    Care.com recently started blocking messages with phone numbers. So you cannot contact the Caregiver directly o discuss the job or set up an interview. This causes a lot of problems because your calls don’t go through. It is also frustrating do the job seeker and you as the advertiser because you have to register to except calls which I made through Care.com. Please don’t join because you will be frustrated.

    2/3 of my resume has disappeared. I tried so many times to put in my entire resume and it continuously blocked me after the first four or five lines. You can’t even put an! In without it telling you you have to remove anything outside of A to Z. There are so many problems when trying to navigate this app. When I started paying 180 year (years ago) I was assured that I would have top priority when it comes to being seen. Now they’re trying to get me to pay even more. Apparently all the while I have been on the low-end of the totem pole. So not happy.

    This app is among the worst in terms of UI. The website is the same way. On the app When I decline applicants they stay in the applicant list, confusing me later. What’s the difference between the messaging I see in applicants and the Messages section? I also can’t copy and paste from previous responses to use again, so I have to retype the same message over and over. That happens a lot because applicants seem to never read the actual ad so I have to ask the same questions to screen them out. I wish there was a filter option to only send me applicants that match what I want.

    I only gave this one star because I’m not happy at all. I would give it zero if I could. Don’t be fooled by their “background checks included” if you want to actually get a back round check you have to pay ANOTHER $50.00 on top of the 54.00 you just paid for the month (if you go monthly) had i of known that I never would have subscribed in the first place. I was very disappointed in most of the candidates or applicants and anyone who had a half worth while profile never responded or hasn’t been active in months. This is no different then posting on Craigslist.

    I absolutely hate how this app censors phone numbers with the latest update. It is an absolute pain to not be able to share a phone number so people can contact me or I can contact them. I used to love this app because of the convenience of finding sitters but having to use the app to make calls or send texts is just ridiculous and it has now become tedious to use care.com to find help. While I think the app as a whole is better than sittercity, I use them more now solely because I can share my number. Please let us share emails or phone numbers !!!!

    Care.com blocks more than half of the messages that are sent out to families. They require a monthly payment to unblock these messages. Sorry but I’m not going to pay $20+ a month to work.

    They need to get some techie that knows how to make the app work better then it does. They charge you an arm and a leg and it doesn’t work right. Say it need to update and it’s not due for one yet. So you can’t check to see if you have any job offers.

    The app tells me that i need to do the update. I press update and takes to the app on the AppStore saying to OPEN THE APP then I go to open the app and it gives me the message that there is an update available so I go on the update it takes me to the AppStore... and so on! So frustrating...

    I use to love care.com but I recently nannied for 2 children. A 2 year old and 9year old. The 9 year old always cursed at me and threatened to stab me with knives. And If I didn’t listen to him he said he’d stab me. I let the mom know but she brushed it under the rug and so for my own safety I told her i would not be coming back so she turned me in to care.com saying I was a danger to her kids. Falsely accusing me of nothing when her son was trying to hurt me.. Now I can no longer be on care.com due to a dangerous family and an untrustworthy mom. I’m sorry to anyone that has to go through any of this with families. I have never experienced this in my 2 years of using care.com.

    The app used to be great! But it’s incredibly frustrating with adds popping up and the families cannot properly communicate to me or write phone numbers or emails! I have to spell out the numbers so they can see my cell number.

    This app as of 11-16-2017 10:54AM is stupid. It’s telling me to update the app. I pressed the update button and the phone Downloads the new app and installs it. Now i open the app and its telling me to update the software again. I’m in a time loop....fail app...

    Unless you pay a ridiculous monthly fee, you can’t respond to anyone’s message. They won’t be able to respond to your message either. If you write down your phone number in the message, the app will block it. Just a way for them to eliminate any contact between people, unless it’s trough their expensive system.

    I also hate the changes! I don’t know who received my info- Its just greed. This used to be such a great APP Now I don’t know who received my resume after I try to send them. I updated last year- had s background check - did everything- now they want me to do everything again! I am a retired OR scrub nurse. I have not committed any felonies in the last year, and I have many great references on the site. sc— P.S— I logged onto the site and was told I had to update- I did the update, and it’s still asking me to update! What is up?

    I've complained once before about the actual features of this app but now it's gotten worse. The app is constantly crashing on me and half the time won't let me send messages even after I've bought into their stupid membership. If you are looking for a sitter do not use this app. Their rating in the AppStore is high compared to how many negative reviews I have seen both the site and app get. I've cared for families under the app that have similar complaints about their services. After some research in 2014 a family sued the care.com website because they had lost their child. The child was young and they had paid to run a background check on the babysitter they were considering hiring. It came back clean and so they decided to hire her. Soon after the child was killed from being hit in the head by the intoxicated babysitter. Investigation shows that the woman had a record and care.com hadn't actually done the background check. If you think this site is safe you should think again. Both parents and care providers often times get spam emails from the site that are complete scams. You'd think people paying ridiculous amounts for memberships would have protection against scammers. They don't. I will continue to complain about this app until something is done. The whole thing is a scam and is stealing money from innocent families as well as honest and willing care providers.

    I used to love this app and it was so much fun. But then after each time I emailed a client for nanny services , it blocked me from reviewing their messages . Even to put in a phone number why do I have to set up a phone interview with care chat . I can see maybe charging $10 for someone whose seeking a nanny but $25 $55 That is way too much. And then my clients wrote 4 reviews for me and how great my service was . I had to pay $50 just to see my reviews . This is the most annoying And worst app ever . I had to apply to over 50 jobs just for two to respond and only was able to read 3.

    This app is terrible. It crashes every time I use it, and when I receive a message, it says it needs to be updated, but there is no update available. I have to delete it and reinstall it each time. Of course, it stops working AFTER I paid for an upgraded membership. So frustrating.

    As a tech guy I would love to blow this platform up and start all over. The website and app are worse than healthcare.gov. Messages are lost or never go through. Applicants disappear then reappear. I have no problem paying for this service but they need to hire some decent coders! Right know I can’t even open the app because it says it needs to be updated but there is no update!!!

    Care.com only cares about getting more money from you. 75% if the women listed are not available and if you do find someone Care.com censors your text messages to delete phone numbers because they want you to use their contact app. Very Dishonest. I hope someone takes care.com to court!

    This app isn't safe, I have gotten scam multiple times, not only one time but three times, I have tried to reach to care.com but they never answer. I would like to get a refund for my subscription which it was $73 because I haven't gotten a job yet I have gotten scam. If care.com doesn't take action I will take action and filled a lawsuit against care.com because I have called them and sent them emails and they don't answer.

    Paid for 3 months because couldn’t find the option for the “free trial” and established that sending messages to those who are interested in the job is difficult. Sometimes they can write back, can’t send information to get ahold of them elsewhere. Then I go to look at a background check and I would have to pay to see it. The person applying for the job has already paid to have the background check and I am paying as well! Still have not found care for my daughter. So disappointed.

    When a client posts a review, it can take many days before it shows up on your profile. Also, with CarePro status, takes many days after you qualify before it shows up. If you respond to a voice message with a phone call (not via a text message) you will be penalized -- and you can lose your carepro designation. You MUST always respond with a TEXT message (within the system) to anything that you have received. Your voice response to a voice call request does NOT count. This is a BUG in their system. When you respond to a voice LINK with a voice CALL it should qualify as a response, it should not require another extra text response. Lost my carepro status for a week because of this problem. One more new problem with iOS 11, it is very very very difficult to edit your text responses with him this system. It makes it almost impossible to write a text response because the EDITING capability is very very bad! Also, if you type a response, it sometimes gets flagged with erroneous characters, and it is impossible to edit and fix that problem. This is a very inconvenient system to use. This is what I'm giving the one star rating. Updated. 11/10/17.

    Ever since I’ve had children this is the only place I’ve found care for my children. We’ve live in 2 states and 3 different areas. And it has worked great every time. We have hired 4 great nannies. Only had to rehire because of us moving and the nanny moving. I always recommend care.com when people ask for babysitters.
