Navigation is not intuitive 3/5
The way you get to the app menu is a strange circle that floats at bottom of page and your menu of options changes based on the page you go to. I'm starting to get used to it, but it is so different from 99% of my apps where, for instance, there is a consistent menu of topics in the upper left corner. I don't like the navigation.
Make bill printable from app 2/5
Business travelers could really use this as a convenience. It seems to be getting more and difficult to retrieve my bill. Can't retrieve on the app at all and not all bills are showing up as viewable on the mobile website. Really not good customer service having to copy the ebill into a word document to transfer it or take a picture and scan it all the time when you're running all over the place. Would be nice to be able to sit and transfer it over when you have downtime like I do now, but can't because the app doesn't have that feature and the only option I have when I go to the website and view my bill is "rebook". My laptop is not always handy. Please make this easier for your mobile customers.
Has this Chat with hotel option 2/5
But no one is there to respond to your inquiry. However we Love staying at Marriott hotels! We try stay exclusively at marriott unless the hotel is booked.
Electric cars 4/5
I wish they had a way of saying which property’s had car charges on the front page or even personal choices.
Useless and confusing 1/5
Really not worth the download. Business travelers looking to go paperless and get copies of folios can’t get those via this app. The UI is super confusing, doesn’t follow basic UI conventions like a menu or a settings button, or a my account function.
"Hilton" APP Allows You to Select Your Room, why not Marriott??? 3/5
Been a long time Marriott customer and while this APP is good, it's lack some features to make it great.
Yes, it is okay for checking in, but until recently, I used the Hilton APP for a work stay. In the Hilton APP, you can actually choose the exact room (meaning floor and location) you desire right from the floor maps of the hotel!!! GENIUS!!! When checking in at a Marriott property, it's really a crapshoot on if you actually receive a room to your standard.
I am a bit of a room snob, I admit...but cannot tell you how many times I have had to change rooms due to a substandard room view (I.e. Looking directly into another's room w/ no privacy OR looking right at a wall).
Marriott does set the standard in hotel consistency, BUT Hilton's got you beat with their APP.
Reservations Missing 2/5
By John A. Brooks
At some point your app stopped communicating with Concur. Always before when I booked Marriott properties on Concur it would automatically show up in my Marriott app. Now it doesn’t. Very frustrating.
What’s he point of this app? 1/5
Clearly you are lagging in modern technology.
Why check in on the app?
I can’t pick my room. Hilton has you beat on this feature. On the Hilton app
I still have to stop in at front desk and give all he same information that you already have.
No floor plans for specific property
No descriptions on the room types at a location
No indication if there are carpet free rooms
I just reinstalled after having deleted the app -
A year ago and it still lacks many features.
Oh yeah and one more thing don’t track my location. Have an only only using app location choice
Awesome hotel brand and very good app! 4/5
Marriott has become my preferred hotel brand the past few years. I have appreciated the continuous updates to their app. The only complaint I have is the frequency of having to go from the app to their mobile website. Very frustrating because you the have to log in and is not as easy to navigate as a good app would be. It happens quite often but admittedly seems to be improving slightly.
Can’t View the bills 1/5
Can you please add the ability to view bills since they are PDF anyway?
Useless if you didnt book thru reward system 3/5
Booked rsvp. Rec'd email to "mobile check in" and suggest I DL app. Not able to link rsvp ref# unless you use Reward# while booking. Absolutely shocking.
Basic fail 1/5
Long time Marriott Rewards member. Installed the app, put in my name, rewards number and zip code as required. App said information was incorrect so I entered it again. Same result. Deleted app.
Bad software is bad software.
By Nobody really knows
Doesn't work well on iPad. Difficult to select dates if Saturday and Sunday included. Forgets search criteria.
Functionality is not good 2/5
The app only lets you look for a location. Why isn’t there a menu that allows a user too browse destinations. I’m looking for a vacation but not sure where and I don’t see anyway to do this. Also there’s nothing that says “go to the website”. I clicked on Marriott rewards and the it took me to a site that looks like the website. It should have more capabilities similar to the website. I cannot get the information I need from the app.
Fairfield check-in problem 3/5
I’ve had success using this with most Marriott properties for advance check-in. Got an email notice today for advance check-in through the app at a Fairfield. Nowhere on the app could I make an advance check-in. Got a bunch of promo stuff, but nothing directing me to my upcoming stay. Frustrating, although the advance check-in is overrated anyway.
I have tried for weeks to login to this ap but get an error every time. I called Marriott customer support and was transferred to 4 people over 30 minutes. In the end, I was told I would be emailed with a resolution to the problem. It has been weeks now, and I still have not received an email.
Congrats: Worst App Ever 1/5
Looks like Marriott spent a lot of money making this app modern and exiting. The only flaw is that NOTHING WORKS AT ALL. Why did you find it necessary to create a menu button that looks different and functions differently from any other menu button on every other app in the world? The point of an app is to be intuitive, not attempt to recreate the wheel. In spending their time and money on reinvention, Marriott seemed to miss the fact that nothing works on this app. The app won't even let me attempt to log into my account or pull up a reservation with a confirmation. This is a pitiful failure of an app from a $17B company.
Doesn't work 1/5
By Shopping Attorney
And they know it. Keep getting a message that it is having problems. Won't let me check in.
Great app 5/5
Love the convenience of using the app, try to stay at Marriott hotels whenever I can, always happy with Marriott.
App non functional 1/5
Since updating to the latest version this morning the app has been non-functional.
Directs me to website 2/5
Elite member, directs me to website. Dates won't change and have to close app. Get it together Marriott.
By Academic Socialite
Please fix your app., Marriott. Half the time my reservations don't even show in the app. at all. The rest of the time, the app. keeps asking me if I need a "service" from a hotel I've already checked out of. Get it together, Marriott!!!
From 1 to 5! Read my review 5/5
Fixed sort by points! Brought back support for 5/5c in 6.7.1! In all my years I've never been so proud to be a Gold member! Read reviews and actually fix things, that's how you make a great app, get great reviews, and earn every star - all 5!!!
Address of hotel when sent to calendar 2/5
By 190 Stays per year
I have made numerous requests to have the physical address of the hotel added to the calendar event when sent. I know the name of the hotel I made the reservation now I just need the address added so my GPS can take me there. Cannot be all that difficult.
About 95% of perfect! 4/5
I travel frequently on business and I love the Marriott app when compared to other hotel brands. They've added the ability see lifetime nights/points (lifetime Platinum in another few months! Woohoo!), and when they create the calendar entry for me they now include an address (but only city/state?!).
So this app lost the fifth star for two things: filtering and sorting of properties for award stays (I'd like to do a normal search looking in a particular area during a particular range of dates, but I want to sort by point cost), and when creating a calendar entry, the entire street address should be put into the event. I use my calendar events extensively for routing and navigation, including estimates of travel times, so I need addresses that work in Waze/AppleMaps without any fuss.
2017-09-29: I love this app, but still awaiting the two items above. A third item that I just thought of (not specifically app-related) is that Marriott has been slow to send emailed receipts over the last year or two. They used to arrive with 24 hours, now it’s close to 72-96 hours!? I do like being able to login using TouchID, though.
Poor design and navigation 1/5
The Marriott app went from a business user friendly app with limited features to reliable clicks and steps.
The heart beat is dumb, the pause to load navigation layers is old school programming, and the overall app is SLOW!
Check for prepaid hotels 1/5
By Reviewing central
Latest upgrade puts prepaid hotels on top of the list of options. You can only cancel these reservations within one day of making them. Cannot be refunded if you cancel, even if you are a Platinum member.
Sorry Mariot 2/5
Had to delete your app. Latest update gave info that I needed iOS 10.3. I currently have 10.3.3. Never would update the app. Bye bye.
Doest recognize ios 1033 1/5
Does not update- does not recognize latest iphone ios
App does not recognize software 1/5
I am trying to update your app but am getting an error message that my software is not current. It is! So something is wrong with your latest update
Most inconsistent app I have 1/5
This app only works about 75% of the time I try to use it. Not that big of a deal if I'm making a reservation. I'll just go to hotels.com, booking.com, whatever. But it is A VERY BIG DEAL when I'm trying to cancel and it won't work because that would potentially cost me money for a cancellation not made in time!
Marketing team should have no involvement unwriting an App 1/5
It's as if the marketing team controlled the whole process. It looks good, but has very little functionality as a booking tool. Then they try and put out s new version every month with so many bugs it's annoying. Been trying to use this App for a few years then always go back to web version. Last thought I had was that the people writing the App have absolutely zero travel experience.
Marriott, fix your app! 1/5
Like other raters, I tried to download latest update. I have iOS 10.3.3 and the app won't download because it says I need iOS 10.3.3! Useless! Fix your app!
Miserable App 1/5
By Sarah HI
I love Marriott and only stay with the brand, however, if I want to book a room I make sure I'm home and load up my PC because the app never works. Design a new one. This one is terrible.
Haven't been able to login for weeks 1/5
Each time I login I get the message "we are unable to process your request at this time due to an uprocessable condition." Called and they told me it has been down and every time it come back up it crashes again. Expect much more from Marriott.
Current update broken on iPad 4 1/5
The most recent update fails to download on my iPad 4, stating that I need to upgrade to iOS 10.3.3. That IS the iOS version running on my iPad. This glitch is preventing me from running "Update All" on my device, as it always crashes on the same error message from Marriott. Please fix this, or I will be forced to remove this app from my device.
Compatibility issues with iPhone 4s 1/5
By Loyal rewards member
Disappointed not to be able to download the most recent upgrade when all previous versions work just fine on my iPhone 4s.
Newest Update Does Not Work 1/5
Can't change the dates, can't put in special rates.
Fix your update. 1/5
Will not update correctly.
This app is broken 1/5
This used to be a great way to book when on a trip. Now cannot even log on or contact support. Will have to use another company.
I hate this app 1/5
They make it way to complicated to do a simple search by zip code.
This app has gotten worse. Have the latest operating system 10.3.3 and the app won't update because it says I need to be 10.3.3 or higher.
Needs more features 3/5
Would love to have more features such as a way to access hotel receipt. Last time I never received an email from my hotel stay and it's a pain to go into the full site to get it. The other hotel chains have it. Put a feature to see, print, email, etc the receipt straight from the app. The app is fairly generic as it is.
Worst group and rewards system ever 1/5
By Max & Waldi
The red tape and hoops they invent to jump through not to give you points is sad. I booked and paid for 45 nights the past 3 months and got credit for 2 nights. Super sad. I’ll do my best not to stay in a Marriott again.
Stuck in update!! 1/5
Platinum Member here. The app is stuck in "installing" mode for days now and can't do anything. I can't erase and reinstall either. I use this app and have travel coming up this week. Help!
From the other reviews, I see the upgrade is not great. It at least their apps work. What can I do in my case???
Does not work on 4s 1/5
Useless since it no longer supports iPhone 4s.
Not iPhone 5c compatible 1/5
Inexcusable oversight! Do you not realize how many people still have the very popular iPhone 5c?
I am Platinum at Marriott, so it is a shame I cannot use the latest app.
Problem with update 2/5
Says you need 10.3.3 or higher to update - I have 10.3.3 - but won't update app. They need to fix it.
Horrible app 1/5
I tried to book a hotel; app kept crashing, Touch ID did not work and so I ended up using hotels.com app to stay at a Marriott property and they refused to give me my rewards points. Too bad u can’t give them 0 stars.
By H a t e this thing
Got notified it was time to update the Marriott app. My iPhone's iOS is up to date at 10.3.3, but when selecting Update through the App Store, the message came through that the latest iOS (10.3.3, exactly what it asked for!) was needed and I could download the latest compatible version, leading me to believe it couldn't recognize the settings on my phone; conversely, the other apps I updated had no such cautionary statement and freely updated. Hmmm...
Agree with other recent comments re upgrade-clearly mixed messages. In my case states I need a specific IOS version that I have installed, but no dice. We all can't buy new devices, heck many Marriott locations need upgrades too.
App provides for requests pre visit, what about our post visit comments? Should be a place for those too. Unlike others in the travel industry I'm never asked about our experience at a Marriott property.
