Tennessee trip planning 5/5
This app is great for laying out a trip and stops. I wish it were a little easier to edit and add waypoints easier with less steps but its great. I look forward to improvements in the future versions.
The best of the best 5/5
Good morning good afternoon good evening everybody I am a sales person and this route made my day very very easy I suggested 100% many blessings for everybody who they use very simple easy to use download please
STOP!! Look no further! 5/5
This is the navigator app you are looking for. I always looking for the back road when making bike trips. This is it, by far, hands down, no contest the one that delivers. I have deleted and cancelled the rest.
I friend had OnStar when leaving West Ky after the eclipse. It kept directing us into traffic, I opened In Route and took over. He cancelled his On Star and downloaded the app.
And that’s one of many.
It’s the real deal!!
Few fixes 4/5
Would be nice if you could pout an option for pin sizes since the new update with larger pins it covers the map up with my previous pins. Also it loads really slow going to and from completing a route and turn by turn other than that it’s been great app. Like it even more since you can insert pin in the middle of the route
InRoute - Very useful for motorcyclist 4/5
By Scott Blackman
This is the only app I've found thus far that allows me to very explicitly select the waypoints I want to visit and/or routes I want to take that really sticks to them. It doesn't try to get me there the most efficient way, it gets me there the way I told it I wanted to go. I like the 'twisty's'. I like to stay off the highways and InRoute let's me do all that.
I've used to it map routes for a group and shared that route with my friends using .gpx format and it's worked flawlessly.
I admit that I really like a Mac version so I can map my routes on the computer, but that's a minor niggle.
Easy to use! 5/5
Very intuitive and easy to use. Thanks for a great app.
Useful, easy to use, full featured 4/5
By Ex BH boy
I use this to plan a variety of trips. Waypoints can be added, deleted and resorted to explore route options and see travel times. Being able to see temperature and wind predictions for the route helps plan my motorcycle trips. As they've made this app compatible with both iPads and iPhones it's easy to plan a route on the large screen of the iPad and then sync to the iPhone for route guidance which you can either use another app for or use their in-app voice guided navigation. This app is well thought out and they keep making improvements. I highly recommend it.
My only complaint is with the in-app navigation. When using the app the map rotates awkwardly and once out of cell range the map disappears and you’re left with the route and a line grid. There needs to be a feature to download maps for off-line use.
Very useful App 5/5
We have used InRoute for the last 3 years consistently, we have travelled Europe, North, central and South America and has always proven reliable.
It helps me plan routes for months in advance, distance, climate, altitude it’s all there.
for us it has proven to be an excellent tool to plan our trips, highly recommended to use the upgraded version.
Bon voyage to all you travelers.
BAD APP FOR TRUCKERS/RVers 1/5
Used an app 4 years ago when we were traveling back east & learned there are a lot of low bridges. Couldn’t find that same app again, so bought this one as our 5th wheel is 13 ft. 1 in. tall. This app took us on crazy routes, wanted us to take a “parkway” (warning, low bridges) in Maryland & took us under the Potomac River, which had a sensor to detect over height vehicles 13’6”). In reality, it took us off I-95, under the Potomac, tried to get us on a parkway, then back onto I-95. We could have just stayed on I-95. Then through NYC on the Interstate, it was telling us to take the wrong Washington Bridge (upper vs. lower) than the signs were directing truck traffic. We followed the signs & stopped using this horrible app. It is very user UNFRIENDLY to boot. Don’t waste your $$ on this.
FIRST IMPRESSION 5/5
I have been searching for an easier, more intuitive way to plan waypoint mapping for motorcycling. I tried this app x 1 and thought it was incredibly easy to use and export .gpx files.
Best trip planning App yet 5/5
By River chosen
I've been looking for a Trip Planning App like this for a while. Best since MS Maps and Trips.
Just needs more work on Points of interest.
Best trip planning app that I’ve seen on the App Store.
Great App 4/5
Great mapping program. Use it other to route trips. Gives you the ability to add stops along the way and choose routes.
Perfect for planning and navigating your personal route to a destination 5/5
The perfect navigation app for planning your route. I use it on my motorcycle for choosing the roads I want to ride. I have found none better.
Using inRoute 5/5
By Foxy 454
I’ve been using inRoute for over a year now. I keep learning more about its capability’s each time. I like the way I can plot my own route instead of always heading down the toll road or interstate at 70 mph in bumper to bumper traffic. It really nice to slow down and see something along the way. One option it doesn’t have is to be able to avoid interstates or toll roads or even big cities with out having to plot the entire rout your self. It might take longer but it’s amazing what you might see along the way.
Pretty solid 3/5
By TLL Jr
User for ~3 yrs. It’s reliable, with one exception. Often, when there is a street behind the location, which is not the street in the address, it will map you to the rear of the address instead of taking to the street the address is actually on. Frustrating, but not a dealbreaker for me.
InRoute Rocks 5/5
By bizz tek
I’ve used this program for quite a while now and have to say it is my go to for motorcycle routing. I’ve got a garmin on my motorcycle as well, but find route planning, especially on the fly, to be much easier with inRoute.
Planning routes on my iPad and then using them to navigate with my iPhone while on the bike is ideal. The progress this app has made from the start is great, but there is room for improvement. I would like to see the controls onscreen bigger and more prominent while navigating a route. On the smaller screen of an iPhone it is sometimes difficult to see the information at a glance. An easier way to zoom out the route while riding would also be appreciated.
Update to Review: Thanks for the reply on how to zoom in and out. I did not know that, but have now tried it and it works great! 5th star added 👍
I love this app - Best route planner 5/5
I use it to plan motorcycle rides. It is the most awesome app, easy to use, and vary comprehensive route planner. I love this App!! Truly a must have!!!
Awesome app 5/5
By Eviction guy
I use this app everyday and saves me a bunch of time
Very helpful 4/5
I have been using it for a couple years to plan our various RV trips. I like that I can store several versions in the cloud and it will help me figure when I will arrive. The elevation and curviness features are also helpful
Versatile and practical 5/5
I have been using the app with all its in-app add ons and could not be more pleased. I ride a 2014 Harley Ultra Limited with the built in gps. I have pre-planned coast to coast rides for groups and being able to calculate stop durations and overnight stays makes planning "kick stands up" a breeze. I can also import the daily routes right into the Harley NAV.
But here is what is really cool. I have stopped and re-routed my own personal rides to avoid storms. I plan the route in InRoute with waypoints to direct the path, export the route from my iPhone to a flash drive through the lighting port, and then import the route to the Harley NAV and I am on the road. This can easily be done in a rest area or a local cafe or gas station just using your phone. That is convenient!
Keeps getting better! 5/5
I’ve had this app for about three years. Use it four or five times a week to run a small route. Could not ask for more. Absolutely love the new updates. Great job guys! Keep it up.
Works Great 5/5
I have tried many other GPS programs. This is by far the best I have used. In addition to the voice guidence the features I like the most are
1. The ability to set way points with just a touch. I ride a motorcycle & Slingshot and I will set a start point and destination and after the route is displyed I can add waypoints for sightseeing places along the way and have the route recalculted for 'Most Curvy'.
2. Once a route is determined I can have gas stations plotted along the rote every 150 miles or whatever distance I choose.
3. If the route is long i can search and plot layover stays every (x) number of hours from starting point.
4. Severe weather alerts are displayed along route.
5. Caculate custom routes based on a series of conditions like Most Curvy, Least Precipation and Highest Temperature.
There are many more features ... All in all a great app
The best mapping app 5/5
I've tried many mapping apps, but this one exceeds them all. I can also plan my routes on roads that Google, for some reason, removed driving directions from.
Great service for lawn mowing business 5/5
By TRC loves Jesus
I have used this service to help me optimize routes for my lawn mowing business and I have loved it! I just input all my customers from my contact list and then print it out and use the route all week. I wish I'd seen this sooner.
Great app 5/5
Versatility for days. This app works very well. It has replaced both of my GPSs.
Great planning app 4/5
I've used this many times to plan my route. Works great to explore areas and much better than Google maps. Only gripe is that if you get off the route the app will remind you every few seconds to get back on route
Great app 5/5
I purchased the enhanced version with 100 waypoint capability. I use the app on an IPAD (with larger screen) to locate good twisty roads for motorcycle rides. When I finish a route, the app shows the distance and time required to ride it. I can adjust the route to get a good ride time (for me-about 4 hours).
I export the route to Dropbox as a .gpx file and import it onto the InRoute app on my IPHONE. I mount the IPHONE on my handlebars, connect my SENA Bluetooth and ride. The voice instructions work great. The IPHONE display is good enough to see the upcoming turns. For my Harley, I load the .gpx file on a thumb drive and upload it to the NAV system. Works well on the Harley if you remember to go into IPAD settings and set not to export unused pins. If you let the unused pins export, your Harley NAV system will take you home first then start the ride. When you start a new route 100 miles from home, that feature does not work out well.
I share .gpx files back and forth with several friends who ride. We have built up quite a library for Tennessee.
OK but needs work 3/5
Adequate but I was hoping for more. I found it difficult to use however I haven't seen anything better.
Worth figuring out... 4/5
No scenic route option, only fastest. Must create 469 miles of waypoints to stay on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Otherwise automatically re-routes to faster ways. 25 points max for $15. Not looking forward to making multiple routes to just stay on Blue Ridge Parkway. Maybe if I limit settings to 45MPH during this routing, it will avoid the highways...
Works better than advertised! 4/5
Flexible and easy to use. Tried it for our current India trip without incident
Toll route avoidance doesn't work 1/5
I downloaded this to find out the quickest truck friendly route for my delivery. I made sure to select to avoid tolls and it kept routing me through a tolled area 😒
Not as good as it seems 3/5
By PNW mtbiker
I have been looking for a way to customize maps and routes fo awhile, specifically for motorcycle travel. I will create maps on google maps, save the maps to icloud and import the .kml with this app into its interface, thats where it starts do go downhill. Too many little isues to mention here but for a 3000 mile trip (891 miles there, 891 miles back and the remainder split into 5 different rides) I fought the app the entire time. You need to be able to pause navigation if you go off route...but if you do go off route..it cant seem to figure out where you are and even get you back to where you were going. I ended up finding a way to use google maps and sometimes iOS maps and ended up with a better experience, definately not worth a subscription in my opnion. too many things made it "not for me"
Perfect for Real Estate Buyer Showings 5/5
Love that I can put all the addresses in, it can sort them to a best route, and it can export them to Waze, my preferred GPS app. It can only export one address at a time though. So after you finish at one address, you need to go back to the app and start the next route. Maybe they have changed it since I used it last, but thats how it used to be.
Great navigation app 5/5
Programmer makes improvements for good suggestions too! Keeps getting better and better!
InRoute works for me 5/5
It's pretty intuitive and easy to use on the iPhone app
Almost Great App 5/5
I love this app. It's great for trip planning. The only drawback is the amount of time it takes to show the map behind the route. After selecting a Start Point and Destination it shows the route on a grid background no map detail. Often going from a wide area view to a smaller few the same happens, grid with no map detail. I wait minutes for the map detail.
The map actually allows you to terrain associate. Nothing else like it on the market from what I can't tell. Well worth the money.
This app is perfect! 5/5
My wife is flying to LA. She is renting a car and requires three totally different routes with different starting and destination points. I was quickly able to set up each route and bookmark it. The "remove" allows to clear prior route data and start a new one. Waypoints can be added as desired after the fact. New travel and driving times are added. This app also uses satellite GPS where cell service is not available. This is a very professionally designed app. Throughly thought out.
Cumbersome to edit on iPad 4/5
I love a lot of the features, but when I want to change a destination mid-route or restart after a long layover, it is not as straightforward and intuitive as I would like! Yet, it does help so much with trip planning!
Needs Work 3/5
By Engr REH
This app is indeed an awesome trip planner, but the navigation functionality is really lacking. I planned a 2980 mile, 9 stop trip, and when I tried to start navigating, it said "please move 10 feet to the starting pin", as if it couldn't adjust the starting point to my current location. That is totally unacceptable in a navigation program. It finally - some 30 miles down the road - started giving sporadic (as in 'infrequent') directions, then went to sleep again for another 50 miles to so. It is easier to read the turn instructions in the trip details window. I still use it as a trip planner, then keep it handy as a reference while I navigate each leg of the trip with one of the maps apps.
Once they get the nav function sorted out, the app will be a traveler's dream.
Immediate crash 1/5
By Word Choice
I have use this app that a year ago and then deleted it because I had neither use nor space for it. I recently added the app again and couldn't get beyond attempting to add an address. The "no service" message came up repeatedly and within minutes I deleted the app.
New feature request 5/5
I love the app. This summer I have used it for the planning and execution of an extended RV vacation covering camping at some 30 state parks in Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio and Michigan. I've also used it to keep track of scores of sightseeing points.
One feature I'd like to see in the app would be a calendar that illustrates the dates that I reach my route's points. You already allow me to designate the starting date for my trip and because I can designate the number of full layover days, the app can calculate when I will arrive and leave a place. If I could only view all that information in a calendar I could better visualize my entire trip. If I like what I saw in the calendar within the app, I would then like to be able to export the dates into my Apple calendar so that I could share it with others.
Love being able to plan routes! 5/5
This is phenomenal! I love that I can plan motorcycle rides and get turn by turn directions! This app is a lifesaver! 👍🏼🏍
Pretty good so far 4/5
I've been using this application for a couple days now. It's pretty good so far. One thing I would like is the ability to connect saved routes to each other.
Fantastic app 5/5
Before I arrive at a travel site. I put in the airport, hotel, restaurant, gym. The app then optimizes the way points so I travel the most efficient route. My wife and I use this feature for garage sales.
This app is perfect for travel especially in winter. Once you plan out your route it will let you know when to expect snow on your route in addition to other features like wind, altitude, etc.
Love the app!
Excellent Routing App 5/5
This is the best app I have found for routing the inspections I do all over the midwest.
Better than maps 5/5
This is the best trip route planner! You can pick and make your own route and it will tell you the time to each pin, easy to use, well worth your time to down load this app!!
Not free 1/5
By B.M.F. 248
Wasted time to download and add destinations just to see they want you to pay 3.99/month. Dumb.
Great app for RV'ers 4/5
I use it with an iPad air2 so the big screen is easy to see while on the road. Being able to plan the entire route with stops and layovers is a huge help. And if you change your plans it is easy to update the route with the new information. Keeps you updated with mileage and time to waypoint as well as traffic and construction. Using the included filters allow you to customize the route to your vehicle or liking. If you're a road warrior you need this app. Works better on the larger screen of a tablet but a large phone will also work, just have your copilot use it.
Streets and Trips clone for iPad 5/5
Happy after playing with this app briefly, but has layovers and weather which I was looking for. Thanks guys!!
