I use mostly the drug lookup feature as an EMT, but I like the quizzes as well even though they are mostly above my pay grade. Updates have made it better for me.

I have used Epocrates since my old Palm Pilot days. Reliable and comprehensive and have not had problems with logging in or with updates for about 15 years. I'm a family nurse practitioner and this has been my first go to resource for quick look ups. I'm not disappointed.

  • Used to be much better 2/5

    By The Silverfox
The new version has the problems. Very slow update. Main problem is does not support copy and paste for password entering. I don't have five minutes to type in my password.Plus, now, I can’t use it as a health professional without paying at least $160 per year!. I'll just have to use Medscape or Lexi (through our hospital) even though I'd prefer Epocrates (and have used for over 15 years!).
  • RN approved 4/5

I'm a board certified general surgeon, as a medical student I used this app. It was somewhat helpful, but now a days all this info is free on Google. Save your money. I also paid for auto renewal and it was monstrously frustrating to cancel this service. Save your money and just google

This is my go to app for all things related to medications. Although I do occasionally check other apps, this one is the fastest, with easiest usability features to speed my clinic day.

  • Best drug app ever! 5/5

    By lkchurch8
I am a Nurse Practioner and a Nurse-midwife. I use this app daily at work with my patients and at home with family and friends when they have a question regarding their drugs. The drug part is free. If you want diseases, signs & symptoms, formularies. And much more. The annual fee of $159.00 is worth the price.

Awesome app, has been helping me survive since 2002. As a student, if you are wondering which app to use, use this one. This and UpToDate is all you need to conquer the building, from Maternity to ICU, from dialysis to OP treatment. I do agree with Vnstr7 that the most annoying thing about app is that the notifications that pop up are totally in my way while trying to work. Only bad thing about app, but it's a biggie. ANNOYING!!!

Epocrates is the first reference I used to use to get the latest information about a medication or a disease. I REALLY appreciate what Epocrates offers!!!
  • Indispensable resource for healthcare professionals. 5/5

  • Very useful application 5/5

    By Nemri
I use it everyday, very helpful, but also expensive.
  • Love it except.. 2/5

    By Vnstr7
If I'm a paying customer, give me the option to TURN OFF in-app notifications/news. This is EXTREMELY annoying when it pops up every time the app is opened, it's an unnecessary step in using the application. I've already given Epocrates feedback multiple times but this annoyance continues to happen.
  • Pharm tech/LVN 5/5

    By Pquan
I've been using this app since 2004. Love it. Very useful in every aspect. I've used many different apps but tend to come back to this one.

Works great and it's free!!! I always like to look up mechanism of action to help me understand how the drug works.
  • Terrific 5/5

    By Keys&Fish
Use it frequently and current version has been greatly improved and includes CPT codes and ICD 10 codes, all easily accessible rapidly found. Indispensable for my practice. Thank you! RLP
  • Best overall medical app 5/5

    By Heidicrnp
Epocrates is the best overall medical app when you need something fast. Drugs, labs, diagnosis. If you have trouble with it call the tech support and they will help you. Don't just give up on it. Totally worthwhile.
  • ARNP 5/5

The basic Epocrates is completely essential in clinical practice. Before I got it, I wondered why my partners were so into it. Then I got it, and I understood. Totally essential.

  • Take two of these (nuts) 5/5

  • $175 scam thus far 1/5

    By Teamrazor
I paid the $175 for the upgraded version. Credit card was charged. Itunes receipt in hand. Emailed the Epocrates help desk 3 times requesting for the upgraded version to be downloaded to my account. Still no luck at it's been over 8 hours since the purchase. Buyer beware!
