This app has been very effective in changing my choices to assist me in weight loss. It is easy to use and results are very clear. I would give it five stars if it weren't for all of the ads you have in the free version that I use. I honestly did not think I ate very much prior to using this app and was confused at why I was having trouble losing weight. This is taken all of the guessing out and made some of my bad habits come to light. Fantastic.

I depended on this app. Lived by it. Tracked my whole weight lose journey and today I open the app and all of my data was gone. All my weights and measurements that I logged gone. That stuff was important to me because of my weight loss journey and how hard it was. Officially disappointed in this app. And it was 2 years worth of data. My advice use a notebook and pencil not apps they are not reliable

I do love the App, very helpful in tracking & it syncs with my FitBit. My only problem is using the food selections. I have a really hard time selection the portion size with the options given. I would love to have a choice of cups, teaspoons, ounces, grams, etc. Maybe a drop down of each type of measurement to select.

Love that I can count macros. Really showed me how much I was relying on proteins with high fats. Even if I eat healthy fats, they were keeping from my fitness goals. I also love how just about any food is available and you can program foods you eat often into meals. This app is the best one out there for ease of use. It's great for basic calorie count to precise macro count.
Whenever I try and add friends through any of the options (Facebook, contacts, email) the app force quits.

I have tried other food tracking apps and this is my favorite! I love the fact the I can import a recipe to the app and it totals my calories and nutrients per serving. I use the recipe function daily. I wish they would add a way to create a grocery list from the recipes. I also would like to be able too make notes on each recipe...or a place for instructions so I don't have to go to the website. Other than that...it works pretty effortlessly. I would be lost without it. I have lost weight too.

Recently purchased due to switching from outdoors job to desk job and not wanting to gain weight.
There are a lot of search options for food and exercise and a scan option to input food data which is great. It is easy to input new foods/exercise
The app is simple and easy to use.
It gives me a general idea of how many calories I burn in a day based on activity.
It has some fitness articles which are fun to read.
My issues with it are:
Apparently all I can eat is chicken breast or some sort of meat because it always says I need more protein.
The app says eating a cup of cherries puts me close The carb limit.
There is only a recommended amount for saturated fat, so if I eat an avocado I have a bad score for fats despite being way under the saturated and total fat limit.
Strength exercises have no calorie burn value. Usually I just substitute "jogging", but I feel it's inaccurate.
I've spent months trying to work out food issues but this app has been instrumental in me watching what I eat. I love it and it syncs well with my Fitbit.
Good at tracking, annoying notifications 3/5
I like what this app does in the way of tracking your food, exercise, and weight. But the notifications in it are annoying. I just got a notification about being able to change the frequency of notifications. Not cool.

I love to and have gotten into the habit of entering meals. I'm not sure its tracking step right last couple days. I'm at Disneyland and it says I have only walked43 steps. Although I know I will hit my goal I should be able to trust counter.

This app is amazing for what it gives you for free. It has a comprehensive food inventory and the ability to quickly and easily take a snapshot of the UPC to get all the important info from your food. You can log basic exercise and keep track of macros and micronutrients, set goals, make meal plans, etc. I use it in its most basic form: macros and calories in. For weight loss, determine your base metabolic rate (google BMR calculator) and set as caloric goal in MyFitnessPal. This is the easiest method I've found for resetting my caloric expectations. By watching my calories per meal, I've discovered lol the traps that threw me off my diet, usually sauces, butter and oils, and toppings. I could fluctuate 500-800 calories depending on what I put in my coffee or on my sandwich (which could be the difference between gaining or losing one pound). Here's the bottom line: dieting takes discipline. You will have to watch what you eat and drink, pay attention to the app, and figure out where you are off and on track. If you're expecting MyFitnessPal to solve your problems, you're lying to yourself... which is how you and I got fat in the first place. MyFitnessPal is an amazing tool if you put in a little work. Use the basics to start - calories in and out. Get yourself used to living on a little less food. Be consistent about it. That's the beginning of success.

My coach introduced me to this app to track my daily eating/macros/calories. I've never in my life tracked calories or carbs, etc. so this app has been key as I am more deliberate with goals and progress. I'm amazed at the amount of useful information. Grateful to have this as a tool.

Hi, I have been using the app for about three years now and it has really helped me. However I have different intentions with the app than most do. I developed an eating disorder while I was in high school and I use the app as a way to make sure that I am eating enough, therefore I am not trying to lose weight. Despite this my news feed is constantly blowing up with articles about the newest "top seven ways to loose those last five pounds". As someone who is still fighting an eating disorder those are very difficult to just ignore. Can a option please be added to turn off or unsubscribe to the blog, or at least the weight loss related blogs to make them not visible? Thank you for your time.
Great App to Track Calories 5/5
I love using this app as it helps with those that are counting calories. It also goes as far as listing out macros (subscription allows you to track it even further and in more detail), but if you're solely using it for calories, it's perfect! The articles that comes in the app feeds are also helpful. They arrange from exercising to food ideas. This app has not only helped me count calories, but it also helped me on my way towards my goal (90% there). Thank you for providing such a great tool!

Awful slow and never updated 1/5
I have been using MFP for over a year. I have even been on the beta team for newer versions. The problem is it terribly slow. I have mentioned this multiple times and it never gets resolved. Others experience the same thing. An app should not be slow. Within the app going from screen to screen takes forever. Or at least to long compared to any other app. I so want to get off and look into a new fitness app.
