    I just updated and it’s still buggy. I have premium and it keeps telling me people who have applied to my position has closed heir account even though we had just literally sent messages to each other trying to set up an interview. It has happened multiple times with multiple people. I can communicate with people who applied to my position so what’s the point?! Extremely displeased. Not re-upping and will cancel. I also don’t like how they mask contact info even when it’s willingly given. We are grown people here capable of making decisions for ourselves.

    So I have had my care.com account since 2013, back when it was free when you were able to upload your background check and first aid and cpr certifications and could send a personalized message to the parents. So now I log back into my account because I'm looking for a new family to work for and now there are all these extra charges for basic things like reaching out to a family are you kidding me?!?! care.com only "cares" about their pockets. Sorry if this became a rant. There are better sites out there nannylane and sittercity are great!!!

    Anyone looking to provide care or procure care: do yourself a favor and skip this cold, soulless, apathetic, callous, sorry excuse of a caregiving jobseeker/job-giver connection site. Bottom line is that they do not actually "care" at all about people on either side of the equation, are accountable to no-one, and their corporate image is a wolf-sham in sheep's glossy web-page clothing. They terminate "members" (caregivers and care-seekers alike) without notice and for no reason, refuse to provide details on what prompted the decision to term, and effectively ban the person for life with no recourse or appeals process (i.e. no way to clear your name if there has been an error/oversight/malicious yet unfounded complaint/etc). If, like me, you fell for their touchy-feely-warm-and-fuzzy marketing, try a quick Google search for "terminated from Care.com for no reason or explanation", and read some of the thousands of reports of their routine abuse of power in this regard; it is shocking and wholly unfathomable - until it happens to you or someone you know. With over 14M "members" in 2015, they have a virtual monopoly as the go-to site for this particular market niche, and they know it; so like any typical monopoly: THEY. DON'T. CARE. about being a responsible steward or information/connection broker. It's only about numbers and the bottom line - people's actual lives be damned. If you're not deemed "worthy" by the bean-counters or whatever powers or algorithm may be, you're just tossed like the garbage number you are to them; it's as simple as that. You may think they're "righteously discriminating" given the nature of the services being brokered, but you'd be WRONG. It's like The Capital from the 'Hunger Games' had a baby with the Erudite group from 'Divergent', who then grew up to get sorted into Slytherin House in 'Harry Potter': uncaring, unfeeling, uninterested, corporate machine. Actual quotes from termination emails: “Care.com has terminated your membership. Care.com may remove a member for any reason or no reason; any decision to do so does not constitute and should not be interpreted or used as information bearing on the member’s character, general reputation, personal characteristics, or mode of living.” “We do not have an appeals process for members whose accounts have been terminated.” “This decision is final and irreversible. No exceptions will be made to these terms.”

    I have found energetic, hard working, smart, professional and very pleasant helpers on Care. Before I discovered Care, I was literally drowning in a sea of tasks that continually backed up on me and I could never get to the bottom of them. With the helpers I found on Care, I have been able to knock all these tasks out, declutter and organize my house, clear all paper piles and significantly reduce my stress levels. This has freed me up to live my life, take care of my elderly mother, and do some things I enjoy. The reduced stress and guilt is the biggest blessing. I also enjoy the girls, they are very sweet and fun. The cost for the services is reasonable and the trade off to buy my time back is the best money I could ever spend. I am very grateful for Care. It would be impossible to find such an enormous pool of wonderful help without Care. In fact, it is impossible to find any help at all without such a service as this. I highly recommend Care.com. Thank you Care!

CareChat .. 99% of your paying users HATE IT. Give us options. Don’t force CareChat upon those 99% who dislike it. READ ALL THE NEGSTIVE COMNENTS ON CARECHAT ON YOUR DISCUSSION BOARDS !!! ‼️‼️‼️‼️😴 Also... Takes a long time for client reviews to show up. When a client posts a review, it can take many days before it shows up on your profile. Also, with CarePro status, takes many days after you qualify before it shows up. If you respond to a voice message with a phone call (not via a text message) you will be penalized -- and you can lose your carepro designation. You MUST always respond with a TEXT message (within the system) to anything that you have received. Your voice response to a voice call request does NOT count. This is a BUG in their system. When you respond to a voice LINK with a voice CALL it should qualify as a response, it should not require another extra text response. Lost my carepro status for a week because of this problem. One more new problem with iOS 11, on iPhones it is very very very difficult to edit your text responses with him this system. It makes it almost impossible to write a text response because the EDITING capability is very very bad! Also, if you type a response, it sometimes gets flagged with erroneous characters, and it is impossible to edit and fix that problem. This is a very inconvenient system to use. This is what I'm giving the one star rating. Updated. 11/10/17. 01/09/18.

    The service is expensive but gives access to a huge resource of caregivers. It’s a jungle out there, but this is a great tool to search through it. The app is just buggy. It says this member is no longer there but it works and they respond online. The app is the issue. Use the website.

    Seems like it’s a great app for getting a professional babysitting job. But nooooo. $60 for a background check in which no one wants to really hire you unless you have one onsite, $19 for a driving backcheck, and then the cheapest upgrade amount is for 6 months and is $10 a month and you cannot read or respond to messages people send you without the upgrade!!!!!! Money money money. Also I changed my profile picture to a pic of my boyfriend and I smiling together and I received an email saying it was inappropriate and not following guidelines. Hahahaha. Wow. Do not download. Don’t know why this app seems to have a 4.6 rating when most of the comments are negative. Disappointing

    Do not waste your time, or share your personal information thinking that they “care” about people. They “care” only about making $20 from a Monthly iTunes subscription renewing (even after you close your account, or not even using their service ! Complete joke! I’ve wasted more time corresponding with them through email then I did even trying to understand how to set up my profile ! Use resources in your own community before apps like these .

    In hopes of getting small dog walking jobs near me, I started a care.com account and started applying to jobs. But what I didn't realize was that you have to purchase credits in order to apply to anything, so I got some for about $12. I figured it would be worth it, if I earn more than I payed. I applied to three jobs and got no replies, therefore getting no credits returned to me, and I get scams multiple times a week in my messages. Do not use care.com.

    I have grown a business solely on referrals from Care.com! I like how they protect me by filtering the customers and letting me know of anything. I feel safe. I have used other companies, nothing compares. I have also referred other people to use Care.com. It’s that good of a company.

    Rarely loads fully and messages sent to potential applicants are met with “member account closed” when members are indeed still active. Emails—there’s no customer service number—to customer service are pointless; responses keep referring to the website when I am talking about app errors. Website ok; app is awful Update—Feb. 2018....still awful. ridiculous that I’m a paying client of the site and the app is faulty. STILL receive error message when trying to communicate with sitters. No customer service. They need some competition.

    I am a parent who uses care.com to find sitters. This app is difficult to work with from the parent perspective. Messages from applicants disappear at times and are sorted in a way that does always seem to have a reason. Recently, they added a feature which doesn’t allow you to share your phone number with applicants. Instead you have to go through the app to make a call which scrambles both parties numbers. They say it is to protect privacy but it seems more likely that it is to make users more reliant on the app/subscription. At the very least, both parties should have the option to share their numbers.

    I bought the DMV and Criminal history check. They cane back and said no DMV record found. I sent a copy of my drivers license and asked them to please recheck it. They told me to call the company they use and “good luck”! Good luck??? Why should I have to call the company Care.com hired? I paid the fee for the check. Either do your job or give me back my money. I didn’t get a proper DMV check and threw away my money and all they can say is GOOD LUCK??? Total Rip off and they are scam artists and a complete fraud!!!!! Don’t do it!!!

    This is not a free app, although it seems to be. It’s free to set up your profile and to contact people, if you’re looking to get hired for example, BUT either you or the user you’ve contacted must be paying a (high) monthly fee if you want to be able to respond to each other. The number of current users seems too low to warrant getting enough bang for your (high monthly) buck!

    Like I am new to the area and I am a premium member but I still pay for things that’s included. I like it but it can use some improvements. Like the background check should be included with your subscription and you should not need verification for it. I know as a parent I want to know who I’m paying to be around my kids. References should be included in the babysitters profile. Maybe because I work law enforcement I like things a little more detailed. The schedule should not be so standard because not all employed parents have a standard schedule some have rotating and on call. Like I said I like it but it needs improvements!

    I really like the site and have had good success. The only negative thing I can say about it is that it charges people looking to hire caregivers but doesn’t charge caregivers to find work! It also backs you into a higher fee for a shorter amount of time. Otherwise, I really like care! I’ve found some wonderful care givers!!

    I’m a college student who is just looking to make a few extra bucks and this app has not given me the opportunity to even try. I’ve attempted many times to apply for a babysitting job and each time I try the app completely logs me off. Each time I open the app MY ENTIRE PROFILE IS COMPLETELY ERASED!!! I will never use this service again. Absolutely ridiculous.

    Years ago it was a simple app that helped caregivers, parents, and pet lovers find each other, now it’s ALLLLL about money and subscriptions. Can’t read messages without getting a subscription, can’t send some applications without a subscription, this app and website are completely worthless when it comes to trying to find a caregiver job, or looking for s caregiver. Not to mention the SPAMMY calls, texts, and emails sent almost on a daily basis. I just personally use Sittercity it’s what care.com USED to be. Care.com is nothing but spam and wants nothing but money.

    I am issuing a warning to all users. If you use the app then your subscription is handled through ITunes and not the Company. I have cancelled my subscription only to be charged. When I reached out to the Company itself they told me that there was no way they could refund me the subscription fee or cancel my subscription since I used the app. Then they referred me to iTunes Would give it a five star otherwise, but since the Company can’t even control it’s app when it comes to subscription payments I wanted to issue a warning.

    One of the worst Apps I've ever used. Doesn't actually work unless you pay for the subscription. It will allow you to message people but don't ever expect a response because you won't get one unless you pay, and even then it's a long shot. Downloading this App was a complete waste of time and space on my iPhone. Care.com is all about making money, and not actually connecting Nannies to Families.

    I’m a college student looking to get some extra cash to pay bills, so I get on here thinking it’ll be a good way to make cash. After a week of applying for countless jobs and not getting responses, I found out you had to PAY $25-$55 A MONTH to be able to even get a job. I got care to GET MONEY not SPEND money. I don’t have the money to pay for a membership just to be able to message people. So I thought “perhaps I could just put contact info on my apps” NOPEE! Care won’t even let you put an email or number down so you can’t be contacted another way. So here I am struggling for money, wanting to make some cash to pay bills but guess what? I can’t even get a job without paying an outrageous amount. I’m deleting this app and I’ll definitely be putting bad reviews on everything for this service

    I thought this app was cool and a good way to make some side money but I’m not paying to get direct messages from the families that are trying to contact me for the jobs I’ve been applying too. Not only was that not stated when I was signing up but that’s absolutely ridiculous that you have to pay for something like that. I will not be using this app anymore. I will also be sure to let the people i recommended to use the app that this is not worth and it and to not waste the time.

    Care’s app is very basic. The filter only allows you to select one option, rather than multiple options. For example: The app only allows you to select an age range of 20-30 OR 30-40; you cannot select both. The same is true for all of their filters. Additionally, their message app doesn’t have autocorrect. It also cuts off the bottom of your message. You are still able to type, but your screen will not show what you’re typing.
