This app makes me want to throw my iPad. I go to the search field start to type and the screen reloads when I am a few letters in. I start to do the same thing and it happens again. It seems that you have to wait about five minutes for them to load whatever pop-ups or some sort of active content that I don't care about before I can use this app. Most of the time I just close it and go to Michaels or Amazon. Too bad Joann. You used to be my go to.

I love this store! I love shopping online because I am a SAM with twins. However, this app is very frustrating and never works properly. You can’t swipe or it brings you back to the beginning. Deleting items takes forever. And most of the time there isn’t the stuff I want in stock or able to buy on line and pick up. I think this app could be great it just needs more work. And once the changes are made I’ll give it the stars I know it could have!!!!

I would love to look at the weekly ads, but they’re so small. I can’t read what is on sale, and there’s no way to expand the image. I think I’m going to remove this app for now. I’m better off getting my coupons by email (which is already set up) and checking ads by going to the website.
This app really does have potential. I may come back and check it out again in a few months. I’m hoping the app creators check out the reviews and put out an update.

I do a lot of online shopping. Like A LOT, practically everything.
What attracted me to the Joanne’s app was the coupons you can store in your phone, and the fact you can shop for things specifically for crafters.
The problem is you can not use the coupons on Joanne.com you have to go back and add the code manually. When searching for items or trying to add an item and keep shopping the app constantly redirects you to the “home screen.”
A very hefty portion of the craft ideas in the app have no instructions, and do not provide a specific list of materials. There is no link directing you to the person who posted it, or if these are things I’m supposed to pay for there is no option to do so. This defeats the purpose, which I’m assuming is to buy the supplies from Joanne’s.
For now I’ll use the app if I feel like going to the store and need a coupon. Project ideas I can just read blogs or watch videos on YouTube. Supplies I can get from Amazon, Walmart or any other website that is better organized. I’ll keep Joanne’s around for the things I can’t find elsewhere, and hope they don’t go out of business due to their lack of intuitiveness.
Online shopping difficulties 2/5
It took my a solid 30 minutes to place an online order. I seem to have two separate accounts, one for the app then one for shopping within the app. I am not able to log into either to check my shipping status. I get alerts about issues processing my request (to sign in, view a page, change my password as a troubleshoot). Not user friendly. I like that I can access the coupon codes in store, but it is very difficult to shop online.

What is the point of a store’s app that doesn’t give you any search function or menu on the home page? As always with Joann, you end up frustrated with having to go through the forced sales pitch for stuff you aren’t in the least interested in to get access to what you’re there for only to find it unclear what the price is instore vs online and how to figure out if your coupons apply. As an app, there’s no benefit to it occupying space on my phone when a browser search is more effective for a front page access. If you’re just drifting through the store looking for inspiration, the app might work for you but I usually have a focused goal. Deleting and likely won’t download again in the future.

Very difficult app to use. Difficult to navigate, not very intuitive. Font is way too small very difficult to read. And why is everybody using grey font nowadays? Gray font is very difficult to read. And what on earth happened to landscape mode? I want landscape mode for my iPad!

The new app is sorely lacking and it has some serious technical difficulties. It's not user friendly at all. Search queries reveal no items, yet if you go to the website outside the app using the same exact search the items show up. Also the app used to distinguish whether an item was exclusively online or whether it was in stock in your local store. It's just not layed out very well after the update. 👎🏽👎🏽 If you're trying to disuade customers from shopping with you, well done. Mission accomplished.

The app has a poor design overall and it’s quite buggy. It freezes at most times and I still haven’t been able to set my local store location even after I broke down and allowed location services to see if that was the trouble. The only reason to have a crafting app for most people is to see what the store has in stock, electronic coupons, and to keep receipts handy for exchange or return. I can’t even set my store to see the coupons. Please fix this as it’s nice to have a craft store open on Sundays.

The purpose of me having this app is to get coupons. The app will not let me “select a store” no matter what I do. I’m not the only one. I know a ton of people with the same problem. This means no coupons. I have switched to Michaels because their app actually works. FIX THIS!!!!

I don’t leave app reviews. If I don’t like them I just delete them and move on with life. But this? This is different. Infuriating experience trying to get the elusive app coupons. My app is crashing, constantly loading, and the coupon page is empty. I am able to cart things - of course I am! I bet it would even let me check out with my full priced items just fine. But produce the promised coupons? Nope. I’ve just about completely lost interest in the project I was SOOO excited about an hour ago. Joann’s App: where project dreams come to die.

If I could give this app ZERO stars I would. Seriously, I think my cats could develop a better app!! Let's list what doesn't work: login, store finder, profile and coupons. Let's list what most users need from this app: the ability to login, find and set store, update profile and find coupons. WOW!! These app developers have done an amazing job of developing the most useless app ever. And people were actually PAID to do this. I wish I could be so incompetent in my job and get paid.

The website store locator is quick and accurate, but the app store locator does not work. I already have an account on the website. I installed the app to get the better coupon and it won't find my store and won't let me do anything else until I finish my profile.

Sooo app is not working. Keeps demanding that I select a store as favorite. Then when I enter zip code, message box appears to indicate that I’ve selected too many items. Zip code!! Then I use city and state same madness. Nope 👎🏾

This app is horrible! It doesn’t deserve any stars. I’d like to use the app specifically for the coupons but I can NEVER get the coupons to come up!! This last week I went back in for the yarn sales, had to dump and reload the app and it STILL wouldn’t work!!! So I’ll now revert to old school and bring in the mailed flyer with the coupons. BuhBye app

I downloaded the app for the first time. And spent trying to figure out why my quantities changed at checkout. Frustrating! Gave up
Also it only allows you to use only one coupon, even when the coupons are very specific to a product.

I got the app for the coupons which were not obvious to find but I was new to the app. Coupon did not apply to the item I wanted to buy because item was on sale. (Coupon could not take reduction off regular price which would have been a better deal for me. OK, their rules.) Item was listed as available for pick up at stores but not in stock at my usual store. Site would not let me change store and did not list stores where it was available. ***Hint: This would have been very useful and resulted in sale. I gave up on this gift item.
Then looked for Lion brand Homespun yarn. Got nice bunch of small pictures of yarn with option of getting list of colors. The two were not linked. Could not get a description of colors or names of colors in pictures nor enlarged colors of pictures. Not useful for choosing colors. Waste of almost an hour.

I have walked away from my computer several times and bought nothing because I was so frustrated with the app and accessing the website on a PC is not any better. It won’t give you a quick preview of the item description. If you click on the item to see more details and then hit “continue shopping” it takes you back to the home page rather than back to where you left off. If you had narrowed a search for a specific group of products you have to re-enter the search terms all over again. When you actually click on something with an intent to purchase you really need to double check what the app put in your cart. I ordered one can of spray adhesive and got 7 cans shipped to me. I took them back to the store and they would only give me store credit which the app apparently doesn’t recognize. When you call customer service regarding an issue with a refund, they give you a long recorded diatribe and then hang up on you or ask you to leave a message and don’t return your call.
I have been a loyal Joann customer for decades. The sales have always been great but this new level of inattention to customer service makes me not want to shop at Joann. It takes me no less than two hours to struggle with the app to place a moderate sized order.

Bait and switch 1/5
Wonderful coupons at home but when I get to the store they disappear at the register. This happens consistently at the two stores that I shop at. So my material is cut, peopleare standing in line behind me and from now on even if I spent an hour picking out what I wanted, I will just walk out if the store. Gosh the coupons were what made me go there in the first place. If the app is not fixed soon I will no longer shop at Joann stores.

No way to search for a project I want, it seems like JoAnn wants to manage my project for me. Not a chance.
Also, I prefer the horizontal, landscape way of viewing. The app forces the user into vertical/portrait.

This new app is just awful. I can’t look at the ads except in tiny versions, it won’t turn to landscape no matter what the settings are on my iPad. I like the old version so much better! I rarely use the app at all anymore. I go to the website on my laptop instead. I’ve also stopped receiving the paper mailer ads since I updated to this app. I used my coupons regularly. I might as well shop local shops if I don’t have coupons. I have contacted JoAnns by email and received a response that said “everything looks good”! They said I should be receiving the mailers. Not good here. Such a disappointment after using the former app for several years!

This app has the potential to be a real winner of a sales and marketing tool for Joann. However right now it is so frustrating to use it could (is?) actually be driving customers away. Hook your app developer up with an actual crafter! It's hard to program if you don't understand the subject. Get some beta testers who can work with you. Links for store locations, coupons, latest offers, weekly ad, and SHOPPING, go on that home page. NOT tutorials. A news app returns you to the main menu each time--so does your app. Your users want to look at other items in the same category. While I'm in the store I might want to know if you actually sell the item I can't locate. On the other hand, maybe I don't have a local store. Crafters are a creative and spontaneous group...they are going to head to your store to grab supplies, as a first choice the minute that ah-ha hits them. Online shopping is a good second choice if there is no Joann's available or your local store doesn't stock what they need. Use your analytics--if customers in an area are ordering stuff not stocked in the local store, use that to customize what that location offers. Tutorials will not generate business if the app doesn't work properly to begin with. Keep in mind the size of screen a typical phone has.

Literally one of the worst apps I have ever used, only need for it is to get some coupons. If you try to order products with it, it sends you back to be main screen at the end with no confirmation, be sure to check your email to see if an order was placed or not because you would get a confirmation email fairly quickly

Joann really needs to get it together. They are sucking hard core with their app maintenance. I uninstalled the app for a while and tried to install and use again and it keeps prompting me to call customer service to reset my password. Definitely will tell people to avoid the app at all costs.

Disorganized and not stocked store 1/5
Joanne’s fabric has some many store and most are so disorganized and not full stock. Also, many of their fabric are old and frumpy. If you want nice fabric go to a quilt shop or big city.
