Impossible to login 1/5
If you've signed up on their site and used Google, Twitter, or Facebook to log in you can't login into this app. It also glaringly omits the ability to use password managers if you wanted to register an account directly with them. If you've failed to get right the first thing your customer interacts with, I can't help but wonder what else might be wrong with it.

The app. won’t let me create an account!!!!
♥️ it 4/5
It helps me know if there is something happening, if there is a fog delay at schools, snow delays, ice delays. EVERYTHING! Totally recommend!
Alerts Don’t Work 1/5
Don’t receive any notifications and alerts won’t open. Such a huge disappointment. Needs updated but dev won't do it.
Doesn’t work. Left me high and dry during Irma. 1/5
By couldn't help it
I was having issues with this app not alerting me to anything during hurricane Irma. I reported it was not working. Was told to remove the app and download it again. I did that. It now will not let me sign in to it and will not let me register again. Keeps saying error please try agin. Why?!?!
No info in my area! 1/5
I’ve set the alert area to 13 miles around me. When I check it, it shows exactly where I am (FL!!!), but I only see the alerts from North of Tennessee! Really?!?! That does not make any sense! Useless!
We just had the most destructive fire in California’s history! 5/5
Not sure why other reviews were bad. We’re in Northern California and this was extremely helpful during the fires. Thank you for the app!
Too much abuse 1/5
UPDATED REVIEW: I wrote the review below back in June 2017 and uninstalled the app. At my father's request I installed it again. You see, my dad is a disaster and emergency services coordinator and a customer of CodeRED, he's one who sets up these alerts albeit for a different state than where I reside. It hasn't been 24 hours and already I'm going to uninstall because the officials in my state are still too dumb to realize that marking everything as "emergency" makes the service an annoyance and not helpful. Until CodeRED works on actively educating their customers on how to make the alerts useful rather than annoying there is no point in having this installed. You will get more accurate, useful information, sadly, by just looking outside.
Seems like a nice idea but the problem is that every agency marks everything they want to alert to as an "emergency." So when you have missing person alerts disabled you'll still get the full blown emergency alert for some one reported missing on the other side of the state. There are multiple options those issuing the alert can choose, making everything highest priority makes the app useless.
Impenetrable UI design 1/5
This is a hideous app design to subject people in emergency situations to. It appears to be easy to miss important information.
When I adjust the map it shows 19 or 20 warnings for my area… But I can’t see any of those warnings. The net is that it alarms me and then won’t let me see the information. If I do bring up one warning, it will only let me show one, Is not an entire list. There’s no way to navigate the list on the cell phone.
The backend directions of this may be better for the emergency management folks, but it’s really horrible for the people they need to get the notices to.
UPDATED: Re the developer’s response: I get the concept you’re working from but strongly suggest you get some different UX folks to do a review of this for feedback to your UX team. I would also strongly advise that you put your blind testers under some sort of strong pressure while testing to see how well they comprehend your interface under those conditions. Under those conditions it becomes completely opaque. Please, please, please take the feedback on this app to heart and make some adjustments and tweaks to it. You’ve got a valuable start but I fear someone’s going to miss lifesaving information (as I might have) if you don’t work it through some more. I had to go to other less-opaque sources of information during the Northern California wildfires to understand what the situation was.
Website and App logins don’t work 3/5
By I need to tell you...
While I appreciate the developer reaching out seems like a bad design/partnership with officials to have people need to create two accounts. I also got the same alert today 15+ times.... seems odd. Still can’t give it 5 starts yet....
Login works on website and my local county website but not on the app...what gives.... and there are literally dozens of fires in my town and my local gov said to use this because they are “pushing all alerts there” and your app no nothing in that area literally no issues at all.
There is a huge fire across from me, but looking at this app you would never know it. It says there are 26 alerts in my area, but apparently the app is going to keep them secret. I found out about this app because the agencies in my area do subscribe and told me to download this app. I don’t know whose fault it is that isn’t working and I don’t really care.
Great app!! 5/5
Trustworthy and quick. I really have a peace of mind with this downloaded on my phone. The other reviews on here are because people aren't reading the directions. Total alerts means country wide alerts, not your area. And this is a separate login than the desktop version. Easy to use if you read directions !
Code Don’t Know What’s Happening 1/5
I see 13 alerts but cannot figure out how to read them. Poor design and functionality.
Can’t Access 1/5
I had the same problem as another reviewer: my email and password sign me right in on their website, but they don’t work on this mobile app. If they can’t get this to work, I don’t have much confidence In their “alert” system.
Useless App...Use the news 1/5
This is joke, right?
Terrible login mechanism. Needs a year of work. 1/5
By Alex from Costa Rica
You can log in all day at the web site, reset passwords, change anything. Here not only do your passwords not work, your email doesn't, and any attempt to get them to match only creates duplicates that ALSO don't work because you are already registered, right? This app needs to be taken down until it's ready for production. Save yourself some trouble and text subscribe to Nixle.
Horrible app 1/5
By Disappointed User83738
I could write a novel how bad this app is, too much to list & a waste of time.
Don't bother 1/5
Extremely pointless. I might as well just predict everything by peeking out the door. Good idea but whoever designed it should be fired.
Not User Friendly 1/5
Can't even create login account
Not dependable in any way 1/5
Not worth yo r time
By USMC Mom
Horrible.... Says there are alerts but you can't see them.... didn't realize it was a paid app.... piece of junk....
This app is a joke, right? 1/5
1-Star because I can't give it a minus 5 stars. 28 active alerts made me cringe until I realized it was for the whole US. Guess what, the alert in my area, according the code red website, is not even listed on this app. Call me when you have hired some 4th graders to fix your app.
By Keno Queen
After loading this I realized have to pay yearly - no way when you can get free elsewhere- sorry I wasted my time.
Worthless App 1/5
I had a fire not even 10 miles from my home and nothing. No alert. Didn't even show up on the map. Then there were 10 new fires in Carson City, and yep you guessed it, NOTHING. They need negative stars. Waste of money and time.
Not sure 2/5
Not really sure about this app. It says I have 27 active alerts but I can't see what they are. I have tried to click on the bottom button but nothing comes up. May delete.
Separate registrations 3/5
You have to register separate logins for mobile and desktop. Would be nice to just have one login for both.
I haven't had the opportunity to get notifications yet is reason for only 3 stars
Wasted My Money! 1/5
When I try to enter settings I always get an error message. I have all kinds of alerts set up but I never get any alerts although my local news forecast are running alerts across the screen. Waste Of Money!!!
Gentler sound alert needed 4/5
By Ear row tated
Please add a gentle chime or similar as a sound alert option. Currently available sounds are overwhelming.
Just under severe storm warning 2/5
And it doesn't do anything! Been that way for a month
Love the real-time local alert notices 5/5
I use and love this app. It shows real time issues, like when a tree was down in town and certain streets were blocked, etc. and just now, our local 911 center's major phone line to their center went down & the new alert gave a local phone number to call till 7pm tonight.... I still haven't received a message from our local EMS Facebook page letting us know about the issue.
It will search up to a 25 mile radius of where you are, when you set your phone for that app to use your location, even when you aren't using it right then :-)
It has been a great app !!!
No Credit for Subscription Renewal 1/5
I also renewed my subscription and the app still says it has expired. Have waited several days, signed out and in, rebooted and so forth. Emailed tech support and they said to send them a screen copy of my renewal receipt. Uhh...didn't get a receipt. Won't be renewing again.
Bugs?? Not happy w/app 1/5
By not a happy app camper
I have been getting a significant amount of code alerts however I have no idea what the alert is about or where it is. This app gives me nothing to go on.
I wanted to be alerted to the fire danger at our other property. App only works for your current location and a radius around that. Also does not support fire danger. Disappointing
Major buggy 2/5
It does generate alerts, but it has major bugs. I have the alert radius set for 10 miles but get alerts from places over 40 miles away. I also can't change the really annoying alert sound. I contacted support on this, and they said to log out and log back in to effect the change. Didn't work. It would be valuable if it worked right, but it doesn't.
This update does not recognize my paid subscription 1/5
My subscription was renewed and is valid now and for a number of months hence. Your update now says it expired. Please fix this. I will not pay you TWICE. Thx
Locked Up Already After Just A Few Hours 1/5
I live very close to the Goodwin fire in AZ. I only had the app for a few hours and it locked up. Now what?! That was a waste of money.
Took My Money But No Service 1/5
Title says it all. Tells me I need to renew. I did. No service. Try to renew again and I'm unable to because I already have. What a rip.
WORST APP EVER!!!! 1/5
I get alerts from everyone except code red. And always experiencing network or server problems. What could be an AMAZING AND LIFE SAVING APP IS NOT.
Too many test alerts during the day. 1/5
App sends out multiple alerts during the day. All of which are TEST alerts. I'd understand 1 test alerts a day. However, 3-4 of them a day are quite annoying. So much so that I'm deleting the app. Great idea but still needs work.
Waste of space and battery 1/5
Consistently shows multiple alerts, without any detail of what those alerts are. Goes off multiple times a day with the only alert showing that it is a required test of the system. Has the potential to be a great app, but needs a lot of work to get there.
Not worth the drain on your battery 1/5
I would have loved to give this app a 5 star rating, but sadly, no.
In order for it to work, you must provide personal information and allow it to track your every move 24/7. If you disable the GPS it says, "Error. User has denied to use current location."
When you set up the app you are allowed to show a radius where you would like to monitor for alerts. It should not matter where you are at the precise time an event occurs. If you are away from home, you still want to be notified if there is an emergency situation around your home.
99.999999% of the time the top of the app will display "17 current alerts," but they are 3000 miles from your home.
This app bills itself as a great alert system should anything happen in your area, whether it be in the radius you set up when you programmed the app or in the area that your person is located.
In order for the app to function, you must allow it total access to your location at all times. This also drains your phone's battery quickly.
It's a good theory, but in practical matters it fails miserably.
Doesn't work 1/5
It doesn't even allow me to log in. Nothing but error messages. I'm deleting this app now.
Great concept but fix the issues 1/5
I also can't login after registering. And it tells me there are 25+ warnings or alerts, but can't find out what they are. Not useful at all.
Good idea but isn't working 1/5
I receive alerts but can never find any details. App says there are 37 alerts in my area but no details can be found ... which makes it pretty useless.
Doesn't work 1/5
By What is the problem??
Alert radius settings don't work, I was getting alerts for events well outside of my set radius. When the alert sounds (and believe me, you can't miss it) and you try to open the app from the alert notification it crashes every time.
Error Message 1/5
I have downloaded this app 3 times, stubborn I guess. When I attempt to use it, all I get is an error message. It is a useless app, so don't waste your time. Hopefully something better will be available soon.
Useless - inability to login makes app useless 1/5
Unable to login due to app error rendering the app useless.
No clue provided to indicate why or if this is a known issue.
Several other reviews already staying this.
Feels like another company running out of the garage that can't keep up with initial success.
Can't sign in worthless! 1/5
Tornado warning 5/5
By Texas trip
Attending a business meeting in Texas and received a tornado warning. No sirens or other alerts in the hotel. I delayed my meeting until the storm passed. Well done. Thanks!
Constant GPS use kills your phone 2/5
The concept is a good one. But the implementation of that concept in this app leaves a lot to be desired. To work as designed, it needs to know your geolocation constantly, which means it's using your GPS *constantly*, draining your phone's battery in record time. That was my experience, the very first day I installed it (yesterday), and I deleted it last night. What good is an emergency app if it kills your phone so fast that you wont get the notifications anyway??
