  • What a gift! Amazing. 5/5

    By Ki6H .
The library in your pocket! You can send any hard copy book in the system to the local branch, but the part I use most is reading ebooks and listening to audio books. Whenever I hear about an interesting book I check to see if it’s available from Libby and it is most of the time. Sometimes I have to wait, but they’ll auto-deliver when the book becomes borrowable. Great app, great service from Los Angeles Public Library. Thanks!!
  • In love with Libby 5/5

    By Cheapsteak
I discovered Libby completely on accident when I was searching for an online version of a book titled Libby. When Googled “Libby Audio book online” dozens of results for this beautiful app instead. I was frustrated until I clicked on the app’s link and practically fell in Love. Libby is by far the most used app on all my devices. I told everyone I knew about Libby for the following two weeks and any time I meet a fellow book lover. With the 7+ library cards I have, I wish I’d have know about Libby sooner! Libby has become my favorite multitask-able activities and I’m ALWAYS listing to a book through Libby. The only improvement I can think of is to increase the advertisement for Libby because I only found Libby by chance.
  • Much Improved from Overdrive 5/5

    By SammySSamson
This app has most if not all of the features of the Overdrive app while being much quicker and more stable even on older hardware. Nice work.
  • So easy to use 5/5

    By teamswitzerlandmom
Love this app! It should completely replace the other OverDrive app.
  • Bug 2/5

    By arandomguy yt
This app is a really good reading app with a annoying bug. My friend got me all hyped up for this series so I checked the local library they didn’t have it so I went to Libby and the book had no wait! I opened the book, excited, and... A yellow bar pops up at the top of the page “ This title could not be opened REPORT” Fix and I’ll give you 5, Arandomguy
  • WOW!!! I love this app!! 5/5

So I have been shaping 2018 to be my year to do better. I’ve taken on listening to audiobooks that will shape my next level. It has been phenomenal. I’ve listened to over 25 books in 2 months. I have a 30 min commute each way to work. From Quiet the power of introverts to Grit the power of passion and perseverance to Make your bed - each book has been enlightening and it has been just what I needed. This app was instrumental in making this transformation possible. It is easy to use, intuitive, reflective and everything and more than I expected. Not that I have liked every book but I could easily return it or take it off hold. I wish it didn’t take so long to get most books but that is about the library’s access to copies not the app. You can easily see your progress and place in line. Especially for a free for the public app I want to applaud everyone who made this possible. I’m a better person for it.
  • Libby is my new best friend 5/5

Infinitely easier to use than Overdrive.
  • Great, bug-free app 5/5

This does what it’s supposed to do - no muss no fuss. Love it.
  • Libby is an Awesome App! 5/5

    By Txdame
I love the Libby app. It is so user friendly and it’s great to have my book with me everywhere I go righton my phone.
  • So easy and reliable 5/5

    By WordGameLuva
Hated trying to use Overdrive and CW/MARS so much that I never borrowed books from my library electronically. Now with Libby, I borrow books and audiobooks all the time. The search feature works so much better on it and everything downloads seamlessly. I love this app! I hope it continues to work like this as, for me, it's flawless.
  • This is great! 5/5

  • Works great! 5/5

Only problem is occasionally when it wants to sync & there is no cell or internet connection. I live I a very rural area with mountains.
  • The BEST library app ever. 5/5

    By thessalia
As the subject states, it truly is the best library app ever. You can switch between libraries with ease if you have multiple county library cards. You can place up to 15 holds and have up to 30 books checked out. The format is perfect. Very easy to hold, checkout, and return books. Hey, and it is all FREE! Because libraries are awesome!! So use it! The more people that use their library the more books the library can get because their funds are based largely on how much people use them.
  • Great with two flaws 4/5

    By jocarden
I love Libby (& the Overdrive app). It has a beautiful reading interface which I enjoy using more than having to switch to the Kindle app. Two things are lacking. 1) The ability to share a highlighted portion via a share button (ie, to Twitter or Facebook). So far I’ve had to highlight & take a screenshot. 2) When I search & the book hasn’t been purchased, it isn’t showing at all (even with that option turned on). So it effectively takes away the ability to recommend titles for purchase. I’m reading on Libby, but still searching for/ checking out books on Overdrive for now.
  • Lifechanging App! 5/5

    By Nicole79866
I’ve “read” six books in a week! ❤️ In my ear buds, in the car, Bluetooth connected to my Echo. I can’t stop!
  • Awesome support for iPhone X! 5/5

    By iMikey
I enjoy reading and finding books with this app! It works very well - I have not had any problems.
  • Easier than Overdrive 5/5

    By 3687036
And I liked overdrive. Both audio and e-books are extremely easy to download and read. A great app
  • Love! 5/5

    By Military B.R.A.T.
This app is great. I like that I can borrow books, return them, and put books on hold all in one place and from the convenience of my home.
  • Really like this app compared to Overdrive 5/5

    By Picass0
The layout and functionality of Libby is much more intuitive than Overdrive and makes reading a breeze. I wasn’t sure at first since I’ve used Overdrive for years but I think I will stick with Libby to enjoy digital reading.
  • Awesome App 5/5

So user friendly and a very attractive interface. I enjoy reading digitally so much more now!
  • The best! 5/5

    By SheilaChew
Libby is the best app for audio books! It is so easy to use and to renew a book if I haven’t finished it. The display is pleasing and intuitive. I am able to load my library cards and stay logged in to browse their titles. I can push digital books out to my kindle very quickly. I use this app all the time and I love it!
  • This is so dumb 5/5

    By Tig o'l bitties
I can’t believe I didn’t hear about this before. Amazing application!
  • Love Libby! 5/5

    By MartyPaul
Great app for listening to audiobooks that I check out from our library on my phone. Especially helpful on road trips. Listening to a book while on the road makes the trip seem shorter.
  • Easy to use, quick, efficient, attractive, helpful 5/5

    By Pangura
This is a huge improvement and allows the reader to return books before the expiration date. Overdrive is clunky by comparison. I particularly appreciate that the numbers in a series are clearly shown so I don’t have to go hunting on the web.
  • Syncing from kindle on phone to kindle device 4/5

    By Deb22222
If I check out a book on Libby which I love it won’t do the above.
  • Favorite app on my phone 5/5

    By Koala Lou
Absolutely fantastic little app! I have an entire library at my fingertips, and it could not be easier to read or play audiobooks. Well done!
  • Awesome app 5/5

    By ToqWatts
Love it!!! Wouldn’t change a thing.
  • If you love to read this is what you need! 5/5

    By Tom3245687
I had tried earlier apps for Library reading that were so convoluted I gave up. This app has worked flawlessly, renewed my joy of true novels, and I can’t endorse it enough in terms of convenience and money saving over a Kindle
  • Hey now. 5/5

    By yzarcrazy
This app is actually cool; made available through my public library. They actually work to keep it up to date and fix issues. :)
  • Wish I knew about this app earlier, excellent 5/5

    By Cdt28
    Love it!
  • Good and bad 2/5

    By BWeiss911
In some ways, an improvement over Overdrive. More customizable playback speed adjustment, total progress bar. The bad: just a bug I think that Overdrive had a similar bug recently that they fixed, but the app doesn't seem to respond to "play" commands from a Bluetooth device (or even from lock screen) after pausing. So to restart I have to pull out my phone again, unlock and do it from the app. Going back to Overdrive until that bug gets worked out I think.
  • SUCH a better app than overdrive 5/5

    By mywordsarestara
My one criticism is I wish audiobooks had the ability to set a sleep timer to end at a chapter, instead of only selecting a certain amount of time. It would make it way more convienent! Otherwise, Libby has fixed all my previous issues with overdrive so I’m happy to use it!
  • Great App 5/5

    By Duce9
Love the functionality and the ease of using it. I am not a book reader but I am trying to do more. Used the app since I was unable to read a real physical book. Definitely recommend using.
  • So good :) 5/5

    By whmchale
Don't normally write reviews, but this app more than deserves it. Has reactivated the library for me in an app that is incredibly well designed. A high attention to detail for people that like to read pays off. Well done. And thanks!! Have shared with many people.
  • Great app to get library books 5/5

    By 0josie0
I discovered this app through Overdrive. I used it and fell completely in love with it. You can search what genre you want to read and either borrow or place hold. The book opens directly in my iPad so I do not have to download anything. I’ve found many books that I would not have read via this App.
  • Unreliable 2/5

    By CrabbyOL
Constantly jumps ahead, there’s no way way to adjust it. Lousy experience.
  • Love this App! 4/5

    By SpeedyGonzales5
It can sometimes be a little glitchy but so far it’s the best way to get downloads from the library.
  • I can’t believe how good it is 5/5

    By derickooooo
After using library websites and the old overdrive interface, I was used to some pretty outdated UI for library ebooks. Libby is so much better, and combines search/browse with reading and even supports audiobooks. Another amazing feature is that I can export ebooks to read on my kindle. One of my favorite apps ever! Thank you to the team behind it for making my library so much more accessible.
  • Audio books from my library! 4/5

    By Mongogordo
Easy to use interface. Wide selection of books. Just the right price; free! What’s not to like.
  • Awesome😀 5/5

    Love Libby
  • Love it so far!! 5/5

    By queenlucyofnarnia
So far I have only used the app to listen to a few audio books, but I have been very pleased with my experience. The interface and audio player are nicely designed and the app as a whole is easy to use. There are lots of great titles available for free through your local library. Definitely recommend.
  • White borders on comics are distracting 3/5

    By sesandro
I primarily use library apps (overdrive, hoopla, etc) to read comics. In Libby, each comics page is surrounded by white borders on the left and right, which is very distracting, especially at night. Every other digital comics reader I know of has black borders on the sides of the page. It’s still a great app, and I’ve had no problems with regular ebooks and audiobooks, but please fix the comics reader.
  • Great App for Busy Readers 5/5

    By KDiddyinDetroitCity
Library apps have their challenges. Silicone Valley are you listening??? This app is the best of the lot so far. More titles. Easy to Navigate. Actually “remembers” linked library cards. Wish it would notify reader before returning books.
  • Amazing! Just need a little fix for iPhone X 5/5

    By Lildre1503
This is an amazing app. I love that you can add your library card and even listen to books. I’m finally reading again. The one little fix is for iPhone X users. The onscreen touch bar stays on screen the whole time while reading.
  • i love Libby. 5/5

    By Dr Bobbert
overdrive used to drive me crazy. after years of interfacing with many different programs , i found overdrive continually frustrating trying to do simple things like just reading the book that I downloaded. So when I tried Libby and it was so easy to use, I just fell in love with the whole process listening to books again. Thank you to the programmers who created a user friendly way to abscess books.
  • Be a reading master 5/5

    By NumenorianEXILE
I have always been a reader, but Libby and my local library have now transformed me into a super reader. I mainly use Libby for audiobooks and it is so easy. I have never had a problem with the app forgetting where I was. I like that I can listen at 1.5 speed. I have so many books that I need the extra time that saves me. As a further testament to how much I love this app, I had my 7th grade students download it to use. Some of them love to get graphic novels and the images have always looked bright and clear. If you originally used Overdrive and gave up on it, you need to get this. It is nothing like the original.
  • I love reading! 5/5

    By Moose8244
This app is wonderful! It’s so easy to use and I love getting the books I want to read so quickly! The best part is not having to leave my home to pick up or return my books! Great app!
  • Incredible Improvement 5/5

    By RustyWoodenRobot
This is an enormous improvement to the original Overdrive App. Clean, simple, user friendly, and it works. Every single thing that made the original Overdrive app clunky and awkward has been addressed in this new app. I catch myself being amazed that searches, downloads, logins are not more complicated. I can’t believe they got it right. App ‘upgrades’ don’t work that way, do they? This should be the model for every developer and their attempts at improvements.
