Good, but has some issues 3/5
I’ve been using Lifesum for a few months. I switched from MyFitnessPal because the UI of that app was driving me nuts, and LifeSum presented a much more straightforward food tracker.
I’ve had two technical support issues with Lifesum, one of which I opened yesterday and is still ongoing.
The first was because I couldn’t get the app to appear on my Apple Watch. I jumped through all the hoops, it just wouldn’t install until on the advice of Lifesum support, I deleted and reinstalled the app. That got the Apple Watch app to install (the Watch app turned out to be terrible. It wants to be a tomagotchi, not show me my actual calorie count for the day. Really strange design decision folks.)
When I reinstalled the app, it lost lots of settings. My calorie counts were preserved, but all my notifications were lost, my weight loss progress was reset (talk about demotivating) I had to log into my Lifesum account multiple times to get it to recognize the premium account.
The current issue I’m having, where Lifesum only recognizes about 50% of my active calories, has been going on for a few days. I suspect it’s because I’m running the iOS 11.1 beta. Support’s first suggestion? Delete and reinstall the app.

It won’t stop helping track my data and generating a overview of what I’m eating.
Now I know why I succumb to bad food. Not enough calories!
Mostly Seems like a great app but prices need a little work 3/5
Me and my parents were interested in the app but we don’t think that the prices are fair enough. Instead of paying monthly, we can pay a one time fee/price in the apple store. That way we won’t have to spend too much money monthly and save the prices all up to one to pay for!
The app is mocking my weight. 1/5
I got this app bc I’m underweight and wanted to get healthier. When I tried to enter my starting weight it says “Are you sure that’s what you meant? Try a different number.” And will not let me pass that portion unless I enter in a fake weight for myself. So not a realistic starting point bc apparently that is just too gross to weigh what I weigh. It made me feel worse than before and so I found the app “my fitness pal” which is much more helpful and allows me to see an honest journey to my goals. Thanks for nothing though Lifesum.
Best app ever! 5/5
I am not a premium member though I love this app! Something I like is that even if you don’t have a premium account to get some recipe recommendations! The one thing I suggest is, hide the recipes tab if you don’t have a premium account.
To make it even better 5/5
By Hannah Schiok
Along with other reviews, I’d love it if this app would give me suggested meals to get back on track. Other than that, it’s awesome and I’ve lost 5 pounds in the first week, and more leaving as the days pass. Thanks to the team who created this.
Great interface but foods don’t log vitamins 2/5
I love the interface of this app! I would love to use this compared to what I’m using now, but it’s just not as precise as some of the other food logging apps.. this does not seem to log vitamins or minerals at all.
I love the app over all, it's user friendly and I love the smiley faces to tell me how I am doing. However, I HATE that it doesn't count net carbs especially because that is so important for a keto diet, since this app has the setting for a keto diet I would think it should be able
To count net carbs! Please
Please please update this feature!
Pregnancy setting 3/5
I have used this app and enjoyed it, but it's not working for me while pregnant. Their isn't a plan, or a way to edit a plan, for pregnancy, or needing to gain weight.
I love the app but when you add food to the snack category you can’t delete the food or edit it I think it’s a glitch tried deleting and re downloading still same issue won’t go away
No support for landscape mode for iPads 4/5
By Michael Anhari
This app is beautiful, but it's a bummer that it doesn't support landscape mode. I primarily use an iPad Pro and it's a bit of pain to have to unhinge the keyboard solely to use this app.

So far so good
I really get the value from Lifesum 4/5
When I'm good about tracking my food I get a lot of value from Lifesum. I miss when each meal had a letter grade instead of just a smiley face, it helped me understand my choices better.
My only other comment (and it's totally wishful thinking) is that it would be AMAZING if the app would make suggestions for foods or meals to eat to stay on track nutritionally. When I get off balance, I have to sort through my knowledge for items high in protein/fat and low in carbs or whatever and hope it's enough to correct my deficiencies. Sometimes I even type in a whole days worth of food in advance just to see if it will meet my desired breakdowns. It would be easier if the app would help you plan ahead.
I know, I know, ridiculous request. Otherwise the app is very user friendly and I highly recommend it.
Enjoying so far! 4/5

I really like this app visually. And I love the notifications - helps me stay in too if my water intake and eating st the right times.
I do wish there were more features in the free version. I can’t track micronutrients without paying (which I can do for free on MyFitnessPal) That’s really my only complaint!
I’m a breastfeeding mama and it would be awesome if that was an added to this app because it’s hard to track calories burned from feedings.
Best app 5/5
I was actually recommended to this app by my favorite YouTuber. Super cool way to track your day
Disappointing and Subpar 1/5
I really wanted to like this app and even got a trial of the paid version. I liked the idea of the recipes and health scale. Quite frankly, it’s underwhelming and seems like it wants to be more like MyFitnessPal or Fitbit. However, its scanning function hardly works, and a lot of the information it does have is wrong or incomplete. It also does not track vitamins and minerals, which are really important, especially if you’re dieting. You also have limited control over what information you can input for a meal or recipe. I will say that I like the faces next to individual food items, but again, this is only effective if the information attached to the food item is correct. This app has a long way to go before it can be real competition for some of the other diet and nutrition apps out there.
Buenísimo 💕 5/5
Es de mucha ayuda, es muy buena estoy muy feliz de tenerla😊😊😊💕💕💕
Love the functionality 5/5
By #shutUP. org
Wish I could afford premium tho
I love it. One little annoying thing... 4/5
I love this app with just one little thing that annoys me: it doesn’t read Apple health water intake. I use a different app to track water and remind me to drink water. I don’t want to track my water via lifesum. PLEASE fix this. It’s such a small thing but it would make this a 5 Star review.
Amazing App 5/5
This app is so much better than fitness pal at least for me. Very resourceful
Too many disturbance 3/5
Good application generally, but the ads to subscribe and become “pro” user and the amount of notifications I’m getting are just too much
Needs work 3/5
I’m an avid user of MFP and was excited to come across this app. I love how it looks and there are some great features. However, there are a few major issues that really prevent me from paying a premium or switching to this app. The cost is comparable to MFP but is lacking. If the app makes these basic requirements I’d absolutely pay and switch.
1. When searching for food and including a brand, IF it’s in the list sometimes it’s not even at the top. It’s like the search bar picks and chooses what it wants to pick up.
2. I’ll scan something and it pops up but if search prior to scanning it doesn’t. I know this is a newer app but based on the info it’s been around a few years. It seems like the database is still lacking
3. I cannot choose me exact macros/calories. It forces me to be @ 100% and those calories are higher than I want. I understand the app is meant to also help with goals and provides plans but if you want to cater to the larger audience you should be able to turn that requirement off.
4. That brings me to the plans. I think it’s awesome that there’s options for Keto plans but I can’t even see what they are or how the app provides that information. I think giving a small sample of setup and recipes would make the difference. I’m not paying a premium price if I don’t know what I’m getting first.
5. Customize the meals. Looks like all you get is BLD and snack and if auto populates the calories for each. I want to be able to select the number and meals and assign my own requirements.
Ultimately it comes down to a bigger food database, customization and previews.
You can’t have a pretty app and not have it function. Right now this is for really basic users.
Really really hope these enhancements come into play. Until then I won’t switch or pay premium :(
Enter own calorie and macro count 3/5
I appreciate everything about the app except for the fact that you can only custom enter the calories of a meal/recipe but not the fat protein and carb of the meal/recipe. If I know the exact macros as well as the calories, I want to be able to enter all of it for tracking without creating my own recipe. If I have a meal planning system or a recipe, I don’t want to enter each ingredient of the recipe, I just want to enter the calories and macros.
Vegan shebang 5/5
First, this app is great! Really user-friendly with a pleasant design. In the future it would be cool to see vegan-oriented food plans, maybe incorporate a question about it in the food test? Great app
Was great! 9/29/17 2/5

I don't know what happened! When I first started this app it was great......as of the September 27th update, all of my history is gone and when I type in my meals the options that come up for names of foods and company's are vague, very few options. I DON'T LIKE THE UPDATE! I was going to upgrade to the premium version.....not now......$44.99 for 12 months is too much for a bunch of recipes I probably won't use.
A fine tracker 3/5
By Le jej
The iPhone app is five-star and really great. The Apple Watch app is lackluster and doesn’t really allow basic input of info (at least not intuitively so).
Mostly great 4/5
Could do with some performance improvements. I’m on a 7 Plus and still experience little hiccups in animations and app transitions from time to time. Otherwise a great app though. Has really helped me put my lifestyle in perspective.
Excellent, beautiful. 5/5
Really great app. Would love to see more work on the Apple Watch app, but the iOS version is fantastic.
This app is keeping me honest. 4/5
I love this app. It’s generally easy to use, and it’s keeping me honest about what I’m eating and the macro tracker is super helpful. My own complaint is it has a limited number of body measurements that can be added, and there’s no way to remove or edit the added measurements once you’ve hit save. Fix that and this app would get five stars for sure!
Great app 5/5
I have been using this app for months now and has really helped with my food intake, I have found it very helpful. Figuring out what type of foods I should be eating to be healthier! Since I had no clue what I was doing! I'm thankful I found this app!!!!
Crash on iPhone 7 3/5
It went ok when I first downloaded it and it got stuck at some point but still can be used. But now, it crashes a lot more. Sometimes it goes black screen and not responding. I’m on iOS 11.0.1. And please add feature to remove product from scanned barcode.
Not worth it if you don't have premium 1/5
By vanessa sings badly
It's exactly like my fitness pal except for the recipe, which you have to pay for. Also doesn't show vitamin intake like MFP does. Only shows carbs, fat, and protein
Good app if you’re serious 4/5
This app, like other fitness apps is only good if you are serious with your health. The premium does an excellent job of helping you track more than calories. Hey I had really helped me push into my fitness goals. But the app is sometimes clunky to use (things can be hard to find and it occasionally crashes.)
Great App 5/5
Although they need more recipes for vegans it's still a pretty great app. The updates are very cool and interactive. Will and have recommended this app to all of my friends.
The set up is really nice! Buttttt MyFitness pal has way more food option selections. I also find that the nutritional information is different on here.
Useful app 2/5
Great tool to keep track of macros and easy to handle. But I don't like that I can't change the % of my macros. Sometimes when they don't fit in my diet program I lost track of them.
Beautifully designed and easy to use! 4/5
I've been using this app for about a month now and I love it! It's beautifully designed and easy to use. Somtimes the loading can take a little while, but they’ve fixed the bigger loading issues with this new release.
Pls fix 5/5
App seems not compatible with latest ios 11 update
App works fine now. Thanks for fixing! I really love this app as it keeps me on track how much I have eaten for the day :)
This app crashes every time I try to add a new entry! 1/5
App problems 3/5
I really wan to use your app , to track down my calories , but I doesn't let me right down the right lbs that I want ( it said did you really meant to write that)
Can you guys fixed that ?
I will appreciated that.
Diary view shows foods you’ve deleted. Have to constantly double check it is correct.
I've loved everything about this app so far, EXCEPT... 4/5
I've been using this app for several weeks now and I love it. I use the barcode scanner to enter in tons of foods and I've also linked my Fitbit to keep track of my exercise. The only thing I can't STAND about this app is that there is no setting for net carbs on the meal/eating plans. On a low carb/keto diet, fiber is subtracted from total carbs to give you an idea of the number of grams of carbohydrate that are actually impacting your blood glucose levels (net carbs). Without net carbs, it shows that my daily carb intake is WAY over what it should be when almost half of that is fiber. Please fix this and the app will be perfect!!
Needs landscape mode for iPad! 1/5
I won’t even mess with it until they make this landscape! 👎🏼
I keep trying to open the app and every time, the app goes on and then about 5 seconds later, it decides to just go off. I've deleted the app multiple times to try and fix it but nothing is happening. somebody please explain
The New Update 1/5
I can't go back and look at my progress without a crash.
Database was disappointing 3/5
Much more attractive than MyFitnessPal but it doesn’t have anywhere near the food database.
Loving it!!! 5/5
Super helpful. I love this app. I never write reviews or rate stuff but I really have found this app to be great. It has helped me to be much more aware of the number of calories I am consuming. It has helped me to become a more healthy individual and I have lost weight using this app. I found It to be very easy to use. Great app.
Great, but too $$$ 4/5
It's a great app. However, to the get the full benefits, you need to upgrade. The least expensive is $4/5 a month. I think that is way too high for app maintenance. You must pay the full year in advance.
Free version is good too 5/5
I love this app and even like the sad smiley faces when I put in junk food lol.
