Farting app for $1 is more useful 1/5
If I could get a 2 year old to come up with functions for an app, it would be more useful than this app. Great show me a map. I can't even verify if the hotspots identified are legitimate, since the app doesn't let you make the connection.
There are NO AT&T hotspots! 1/5
There are absolutely NO AT&T Wi-Fi hotspots in Mumbai, Bopal, or Dehradun India. THERE ARE MANY FREE PUBLIC HOTSPOTS in all three of those cities however! So why would I want to use this app?? I would advise you to FIX it!
This app is worse than worthless 1/5
By So someone
It will give you a false sense of security that you will actually have wifi somewhere along your travels. For example, you will not actually be able to find wifi in three cities in South Africa outside of your hotel, and in that case you may end up paying for it or constantly requesting access from the front desk because it expires after 500mb.
I contacted at&t hoping they would reduce the fees I paid for my international plan. Nope.
Doesn't work at all. 1/5
Same as everyone else. I've tried it for about six months. I tried loading it but it would always fail because I didn't delete the old profile. Never figured out how to delete any profile.
I'm not even tech stupid. It is a very poorly designed app.
Terrible App, will disrupt your phone hardware and software 1/5
Terrible app. Do not use! It will hose your phone and make it unusable and then you have to revert and delete the app. Just terrible.
Wi fi app 1/5
By spain traveler
Why does ATT continue to offer this if it is useless? Both the international day pass and the passport plans require thus app be on your phone - any suggestions readers?
App does not work 1/5
The instructions do not work. You try and load a profile and it says you must delete the old profile first. There is no option in the app to delete the old profile. Also tried to use it in Australia and it never worked for any of the local hotspots there.
By Richard in Washington
Finding things on a map shouldn't be made impossible, yet at$t found a way to do just that.
Do not use 1/5
After I installed this app, there were very long wifi-related delays where the entire UI was unresponsive. Removing this app fixed the problem. This is on an iPhone 5c.
Barely worked 1/5
I was able to use this app to connect to wifi ONCE on my 10 day trip to Ireland. Don't even bother downloading.
Worthless app for a worthless service from a worthless company.
Worthless is an understatement 1/5
Traveled to Croatia, Australia, Estonia, Germany. Never ever found a single AT&T wi-fi. Haven't found any across the US either. Cannot even find a map showing where AT&T wi-if coverage exists.
The conclusion is that there really is NO AT&T wi-if and they just want you to think you will get something for what you paid.
Worthless - don't be fooled like we were.
Never worked. 1/5
Installed before visiting Lisbon and the Azores in Portugal. Never successfully connected to a single network. Found a couple it said worked but they all required some membership. Much more successful just searching for networks manually.
One-Star Because I Have To 1/5
By Mama of 4 lil' birds
Wow. This app (and AT&T's customer "support" system) is an absolute nightmare. Once I had it downloaded, the app usurped all of my other wifi connections AND wouldn't allow me to delete it with the iPhone's normal tap-and-hold (or, "no, you need to PRESS-and-hold it" — oh, okay, thanks so much, Janelle at support, because that is exactly what I was doing. Super helpful.) I'm on a bus trip with a sweet group of older folks who are napping. Instead of enjoying the scenery, I tried to save my phone from this tyrant application. After chatting online with "Steve" and "Gustavo" on ATT.com, watching a suggested video on deleting apps from an ANDROID device (not terribly helpful), and being told how wrong I was from Janelle over the phone, the app has been deleted and I didn't teach any of these elders new vocabulary, nor did I vent in a piratical tirade.
DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP. And think about choosing another carrier.
On a trip to Paris, a city where you'd expect at least some hotspots, could not find any hotspots in app. Worse yet, I had to get a wifi connection first because app relies on internet to load map data and lists. Presumably. If there are actually hotspots somewhere in the world. I get the fact you need internet to get updated info on hotspot availability but an app like this should have a synced offline database of hotspots. In my common use case as a traveler avoiding cellular data that would be key. But so would having a hotspot in one of the most visited cities in the world....
Would give zero stars if I could 1/5
In the center of Copenhagen. In two days of travel, I have connected to one hotspot which was nearby my hotel where I didn't need it. Save yourself the money and frustration and figure out another option. This clearly isn't it. Called AT&T to remove it and they stated that there are "known issues with the app".
This app doesn't help you connect to wifi anywhere. The wifi's approved by att still require logins and passwords. It's a useless app.
Absolute Garbage 1/5
In ten international trips in the last two years, the app NEVER connected to a single Wi-Fi hotspot. Even if one was found, it never allowed me to connect via app. I'm talking major cities and airports: London, Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Rome...
I'm unable to get this to work. My wife and brother in law were able to eventually get it to work.
- I confirmed I am on the correct plan by calling ATT to confirm.
- ATT tech support said it should work when I arrived bed in Europe. It did not.
- Uninstalled then re-installed. Got message to turn off iMessage off. Which I did.
- Reinstalled again. Nada.
AT&T should be ashamed of this product. I would suggest they remove it from the App Store until it works. I didn't intend to spend my vacation testing software for them.
Garbage, don't do it 1/5
By Ticked Off ATT Custo
You're better off leaving your phone in airplane mode and accessing local wifi like you normally would. Or, buy a local SIM card with data and bypass ATT.
This app will force you to turn off airplane mode to connect to hotspots. Even if you have roaming and data turned off, it still finds a way to charge you even when your intent is to use wifi only. I can't explain how that could happen but it did.
I called ATT to get the charges removed and they won't since some texts and calls went through. Yeah, that's because your crappy wifi app forces you to do that!! Thanks for nothing and wasting my time and money.
Couldn't even setup the app without disabling iMessage, turning off wifi and rebooting the device! This experience gave me no confidence in the app working internationally.
Garbage. Get T-Mobile for Global 1/5
By choulis Z
This app is nothing special. All it does is search for internet connections so you don't roam. In Europe wireless is typically free, everywhere. So you can get by without the Internet plan. Just turn roaming and cell data off and connect with wireless. For calling use FB, Skype, or unlock your phone. Or get the T-Mobile for international plans because the cost is much better.
Will never do this again and will likely switch to T-Mobile after this disaster.
No Spots were Hot 1/5
Used for Western Europe. Texts wouldn't go through, calls either. Hot spots were unfindable. Believe the reviews. Don't waste your $$. Just use hotel wifi.
What a joke 1/5
People want internet not just wifi 1/5
Although the app tells you where there's wifi it doesn't tell if that wifi connects to the internet. I rarely found this to work including at my hotel that offered free wifi. I could only connect if I chose the connection that wasn't part of the att global wifi.
By Madi and Morgan
Traveling a couple different places in Europe and Egypt for two weeks and went with this option from AT&T. The wifi hotspots that they suggest NEVER work and the app is incredibly non-user friendly. The representative on the phone was not helpful in explaining at all.
Useless in the UK 1/5
I have traveled to the United Kingdom each of the last two summers, armed with this app on my iPhone. I was in London, Glasgow, Stirling, Edinburgh, Bath, and Oxford. The app never once guided me to a single Wi-Fi hotspot. I was able to find plenty of free Wi-Fi on my own, but the Global Wi-Fi app had nothing to do with it. Save your time and iPhone space. Stay away from this app.
Useless app 1/5
I tried using this app while traveling in Spain and it never worked. Even if I found an AT&T hotspot, which was very rare, it never worked. AT&T should remove this non-working trash from the AppStore, it's a ripoff.
Are you serious ATT? 1/5
This was advised by an ATY agent as a means of avoiding roaming charges. First step..." turn off wifi, must be setup on a mobile network". Hello!?!
Also after reading review after review that is terrible, it makes me think that as usual ATT is clueless about their own products...and does not even care if their customers like or can use the product or app
Forced to give one star or cannot post this... but if I could I would do MINUS 4 stars!!!!!!
I'm in Australia and I need data for Australia so my mom went to at&t and the lady showed her this app and my mom got me to download it. I told my mom before she went to the store that at&t gave me a text for a different plan. ($10 for 24 hours of unlimited call text and data) she told the lady that but the lady said that this was cheaper and better plan. I downloaded the app and I got a wifi map. That's was so retarded for the lady to scam my mom knowing I'm in AUSTRALIA where most of the time I'm not near a place with free wifi so the app is pointless to me. I also have 6 days left in Australia and she paid $60 for unlimited call and text but 300 mb of data not each 24 hours but 300 in total. I don't even care about data but the lady could I gotten a way cheaper plan for me. I'd rather have nothing than that because my mom has to give $60 of hard work money for a load of crap.
Scam! You are warned!! Never again!!! 1/5
Please, if you reading this; don't even bother with this useless app... Nevertheless, what can be expected from AT&T? I signed up for this service and it only connected in the airport (Dubai) ... after that I was forced to buy a wifi access point with another SIM card!! Of course AT&T phones are country locked... The fact they offering this "service"'is simply ridiculous and unacceptable!!!
Still waiting for the app to work 1/5
Traveling in Europe I was able to automatically connect to a supported wifi hotspot once out of about ten attempts. No idea why it did not work the other times. Unfortunately the app requires wifi (or cellular) before it can search for local hot spots. Kind of pointless then since once I am paying for cellular or wifi why do I need the app. Would be much better if the app allowed you to keep offline lists of hotspots even if it did not have perfect accuracy. Don't recommend the app.
Useless App 1/5
I was at two non-US airports and connected to two AT&T Global Wi-Fi partner hotspots. I received the page designed for your average person that must pay for connectivity. Don't waste your data usage or fossil fuel generated electricity on this. I repeat don't even try.
Waste of time 1/5
By Art is not real
Words cannot explain how useless this app (and the passport plan) are. I tried it in London and in Berlin to no avail.
Largely Worthless 2/5
My wife and I visited France this past month and opted for the Passport option with AT&T. That was fine. We had limited data, but it worked just as expected. No issue. The "global wifi" is pointless. I think in the two weeks we were there we found 2 of these global hotspots. Neither let us connect to them despite having the app and the profile installed on our phones. The app is misleading too. You can connect your device to any wifi hotspot just as you can in the US. Your phone will treat it as any other, regardless of carrier.
Basically this app will push you towards limited hotspots with poor connectivity and slow speeds. If you're at a hotel or coffee shop with wifi, it will likely be far superior.
In short, Passport's cellular data is fine, but limited. You don't need this app for the cellular data. For wifi, go with a hotel or coffee shop and skip this app.
Both useless and a hindrance in the U.K. 1/5
Like many others, I saw that AT&T touted all sorts of free wifi hotspots. This app includes a map, and claims, if set up properly, to auto log you in. Instead, my phone showed that it found the wifi and was on it, except it was as if some security login part wouldn't work, so I was on wifi but on a wifi that wouldn't let me use it. Because your phone will try for the wifi rather than cell data, it means nothing worked at all. I reset my credentials & network settings and nothing helped. The only way to have internet connectivity was to stop the app and just use cell data or other non-AT&T wifi.
AT&T shouldn't advertise this at all until they get it working properly.
Absolute garbage app 1/5
Literally worthless, doesn't work, I haven't been even able to connect to 1 network with this piece of s*** app in the U.K. Or France. Every time I try the connection either fails or it can't auto login so it brings up the typical network payment page
I payed 120 dollars for passport gold for this absolute laughingstock of an app??!? Att will be getting a very angry call from
By Fatty McCrapperpants
A slower way of seeing what wifi is in the area, and won't let you log on to them anyway. Worthless in the last month, in the Czech Republic, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Tampa FL, and even JFK airport. Has not gotten me or anyone else in our party on a single network yet!
Waste of time 1/5
Sounds good in words but in reality not worth the memory it uses. What people do not realize that you have to have wifi to use. If you have wifi why do you need it
Absolute waste of time
Passport Gold 5/5
for me it was excellent,... I bought the pastport gold and I was more than good,... as soon as I arrived in Russia, AT & T taught me all the Hot spots that they have and there are several... I think, most importantly, it is to know how to use the application,... without fear,... First: You can not leave your phone in airplane mode, otherwise you will not be able to connect... (if you leave it in airplane mode, then only you can connect to other Internet, hotel, etc) No airplane mode,... Second: when they ask you, if you allow your phone to use your personal Data? you have to go to the settings, and accept, otherwise, you will not be able to connect, and you are immediately connected to the international network of AT & T,... Very easy, very simple,... and good connection,... What there is what you know you do,.. .yo I read all the comments that have been written here,... and let me guide through the only positive one, which someone left, and I was Super well,...I'm very Happy..
Useless in Italy 1/5
Won't authenticate on the global wifi hotspots and prevents you from using normal authentication methods. Hasn't worked once.
By Not happy at the moment
I will give a zero if I could this thing does not work anywhere you go downloaded everything the way you should follow all the directions and when you need to find a hot spot boom! nothing
Not helpful 1/5
I was in London. App showed lots of wifi but the only ones I could connect to were at my hotel which I didn't need the app for
No icon appears 1/5

AT&T wi-fi service in Milan Italy area 1/5
By Tritium HHH
I never found a hot spot in Milan or Lake Como area I could connect to using this app. In my opinion it was basically worthless. I recommend looking for another wi-fi solution.
It doesn't work. 1/5
It doesn't work.
Provides no value, and prevents connection to Marriott wifi 1/5
Never once do I recall having leveraged this app for a wifi hotspot location - and now that at&t provides the wifi for Mariott it prevented me from connecting to the captive portal until I uninstalled.
Zero stars 1/5
By Sad former scrabble player
Despite all the bad reviews, i thought i would give it a go and hopefully have success. Um, not at all. I was in Switzerland - not the desert or at sea - and was unable to use any hot spots. I would open the app and all these pins showed up but with no map!! How on earth can i access a hotspot if i don't know where i am or where any of the hotspots were? Also, i received not a single text until i got back to my apartment where i was hooked up to wifi and then they would all come flooding in. And then, my friend who has verizon was able to get wifi all over the place and had no problem texting or checking email. My phone was completely worthless other than as a camera. Which actually was a good thing since i forgot to pack it. Don't download this - a total waste of space.
Doesn't work! 1/5
What a waste of iPhone space. Went to France, Venice and Greece and it was useless. (Yes, I followed the instructions properly and even got the AT&T 10 day pass). Wifi in settings does a much better job.
