Stop Changing it Up 4/5
Love the app but will YALL PLEASE STOP CHANGING IT!! It was perfectly fine before the last update. I get the bugs and making it compatible with other phones, but the way it flips to the previously used pages makes me motion sick. The app is really good tho.
Drains battery 2/5
I turned off location services but still kills the battery
Swipe away cards feature is gone?! 2/5
By Omar Casanova
Recent update got rid of the ability to easily swipe away news cards. Now you have to tap the settings icon then tap hid story. What's the point of this change?
No swipe delete 2/5
By ultimate physics
Used to be able to delete a card by swiping away. No longer possible. Now have to select “hide this story” from pop-up menu. PITA.
Good, but developers keep making bad design decisions to force user behavior 2/5
I have used the app for many years and find the core functions to be incredibly useful. However, recently the development team has been removing useful UI features in what looks like an attempt to force user behavior in a direction that suits them. This has made the app far more cumbersome to use and is making me reconsider using it on a regular basis.
For example, the team removed the option a few releases back to clear all open pages you have previously visited, which has no rationale from an end user perspective. Why would I want to manually swipe up on 50 cards to remove each instead of just hitting "clear all"?
Now, in the most recent build, it is no longer possible to clear cards on the home page you don't want or are done reading by swiping them away. You must hit the cumbersome small ellipsis target in the upper right corner and select "Hide this story", which takes much longer and is relatively speaking a great deal more effort and less natural to perform.
Intuitive core design features like this do not just disappear suddenly without a reason; the team obviously feels that by actively discouraging certain user behavior, they have something to gain. I have no doubt someone in middle management has crunched some numbers and decided that users are more likely to linger on cards the Google engine has decided they should look at (potentially the highest ad revenue generating ones!) if they force them to pause momentarily and consider whether they should deliberately make the effort to clear a card. Maybe this drives more traffic to the pages at the top of the card list, but it ultimately results in a frustrating and non-user centric experience. One that I hope will eventually lead to an overall decline in the use of this app until some suit realizes that chasing short-term revenue gains at the cost of the app's user base wasn't such a brilliant idea after all.
Its alright 2/5

I’ve used Google for as long as i can remember. It’s always been good. I gave Bing another go a few months ago and I haven’t looked back. I’m using Bing for now until Google can win me back.
Bing search has proven to be every bit as capable. Give it a go.
Please roll back change 3/5
Please add back option to swipe to either side to remove articles in newsfeed.
App change 1/5
The fact you can’t swipe away stories has to changed. Liked the app until the upgrade
Can’t bring it to mind 5/5
Sometimes I use Google for things that I already know but just can’t remember. It has provided clarity for me on multiple occasions.
Good App, but one little issue (Swiping Cards Right.) 4/5
I personally enjoy this application. Like everyone else it's our go to search engine, but with the most recent update, a cool feature that let's you swipe cards in the main page was eliminated from the codex. I know you can find other ways to eliminate cards, but I also speak on behalf of those that finds it a must need. Hopefully the next update will add that back into the app's algorithms. Thank you.
Dissapointed — new release REMOVES swipe to dismiss. Why?! 2/5
By Bill Brown
I have used Google app for iOS, well, forever.
And now, some numnut 23 year old developer has REMOVED the capability to “swipe to dismiss” functionality in the feed.
Can’t swipe news stories anymore. 1/5
This latest update broke my ability to swipe news stories left when I’m done with them. Really irritating bug. iPhone X.
Bug: Can’t swipe cards anymore! 3/5
Bug report: Can’t swipe cards on the main tab! on the iPhone X
Love the app, latest update tho 1/5
The latest update has broken the swipe to clear on the first page on my new iPhone X!
The other screens will let me clear but not the main page.
I love the app, wish it was optimized for the iPhone X screen of course but that's a want. But being able to swipe to clear on the first page is a must.
Do love the Google prompts for what I would want to read.
Where is Google goggles??? 2/5
Where is the camera button? It was such a cool function?
This app became redundant (and useless) once Google goggles disappeared....
Oh yea, links don't always open web pages either. It's a problem....
Battery drain 1/5
By Paul Cathalifaud
I have never eeeever eeeeeever used this app for other thing than authorizing logins in other devices. Which Rarely happens, like once per month.
Yet Google app consumes ~7% of my battery per day, with background refresh turned off.
Card Swipe 4/5
I stopped using the app. Please bring back the card swipe
Slowest of the Browsers 2/5
Works well once it loads. Also works better if via the voice button. VERY slow to open and VERY slow to accept typed searches. Safari is better. Firefox is better. iCab Mobile is better. With the resources behind them, the Google browser should be better.
Swipe Away Feature 1/5
Bring back the swipe when done feature you heathens
They removed the swipe to delete feature... 2/5
Such a step backward in usability.
Ads ads and more ads 1/5
I cannot say enough.i don’t want to see any ads. I should have the right to play a game or whatever without being bombarded and irritated by these ads. Which I could choose another search engine besides google.
Biased feeds 2/5

Hey I have something to say about your website google l like it. was perfect bye
Pretty useful but buggy 3/5
Cards frequently return after you dismiss them. Also sometimes doesn't let you swipe away cards.
Bluetooth in car 2/5
Newest update removed swipe to hide in the feed.
Bring swipe-to-hide back!!! 2/5
Seriously... which of us users said “wow, this swipe-the-story-away feature is really annoying”?!? You took it away in android, it so happens I switch to iPhone and see that the swipe still exists. Great! Well now you’ve taken it away. Look, I appreciate this news feed based on my interests. But if the app is annoying to use, I will treat it just like any other. The 2 week countdown to bring the swipe back begins NOW.
Can't swipe news 2/5
Bugged in this version
By Kiko's Computadora
It keeps crashing freezing on iPhone X if you clear the pages the last one will freeze
Swipe to remove? 1/5
By Mogwai Jr.
Why did they remove swipe story to remove?
Boo, hiss! 1/5
I used to love this app, but now it won’t let me swipe to get cards off the screen after I read them. Please, please bring back that feature! Otherwise I’ll switch to other news apps, but I prefer to use this one because it’s my favorite.
Can’t swipe away news article??? 1/5
By This blows a little
I opened the app yesterday and I can no longer swipe away the news story’s I don’t care about. now I have to tap on two different buttons to make a story go away which is stupid. Plz stop changing everything almost every month it’s annoying.
Can not swipe to dismiss 3/5
You used to be able to swipe articles away now I have to click a button and click another button to “hide”. This is inconvenient, much easier and quicker to swipe away. Who’s bright idea was this? Other than that the app works the same but I do find myself avoiding it more now that I can’t get rid of stuff quickly.
Clear All Tabs! 5/5
Simple and fast.
Can no longer dismiss cards by swiping? 2/5
I've liked the app, but seems like I can no longer dismiss any of cards by swiping. Looks like you have to now click on the little menu, then select dismiss from the menu. Much more cumbersome user experience.
Can’t swipe away cards on homepage 2/5
Why did you remove the ability to “swipe away” cards??! This was the best feature of the app. Please bring it back!
Important feature missing 1/5
What happened to swipe to dismiss? I think everyone wants it back. Why would you guys take out such a great feature? I want it back. I guess I’ll have to go back to using Safari. I’ll miss you Google.
Five stars a week ago 1/5
I’d give this app 5 stars a week ago. Today it’s only two stars. One of the nicest feature was the ability to swipe away articles that I am not interested. As a few days ago this feature is not working anymore. Nice upgrade google.
Like news feed 3/5
Loved targeted news feed BUT it heavily drains battery. News are incomplete from time to time. Too many ads. I know it is third party web sites. But they appear within your app context
Can’t read full articles 1/5
When you click on an article you only get the first paragraph and endless amounts of blank space. If I want to see the entire article I have to open it in chrome or safari. LAME! You can no longer swipe articles away. App went from good to terrible.
Used to be great- 1/5
By Terrible omg
Swiping cards no longer works, the ads allowed in every article is so annoying that I don’t read the articles. Only 1/4 of the pages download half the time. I’ve used this app since it’s inception but will turn to safari.
Clear all tabs??? 1/5
Clear all tabs option is gone please bring it back
Please update the app
Also the swiping tabs feed is gone... what happened to that feature???
Update removed swipe to dismiss 2/5
By Santee Jr.
The latest update removed swipe to dismiss of cards. Why they would move away from such functionality is beyond me. It’s takes milliseconds to swipe and secs to click the options of the card, delete, and so forth. This seems like a minor detail till you find yourself spending more time omitting cards and customizing your experience than you do reading through them.
Killing my battery life 1/5
This latest update is eating my battery life. Google, fix this please. Thanks
Lost swipe feature 4/5
I use google all the time, for the most random searches. I enjoy the cards and article suggestions (usually). I loved the ability to swipe to clear after reading or to dismiss. That swiping feature seems to be gone, and I find it irritating I now have to open a menu on a card and choose to hide an article. First world problems, I know, but why would google remove a feature of such convenience? Five stars if it returns (please, google!)
Removed a great feature! 1/5
The google app is typically my go-to source for my news as its all compiled in the nice and orderly cards. However they removed the feature to swipe away the cards as you’re done reading, and that was one of the nice & unique things this app had. Now it’s just like every other news app!
Can’t swipe right 1/5
Can’t swipe right to discard the cards this is annoying. Please fix.
Does not load properly 2/5
Many of the links to stories do not load properly when you click on them ... only the first few lines load. This has been a problem for the past few months and has driven me back to safari.
App infuriates me 1/5
By Celsius c
The weather interface is a joke. The news slides do not slide away and longer, making eliminating articles you couldn’t care less about painful to remove. The feed consistently feeds me 1-2 day old articles. The app worked well but has gotten progressively worse.
Loss of swipe 1/5
This app went from 5 stars to 1 yesterday, both on phone and iPad. I don’t think the app updated yesterday but I can no longer swipe right to remove cards. Makes it useless for me as a newsreader.
Needs Some Tweaks 2/5
For whatever reason the new update took away the easy swipe to get rid of stories you weren't interested in or wanted to hide and that really bugs me as someone who had really gotten used to that and don't like having to go into a separate menu to make a story I don't want to see go away.
I've ended up accidentally clicking on them more often than not which is frustrating.
In general I really wish there were a way to blacklist terms that I don't want to see pop up in my news feed because some posts can be upsetting. The interface is also a bit clunky for my tastes and it can be very very slow to load.
