I love learning from this app!
Great collective doctor mind app 5/5
By Marianna oftalmic
Idea, design and usability of the app are really very nice.
Collective mind of experts helping each other in quick patients' diagnostics in any location on Earth - that's how I see it. WIshing the team great success.
Awsome I love this app 5/5

The only down side to this app is the lack of language translation. Many wonderful cases but if you only speak one language it's no fun
Please update with a translator
Great Learning App 5/5
I like using this app to see interesting medical cases from various medical professionals.
Verification is not possible unless you are an MD or RN 1/5
After 2 years of figure1, I am so weary that I am not even able to click on posted html article links in figure1 (they only allow "verified users" to click on link to take you to article; God forbid you try to to post an interesting case). Weary of trying to get verified by sending 23 peer-reviewed articles (all cited in PubMed). No, not a Physician/Nurse, etc. No, not a 1st year student (all students bet verified but, alas, I am old). However old, I still think that I could potentially learn from articles posted and and maybe even contribute in my area of study as Sr. Research Scientist in Neurobiology for 10+ years at WUSM (top 2 or 3 in med schools?). Looking to delete my Figure1 account please? Can't wait for your revenue model to be replicated in new app that I can jump on.

Unusable: requires account creation 1/5
Can't use app without creating an account. Terrible and unusable for this reason.
Home screen app for me. 5/5
By Benjamin Stone
This app has proven to be very useful both in my practice and as a form of continuing education, very helpful.
Love this app 5/5
Change profession option needed. 4/5
It's a great app I like to look at to get tips and hints and have a place from where I can begin learning about a disease, but I wish it offered the option to change my profession.
I started as a basic university student when I downloaded the app, but I am now an AEMT and plan to go to med school. I don't want to get a new account because the one I have has a lot of cool cases, but I can't comment.
This app is great for discussion among medical professionals. Lately I've noticed that it takes some effort for me to find cases in English. Perhaps it's time to make an option to sort cases by language.
Great app, but it freezes every few minutes and then it takes a while to find where I was.
Great but has flaws 3/5
Great app! Just wish the feed didn't reset to the top every time I left the app, can be frustrating scrolling and searching where I left off. Also liking comments causes the app to crash.
Love it but.. 4/5
By Cara gymnast
I love it but I wish anyone could comment because I saw somethings in an X-ray that nobody in the comments has said yet. And I wished I could comment but I was unable to. Other that that I love the app.
Lost in translation 4/5
Love the app but really wish it had a translation feature!
We need it 5/5
Hope you guys allow the app in Sudan and other developing countries. It would help us a lot . Thank you !
Great feed, unless you leave it 4/5
Everything about the app, from the concept to the content is great, but there are several major bugs hindering experience.
When I navigate outside of the app and return, the feed crashes and restarts at the very top, losing my place. It happens every.single.time. This also happens when I leave the feed to see the actual case. Leaving the feed = crash.
Love it 5/5
One of my favorite apps, social media for medical professionals 🙂... Good job!!
Nursing student 5/5
As a nursing student, this app provides me with a challenge, and helps me learn something new everyday. It's a great app for medical professionals!
Excellent resource and learning tool 5/5
Great app idea, great international community and great interface. I love how the design and features have changed since the beginning-- I just miss being able to scroll through a photo set on a case from the main feed without having to click on the case itself. Spectacular tool though, I've expanded my knowledge exponentially! Thanks for your hard work.
As a high school student and aspiring doctor, this app really gives me a sense of direction in what field I might want to pursue.
Really great 5/5
It's useful for medical student to learn from and allows curbside for practitioner. Quizzes for learning was never intrusive. Working with their customer support was simple and painless. 👍🏻👍🏻
Great learning tool 5/5
By Kameron Dee
Great learning tool for all.
Great App 5/5
Love this app so much!
It's fun, educational, and interesting! As an RN is great to see things that I may not always see in the place/location I work... and as a nurse in neurosurgery, it's also fun to share some of the great things I come across!
Instagram for medical professionals 5/5
This app is amazing. Great for medical professionals and students. It's so interesting and I've learned a lot too!
Please, for the sake and sanity of the rest of us, make a version of Figure 1 for Paramedics/EMTs. I have found myself not using this app because there are always Paramedics and EMTs commenting on everything whether pertinent to their training or not. Even if the person posting specifically directs a question to medical students as a teaching moment, there will be another know-it-all Paramedic that can't resist showing the world how much they think they know. Why would any medic/EMT need to know how to manage a a pt's hospital course? They don't. Many agree with my sentiment at my hospital and I'm sure they do at others as well.
Great idea 4/5
Amazing idea. However, after scrolling down and looking around, I noticed that there isn't much stuff relevant to EMTs and Paramedics!! I'm an EMT and would love to see more EMS content. I understand the importance of nursing competency and med school students, but EMTs and other ancillary staff also deserve some attention! Again, great idea, just would love to see ancillary staff of all types included.
Fix it soon! 4/5
Ever since the update it crashes every time I open it. Disappointed. I love this app!
Updated review. 3/5
By john mayer fannnn
I'm a PA-S currently on my rotations and I loved this app when I first downloaded it with all the cases and the conversations that accompanied it about differentials and different treatment approaches. I'm not sure what has happened now, but whenever I look at a case and look to see the comments all I see are a bunch of "wow, that is so cool!" Or "my son-daughter had that happen to them". This is an app meant to educate and learn not a place for your Facebook stories/comments. I'm really disappointed in the quality of conversations about medicine now. I liked it much better before...
Great app - glitches make it miserable to use! 4/5
I love this app. It's an app that I spend time on daily. Ever since the most recent update a few days back, it is not worth signing on. Every time someone comments on a case you are following, it pops up in the banner mode and kicks you back to the beginning, or throws you out of the case you are reading. I read one line about 30 times because it kept throwing me out. Extremely frustrating! I gave up and signed off. And I have all notifications turned off when this happened. Please FIX!
Love the app but... 5/5
I love the app. Educational and interesting. However, since the update 6/3, I can't open it anymore! It crashes immediately. Once the bugs get worked out, I'm sure it will be great again.
Not working well after latest upgrade. 1/5
Loved this before the update. Please fix the bugs! Pictures aren't loading!!

Best app ever
Interesting but not great for learning 3/5
When I downloaded this app I was under the impression that the posts would be clinical cases for readers to make guesses to diagnoses and treatments from a poster who already knows the answer AND can explain it. However, this app lets anyone post, and the good posts ( like the ones I was just referring to) get buried under nurses or medical students asking for help solving their personal clinical issues...I feel like there are plenty of other forums and online resources that are better suited for those purposes. As a medical student, myself, I would get more out of this app if it was regulated to some extent (maybe and up/down arrow to get rid of unwanted post?). Another idea: have a section of the post be the answer to the question. If the poster doesn't have an answer, they can't post.
Love, love, love 5/5
It's the Instagram of medicine! I enjoy how it's set up by specialties. Wide variety, great pictures!
Fantastic! Addicting. 5/5
By Eighties' Girl
Not for the squeamish. A must have for the medical professional! This app is for serious professionals, and should be respected, as the cases in here are real patients. Continuous learning and teaching environment.
Need bug improvements 3/5
Love the app! However, when reading stories the app goes blank and pushes me up on the feed when new posts are put up.
Kudos: AGAIN! 5/5
Your "Search" restoration cemented your place as the #1 App for Healthcare Professionals. Thank you.
Fun when bored! 5/5
I'm a nursing student, and I just finished my first semester of clinicals. When I get bored, I sometimes go look at new posts and actually learn a lot with just playing around with the app for 10 minutes. It helps especially with terminology (a wholeee lot), radiography, and various tests you would run for specific signs and symptoms. You get to see a lot of what most nursing students don't see during clinicals along with the comments about what other nurses and physicians recommend or would test. It's pretty entertaining, and I'd love to be able to diagnose one of the rare cases I've seen on the app 😏
Potentially Great App 2/5
This app is great if you want to gawk at medical stuff, not so great if you’re actually looking to learn. I look at Figure 1 because I want to learn. I want to see more things than I can't see on a daily basis in a clinical setting. I was under the impression that DX, labs and other pertinent info would be posted along with the photos. But really, most of the posts are just guessing games ("Help me figure out what this is!"). If I wanted that, I could go to any medical specialty forum online. I could even go to reddit for this. And it's not helpful to me if everyone with an opinion can leave a comment, then having to scroll down the comments to find where the original poster decides to reply with the correct answer -- if they even reply. I follow medical case study instagram accounts because they tell me what I'm seeing and the treatment and other pertinent information. You don’t get any of that with most posts on here. I think Figure 1 can be a powerful educational tool if its own mediocre posts and obnoxious comments don't kill it first.
Ok with some issues 2/5
The app is ok- some great content but a fair amount of mediocre images/comments.
Three major issues:
-the user can't change their specialty on their own (requires an email etc)
-the user cannot delete their account on their own (feel like this should be illegal)
-the answers to the caseoftheweek aren't available until a day after so I never see the answers to cases (maddening)
-incessant emails to "verify my account"
Seemingly little things but really pretty frustrating and make the developer seem less trustworthy
Great way to do informal case studies, but... 3/5
I really have enjoyed this app. The community is great, and everyone stays professional, but the comments section needs a complete re-work, it's EXTREMELY confusing, and can cause the same question to be asked over and over. Time stamps for comments and cases would also really help. I have also not been verified as a medical provider after nearly a week. This app has HUGE potential, and can really help other providers, but it does need some work.
I love it but ... 5/5
I used to go on here to learn different diseases and give ideas. I've even changed my major because of becoming interested in a different area. Now I can't even get on it. It closes as soon as the app gives me the logo page. What gives. This was a great tool and definitely helped me stump a professor! Fix it! Please!!
Amazing learning tool. 4/5
By Zach The Wake Green
Great app for students! I'd like to see two improvements:
1. Easier way to adjust profile titles without making a new account (med student to physician, etc.)
2. Displayed definitions at the top of hash tag links to quickly orient those that are unfamiliar with a given condition. As of right now, I find it best to use the app on my phone with a PC also available to quickly look up definitions. Would be great to consolidate down to just the phone!
Fantastic app, needs a few improvements. 4/5
As someone who started out just being interested in medicine, now a student, I have fallen in love with this app. I have learned so much and seen some simply incredible cases and healthcare professionals. I would recommend it to any of my fellow students, educators, or colleagues.
However, I would love it if the app would allow me to change my status as being no medical occupation to EMT, and be able to change it when I become a paramedic. Also, every time I log out, it completely removes all the cases from the "news feed", and I can't seem to load any of the cases that were there before I logged out.
Again, fantastic app, will be well above 5 star ratings if it is improved.
Can’t get through the log in screen 1/5
Just downloaded it to my iPad and tried to sign up for a new account, but when I click “Select Specialty,” it brings me to a blank screen where there is nothing to select. If I press cancel and try to sign up, it directs me to select a specialty. So I can’t even use this app, though I was excited to try it.
Great app but needs a few fixes 4/5
Awesome product! The app needs a few fixes though. There is a delay from the time you press an arrow for a vote to the time it shows, often resulting in me pressing it multiple times, sometimes causing an error. I really liked being able to swipe through pictures on the main feed as well as opposed to clicking into each case to scroll through pictures. Would be prefect if that came back!
Great app, great community. Needs some updates. 5/5
Figure 1 is a great educational app for medical professionals and students alike. There is always someone available to answer your questions. However, the updates...The verification process is buggy, the comments are unorganized, the app crashes, and the layout could be "cleaned up" a little.
Love this app 5/5
Thoroughly enjoying and learning from this app
