I have no idea why they changed the app.. I'm all for updates but I don't understand why you can no longer multitask with a movie on Hulu... it doesn't minimize anymore which was a great feature!! I think I will go back to netflix!

At first the update looked great and promising. Very clean and new look but the user interface was apparently not thought of while designing the new app. The old version was simple and easy to use and I get it it's not that big a deal and I'll get used to it but in the future some thought should be put into the function of the app.

I agree with the other reviewers, too many features were taken away. Can't switch audio inputs to AirPods anymore with in the app. Please bring back the functionality of the old Hulu.

This newest version doesn't support HDMI and it's difficult to navigate feels as if Hulu is telling me what to watch. Well at least I still have Amazon and Netflix that remain HDMI friendly

Look, the old interface left a lot to be desired, but this new interface is a huge step in the WRONG direction. Having to scroll through fullscreen-sized landing pages is awful WHY ARE SO MANY COMPANIES PUSHING THESE STUPID UI ELEMENTS?!?!?
Seeing MORE options per screen is better than having ONE option with no indication on how to find what you're looking for.
And while a much more subtle change, the new icon stands out like a sore thumb. The color just looks wrong on the screen.
Please just revert the UI. This is not just a knee-jerk reaction to "change" (the icon, maybe), you've replaced a useful UI with something "flashy" for the sake of the flash without any weight put into usability.

I hate the new interface. I could find everything in one pace before and now there are sections. The insistence of choosing your favorite shows so HULU can interest you in shows exactly like the one you watched is awful. I guess most people don't want variety??? They've pretty much ruined it for me.

They tried to make it look cool. Constantly swiping title-by-title is not cool. Clunky.
It was better when you could see almost everything and if not swipe the horizontal line of titles per list to find what you're looking for.
Reminds me of a renowned fruit company. Clunky.

i don't want to see shows i don't watch as soon as i open the app. while watching a show, it is inconvenient that when i touch anywhere on the screen it will place my show where i pressed. also who EVer wanted to go forward 10 seconds??

This is great app. Unlike most people I could care less about the visuals of the homepage. I'd really like if I was able to connect to my Xbox through wifi and pick and choose from my phone

The late version worked, and now with the new version I can't even get past the stupid screen that's asking me what my favorite shows are. There's no button to escape it, which is a feature I don't care about and want to skip, but as it's retrieving my favorite shows it keeps saying "Error" and won't go any farther, and if I try to restart it just keeps doing the same thing. No idea what happened, but seriously Hulu you are so disappointing all the time.
You guys are really trash. How do make an update that's makes you lose your visual? I'm paying for this bs it's supposed work.but don't worry THE ADS WORK FINE. screw you hulu.

I'm using a 3 month free trial at this point and really like the content Hulu has. I was going to continue paying for the service once the trial ended, however The recent UI overhaul is pushing me away from that idea. Hulu, please listen to your customers here and at least give the option of reverting to the old UI. If I'm stuck with the new one I'll likely cancel.

This app was working fine with airplay and now I can't even get a picture. All I get is the voice. I was happy before this new update and now I can't even use Hulu. So why should I keep paying for the subscription? This needs to go back to the old version. Why fix something that isn't broken? I dislike when apps say they're better because of the new visual appeal and supposedly better navigation but lack in performance and stop doing what it did before. If you haven't updated yet, DON'T!

I love Hulu, but the new update is only pretty, not functional. The main problem is they took away the ability to watch picture in picture. If you watch hulu mainly on your iPad or iPhone, you will not be able to continue watching when you multitask. The video will stop instead of minimize every time you want to check e-mails or check a website. It's ridiculous to lose that functionality.
Also, the new watchlist is pretty, but each show now takes up a whole screen so you can't see what else you were watching. It makes for slow browsing.

With the old version I was able to watch Hulu on my tv using an HDMI cord and now there is only audio and no picture. Not happy with the update.

Once I downloaded the new update it stopped working completely. It tells me there is no internet connection and to check my network status. All while having great service ( thank you Sprint 😂😂 ). But in all seriousness it's not working at all. I miss the old version!!.

Where's the "added functionality"?
All it is, is harder to use.

This new version is 💩. You used to be able to scroll through all recent episodes of a show in a horizontal list with previews, which gave a fast and usable overview of available content. Now everything is a giant tile and you have scroll through one at a time.
Who approved this? Why break what was working? Go home, Hulu, you're drunk.
I don't know what you were attempting to do but the new version is completely garbage.
This app is absolute garbage now. It's essentially broken at this point.

The UI went from easy navigation to Hulu trying to make it a "visual wonder" and messing everything up. Not only do I have to swipe several times to get from show to show, it no longer allows me to AirPlay correctly from my iPad as well as the picture in picture function that I constantly used has been removed. The phrase "if it isn't broken, don't fix it" hits right at home with this new update.

Can't find anything. Doesn't work intuitively. Font on Apple TV app is even worse and the font is too small to read.
Latest update is more buffering and less show 1/5
I select a show and wait up to 10 minutes for it to start, and then get maybe 30 seconds of show for another 3-5 minutes of buffering. Previous version played just fine, with an occasional 15 seconds of buffering for the whole show. Not useable in current configuration. Even reduced settings to minimal.

Had this app for a little bit now and enjoy watching it on the tv through an HDMI adapter. Did the new update. Looks cool. Won't let me watch through my adapter anymore. The thing is brand new so that's not the issue and from what I've seen I'm not the only one having this issue. I love the show selection on here but please fix this or else I'm going to have to cancel my subscription.

Super pretty, but not very smart. Limited setting controls. I like being able to see all the episodes available in a tv series. Trying to browse movies is impossible. Can someone explain the benefits of the update?

I do like the new feel and look of the new app. One problem I'm having is the pause and start doesn't work on wired Apple headsets. You can turn up and down the volume but you have to pause by the screen. Can you guys check that?

They updated the AppleTV months ago and never addressed the terrible UI which has now released on iOS. They obviously haven't gotten the point that the new user interface is terrible and makes for an aweful experience. I have just cancelled my subscription. If you want to send a message you should too. At this point, it's the only way they are going to understand that they need to make changes and fast. Plenty of other ways to get this content and their originals never appealed to me.

Completely erased my to watch list. Worst update ever. I only watch on my phone so this update renders it useless for me considering I don't have the time or patience to hunt down shows again. I'll be canceling my subscription unless this is fixed

I updated the app and it just keeps popping up with a screen it's an error 400 and I'll close the app and re open it and nothing.
So right off the bat it won't open.
