Lifeline... App

“[A] surprising iPhone and Apple Watch bestseller is pushing the boundaries of fiction” - “This is the best game on the Apple Watch” - Lifeline is a playable, branching story of survival against all odds. Using your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch, you will help Taylor make life or death decisions, and face the consequences together. Acclaimed writer Dave Justus (Fables: The Wolf Among Us) weaves a gripping interactive story through the aftermath of a crash landing on an alien moon. Taylor is stranded, the rest of the crew are dead or missing, and Taylor’s communicator can only reach you. A totally unique experience enabled by modern devices, this story plays out in real time. As Taylor works to stay alive, notifications deliver new messages throughout your day. Keep up as they come in, or catch up later when you’re free. You can even respond to Taylor directly from your Apple Watch or your iPhone lock screen, without launching into the app. Or, dive in and jump back to earlier points in the story, and see what happens when you make a different choice. Simple actions can have a profound effect. Complete any single path to restart the story and unlock this mode. Lifeline is a deep, immersive story of survival and perseverance, with many possible outcomes. Taylor is relying on YOU. NEW in version 1.8: Stick around after the game for a special story epilogue from Dave Justus. For players who have already finished the game, the Sneak Peek becomes available under the game options. Enjoy! Internet connection not required. No in-app purchases and no ads. • Not working well with Apple Watch 1/5

    By Nick1857
This app used to be great and always worked. I recently got myself and a friend the new Apple watch series 3, and the app just loads forever. If it does pull up the questions to answer, choosing the answer will not "stick". This needs an update
  • Great concept, bad writing 2/5

    By 9 inch
I love the concept of this game, it reminds me of the choose your own adventure books I used to read as a kid. However, the writing here is really bad. The jokes are terrible, the story is weak and a lot of the choices you make are meaningless. For example there are several times where you have to choose between “what happened?” and “are you alright?”. I’m guessing that the raving reviews come from people who never read a good sci fi story, because this isn’t one.
  • Read this 5/5

    By Goopy AWSOME eggy game!!
Honestly, this game rocks, the storyline is perfect the events make sense and fit like perfect puzzle pieces and is EPIC!! the only reason people hate it is that the game takes real time, example: if your sorta-avatar is eating a quick snack it might take 5 minutes but if he's sleeping for a full 24 hours of rest it'll take 24 hours, the game is a mix of long and short time waits and the haters' tend to be inpatient with the time
  • Awesome game!!!!!!😆😆😆😆 5/5

    By R.L.G123
I love it! I couldn't wait for Taylor to get back to me! Whenever I would have a brake in school (I'm home schooled) or dance I would check him!!!! After dinner I would literally run up to my room and get right on my phone and answer his questions! It has an amazing storyline! It definitely answered all my questions! It has an amazing twist! I LOVE IT!!😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
  • Unique! 5/5

    By 🌞🌞🌞🌝🌝🌝🌚🌚🌚
This game is one of a kind, I like how it’s like you’re actually texting someone, they aren’t always there, and that’s what I find so great. The story line is ok, I wish they had more options for what you can say, and this wouldn’t be the game for you if you like playing games all in one go, it’s tedious. GREAT GAME 100% would recommend!!!!!
  • Why not Korean language. 5/5

I want support for Korean language. Please.
  • Suspenseful and addicting unlike any other game out there! 5/5

    By LiveinL0vex3
This game is unlike any other game out there. There’s no boring repetitive humdrum like most games. Also amazing because you don’t have to physically be playing on your phone to be playing the game.” The game is broken down into segments where you interact with the character. (See below where I mention pauses and notifications.) The fact that you make decisions that change how the character navigates his or her life or death situation makes you feel as if you are a part of an actual real life situation and that the character is a real person contacting you for help, it definitely does not feel like you are just playing a game. The pauses when the character is busy “doing something” are so suspenseful. This game even notifies you so you can keep up as your day goes by or catch up later when you aren’t busy. Making choices is really difficult at times. Apparently you can go back and change your choices and see how things play out differently which I haven’t gotten to yet but will definitely do. I will definitely be playing the other seven games in the series. So glad buzzfeed named this game in its list of “games you hAve to play right now.”

  • Superb Game 5/5

    By Tao-ish
Lifeline is extraordinary. I found myself thinking about Taylor's situation in the course of my day, just like I do with characters as I am reading an absorbing book. In fact, Lifeline is so well done I had to resist putting the app on "Fast Mode". Instead I just let our protagonist get back to me whenever she/he could, in the app's normal approximation of time. I didn't want to just fly through the story. That's right—there is not necessarily a "gender" indicated for Taylor. I wonder how many people even notice? What’s cool is I didn't even realize that particular detail, at first. My image of the character formed, naturally, from my own preconceptions, which I then had to examine. This subtlety is something I respect about Lifeline. It allows for interpretation, instead of spelling everything out. The powers of the imagination, when paired with good writing, can travel great distances.

Every time you interact with the story, you have to wait longer to have it read more. I would get it for a free app... but not for a paid app. COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY!!!
  • language 4/5

please update for persian language 😔
  • Unexpected death 5/5

    By Nancy870
When I was playing this and Taylor was in the control room at the peak, greeted with his controlled “friends”, I told him to stay calm and don’t look at their eyes. That was a mistake because I got messages indicating he had a heart attack. Then I had to start back from when he built the bootleg compass. Still, best game I’ve played in a while.
  • Lack of languages 3/5

  • No Ending 1/5

    By dekman001
I paid for the story and received several other stories so I thought this was a real bargain. I tried writing a review but it said i had to purchase, which of course I have the receipt. The story was a bit lame at first but gets interesting near the end. It finally builds up to him living or dying then communication gets cut off and a notice says this was the end! I then open up the second part and he was already back home, no explanation what happen or how he got out. What a waste of time and money. Find a better app.

  • Slow (reviewer busy) .......... REALLY slow. 2/5

    By Fordmandalay
Okay, I'm a VERY old school gamer, and when I read that this was a 'text adventure' game I got VERY excited, as I was hoping for something similar to what I'd played in my youth. This is NOT that. For all I know, the story may eventually become interesting. It's difficult to tell, because I've been playing it for two days and literally nothing has happened. The biggest problem is that Taylor, the character you're communicating with and directing, will actually give you maybe 5-10 lines of dialogue (mostly involving whining about his situation) and then.... go away. To walk, or eat, or whatever. And he will be gone for HOURS. So you wait, and go do other things in your life - except PLAY THE GAME YOU PAID FOR. Because until Taylor comes back, there's nothing you can do. Then he returns to give 5-10 more lines of whiny dialogue, and you will need to make a random decision that has no visible immediate outcome. Then Taylor goes away again for an hour or so. And you go do other things too. To be honest, I wouldn't even classify this as a game. Its not engaging, and so far not even entertaining. Massively frustrating and dull is probably the best description I can give. I do not recommend.
  • Awesome! 5/5

    By thematt28
While not exactly what you'd think of as a typical choose-your-own adventure (it seems they force you down certain paths), the amount of routes you can take and the compelling story itself make you keep playing the game and get you invested in it. Definitely worth the money!

This is a really great game. I haven't ever gotten so emotionally invested in a game character before! I really looked forward to hearing from Taylor through my day. I really like that it shows up as notifications on your phone almost like you are being texted by them. My biggest issue with this one is that it definitely could have been longer. If you want to try out an interactive story and like sci fi or mysteries, I'd very much recommend this!
  • Awesome, Amazing Game! 5/5

I very rarely lose sleep because of something that scared me. After finishing Lifeline, I couldn't sleep! I was scared! It was great! And I love Taylor! I cant wait to play the sequels!
  • Interesting 3/5

    By Space Hamster 5000
The app is pretty good for the most part. It sometimes feels like it a real person and your actually helping them in real life, but it's nothing more than you messaging him and telling him what to do and when it's time for you to tell him what to do there's only two options you Can choose from. I wish the game had more features like sending you pictures and give you the option to text the message you self rather than choosing one.

I love this game so much! I have replayed the story to choose different options to alter the adventure. It is really touching and sent goosebumps to me as I read it. I recommend this game to everyone who loves sci-fi adventures. Keep up the good work!
  • Awesome writing/ great on watch 5/5

    By Catbug30
There are so many things to love about this game. One unexpected feature is that it prevents me from getting overly involved in it or "addicted" to it and then just burn out. Or worse having to stop playing because it interferes with my focus on real life lol. But the way the game is designed prevents this from happening since it forces you to pace your communication with the game. I've played this game far longer than any other because of it. The humor is top notch, quality writers and game all around.

Haven't been playing very long (a couple days) but I can tell you this game is well worth buying, even though Taylor is in the peak right now. Which if you have played you will know what I'm talking about. This game is addicting and at the same time the developers make sure you put it down for a while and get back to life. Which in my opinion is something all devs should do!!! Can't wait to buy the other four, personal goal to finish this one first.

I can't believe how much fun and intensity is in a $1.99 game but it's insane I have only complements and this is the best choose your path game ever!!!!!! Definitely best $1.99 I've ever spent!!!!
  • Good game but one fatal flaw 4/5

    By Bad Magick
This is a great game and entertaining. The story is great and you can actually put yourself into the shoes of the main character. I often thought that I would react in the same ways myself. The only thing I do not like is all the waiting. I can understand the reasoning for it. The character does something and you have to wait for them in real time. It is an awesome concept, BUT you get 4 or 5 small messages then have to wait a few more hours just to get 4 or 5 more small messages then wait another few hours. If there was more talking between the waiting then I would not have a problem with it. I paid 1.99 for this game and have done nothing but wait and wait. Other games employ this tactic such as Timecrest, but they let you buy gems to speed up the time. I would be more than elated to do that with this game. I know after you beat it you can fast forward the waiting, but that should be an option to begin with.
  • Lifeline 5/5

    By MOMO 40008
Lifeline is one of the best choice based games I've ever played, course the game "choices" is the best, sorry lifeline.
  • Mediocrity Abound 2/5

    By Shadow Inferno
Lifeline attempts to create an in depth choose your own adventure style game but fails completely, the point of a choose your own adventure is that the storyline is fluid and dynamic, Lifeline is linear and static. The main character "Taylor" is void of any real personality up until you try to go against the story (which is clearly defined, the complete opposite of a real choose your own adventure) at which point he suddenly grows a spine and forces you back in the direction of where the lazy writer wants you to go. All of this would be fine if this game was 1) Free and 2) Didn't try to pass itself off as an avant garde new style game.
  • Amazing! 5/5

This is the first game of this type I've played, and it's been a roller coaster of fun! I felt like I actually grew a relationship with the character!

  • Great game, don't listen to haters!!! 4/5

    By Girl 13**
I have downloaded this game before on a previous device and only played some of it, but I just redownloaded it and I'm loving it! Overall, there is room for improvement but it keeps you on your toes with the storyline and the main character (Taylor) is witty and entertaining. Some people complain about the choices being limited and the gaps of time between when you play, but I love this game because it's quick enough to do between classes or on the go.

Fun story, very good value, and one of the best iOS games
  • Immersive, fun, and well written. 5/5

    By tetratarb
This game, well it's more like an interactive story, is phenomenal. Role playing as some lone cargo pilot on a ship by himself, talking to this man who has crashed on a moons surface in real time is amazing. Alternatively, going from day to day life will talking to Taylor never gets old, and you really do start to care about what happens to him. One of the best apps on here, good job 3 minutes.
  • Lifeline 3? 5/5

    By ninjago❤️ninja
Hi! My name is Leslie and I was just wondering about a Lifeline 3. I was thinking, maybe, to go on with the theory of a fold in the universe. And to have her come out the other side of the fold, or black hole, on planet U33J6 would be incredible. It would be a new beginning, and seeing Taylor again would make my heart skip a beat. She gets on planet U33J6 (which, if you remember, was the planet that they gathered the tunguskite crystal from) and fights off the Greens with the crystals' light. It would be an amazing story that I think everybody would buy. I just hope my connection stay-y-y ca-- hear me-e? [connection lost] [establishing connection] [reconnecting] Sorry.... The tunguskites' power is running low. Taylor and I are still working on the basics of the machine... (What machine?) or (Taylor?)
