Pronunciation exercises ineffective 2/5
Voice recognition doesn't distinguish between tones and some multiple choice answers are configured to the wrong answer. That being said this is a fun, dynamic and mostly intuitive way to learn.
This is fun!
Love the program, but... 5/5
I Love Rosetta Stone, I purchased the program on my MacBook and I am enjoying learning Spanish. However, I was under the assumption that I would be able to use Rosetta Stone across all my Apple devices (e.g. MacBook Pro, iPad, iPhone etc.) with one single purchase. Unfortunately, that's not the case and if you want to use the app it's costs extra. The customer service rep quoted me $14.00 per month or $99.00 for the year. Not bad, but I personally think if you purchase the program you should be able to use it on all your devices without having to pay extra. They did give me a free trial to use the app which I appreciated but I still think it should be included with the purchase and would be amazing if it syncs together your progress no matter what device of yours you're using. Aside from that, It's a great program and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to learn a new language

I love that I'm able to easily use both the computer via online learning and the mobile via the app. It saves my progress which is super cool! No reservations yet and have been learning Italian for about 3 weeks now. I like the platform a lot. Only thing is the when I have to speak the term sometimes I say it exactly as RS pronounced it and it tells me it's wrong and have to say it how they didn't pronounce it in order for it to let me move on. My grandma speaks Italian and I have been learning via RS with her at her house and she told me that my pronunciations are perfect and the RS software doesn't allow me to continue. Other than that we love it!
I'm learning Spanish! 5/5
I love how easy it is!
Less than I thought 2/5
I’ve used Rosetta Stone for other languages on different devices. I downloaded the course to use on my iPhone. 1. Some of the photos are so small or unclear I cannot determine what it is or what an answer might be. 2. I paid $200 for a course where I got 7 of the first 28 lessons. Then, I would have to pay another $200 for the remaining lessons. I am very dissatisfied with this version.
Grammar/audio inaccuracy 4/5
Great for Korean! I'm actually really learning. The only complaint is the part where you have to figure out Korean grammar... I end up guessing to figure out what it's showing me, and often can't so I go to a Korean translation app to understand the concept. It's kinda hard to learn and teach grammar from just pictures. Otherwise, besides having to use a second free source here and there, and the somewhat inaccurate voice recognition where you can be quite off sometimes and still get it right, it does teach you Korean fairly well. :)
Almost perfect 5/5

Some things I would like in the app are available online but I can't go to their webpage with my iPad it just redirects me to the app. Some explanations might help us to understand why some things are said certain ways. Overall well worth the purchase I would recommend this product to anyone hoping to learn another language. Bridge the gap between yourself and others you encounter.
I love it , please give me free lessons 5/5
II love it , please give me free lessons
Great for Learning Language, but Greedy 1/5
I love Rosetta Stone and have used it in the past. I recently purchased Irish on CD and have been learning on my computer, but I’m busy and was excited to discover there was an app for my phone. It’s a great app with one exception: you have to pay to use its features. After paying nearly $200 for the CD I expect the total package on my phone as well. I decided I really wanted to learn and learn well, so I bite the bullet and plan to purchase the whole lesson, but then it says $129 for a simple expansion and I nearly died. Nope! I was willing to pay around $30 or so for the extras that I was expecting to have included initially. I am so upset about this. It’s simple: don’t be greedy. I’m not the kind of person who can afford to drop a couple thousand to learn a new language. Sorry, not sorry. Education should be affordable.
Very good... 5/5
We purchased the CDs and got three months free access to all the lessons in the app and it has been well worth it. I haven't had any issues with the app crashing or freezing. This is also the very best way to learn a language, just like you learned your native language; see, hear, repeat. Very happy with this app!
So fun and easy to use! Best money I've ever spent! 5/5
What a fantastic product. They hit a home run with the online tool. I hope it continues to be engaging and fun.

Rosetta Stone is the best self learning way for new languages.
Just try it...
Thumbs up 4/5
Better than iPhone app
Superb App 5/5
I would recommend this app to anyone trying to learn a foreign language. Extremely helpful and offline version is great for road trips with spotty cell service.
Great program, but this would make it better 3/5
Love the efficiency of learning through this; one of the quickest ways to get the "gist" of it. What would vastly improve it - for those of us that would actually like to learn it for more than a brief business trip - is an option on each pg to see an explanation (I.e. why the grammar changed, etc). I understand you don't want to bog down @screen w/ unnecessary information, but it's not unnecessary (actually, it's important) for those that really want to learn, stick with, & truly understand the language. This would make us more efficient speakers in the long run.
Great app for learning 5/5
Captures your attention and challenges your intellect at just the right level.
Fun Learning 5/5

I love the lessons. I can repeat each lesson as often as I need. I'm able to study at any time. I learn to read and remember the characters through the repeat lessons.
Love it on iPad! 5/5
Great experience on iPad, being able to learn languages everywhere I go with a few minutes per lesson.
App was easy to use and fun. I was interested in learning more Spanish, but not for $200. Perhaps if you have a real need to learn another language, this app would be worth maybe $29.95 at the highest price, but $200 is too much for it.
By annoyed comic-lover
When I downloaded it it was fine but after the first use it started making the words disappear. I would give it a no star rating if I could
I liked it... until I realized it was 200 dollars! HOLY CRAP WHOS GONNA SPEND THAT MUCH MONEY! I think it should be more like 20 dollars. Until it's not so much, I'm not gonna use this app
By Lulu Gilbert
I do not like it because, let's say it gives you a word and you're just like omg say it in English first
Come on! 1/5
I thought I had found a great app for learning foreign languages, but then I found out the second lesson costs $129.00! I would understand $25.00! I'm not trying to be cheap, but seriously! The first lesson teaches you around 20 different words and pronunciations which I gotta say is fare, but who wants to just learn 20 words! Do not get this app if you don't want to pay over 100 dollars for something you'll play every week or so! I am very disappointed in this app, and hope you will lower the price a reasonable 100 dollars so I can afford it. ( or at least lower it 30 bucks! Im mean come on! )
I taught ESL 5/5
Having taught English as a second language, I have experienced the challenges of teaching a new language. Personally I find Rosetta Stone a wonderful and the most convenient way of learning a new language. It teaches you to think in the language and not translating.

Thanks for the efforts of Rosetta team
Terrible In Every Way 1/5
Hey Rosetta: UPDATE YOUR ANTIQUATED FLASH SITE ALREADY! This lousy stripped down app wouldn't be even necessary then. Flash is so unsafe and outdated, most browsers anymore don't even want you to install it.
App leaves you with minimal access- only one feature you're paying for: the basic lessons. No access to learning games or to live tutor sessions, and cryptic images are made even more impossible to decode by being barely an inch across and grainy- absolutely no way of knowing what you're seeing. It's critical to functionality that you have a laptop. Though I can read Japanese kanji nearly to JLPT N1 from other educational resources, Rosetta Stone Japanese is harder to figure out at low levels. I walked away after being paralyzed with a required phrase that there's no way to understand... in desperation, I screen shot it so I could zoom the image as well as have a moment to look it up in a Japanese-English dictionary, and the word/phrase does not occur at all in it! I ask you, how do you learn while you're left flailing like that?
This isn't my first RS Japanese experience either; I tried it a few times some years ago, and it was psychologically crippling towards Japanese language goals... their "it's so easy, learn like a child does" tagline leaves you doubting your intelligence and capacity for learning as you struggle with no way of getting assistance from them at all.
Tech support is extremely slow, and often don't reply to you at all. When they do, they don't solve the issues, just tell you it's unsolvable.
Beware of auto renewal of special offers. I had returned to see how I would fare on a 3 month deal with RS after gaining a significant amount of vocabulary and knowledge of the writing systems elsewhere, ironically for closure from prior traumatic experience with RS, and for it's only semi-strength over textbooks (that is, if it's working properly): listening and speaking. I've barely been able to access it, and got an email today-a "friendly reminder" that they were going to roll my account over to a costly 2 year account, automatically billed in full in a few days. Just login to your account to cancel if you wish. Problem is, you can't do that from an iPhone at all! You MUST have a laptop or desktop computer to cancel your subscription. There's no way to do it from the app, and the app exists because RS's site is antiquated Flash, which isn't accessible to iOS.
Bottom line: horrible experience. You'll find that inevitable failure on RS will likely have you giving up your journey to fluency, doubting your ability to achieve it.
Great method but app executed poorly 3/5
The app is quite hoaky. Bluetooth headphones are starting to take over and the app barely works w. Bose Bluetooth headset. Design of the app is amateurish and UX is weak. The method of Rosetta Stone seems great and works but I can't help but feel that I'm learning but using a subpar app.
Love this app 5/5
My husband bought me Rosetta Stone years ago he bought the CD set once the laptop stopped working I bought a iPad now I can learn everywhere the app is on my phone too
Great one 5/5
Really this is a great app 👌
Good and fast learning
Starting from scratch 5/5
The most easy to use format. It's like teaching a child any language and then the knowledge compounds to help you and your language to evolve. Great work
Rosetta Japanese on the app 4/5
Love it, but the pictures are too small to see on my phone.
Great except for... 3/5
By Katt Lee
The app is great. I don't appreciate, however, paying $14 a month for a program I already paid a several hundred dollars for simply because I don't own a computer. And if you dwnload the lessons, you only have access to them for 30 days before you once again get locked out of them. Not cool.

I love the way it teaches and I memorized every word it taught me!FOR THE FIRST LESSON! I want to learn French and this is perfect. But really? 199 dollars to spend on an app?! I guess it teaches you a useful language but how's a kid like me supposed to surprise her parents with the ability to speak French! It's not even that, Kids don't have that money! I know it's mostly for adults, but they can even get the same teaching style and quality for way cheaper or free!

Very good but lacking English definition. One has to guess sometimes. I had to use a separate translator to know what I was saying. But it's still a good method and I learned.

Thanks for the reminders and tips that pop up to remind me to give it at least 15 minutes a day

I'm brushing 50 years of accumulated rust off my high school French in anticipation of a trip to Paris. I'm finding Rosetta Stone an excellent way of learning, but a few warnings for people who expect to get perfect scores.
They throw you right in the deep end. Maybe 5% of the time, the prompt is ambiguous and try as you might, you can't figure out how they want you to respond until you've guessed wrong and been scored an incorrect answer. But be patient. At the end of the section, will give you a chance to go back and try to improve your score to 100%, and the second time around, you'll probably figure out what they were looking for. And since the point is learning the language, who cares what score you got the first time through?
I probably won't fool any Parisians into thinking I'm a native, but I hope to let them know I'm not an ugly American who won't even try to meet them halfway.

I feel like I am in kindergarten but it seems necessary for a well-rounded understanding of a new language. It challenges you to figure out a situation using building blocks. Well done!

I am learning Spanish so quickly with this app . It has all the right techniques for learning; speaking reading and listening . My only gripe would be using it on my phone the pictures are small and it says I am wrong but really some pictures are not clear what they want . And even when it repeat perfectly if there is any noise it says I'm wrong.
Plus it kills my battery so fast.
Rosetta stone has really impressed me by their application on both android and iOS.
I never really like their CDs but their app on mobile devices is amazing I love using it on a daily basis no issues so far. Keep up the good work.
I love it 5/5
It really helps you learn and lets you pick the language to learn,I love this app
It's an awesome app to learn different languages
Great service, terrible app 1/5
The fact this app has close to a 5 stars rating is a testament to how great the service is in spite of an atrocious mobile app.
I get the sense that they put zero effort into the mobile app and simply reused the PC or iPad app design.
The app only works on landscape mode. Some icons and pictures are so small that you cannot tell what they are. You almost need a stylus to tap on the play buttons because they're so small and difficult to hit even on a iPhone 6 Plus.
You could circumvent those issues by using an iPad, but this current version of the app also crashes regularly and loses your progress.
Really awesome. Or should I say muy bien! I am having a blast and I am using the free version. I will Likely buy all the lessons. I really love be this program!

Gracias es un excelente programa. Quisiera saber cómo instalar este programa completo en mi Celular y iPad, pues yo ya lo compré hace dos meses
Rosetta Stone Support Doesn't Help 1/5
I've been attempting to get a refund on product for the past 25 days, and customer support is still unable to help. The ticket has been "escalated" many times, but they still aren't offering me a solution. I filed for a refund 15 days into my 2 year subscription (well before the 30 days allowed) because the service simply doesn't work for me. I need to sit down and focus on a book.
Well I've learned my lesson. I will NEVER EVER get any products from Rosetta Stone again.
