Better than expected 5/5
As soon as you get through the new registration (which is not easy - you have to create a new account), the app works really well. It has all my recent doctor visits, my bills, etc - I really like it! Make sure to use Touch ID - saves you time next login.
Solid UI 5/5
This update has many positive features and advances MyBlue app beyond prior version.
Not what I want in an insurer’s app 3/5
By The Smurfless One
Requires a different login than the web site. No Apple Wallet support, but you can download PDF files of your cards.
What I wanted: My family cards in Apple Wallet, one-click access to cards and statements, rarely a “find a doctor” search. That’s it. Anything else is just in the way.
What I found: 1 out of 3.
Lengthy create-a-login process should be done at home before you need to use anything. They didn’t make it clear this needs a separate username and password from your insurance provider’s web site. This should at least be stated on the login page.
The “create a login” procedure rejected a password that was too long with an incorrect error message that I hadn’t met the recipe, when in fact I had.
They don’t integrate with Apple Wallet. I can’t emphasize enough that this is where I expect any identity cards to be stored. Now I have to put them in Notes as PDF files. We have a place for this kind of thing, and it’s in Apple Wallet.
The rest of the app is an otherwise usable Safari web view, but I’d prefer an app that at least did what I expected it to, and not just opened a web browser to a URL. I already have a web browser if I want a 3 step login process.
Great app. Honestly I didn't think the last one was that bad but this new updated one is very user friendly. Easy to read and navigate through. Thank you bcbs!!
Pure aggravation 1/5
Registration is not possible using any of the few limited option that it provides.
UPDATE: still useless. Can't use website login to log in to app, have to create a separate username/password. Could this place be more technically incompetent.
Already have login/password, why can't I use it? Why not list my benefits? Why not list my PCP info? Why not allow me to submit form info (I.e. Gym) through app? Fairly useless app.
Excellent design and features 5/5
By Joy Mukherjee
The app does everything that a health insurance app should. Has all the critical functions needed. The look and feel and general flow is spot on.
Login Broken 1/5
Useless update. I keep getting error message when I try to log in.
Worst registration process got worse 1/5
This app is horrible. In the old version I only manage to get access after 5 attempts and 2 calls to customer service. It was horrible. Now there is a new version and they are making every make NEW accounts.
So far I’d tried 4 times and it fails every time. Tells me my email address is invalid. Come on! It’s the same email I was already using on my last account. Do they think I don’t know what my own email address is? Simply awful.
Why can’t the app use the website accounts which work just fine?
Love it!!! 5/5
The new version of the app is awesome. I am glad BCBSMA has taken the pain points into consideration and released a slick app with added functionality. Really loving everything about this app.
Do not upgrade! Does not launch. 1/5
I launch the app and get the message “Failed to acquire license. Please contact administrator.” Can’t do anything at all. Tried reinstalling, which changed nothing.
I can’t even create an account! 1/5
I can’t use this app at all anymore after the latest update. When I try to create a new account (which is required in the update, even though I’ve used this app before) it tells me that my email is invalid. My email! I use it for everything else, and it is definitely valid. Oh well, I guess I’ll just save a picture of my insurance card to my phone instead.
Trash App 1/5
Booking appointments don’t work, no information on spending limits is shown, and trying to contact doctors or offices takes you to a website.
Second password? 1/5
By Nick Klep
Same grievance as others here: I already have a password for the web site and don’t want to manage another one. Plus, my info “doesn’t match our records” so I couldn’t sign in.
Poor Design and Registration Process 1/5
This is essentially a web application (looks like a native app but is just a portal to their website).
I already have a login creates through the website why do I need to create a brand new login with new password to access my information via this application? (Two logins one for website one for this app).
Several broken features 1/5
Publisher should consider taking app down. Don’t publish an app with features that are in process. You want to be agile internally, fine. But don’t publish it. The following features do not work, and may be worse off since the “bug fixes” release:
1. The spending button prominently at the bottom takes you to an error that says balances are not available.
2. The messages and alerts had a red circle and number indicating I have an alert message. But it said it cannot complete request. Clicking a bunch of times eventually brought it up, so I guess just have to know that you have 10% chance.
3. Find a doctor opens a web page rather than the app. Results are inaccurate and partial. It does not include nurse practitioners which are often the main face you see in a primary clinic and know by name.
It's really the worst 1/5
Separate login credentials from website, can't copy paste from password manager, general pain to use and not worth it. Pretty embarrassing for such a large company...
No functionality! 1/5
The only thing app does is provide copy of your card and (when it’s working) list of claims. No info on deductibles. Really useless.
Can't paste password, password limited, why do I even need yet another account? Notifications won't dismiss, app randomly can't connect and won't even load, even after a force quit.
Great app 5/5
Great App! Great to have access to my card especially in case I don't have it with me.
Buggy app 1/5
Buggy app and bad customer service
Can't paste passwords. Can't log in with existing account. Can't use passwords longer than 10 characters. Pain to use. Easier to carry the card around.
Really bad 1/5
One of the annoying things of this app is it doesn't allow you to paste a password from your password manager, and each time you try multi task all de previous info gets deleted. A bad joke for a expensive service
I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times. Always says unable to complete request. App is useless, don't waste your time.
Awful app 1/5
Why do they need another registration?, it crashes and I have to delete it after several frustrating attempts, a bad design. I have seen great apps by Blue Cross in other states, why can't they come up with a similar one for Massachusetts? Not surprisingly I see very few reviews, most with very poor ratings.
Simple, easy to use, giving me the info I need when I need it! Thank you Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mass!
App Crashes constantly 1/5
By Maddog 51
App hardly ever works! Constantly crashes and says try back later! Waste of time and energy!!!!
Separate registration 1/5
Sorry, I'm not going to create another login when I've already registered on the website. Waste of time.
Can't login in
Zero stars 1/5
By Zenduchi fule
I can't login. It instead keeps me asking to register even though I've registered on the website. This is pointless.
Seriously needs update 2/5
Basically an ID card.
The claims status lags behind the website. Why not integrated?
Does not give you deductible updates? Why not? Very basic.
Bad app 1/5
Very bad. Cannot login. Always as me to register. Cannot find the login page.
Great on the go! 5/5
This app is perfect for someone like me. I keep a light wallet and never have the right card handy. I wasn't sure how I would use this app until I was at the urgent care and didn't have my ID card. They used the info from the app and I had no problems. I also got to look at prior medications when my doc asked about recent meds. Very helpful in the go!
No login 1/5
Still no way to login if you have an existing account.
I can't even register. When I enter my credentials to sign up it won't let me submit the information to use the app. BCBS should deal with this problem ASAP. I'm staying away until it's resolved.
App doesn't work. 1/5
Can't even open the app.
I cannot get past the login screen. After submitting my credentials, I get the same error message everyone else seems to be getting.
Can't use if already registered 1/5
Useless if you already have a login
Terrible app 1/5
No way to login without re registering. Also when trying to re register it says offline! Stay away.
Forces you to register even if you already did on their website 1/5
There's no way to bypass the registration screen and skip to the log in screen, which makes the app useless.
Minimal Value 1/5
Unable to use existing credentials.
Lack of detail.
No value add here.
Poor quality app 2/5
Far less robust than accessing BCBS of Mass website directly. With practically none of the same functionality I don't see why I would use other than to access my member card. Just tried to look up some claims and compared against the BCBS website. First, the Provider names wrap off the cell and away from view do you cannot read the full name. When you click to view transaction details, no where does it give you the name of the provider or the description of the charge/service. Not very useful. Furthermore, the transaction totals shown on the app do not align with the transaction totals on the website. For example, on the website I have a claim listed at $75. The app splits it into two separate lines, one for $25 and one for $50. But no description of the charge in order to reconcile against what it is for. It doesn't allow you to look up your Benefits and coverage based on your plan. Finally, it doesn't connect to ExpressScripts for Pharmacy coverage. Back to using the website for me. App doesn't add value.
Can't login 1/5
By iOS user 999
Not possible to use existing credentials to log in.
Not a great app! 3/5
I don't write reviews, I am sorry if I am giving 3 stars, but this app doesn't tell you anything, and on top of everything it doesn't let me logout! Please fix or add more features, nowadays, almost everyone uses a phone not a computer!
Epic Fail 1/5
I am an experienced iPhone and iPad user and this app will not function! BC & BC of MA is no help in resolving the issue. I will not trust my medical info to a program the dose not function properly, they blame it on their vendors.
I simply entered 00 as the suffix and the app found me. Give it a try.
Big setup gotcha 3/5
Be aware that if you use third-party keyboards, like the Google Gboard, you will not be able to setup your account. The social security number spinner goes all wonky and won't let you enter anything. You have to use the default Apple keyboard.
Also, why only 10 characters for a password? I thought medical records were supposed to be secure? How about use the built-in features that allow me to connect to my password manager app of choice as well as TouchID. And then let us use 24-character alphanumeric and symbol passwords that are truly secure.
A lot of bugs 1/5
The registeration screen asks to spin the wheel to enter social, of which i can see only 2 number that too in the backgroud.
Why couldn't you guys just take it as a number input.
Useless app until this is fixed.
The SSN field needs work 2/5
Can't fill the SSN field on the ios9 App because it has a weird and frankly quite dumb wheel to spin that should allow one to pick SSN. However, it is not only nearly invisible but defaults off screen up and to the left and I have an iPhone 6plus! The number keypad displays but a manual key in also doesn't work as it only accepts numbers and not the dashes. Net effect, it won't let me register.
Agree with bloke!! 1/5
By Ira's iPhone
Their is a bug that will not allow u to enter your SS#. Key pad appears and on top of screen number roller faintly appears. Will not accept the keypad entry
