I really like this app for letting me make smooth videos!
  • hyperlapse suddenly awful! Please fix! 2/5

    By Atroyz
Hyperlapse renders iPhone unusable. I’m having a big problem with the SOUND on my iphone when using Hyperlapse. I'm on an iphone SE (which is technically a 6s, but smaller) and when I use hyperlapse, it distorts the sound of the iphone during playback, and also distorts the sound of ANYTHING on the phone (ring tones, texts, other videos shot with stock app, and music). I’ve tested this over and over, and the only fix is a hard reset of the iphone. However, once I use hyperlapse again, the phone immediately starts to sound very distorted and echoey. It's a new glitch that just started appearing once I updated my phone form a 5s to SE, so I'm thinking it's a software glitch. But I'm hoping that either hyperlapse (i.e. Instagram's purchase of the LUMA technology responsible for the great stabilization) will figure out a fix. I'm guessing an update of the app may fix this, though my friend had the same issue and said this didn't help. Any tips would be GREAT. I love hyperlapse but won't use it until this is fixed, as it renders my iphone pretty useless.
  • Great app 5/5

    By theDimka
This app is awesome for video recording when you move. Final result is very smooth. I wish there would be an option to process video later and just go to new recording right away
  • Awesome tool 5/5

Hyperlapse is a really awesome tool for creating time lapse videos with camera movement. Stabilization is silky smooth. Helps you create a professional looking video right in your iPhone.
  • Great for great videos 5/5

It's perfect I have no idea how to explain it! I would recommend! Best thing ever. I have had this app for a while I stopped counting! I love photography. This is great. There is no bad side to this app. It is simple 1 step take video. And then, you download the lapsed video to your camera roll. love it! Love it!
  • Aint no app better than this 5/5

    By DontMindVanBurren
I have lived my life making camera apps, and god, this is the most beautiful camera app you can get for yourself. hyperlapses are beautiful, the video sends out positive vibes.
  • Cuts quality 2/5

    By Vmar2010
Loved the idea of the app but you can only use videos you've recorded on the app and the quality is worse after you speed the video up, your videos are no longer HD or clear
  • Nice 4/5

    By KIngRichardthe3rd
Great stable performance. Look up how to get a higher resolution.
  • Use this if you want a perfect video 5/5

    By Old dog Paramedic
Hyperlapse is so fun when you want a very funny fast time video. But I like its ability to smooth out motion and get rid of camera shake. It's my gold standard for shooting video.
  • Really straightforward and easy 5/5

It's a time lapse in your pocket!
  • Ruined my IPad microphone 1/5

Before I installed this my iPad was working fine, immediately after whenever I used Siri or voice to text there was feedback and an awful echo. I took a video with my phone, but unfortunately this won't let me post a video.
  • Doesn't work at all anymore 1/5

iPhone 7. Just crashes. Every time. Used to be so cool.
  • Takes too much space 2/5

    By MElyseO
Love it but it takes up too much space on my phone.
  • Great 4/5

Amazing for making lapse videos! Tap 4 times with 4 fingers to acess settings, but there is still very limited personal touches.

  • Adequate 3/5

    By BusyArtist24
It's good speeding up the action. But I really wish I could control the lighting better, and I'd like to be able to zoom.
  • does not stabilize ipad pro videos. :( 1/5

    By sky_bender
great timelapse program, but to say that my 2016 ipad pro doesn't support video stabilization is basically saying the company refused to implement this feature in the app. they are in favor to make something else seem propriatorey which is in my opinion, retarded. any computer/processor can stabilize video. period. i know this because i have personally stabilized astronomical videos for the last 15 years on the lamest of processors. because of this fact, the app gets 1 star.
  • Suggestion 2/5

    By 11DanaMS
If we can upload videos from camera roll it would be much better!!
  • Good for 2x and faster 1/5

    By rpac78
I thought they would fix this already but on my iPhone 6s+ I would get a horrible clicking audio distortion when I recorded a video and saved it at 1x.
  • Thought there was more 2/5

    By Stevo000
This is very basic and has no options for tweaking what you're shooting. I might use this less for photography purposes and more for video note taking. I tried with a new iPad Pro and was informed that there was no image stabilization available. What?
  • Smooth Video 5/5

    By brendan.n
    Great tool for smooth video
  • SETTINGS! 3/5

    By Barrambila
Needs user selectable resolution & frame rates. And absolutely needs 4k capture capabilities.
  • Needs a fix for iPhone 7 Plus 4/5

    By h.rodnii
It appears that the app only uses the secondary telescopic lens of the 7+ when recording, so everything is zoomed in and it can't capture as much light because of the sensor. It also can't utilize OIS if it only uses the telescopic lens.
  • NEEDS 4K 5/5

    By Swaggyzz69
Eveything is good just needs a update to support 4k
  • Great app 5/5

    By Alexey.Grinko
Great app, easy to use! Could you please add pause function!
  • Needs 4K support 3/5

    By tayperk
Finally updated for 7+, but still missing support for 4K recording.
  • Awesome app, missing 4K though 5/5

    By Vondrook
Ok, so I don't actually have my 7 Plus yet, so the 4K isn't something I'm missing right now, but I will soon. The iPhone has had 4K since last year's 6s line. With that feature, this app would be perfect. The stabilization is excellent, and the adjustable speed afterwards is so handy. You can also shoot and edit later. I don't even use the built in time lapse tool because you don't get as much customization. My last tip is to tap the screen with four fingers rapidly until you get the hidden menu that lets you change framerate and playback speeds!
  • Great App!! 5/5

    By Klaahtu
It works. It's easy to use. It takes the wobble by stabilizing the video. Really nice 👍🏼 app.

  • iPhone 7... 5/5

The image stabilization pop up error problem seems to be fixed on the iPhone 7. Now just hoping that the app continues to be updated to make it smoother and error free.

This app doesn't work on the new iphone 7
  • Needs update. 2/5

    By babyface122
The most impressive feature of this app has always been the stabilization of time-lapses to allow a smoother looking video. With the iPhone 7/7+ and the iPad Pro 12" model, this feature is not supported. Instagram needs to step up and update the app to allow full functionality again otherwise it's going to lose users. Until they update I'll be using the iPhone's built in time-lapse mode which now features stabilization. It's a shame too because I had a couple of great drives on the Tail of the Dragon, which is an incredibly twisty mountain road in Tennessee, and I would've loved to use Hyperlapse, allowing me to adjust the speed of the time-lapse to my liking. Would've made the videos much better than the built in app can produce. Oh well, opportunity missed. Hopefully the team at Instagram, gets their collective asses in gear. Not sure if it's a hardware or a software issue but it's disappointing to say the least.

  • Doesn't work on the iPhone 7 1/5

    By Favbeats
    Fix it.

    By kavi123456789
I went to Europe and took a bunch of video there. Some of the shots had really bad audio. The audio kept breaking up and you couldn't even hear it. After a while of trying to figure out what the issue was, I realized my audio was always messed up after I made a time lapse on hyperlapse. I LOST some great shots due to this stupid issue. Great time lapses but there are more negatives than positives.
  • Don't use on iPhone 7 1/5

    By tigermaniac
The app no longer stabilizes video when used with an iPhone 7. The only reason I used the app was the stabilization. The native phone camera does the same thing as the app now. No reason to have a second app...
  • A great app not supported in iPhone 7 1/5

    By sharbeens
A great app. One of the must have app for iPhone photography/videography. Unfortunately doesn't work with iPhone 7. So in order to encourage instagram team I'm giving 1 ⭐️. Once fixed I'll give back the 5 star :)

This app is so convenient. I've used it a ton and realized that it was much better than what all the other reviews were about. I am an iPhone SE user though so if you are too I would totally recommend this app.
  • Used to love this app 1/5

    By Airickson2319
I used to use Hyperlapse ALL THE TIME but without support for iOS 10 or iPhone 7 (plus) it's useless. Went from top used app on my iPhone 6 Plus to I'm thinking about deleting it. Help!!
  • This USED to be my favorite time lapse app... 1/5

    By nickalmand
This USED to be my favorite time lapse app when I had the iPhone 6, but since upgrading to the 7+ I'm getting an error message saying that image stabilization isn't supported. What gives?! There doesn't seem to be any good explanation to me why that feature wouldn't work. Without it I may as well just use the built-in time lapse feature (except for being able to control speed). I REALLY hope they add this feature back and restore Hyperlapse to its former glory. I'll be deleting it until they do.
