.
2. I wish that for menus I could create a template to add the same menu to multiple days without having to add each individual recipe to each day, especially for special occasions like Thanksgiving and Christmas when I make many of the same basic dishes each time. And I often use a rotation schedule for meals or repeat the same breakfast every day, for example. It is easy, though, to move or copy multiple recipes and notes to another day, so that’s works almost as well. When I’m finished with a day’s menu, I just move (or copy) it out 4 weeks. So that isn’t really much of an issue.
AnyList is absolutely fabulous! I use it multiple times a day, now!
Great app! I love it! 5/5
I don't usually write app reviews but wanted to share how much I love this app. I've tried many different grocery lists apps, but this one is the best. Not only can I make my list, but it's great for keeping my recipes all in one place too. The only thing that would make this app the absolute BEST was if you could integrate this someone into the stores online ordering systems, like Instacart, Shipt, etc.
The app I've been looking for... 5/5
I've been using one app to keep track of my grocery list and one app to keep track of my recipes (and neither of them had been updated in years). Then I put my meal plan on a paper calendar.
Now I can do everything in one place??!? Thanks AnyList!!!
Great app - Responsive support 5/5
My wife and I love this app. Either of us can add items needed to our grocery list. The recipes function is excellent because we love being paperless and it can scale recipes up or down as needed.
I had some difficulty renewing our subscription and I got an email back by the developer very quickly which solved the issue! We use Anylist every day and not just for groceries and recipes so the subscription cost is extremely low for the value received.
Best App EVER 5/5
I never write reviews, but this app is so great it deserves it! It has changed my life!! No more writing out lists and forgetting them on the counter at home. Both me and my husband can add items onto a shared list, and import recipes online (and the ingredients also get added)! Everything about it is easy and makes my life a little less hectic! This is the best app ever!!!
