Virtually Unwatchable 1/5
The new rewind/ff feature makes it virtually impossible to watch an entire show all the way through, especially on mobile. If you touch anywhere on the screen, even a graze, it moves the video and forces you to watch commercials until you can get the video back to where you need it.
I’ve pretty much stopped watching the Hulu app in favor of Youtube and Netflix unless on a non-touch screen device.

Ever since this new update, the app is CONSTANTLY buffering .... it’ll play for 2 or 3 minutes, then buffer for 10, just to do it all over again PLEASE PLEASE FIX
The Hulu app works on my firestick, and everywhere else but my smart tv. Won’t even play through the first few minutes of an episode before it shuts down!

I have all of the major content player app’s and Hulu is by far the worst, I cannot stress how bad it is; it constantly stops to load, crashes, doesn’t load, crashes. I use it on all of my devices, delete & reinstall, close & reopen - nothing works, it’s never better, meaning this is just how the Hulu app works. I love the content and would like to keep paying the $12 a month for it, but I won’t keep it much longer unless they fix their app and their player!!! They also REALLY need to fix the rewind / fast forward feature - you’ll tap the screen for something else and it’ll just move the video forward or backward, what the heck??!! PLEASE FIX!
I love watching Hulu but 2/5
I love the Hulu LIVE TV, because i can watch the news and other shows. The down side is I can only watch it on a mobile device? Why can’t my TV APP have the same option? You would expect for some one paying 45 a month for this app and half of the time it doesn’t work. When i do cast it to the TV through the chrome cast all i can see it’s the sign saying ERROR playing this video

Ever since the major update I can no longer use my adapter for my iPhone to watch shows on my TV. All I get is a black screen with sounds. When I unplug it and hold my phone everything plays fine. Please fix this or I will cancel my subscription. I do not have internet at home besides my phone is this is the only option for me.

Hulu is a scam. When Hulu first began it was commercial free and over the past few years they have slowly been adding more and more commercials. Now In order to have commercial free viewing you have to pay EVEN MORE. They went from no commercials to 5 commercial breaks at 120 sends each. And it keeps getting worse. Get more bang for your buck by paying for Dish or Cox. More channels, same price, same commercial breaks and with the other services you can fast forward the commercials.
I don’t mind the update but there a lot of anime shows in which I cannot select subtitles on my iPhon, it just won’t let me

If you’re debating on paying for Hulu, don’t, just wait for it to come to Netflix, where it’s much better to watch. The interface is way better for Netflix as well. Do the developers even use Hulu, because I would imagine if they did, they would be embarrassed at how awful it is. On top of charging a monthly fee, you play commercials way too long. I’d be okay with a 30 second commercial every once and a while, but there are long amounts of commercials, in close amounts of time. I may as well get cable if I want to watch the SAME commercials over and over again. It makes it that much worse when you try to FFW/RWD, it skips frequently and forces you to watch 2 minutes worth of commercials. The same commercials you just watched 2 minutes prior, almost like Hulu gets even more money for each commercial they play. If I use an app like NBC, not only is it free, but the commercials take less time, so there is no value to paying for Hulu, since I can watch the same shows on a free app. I get that a company needs to make money, but Hulu just rips you off, don’t waste your time or money.

When will there be a fix for HDMI adapter on my iPhone out to a TV? This is the most important feature of the app and it doesn’t work. Can hear audio but don’t get any video. This appears to be a problem only for Hulu. All the other apps have zero issues. Please fix ASAP.
Unnecessarily annoying 1/5
The most ridiculous scrolling system ever. I cant watch anything without somehow fast forwarding 30 minutes and ruining whatever I'm watching.
Also, i didn't think i could hate the people in ads with a passion, but thanks to Hulu its possible. Trust me, when you watch the same 3 ads on each end every ad break you will find hatred in your heart anything Hulu.
Wish i could say i was using this because i liked it, but that is far from the truth. The only reason i use this is because i am using someone else's account (cant beat free) and it has some shows that Netflix has given up.
If you have Hulu make sure you also have access to Youtube or Netflix, because i guarantee that you will be using them just as much.

Did high school kids design this?? Crashes constantly, then doesn’t remember where I was in the show and won’t let me fast forward back!! HATE this! Glad I got a free trial first so I can dump this doozy of a dud.

Trying to log in and subscribe sent me in a loop of “subscribe and unsubscribe”. Wouldn’t tell me why it wasn’t working and finally gave up and unsubscribed all together. I’ll take my business elsewhere. I should have listened to all the bad reviews.

This is the most frustrating app. The picture will lock up and the audio will continue. I haven't been able to watch more than 15 minutes without having to reload a program. Really? And the same commercial (yes, folks you have to watch commercials and pay $40+ monthly) plays ad nauseam every few minutes. Seriously, if I had fibromyalgia I'd die before I purchased Lyrica just on principle. If this is the best you can do Hulu, you're gonna be out of business soon.

Hey there this app is great has everything u need to see well almost. The only reason i gave it a 4 is because when i connect my phone to the tv with an original apple lighting cable to hdmi it doesnt work. All your apps are horrible. They aren’t intuitive and they are quirky. The quality is low. Channels disappear. The live tv is simply terrible. The fact that there is only a guide on your website but not on any app is head scratching.
Live tv must have an easily accessible guide. This guide has to show, not only what’s on on every single channel but also what’s coming on next. The fact that there was some board meeting where this wasn’t a mist shows the people running your business is relatively clueless to how tv works.
I know innovation is a big deal. But I think the ‘picture for every channel you see’ simply doesn’t work.

Ever since the update my Hulu won’t load my shows on my phone, I can’t watch anything on my phone.
Keeps freezing looping buffering every few minutes 1/5
Not sure what was changed in the last few weeks version wise, but this app on the Apple TV constantly freezes and loops. I pay for the no-commercials subscription and it has become unwatchable. Fast forward/rewind aside, I can’t play a full episode of any program without it freezing. Sometimes restarting my Apple TV resolves the issues for 10 min, sometimes not at all. Please fix!!!
Mirroring compatibility 3/5
The app before the switch to the “My Stuff” update was beautifully compatible with Apple TV screen mirroring. It used to actually open the app on the tv and play content very well without the phone having to be open. It would be really great to get that back. Also it would be great to have a way to manually import from a watchlist because I have a watchlist on one device and my stuff on another and no updates for the watchlist device so it gets a little hard to keep up with what’s in my list.

- I never got an email after signing up.
- You pay and still get 2 min long ads six times in a 45 min show.
- If you go back a few mins accidentally and immediately try to seek to where you were before in a video, it makes you go through the ads all over again.
- Half the time, tapping on the options in the video doesn’t work, like settings or back or pause.
- Very poorly designed app.
I use Netflix, Amazon prime Video apps and in comparison this is a terrible app

I can’t watch Hulu on TV from my phone with HDMI or AirPlay. It’s unfair if you have good unlimited plan on cellphone and don’t need Internet or cable at home. Very disappointed, because Hulu’s analogs can do that.

Nothing is more aggravating than when I try to pause and accidentally hit the stupid fast forward part and it takes me 45 minutes into the scene with 120 seconds worth of commercials that I JUST watched not to mention you have to sit thru MORE commercials just to rewind to the place you were at. It’s clearly so they can get more money from the commercials they air which is very disappointing as a paying customer. Fix this ASAP.

I started a subscription through Amazon. Long story short, after canceling my subscription I was still charged the 39.99 for the “live tv”. I called amazon and they agreed I shouldn’t of been charged. Since Amazon called Hulu and stayed on the line to help me with the refund. WHAT A DISASTER! After over an hour trying to find my account by email, then the card that was charged the guy on the phone grew impatient and rude to myself and the Amazon rep. The Hulu rep kept saying he couldn’t find my account and kept blaming the charge on Amazon. When the Amazon rep asked to speak to a supervisor, the Hulu rep said “You know what, you figure it out” and hung up. The Amazon rep and I couldn’t believe what just happened. Amazon felt awful and gave me a 40.00 credit on my account. THAT is customer service. HULU will never get another cent from me or my family ever again.

Hulu is very...disappointing. It takes forever for them to get new episodes on certain series. For example, Steven Universe, a popular cartoon, released their fifth season a while back. The fourth season didn’t get even get uploaded to Hulu until after season five had aired!
Another example of Hulu’s disappoint is shown in The Good Doctor, a popular medical drama. Hulu claims to provide the five most recent episodes, along with the pilot. These episodes are not the most recent five. Currently, the show is at Season 1, Episode 15. Hulu’s library consists of episodes 3, 6, 7, 13, and 14 of he first season, not including the pilot. It would be awesome if Hulu would actually provide the five most recent, but even better if they would provide the entire series.
However, Hulu does have shows that other providers, such as Netflix, do not. I still recommend Netflix over Hulu, though, for better performance.

I love the service but hate the controls and the ads. I have had occasions where the ads skip over the content and to watch a single episode I end up watching 2x the ads. The controls are the worst part though, the slider screen needs to go away because it is so easy to activate- again, it triggers the ads so users are forced to watch so many it gets ridiculous.

The current UI is horrible. Difficult to find things without searching for them, even if it’s a show that I watch. Most enraging, the entire screen will seek through the content when you swipe anywhere, even the slightest bit. I have lost my spot in what I am watching countless times because of this.
I recently upgraded to live TV programming along with no ads. Some shows (even those that are not live or on DVR) still have Hulu ads. What’s worse is that it’s the same ad over and over, I have seen the same Lyrica ad fifteen times trying to watch a show. Again, I’m PAYING for no ads! I smell class action lawsuit for bait and switch.

I got perfect internet connection and never have streaming problems ever, but with this app everything takes forever to load, things like it not remembering where in a movie I stopped watching and such.
Plus how come I got to deal with a minute and a half of ads every 10 minutes when I'm literally paying for there service? So greedy.

I recently changed from Sling TV to Hulu when I saw Hulu started offering live TV. The package and add ons are cheaper than sling and they offer free DVR. They offer a ton of different shows than Netflix and they show new episodes 24 hours after it airs. These features are great!! But it doesn’t matter how great or cheap they are when the network is down 50% of the time. Not only that but the layout and user friendliness is terrible! I’ve used Netflix for years and maybe the ease of Netflix has spoiled me but it takes a long time to learn how to find and navigate through Hulu.
It’s only the beta version for their live TV but the layout is even worse than their stored shows. You’ve taken the first step into offering as much as Netflix and Sling but take a page out of their book and learn how to make something user friendly and laid out properly.
I’ll give them a couple months and hope things change but if not I’ll gladly pay the extra $10 a month for sling.

I’m shocked... and not in a good way. The interface is annoying and not intuitive. The ads... ohhh the ads... I was expecting “limited ads” (translates to 5 ad cycles per 45 mins), but I didn’t realize how much they would disturb my ability to browse. If you want to go back, you have to catch it before you get stuck in a 2-3 min ad cycle. Also, if you accidentally move to a different part in the episode, you have to watch ads before you know where you’re at.

The only thing the Hulu app will do is ask me to login or restore a purchase. I have an account with a trial subscribed in my iTunes account, but the Hulu app just throws an unnamed error and won’t get past the login or create account screen. Total waste of time. Zero stars if that was an option.

I’m loving this service. I can see all the shows I like the next day after they air and I can catch up on other ones I’d missed. I have other streaming services too but I watch Hulu the most. Great service👍
