What happened?? 1/5
Since the last update this app isn’t working correctly, it is constantly kicking me off when I am out for a walk. And I have to keep starting over and that’s obviously not giving me an accurate step or mileage count 🤬
Best Review Ever 5/5
GPS screwup 1/5
The whole reason I use this app is for the most reliable gps. Well apparently that’s not the case anymore. No way I ran a mile that fast. More like double the time the gps put me down for.
No longer supports companion apps 2/5
By Olympic fiend
Used to work with MyFitnessPal really well. Now, they won’t sync up.
Also now the workout shows up on the wrong day.... weird bugs.
Good app but I miss challenges 3/5
I am not seeing any new challenges lately which is a bummer. I also wish my iWatch 3 worked without taking my phone with me 😞
Very accurate. I keep track of my progress (good days and bad). On my bad days I look back on the good ones and know I’m making more progress than I think.
By y? 4 fun of course
Love the app but I really wish I could set a monthly miles goal instead of just weakly
Great run 5/5
The app is a to run with 🏃🏽♀️🏃🏽♀️🏃🏽♀️🏃🏽♀️
Highly recommend! 5/5
This app is great for my workouts. It gives me specific details of my progress and is easy to use.
What happened???? 1/5
I've been using this app for over 4 years and have loved it. However, over the past few weeks something has gone terribly wrong with the accuracy. It's telling me things like I've just run a 4 minute mile when I I'm really running like a 9 minute mile. It also is very inaccurate on calculating miles. This is really bad because I'm trying to rain for a half- marathon and it has ruined my last two weeks of running. Please figure out what happened!!!
Navigating Progress 5/5
What a great tool to have as I map my training progression for the 2018 NYC Marathon.
It’s a genius! 5/5
It’s a genius!
Used to be great 3/5
Now it shuts down my phone all the time, anytime it’s cold outside. Hoping this can be resolved—my phone’s an i6 with plenty of battery left, but when I’m running in 40’ weather the app will cause the phone to crash (even with the phone in a warm interior pocket).
Not accurately tracking distance
Runnin' Fool 5/5
I've never written a recipe for an app. But I love Map my Run
If it ever becomes not free I will buy it
Progress tracker 5/5
It helps track my goals and progress. It tells you your average mile time for different activities and your improvements.
Map my run-great app. 5/5
By Lil Kimkim
Works great, excellent adjunct to training for long distance runs. The split times are very helpful.
Love it 4/5
1/15/18 - the distance difference between all my friends Garmon/Nike/Apple/everything else is kind of annoying. It’s under the actual mileage by .1 or .2 per mile. My jokes that I’m just running faster than them is getting old too 😉. Still better than nothing for a free app (though I now have the paid version) and I still use it because my favorite challenge is the YVSTY.
I really love the challenges that come up, one of them challenged me to run 1000 km in a year. Even though I wasn't a runner before (I was planning on walking most of it) it challenged me to get out and run more and I absolutely love it. The distance is a little different than my Apple Watch but not by much. I love being able to look back at my log and see my progress.
Went downhill 2/5
Not sure what happened in the last updates, but this app has gone downhill. This used to be my go to app for running to keep track of splits, paces, and distance. The last few runs the app has crashed, even crashed my phone in the process and then would open back up with the location it crashed at but jump to where I was at in the run. Next when it did actually work for distance, it doesn’t play audio mile stats, so I have no idea where I am in a run until I look at the phone. Slow and unresponsive lately and pretty much useless.
Been using it for years 5/5
By Pinky poodle 56
I have been using MapMyRun for years to keep track of my distance and calories burned. I am able to judge if I’m improving or not by looking back at my previous workouts. I like that I can track my running gears and add different types of workouts and it all kinks to my other apps.
More Accurate than Garmin 5/5
I’ve used this app for a few years now and love it! I like that it calls out my currant pace per mile and average pace per mile. I have found it to be more accurate than my Garmin 920XT and have double checked miles in my car to verify which device is right. Good choice for training on bikes as well. Highly recommend it.
GPS Broken 1/5
Latest update ruined the app and its GPS tracking. Basically a fancy stop watch now
App is really easy and fun to use. It’s pretty perfect,I can’t think of anything that could be improved.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Needs work 3/5
App needs a better way to source shoes to add to gear. Current models of very popular shoes are not listed such as New Balance 880 v7 and Brooks Ghost 10.
Great app 5/5
Great app that’s all I have to say
I am hard to motivate and find that the mileage reminders help keep me on track!
Once you download this app you will NEVER be able to unsubscribe from Under Armour emails. I tried following the unsubscribe links multiple times, which did absolutely NOTHING. After that I tried contacting customer service directly. I have been communicating with UA reps for several weeks, and yet I still continue to get daily promotional emails. Beware!
Love map my way more than Strava 4/5
Hi. Map my ride is great because it works without cell service and you don’t have to have background refresh on (the battery killer.) My only wish is that it had that thing where it detects when you are stopped and pauses your workout. I always forget to press pause when I stop and then my average pace gets screwed up.
Super app! 5/5
They have fixed the auto pause feature so now it works perfectly. Calorie counter way more accurate than Strava.
No route planning 2/5
I travel the world. What baffles me is that this app won’t let me do any route planning. It only shows me routes close to where I am now. But, if I’m traveling to Europe or something, I want to plan ahead and look at available routes near my hotel for example. I can’t do that with this app. The lack of plan-ahead makes this app significantly less useful to me.
Map before run 2/5
Why won’t the app allow you to map out a run before you go out. Seems pretty basic to have that concept included. But this app fails to have such a preplan capability.
Best thing ever! 5/5
I started using this app a few years ago and it’s great! It conveniently stores all my run history. I can use it before a race to see what my Time was the previous year and also find elevation and splits. I also create challenges with my sisters and friends to keep motivated. I don’t know what I’d do without it. I especially love the year end and month end reports. Thanks Map My Run!
I like it 3/5
But doesn't always capture my route, therefore doesn't have my complete my mileage
What’s up with 2018!? 1/5
By Biff H
The last two times I’ve used the app it’s been all buggered up! I don’t know if it’s the new iOS or the app’s GPS interface, but my runs have been a zig zag and rubber band path that is not accurate for time nor distance. Looking back at my dozens of runs along the same route last year, I’ve never had a problem. If this is a ploy to get me to pay for the app, it isn’t gonna work!
NOT if you are a serious runner!!! 3/5
I've had it for several years and never really liked it...but still used it. It sporadically "gives" more mileage. The map will show that it skips to a strange place then rejoins you after pedestrian bridges, etc. This skews your distance and pace. Most blame this on your phone's GPS. (We do expect too much from a phone.) Why anyone would pay to upgrade I can't understand. For free, for chatting soccer moms, or for those too inept to know which shoes they are wearing it's okay to start with. It has worked all over the world but I just can't trust the info. If you stick with running or train for a race you will want a Garmin that has accurate GPS tracking. I had one training run 7% off from the same route the prior day.
Basically the app is a timer that imposes ads onto your workout with the benefit of marginal accuracy. Not bad for a toy and about the best a developer could do but to ask money for additional perks on a basic tracker using your phones technology is a letdown.
Pauses to easy 3/5
Been using maybe 1.5 yrs. you should make it a lot harder to pause or stop a workout. Seems to do it on its own when I have app displayed and put phone to sleep with on off button. Other apps (music) still will run. If I go to home screen first, then put phone to sleep, it’s fine and keeps running.
Even while running the app, one inadvertent touch of the screen and ur paused. Should prompt you with a “are u sure u want to pause” question. It does that regarding discarding a workout.
Give you split times, tells you current distance and times while running so very hands free!
What’s going on? 2/5
My app for my IPhone updates a few days ago and since then the map has me running off course or shortens the distances and the mileage does not add up to actual mileage. Now after I run I have to manually add route from laptop.
Inconsistent feedback 2/5
By Dee's IPod Touch
It was a cloudy day & i used the trainer with my run. I kept giving wrong feedback.
Most of the time 5/5
Works great most of the time. When it’s working, it’s great. Sometimes it doubles your speed which is very distracting.
Very accurate app 5/5
By Troy d7
I paired this app with my Fit bit charge 2 and readings were almost identical. Great app.
Great program. Have used it for years!
Helps me track my run perfectly. Now I don’t have to have to worry if I didn’t go far enough. I love it!! Would recommend to anyone who is a runner or someone looking for new routes to run!
Great app 5/5
Would like more comprehensible and applicable stats. i.e. improvement/digression comparisons, avg running pace vs. avg walking pace as apposed to a combined average avg pace, etc.
Great, Except when it crashes my phone 3/5
By Felicia Cumnock
I like the app a lot for tracking time, distance, and splits. But about every three times I use it, my iPhone 6 crashes. I need to make sure phone is fully charged before I take it out, but even then it dies.
Tracking doesn’t turn off 4/5
Sometimes the GPS for a run won’t turn off even after I “held to finish” the workout. Then the ending splits are all off
Good for lots of things but... 3/5
It is a good tracking app, maybe one of the better ones, but I can’t stand being constantly driven to the community. I do not want to see pictures of people I do not know or care about. I care even less about what they think of their exercise for the day. I love the opt-in aspect of the friends tab but viscerally hate constantly being bombarded by people I do not know. Please give an option to turn off open community and limit social aspects to friends!
Not Measuring real distance. 3/5
In previous versions of imapMyRun you could sync every now and then the app. I have. It been able to do this lately and I know for a act that the distance I run may be X and the app indicates it x-.4 miles or so. How can I sync the app again so that it gives me an accurate read of distance ran? Thank you.
Finally a free app that isn’t totally infuriating to use. It tracks my running and gives me options for other activity as well (walking, hiking, dog walking etc.) Arguably more importantly— it syncs with my music apps so I don’t have to keep switching back and forth, it will announce your mile-by-mile time progress and just leaves you to your run.
I am actually really happy with this app and looking forward to making progress 👍🏻👍🏻
