Unable to use 2/5
I recently signed up and applied for care.com.. went through the steps as required and went to download the app.. after downloading I clicked on it and it would bring up the home screen and close out.. that's all it is doing.. I'm unable to access anything on the sight/app.. disappointed

This new app is atrocious. I've been a paying customer in the past, but I won't even be a user in the future. This new app is completely ineffective and ridiculous. This is exactly why you shouldn't fix something that isn't broken. I won't be surprised if this is the end of Care.com....

So i've been using care.com for at-least 4 years. It was very helpful being able to find jobs and being able to easily apply for them and speak with the person. That's when only the family had to pay for the site! NOW the care.com corporation is MONEY HUNGRY!!!! you now how to pay to apply for jobs!!! really that's so stupid!! you make an account to find jobs to make money you shouldnt have to pay to apply!!! not everyone has money to waste on applying for jobs that they won't get! I won't be using the app any longer and i hope everyone else wont either!! take your time and resources to sitter city!!!

I recommend this app and site to everyone who is looking for different ways to make money and has time and to those who need a babysitter or a tutor. You can do so much with this app, you can babysit, tutor, watch and take care of animals, do someones grocery shopping, help clean someones house, and so much more. Give it a shot, I honestly can't say I've had a bad experence.

I'm not paying money to apply for babysitting jobs when half of them are bots to use my credits up. To many other FREE babysitting apps and sites care.com got a little to extra.

I like the app but there needs to be a dedicated section for "full time" M-F 8-5 so on... I need to find jobs with these hours and not see all the ones that say "full time" and only have a few hours down.... very annoying

I have used Care.com for over 3 years now and I am beyond disappointed with the new layout. I also think that it is ridiculous that they have turned to this "credit system" for sitters. This app was one of my favorites to recommend, but now I have nothing but dissatisfaction from it.

While the app does get the job done, it's a little lacking. I'd like to be able to "rate" individuals and see who I've already declined, in order to be more efficient/not have to re-read. I'd also like to be able to copy and paste messages, as I find myself typing the same things over and over.

This app doesn't even deserve a star.THIS IS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING.I get the whole premium membership thing that's fine but the whole PAY to apply to a job you won't even get ? Are you kidding me? Just another Money hungry company. I'm sure they have lost 1,000 of members already from this change and there going to continue to lose members.

I've been a user of care.com for about 8 years. The mobile app is a great way to efficiently correspond with a potential employer. I do suggest using the full website when setting up your profile.

I've been on Care.com for a while now and use it for my pet sitting job. Was super easy, just apply and talk to the person needing a sitter or whatever. Now you have to pay? You have to pay just to apply. $11, $20, $40!!? That's absurd. Not using this app anymore.

I don't like that you have to pay for this app. The point is to help you earn money or find affordable child care but then they charge you to do any of these things. Not impressed.

I used this app 2 years ago and got myself a nannying job. It was perfect and easy to use. Now, I have made a new account to look for a nanny myself and I have to pay to look at applicants?! As if having a child isn't expensive enough, you want me to pay $55 for one month to look at people's messages? Absolutely ridiculous. I would rather post an ad on street signs. Also, I went on to the website to see if it was any different and the prices on the website are COMPLETELY different. What was $55/1mo is $39, $36/3mo is $26 and $17.50/12mo is $13 on the actual website. This site has become a total and complete scam.

Care.com used to be a reputable and reliable service for helping to connect sitters with families and did so for free - now you have to buy "credits" in order to even apply for a job. Isn't the point of applying for a job to earn money? What if someone doesn't have the money to pay for credits. This app and website is now a joke. Don't waste your time.

There are lots of users posting jobs and availability and of course not all of them are going to be able to fit your schedule, but for the most part, it's an extremely easy way to vet your options online and post a job. People responded quickly to my job and I was able to interview several people within just a few days. It's exactly as it simple as such an app should be.

The new setup is awful. It takes 20x as long to find/apply to jobs. Finding date night gigs is nearly impossible.

Care.com use to be a reputable website for high-quality nannies to find work. Now, it's a joke. Parents are afraid to use it because of previous horrible nannies and babysitters, nannies have stopped using it because we have to PAY to apply to a position. No thanks, I'll go find my work for free through agencies that will advocate on my behalf. Also, the app and the website have become a mess. This isn't tinder. Finding jobs isn't a social activity. It's long, stressful and difficult. I do NOT want to swipe right for a job that I have to apply for on the spot, nor do I want to play this "tinder" game where I have to swipe through each prospective job. I have been with care.com for about 7 years and am currently on the job hunt and sadly, they are the last resort for me, because of how expensive and ineffective they've become.
The app, I guess I'm supposed to review, while functional, is just as bad with the "swipe-through" function. I will not be using this resource to further my career unless they can figure out how to bring it back to where it was with ease and functionality.
Great app and business model. App never crashes, consistent/reliable UX. Company communicates well. Perfect!
They changed the whole layout and now instead of scrolling through ads you have to go through each and everyone one by one. Now with the update it's confusing to read the ad and see the real time they need you.
I've been on care for about 3.5 years now as an occasional user and you've managed to make the app and the website beyond worse they're almost unusable. Perhaps they are better for the parents, I don't know, but for the sitters the filter is a joke, the listings populate the same results over and over again regardless if you 'pass', and the interface simply doesn't work properly. Messages don't send, I can't change my info. The site is a mess and is anyone paying attention?

It's one thing to charge families looking for care, it's a whole new different issue now that you're charging caregivers. I won't pay to apply for a job, that's insane. I need to make more money, not spend it on applications I already can't afford. Care used to be my go to for finding a job, now I will explore other avenues. You will lose a lot of high quality caregivers and housekeepers if you continue to make changes for the worst.
Update: new update is HORRIBLE. Just made the app worse..
Horrible. Easy navigation on app + website, but there are so many flaws. Many people who post jobs cannot communicate with those applying + vice versa! Care.com should allow people to communicate without having to upgrade. Maybe more people would upgrade if there was something valuable to begin with in the free version. Also, there isn't a way for those searching for jobs to see if a job has already been filled or still available --- care.com should require that the job posted to be update whether it's available or not! I see so many posts from weeks ago still up, yet no one knows if the job has already been filled or still available. It's so frustrating! The communication/messaging issue is the worst thing.... Also, care.com should make it mandatory for those posting a job to reply to those applying + if they aren't interested in that person, at least there should be an automated button that replies for them stating that they aren't interested. It's frustrating not knowing whether the application isn't being looked over or not... Update and make changes immediately. I've found various articles online of people complaining about similar things!!!

I used to like the app, but now you have to buy credits to apply for jobs and have to make a decision on whether or not you want to apply without seeing all the job options. Terrible update
1.App has limited functionality as compared to the mobile website
2.Inability to search/filter by key variables makes searching very manual
3.Inability to sort by rating, or popularity, adds to the above problem
4. Search options much more limited in the app. I was amazed how many more qualified individuals I found on the website as compared to the app
5. Interface is buggy; top headers constantly drifting and covering up things as you scroll, page loads regularly fail to load completely, etc

I've had a care account for some time now and I must say I am not at all pleased with the changes they have made. I signed up on care to make some extra money. Why am I having to pay just to apply to jobs? Also if you get rejected you're only getting 1 credit back when it takes 4 to apply. I don't want to give up on care.com but if some changes aren't made I may just stop using it.

The new update is horrible. It takes forever to load and drains the phone battery. The interface is not helpful when you are trying to pick out specific details.

I purchased a 1 month subscription since I needed to find a new nanny, but since then I have been unable to log into my account. It keeps trying to make me "upgrade". I have sent numerous emails to the support team and the only thing I get back is a generic email stating "they are looking into it". It has been a week and I am wasting time trying to resolve this. They have the worst customer service I have ever encountered. I would give them zero stars if I could.

Its stuck on address and zip code and won't accept anything I put in. The customer service team said it is corrected but when I try to subscribe and put in my date of birth it gives me an address error.
Don't know what I'd do without this app. So nice to be able to hire sitters for my girls. It's expensive though.

Are they seriously thinking that people who are looking for a job will now pay to find one with credits? If you're looking for a job chances are you need money. I hate the new system where I have to immediately decide if I want to pass on a job or not. If this continues I will delete my account that I have had for almost 10 yrs. they already charge the parents. Greedy and tasteless if you ask me with the new update. There are plenty of other outlets out there that are free to look for a job. No need for this.
I hope this app goes dwn the toilet. People come here to make money not to spend money then you can't even look at another profile because you have to make a rapid decision pass or apply with credits stupid if you ask me
