Apple TV App Doesn’t Work 1/5
I paid for CBS All Access and logged in on my Apple TV. The app crashes every single time I try to watch anything at all, especially if I try to rewind during a show. I’ve already deleted and reinstalled the app multiple times. If it doesn’t start working on Apple TV, I’m cancelling my subscription.

Ive been watch a few shows on this app(bull, big bang theory, ncis, ncis la) and ive been waiting for new episodes to show up for at least a month now. Very dissipated!!

Ads even on "no ads plan", won't save last your watch progress 1/5
They still hit you with ads, even if you pay extra for the "no ads" plan, and they don't volume level them with their shows so they'll blow out your ear drums when they come on.
They don't save where you left off in your watched shows, so have fun jotting it down like the VHS days. Also, enjoy reading spoilers as you try to determine which episode you left off on.
Poorly designed Netflix knockoff. Please scrap the idea and partner with Netflix or Hulu. Your content isn't worth such a steep monthly fee. Your app is glitchy and not intuitive at all.
Constantly crashes 1/5
This app crashes CONSTANTLY during commercial breaks, forcing the viewer to re-launch the app, re-locate what was being watched, resume (or sometimes restart, since resuming will pick up 5-10 seconds before the commercial break which triggered the crash) and hope it doesn’t immediately crash again — which it usually does, so viewers get trapped in a loop that makes 60-minute shows take 70-90. VERY frustrating.

This app spontaneously shuts down at every commercial break and then upon rebooting it, forces me to watch several MORE commercials. I’m so over it. Get your act together. Why would anyone pay money for such a product? Deleting and telling all of my friends. FIX. IT. 🙄

What is going on with this app recently? I have tried to watch CBB 5 times today and the app either completely closes out taking me back to my AppleTV home, it will not play if I pause it at all and then try to play it again causing me to have to start it over, or it won’t even play the episode and will just give me the swirl of death until it bounces back to the episode page. I pay for this app, it needs to work.
Almost impossible to cancel 1/5
They purposely make it almost impossible to cancel your subscription, which I still am paying for because they won't advise me on a simple way to cancel this subscription beyond: "to unsubscribe check your settings in iTunes". I have been trying to accomplish this for the past hour, unsuccessfully... I originally only got this app just for the NFL games on Sunday, and now that football is over, I'm still stuck paying every month because it's extremely difficult, if not impossible, to figure out how to cancel.
I'm currently 39 years old have been enjoying CBS since I was a kid, why they would want to tarnish their longstanding reputation over the simple ability to cancel a subscription is beyond me. From here on out I'll just stick with Netflix and HBO. Once I am finally able to cancel this app, I'm done with CBS for good. This was the last straw, and I sincerely hope you go under as an organization as a result of shady business practices.
More CBS related than the app 1/5
I got the one week free subscription, and with about three hours to spare, went to cancel via the app...no dice. Then the website...no dice, then I called. I was only hold for about five minutes, but then it took 10 minutes to find my account and have them offer a month free. I got it to binge watch Star Trek Discovery, and there was nothing else there to make me want to stick around, so I cancelled. A few hours later, I got my paypal notice that I’d been billed for a month. I called CBS the next morning, and was told that they were very sorry for the misunderstanding and that the good news was that I’d get cbs all access for another month (since they weren’t refunding my money!). 6 bucks isn’t bad for 15 great eps of Star Trek, but I have to say it’s a bit annoying...plus now I guess I’m not eligible for the free month?
As far as the app, it was adequate for me to watch on my iPad and iPhone, and I appreciated that when switching devices it remembered my place in the episode.

Update to post. I bought a new Apple TV hoping for better experience but the app still does not work! Inconsistent and frustrating. Sometimes the app won't launch at all. Other times I will be in the middle of a show and everything freezes. I pay for all access and commercial free yet I get ads all over the home screen. Very unhappy with the experience.

Yeah, maybe it’s only a couple commercials related to whatever hit show CBS wants to promote, but it is still a commercial.

Yeah, so it said “try for 1- wk free”..... I was charged right away. Plus..... commercials? Seriously? And you don’t even have “all-access” content! Not paying for this subscription to have commercials. I already pay for TV, but had missed a few episodes of a previous season that characters were talking about so I wanted to go back and watch them. Nope. Only the current/most current seasons are available. Other channels give you access to their app for free with a paid tv subscription, then I can understand having some commercials. But I’m not paying you TWICE to watch commercials both times! Especially when you only have 2-3 decent shows. I’d rather spend more money for DVR-service than pay for this cr*p. Goodbye CBS.

I have a personal problem with apps that are free to download and charge you to do the thing that brought you to download the app (like, um, watch tv). There was a power outage last night and it was the last episode of a show i watched all season. One would THINK a network would want you to be loyal and watch the shows right? Nope. Try to find it online, and they direct you to the app. Download the app, fill out your life history, and you go to watch it and..drumroll...you have to pay for premium access to watch. AWFUL. This makes me loathe CBS.

It’s a regular app just like the rest, nothing special other than the shows exclusively on CBS. It’s pretty annoying that only text show up when I’m going through the app instead of text & images. I’m not sure if this is an iPhone X issue or a universal issue. It’s also a pain not being able to jump to the middle of a show without watching the ads that would have been played if I would have started from the beginning.
There are so many commercials and you have to pay 6$ just for limited commercials, but I love it otherwise

I was doing great this season as I was able to watch Big Bang Theory with no hassle on this app. I go to check episodes today and now SUDDENLY they want to charge me to watch. NO. I already pay for two streaming services I’m not paying for more. I’m really sad to now not be able to see my show. 0 stars! Useless app.

I watched a couple of episodes for free and then discovered I would have to subscribe. I’m quite sure that if I subscribe I’ll have to see ads as well.

The app has a free trial, after 4 weeks they’ll charge you for a subscription. This is awful because the trial is for 1 week but they charge you after the month is over so you won’t remember it was on there.
Downloaded the app to watch one football game and two months later I’ve been charged $13.

I subscribed to watch Star Trek Discovery. The app works well sometimes and other times doesn’t play anything. I was halfway through an episode and the app froze. Tried to watch on my phone and nothing plays at all. Very disappointed.

I originally downloaded this app so that I may watch Star Trek discovery. So far, it has been extremely terrible, the streaming service is not good at all, when I try to watch a show, it loads and loads or backs up or skips ahead. Considering I am paying five or six dollars a month for the service, it would be nice if CBS could fix the app, to ensure better stability. I do not recommend anyone purchased this app.
Spent over an hour getting this to work while on a flight that had free WiFi but no tv that worked. U-verse worked fine but your show was not available on demand. Your app never worked. Signed up for a week’s free trial that never worked and was about to cancel and then you took my money in a week’s time but the app still didn’t work. WANT TO CANCEL AND GET MONEY BACK BEFORE YOU TAKE IT. THIS IS A RIP OFF. EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED PLUS A WASTE OF MY TIME>

Easily and consistently the WORST streaming app I’ve ever used. Doesn’t work for more than half of any episode on any of my devices. Frequently crashes my chromecast and forces it to reboot. A waste of money. Pirating is a better choice all around.

Backed out until I can create yet another e-mail address for all their spam. You would think they make enough from the advertisements without selling your information.

I subscribed to CBS All Access and it seldom works for live stream. It doesn’t work on my AppleTV, or any devices. I’ve spoken with customer service with no resolution. Up to date app, operating software; all of it. Canceling my subscription for a second time as I had the app a year ago and experienced the same problems. I thought the developers would have worked this out by now. For as big a brand as CBS is, one would think this would work much better. If it were free I couldn’t complain, but the fact they charge money and fail to deliver the service they are selling is frustrating.
I’d suggest not wasting your money on this app.

It is a great app as long as you go “commercial free.” Unfortunately it does cost some but fairly reasonable. One would ask, though, why pay for something you can get for freely broadcasted?
All in all though, it is as nice app.

Stream is really jumpy, skipping and freezing frames several times a minute (other streaming services are working fine). App doesn’t remember where you left off in an episode. I have to turn on captions every episode and caption timing becomes delayed frequently.

*Every* time I go to use the app, I need to reboot my Apple TV to get it to play! Seriously, that is total BS, please fix it, it has been broken for months. After the last episode of ST Discovery, I will probably cancel my subscription. Not worth the hassle... 😡👎👎

The app I am paying for doesn't work on my iPad and iPhone. It wouldn't start at all. Even though I constantly update both app and system. I contacted app support multiple times with no response.

Terrible app! I paid 9.99 for the no commercial plan and as I watch it, it buffers and starts again the 30 seconds later it does it again. No it’s not my internet, I have the fastest internet and pay a pretty penny for it too. Netflix and other companies do not buffer on me. I just canceled my subscription. Oh and I emailed them and they never responded to me.
