Grindr Is CRUEL 1/5
I'm not sure who thought it was a good idea to create ad messages. Oh hey I have a notification maybe it's that really nice guy I was talking or maybe someone new wants to talk to me. Opens the app only to find out no it's not a person that actually sent you a message it's just some automated ad. You people are sick, there are plenty of other ways to make ad revenue for an app. The only thing the creators of Grindr care about is money and making plenty of it.
I'm sorry 1/5
I understand that your disabled but I'm here to support your mental challenges xdxd jk kys
Advertisers beware! 1/5
By Mark H, Berkeley
Companies who advertise on this website should know that 99% of all click throughs on Grindr are FAKE. Ads are placed in such a way that even if the user doesn't click on them, they are activated.
Any advertiser considering Grindr should use the site for a couple days and this will be confirmed.
Was better 1/5
Too many ads and too many errors,I don’t mind and ad or two but my god what the heck? No longer a good app. It's more frustrating to use it’s worth.
Account Suspended?! 1/5
I've used Grindr a few times before, and had some success with it. But within the past year, I've had two account suspensions for absolutely no reason. I would contact support, but I would just be told that they won't fix it and they don't have to tell me why it's suspended. Not to mention the very limited blocks. I'd get perved on by creeps, and not be able to block them. Why?!
Too many bugs 1/5
My settings should not be set to default every time I log in. I shouldn't have to keep deleting the same messages over and over. When I tried to do feedback on the app itself it asked for a credit card number.
Forget settings 1/5
The app keeps forgetting my setting's preferences and turning them to default. Very annoying
Ridiculous amount of ads 1/5
Multiple pop up ads to get a message and half the time they are bots. And to top it off have weed through the email ads too. Horrible app anymore
Deleted app due to all the ads when clicking on a profile to view
Its gay 1/5
Can't do it anymore 1/5
I've had Grindr for a very long time. It used to be a great social app where you didn't have to pay to not be annoyed by it, which was it's true key to success. Now it's ad after ad everywhere you turn around. So today, I finally deleted it. I hadn't used it in so long because it was more of an annoyance than fun. Paying for the app doesn't do much good either, as there aren't any benefits to paying. I have a friend that pays for it and the price of it for what you get is ridiculous. There are better social apps out there, explore your options and find something else. Grindr has lost its origin and reputation and credibility.
Time & time again, this app proves to be a giant POS! Ad's keep appearing each time you click on a profile. Ad's also keep appearing in the messages section from weeks/months past. This app is very AD focused & not on actually improving the app.
Draws in a lot of trashy/unhealthy people.
Exploitative ad app 1/5
If you click a profile you get and ad, flip between profiles grants you and ad, check messages you get an ad, you even get ads in your inbox as if they were real messages and when you delete them they come back the next day. Just by opening the app you get about three ads you have to close before even having access to what the app is for. This is unbridled greed because this company has a captive audience since Grindr has the most visibility and name recognition in its genre. Complete trash.

ADD A "OFFLINE" SWITCH. So we can still browse but appear offline. Kinda like Skype : 'offline, busy, online' Thank you developers.
This app is the worst 1/5
there's A LOT of things wrong with this app i can't even begin to explain it. The only reason i'm still using it is bc a lot of guys use it which i have no idea why there's other gay apps out there that deserves more popularity.
It's true they are the worst. 1/5
Notoriously the worst app in the history of apps, does it need any introduction? Still one of the staples of the gay community yet the company refuses to invest anything in development.
I constantly get suspended in NYC for "messaging too many people" shouldn't that be a good thing in a city with the highest concentration of gay men in the world?
Click on a user, get an ad, click to edit your profile, get an ad. I get it that ads are for revenue, but this app is turning into mostly adverts. Now... The ads are full 15 second videos with blaring audio.
Horrible app 1/5
Grindr is a horrible app people are so rude they use different people pictures as there profile and I think this app should be deleted on the App Store or make a whole new app for the LGBT community
Almost died on here 5/5
I was almost murdered but other than that i be pulling hoes on here
Terrible...just terrible 1/5
Every time you open the app and touch something you get an ad. Some ads dismiss your phones volume controls which is super awesome 😑. Pretty slow too and still crashes all the time. You think after years on the market they could fix it. Idk what happened here but Grindr f***ed up.
All Ads - All the Time 1/5
*opens app - receives full screen splash ad
*receives iOS system style ad with option to close or learn more
*see there's a message in inbox. Goes to see who messaged me. It's actually an ad
**deletes ad message
*back at list of other profiles, selects one to view. Gets full screen splash ad
This app is just a constant stream of advertisement. Save yourself the time, don't download the app.
Arrogant Greedr 1/5
By daniel boom
Very intrusive Ads that takes over your device and opens up browser or App Store to load other Ads. Takes needles to navigate App. No location search, very limited. Grindr made more efforts to generate erroneous Ad clicks than offer a better experience for its users. Very arrogant greedr App.
Why can't we block more than 5 people a day? 3/5
I do understand that the premium includes limitless blocks... but why can't the regular members block more than 5 people a day?? It's so unfair considering this is a hook up app and full of creepy things...
Ads Before Bros 1/5
Grindr now sends text ads directly to your messages! This way you can read ads in between chatting with adbots. Bored of reading ads and bots? Open someone's profile and randomly view full-screen ads! Or view an ad for blocking a spam account!
Best of all, if you report spam accounts and complain to Grindr support about how numerous they are, they'll ban your account! If you complain about THAT, they'll recite the section of their terms and conditions that states they're allowed to ban accounts for no reason at any time!
Why do we all keep using this garbage app that prioritizes paid advertisements over actual users?!?!?
Way too many ads! 1/5
I'm deleting the app. It's a free app, of course there will be adds. But, they have taken it to the extreme. I get more spam messages and solicitations from Grindr than messages from other guys. Disgusting the amount of ads thrown at me. Developers should be ashamed of themselves, taking advantage of the gay community by making money with the plethora of ads. Developer contacted me "we'll try our best"
Even after opening messages from other app users the message stays marked "unread" messages also have issues sending quite often.
Yes. Ads make you money. But Jesus the number of ads and how easy it is to click them.... open a profile. Get an ad. Block a profile. Get an ad. Swipe left. Get an ad. And yet I still can't delete taps or even turn the stupid feature off. Delete an ad from the messages and it comes back four hours later. Every ad I've ever deleted just keeps coming back.
Still can't turn off the stupid fresh faces. And good luck cramming the bio into 250 characters. It used to be 350 characters.
Half the messages still don't go through. And when I send a message it shows up as a new message notification for ME.
Are you hiring real developers or just your friends?
After the update its not possible to save your personal settings. You are making millions $ with this crap app bit still not motivated to provide decent updates. Can't wait for a real competition to kick you out of the market.
Trap house 1/5
By Phillip kerns
Itz a Trap house
Need Sync 2/5
App works well, but the biggest complaint I have is that messages and taps don't sync across devices. How my supposed to use this on both my iPhone and my iPad?
Way too many ads 1/5
Understood that free apps will have ads, but the ones in this app are intrusive and aggravating. Awful.
Won't deliver messages crappy add just horrible!!
Chat history! 2/5
When are you going to make an update that keeps the chats history in the account when we delete the app?? I need it
Also: every couple of times I open the app it's like I opened it for the first time (measurements are back to being U.S not metric, taps are labeled as new) but thank god my chats are still here!! I would feel a lot better if a chat backup option was available.
Increase the word count.
Never works right on my phone. Never connects to the internet. I have an iPhone 7 plus. Fix it would ya?
Battery life message issues 1/5
I have down grade this after many updates this bs that your app uses 37% or more of my battery for all the longer it is used that's crazy esp when I have other apps like yours and use them more and that and they only use 9-11% so why does your app kill my battery also you have an issue when if your in messages and someone replies before you back out it makes the sound you got ones and it doesn't show you this or sometimes it makes the sound and the red dot and hen there's no message if this isn't fixed when my subscription runs out I'm down with you so fix these issues people tell you also fix your spam and crap make people create an account and use t to log in I am tired of blocking the same people who can recreate an account with no wait period
Beware guys. Grindr is sending spam for whatever reason won't allow you to report it. I am tired of getting pics with emails attached and you fools won't refuse to reply or do anything about it.
The intrusive ads are a joke.
Needs an update 1/5
NOTIFICATIONS (vibrating, show on lock screen, banners)
Greedy attempts to make users pay Premium 1/5
Grindr app unblocks people previously blocked by user, which crowds the grid constantly with people you no longer want to chat with or who have harassed you. If you are going to implement an automatic unblock policy, at least make blocking unlimited and not force people to pay for Premium to have that ability.
To many ads 1/5
This app has way too many ads, you click on someone's profile you get an ad. Half the messages I get are just ads for something. This app is one big bugged out advertisement now
By El nin@ de la Luna
It's one of those apps delate and get back
GROWLr, Scruff, your neighborhood dark room... 1/5
Anything but Grindr! I downloaded the app, uploaded one picture, and wrote a tiny blurb about me. I never even interacted with anyone else. On the THIRD time I opened the app, my account had been suspended for "violating [the] guidelines or terms of service." I was like, What did I do? So I contacted customer service, and after much back and forth over e-mail, they asked for a screenshot, I sent it. A week passes and I get no response, so I wrote that I'm deleting the app, and if I could access my account I would delete that too. How then did I get an IMMEDIATE response, and on top of that telling me that they won't bother investigating until I send them the requested information? Done. One star only because the option of zero stars is not available.
Was a good app. 1/5
This was a really good app. But when you try and look at a guy a add pops up. So you have to wait till the add is done till you can look at his profile. Don't download unless you like useless adds.
How the F**K!? 1/5
By NYT Aspiring Journalist
How the f**k doesn't this app support notifications????? It's "supposed" to be a social network for gay males to connect and yet it doesn't even tell you when you have a message !? You gotta be kidding me! This app is a glitchy, under maintenanced MESS. Which is why as of this posting it only has 1 1/2 stars. Do better Grindr developers your disgracing the community.
Trash app 1/5
This app used to be great, but it's FILLED with ads now to squeeze every last drop of money they can out of this dying app. They make you think you got a message, but nope, just an ad! 👎
By Armi Junior
App won't refresh
Won't let me access messages
Constantly shows I have a message but no message appears
Fix this please
Updated review 2/5
They finally unsuspended me. They claimed I was sending spam, but I wasn't. I still receive spam from other users every other day though.
Original review: "As if the ads weren't bad enough, people solicit drugs and prostitution and are just plain rude. Now I have been blocked for no apparent reason even though I'm civil, polite and use my own real (not obscene) pictures. I've been using it for a couple years and can't understand why I'm suddenly blocked.
Worst online dating app ever. Beyond useless. Their customer service is terrible too. I can't actually give zero stars in the App Store, otherwise I would. I'll change my rating when they clean up their act. I'm not holding my breath though."
Worst customer service ever! Dan should be fired! 1/5
This app kicks people off for no reason. When I contacted one of their customer service reps, Harvey, he said it was a software problem. He reinstates my account and it did it again. He again reinstated my account and it happened again. I sent another request in and this time I got a response from Dan who said they can kick anyone off for no reason at all......tough luck! Terrible customer service!!!!!!! Dan should be fired!!!!!!!!!
Improvement... But not the best 1/5
1. The swiping between profiles needs to be improved. Having it only when the picture is visible is useless.
2. Showing who you're talking to in the block view was also helpful. A number or blue highlight or something would be nice.
3. Chat is glitchy.
4. Buttons are too small.
5. Xtra subscription doesn't work after renewal.
