Medisafe A Must Have Application 5/5
If I only were to be able to have one application on my phone this would be the application. I have not missed taking a medication, not forgot to place a refill or missed a medical appointment since I downloaded Medisafe Pill and Medication Reminder. The time spent in setting up the application is well worth it since you can leverage so much out of it. Test results, diary, tracking of important statistics, calendar, medical contacts and you set up a Medifriend who gets notified if you miss a medication or even if you don't check in. Then everything you put in can be mailed out or exported in CSV.
Thank you 5/5
By Receiver broken
Thank you is all I can say! I have used the app for over a year now and it has helped me to ensure i am taking my meds. I highly recommend this to anyone that needs to track the medicine they are taking and want an application that works. Best in class!
Useless-recent update broke “take” and “untake” 1/5
I can no longer mark an individual medication as “take“. When I press it I get my keyboard instead of it registering that I’ve taken that medication.
They no longer let you record that you took a pill in the past. Sorry but sometimes my phone is in another room when I take a pill.
If I can’t log which medicine I took when, then this app is useless.
Good app, needs some tweaks 3/5
Good app. Does what I need to remember to take my meds.
Could use some tweaking for the watch though. When I want to change the number of pills on the watch, it does so in parts of a pill, not a whole pill. So on my watch to take 4 ibuprofen; takes like 2 min to enter.
Other than that a decent app.
Won’t quit 5/5
... which is good. Just take the pill already!
Good but have suggestions 4/5
Very good app exceptionally for me because there have been multiple times where I forgot wether or not I have already taken my pills, so I had to not take them just in case so I don’t overdose, and so maybe I missed a few doses. With this I don’t have to even worry about memorizing. As soon as I take the pill I mark it down. Easy.
A suggestion that I have is maybe putting in non prescription pills. I know there are a lot of pills out there and it’s difficult to put them all in, but maybe? Just try at least? Maybe you are and I just didn’t notice idk. But I take certain pills everyday that are non prescribed, and yes my life doesn’t depend on them like it does on the prescribed ones, but it’s still nice to know that I took them.
Maybe instead of that you could just put in a “custom” button and we can put in our own name and have a few shapes and colors of pills to choose from.
Otherwise this app is obsoletely a 10/10
Simple and straightforward 5/5
Easy to use, reminders really help.
Like the app! 5/5
I like that you can load your meds but my favorite feature is that you have to confirm that you have taken your dosage. I used to forget, but not anymore! Yes
By Want to be fit !
So far the app is good. But I use my watch for reminders like this and when the reminder pops up it doesn't show which med I need to take. It just says to take it. I actually have to open my phone to see which one to take. So I would like to see which med to take or th. option to set it to show.
Also, it seems if I say I took the med on my watch, it doesn't register on my phone app that it was taken. Maybe it needs more time to register on the phone, I'm not sure. I would like it to be able to be operated pretty much solely by my watch without opening the phone app.
Skipped important medication 3/5
By Way Past my Prime
I wish there was a sound to remind me. Not always looking at phone. Missed antibiotic because was sleeping & not feeling well. I guess SIRI could set an alarm.
Useful App 5/5
By Thor Fuzzybutt.
Thanks for this App.
Best Rx reminder 5/5
I’ve used a few and this is the best. I really like the refill warning!
Medication alarm reminder 5/5
This app has been a great blessing when I get too busy or distracted it was alarmed me to take my medication so I don’t go without taking them.
Needs iPhone X Support 3/5
Everything is great but it doesn’t take full advantage of the iPhone X.
Great app! 5/5
I love how well this app works! I can’t forget to take my medication and this amazing little app does exactly what it says. It would be nice if I didn’t have to click twice for every alert though. (Click that I took it and then again for take it now, take on time, etc) Just one click and done would be more efficient.
Excellent for reminding me about meds and feeding the bird 5/5
The free app works very well and over time, I will transition to the Premium account if my needs grow for med monitoring.
The Best 5/5
I have tried every pill reminder in the App Store. Medisafe is by far the best. It has the most comprehensive functionality, yet is the easiest to use.
Update in the wrong language 1/5
I speak English only. My phone’s operating system is in English. I live in the US and never travel abroad. But my latest Medisafe update is in Korean. I’m afraid to download it. Please fix this.
Update for iPhone X & A suggestion 5/5
My suggestion would be to add another timer or notification (of course let it be an option) that tells you you’re set to eat.
The pill I take, I have to wait about 30 minutes to eat after I take it.
Having a feature like explained above would be very helpful.
Very good app on phone 3/5
While Apple Watch compatible, responses made on Watch do not update iPhone. Not end of the world stuff, but it is a feature that was once seamless.
Just a suggestion 4/5
I really love this app! One thing that would be awesome to incorporate is the ability to enter in one time medicine. Ie: ibeprofrin, Tylenol, tums. Things like that so that if I take additional medicines I can track how much of those I’m using along with what the doc has prescribed day by day. I’m a visual person so to be able to visually see that would be AWESOME!
Love it 5/5
Love the app but have a couple requests. The reports needs option to select multiple meds and option to select active meds. Currently only has option for all meds (including deleted meds) or one individual med. would also be nice if there was an option to view/delete inactive meds. And Excel report needs med measurements on it (dosage and amount taken)
Notifications issue 2/5
The app is good to keep track but not as a reminder. I don’t get notification.
I appreciate this app so much. I am Type 1 diabetic, and it has helped remind me every busy morning to take my insulin. It has been a valuable tool.
Love the App but one feature needs to be fixed 4/5
Hello first off this app is amazing. Only one item needs to be fixed or updated. When you click into a medication and in the bottom right try and click "take" on an iPhone x the app won't recognize that your pressing anything. The workaround is to click take from the main menu which works except when there is more than one medication due at the same time.
By Patrick Colvin
So helpful and easy to use. Can’t recommend it highly enough. I only have one pill a day to remember, but I’m sure I couldn’t do it reliably without this app.
Bugs with time zone changes - cannot handle 2/5
I’ve used this app for over a year. Unfortunately, when you change time zones, the app cannot handle the change successfully. I’ve taken 3 trips east to west and back. Every time zone change fouls up reminders and causes the app to hang up when trying to correct future reminders. I’ve endured as long as I am willing to. I’m now parking this app in the useless and frustrating category.
Will Not let Re-download Medisafe 2/5
Sadly since last Medisafe update my iPhone Medisafe app disappeared with all my personal information still in it from my iPhone, and when I go to the AppStore to try to re-download it’s not letting me re-download it back into my iPhone but some how I’m still able to get into my Medisafe Account and all my personal information is still in the MediSafe App 😢😪
No option for frequency by hours 1/5
I’d love for this to work but I’m trying to schedule meds frequency q8h and the closest option is tid which does not calculate the time correctly. I was advised not less than q8h for an opioid but the tid option give less than 8 hr frequency. And if I change the time, it adjusts.
Nice, but 3/5
By Not much of a BB'r;
In an age where most of us have two or more devices, it would be nice if the Medisafe data would keep up.
Saves me from wondering if I took my meds or not . 5/5
A wonderful app that helps me remember my meds. As often I’m not sure if I took them or not .
Love this app! 5/5
I was constantly forgetting if I took my meds or not , memory loss is a side effect of the meds go figure but with this app it reminds me to take them and if I have forgotten if I’ve taken them I can just check the app it’s great ! If you’re like me and have memory issues and take meds on regular basis this is the app for you, it’s easy and free !
Works great! 5/5
Awesome app that works really well. My only complaint is that on Apple Watch pressing “Take All” doesn’t register back to the phone app and I keep getting reminders.
Best App of its Kind. But Bug 4/5
I generally like Medisafe. It's the only app of its kind I've used in years because it works as it's expected to.
However, recently I added my dad as a Medifriend and, unless I have checked off my medicine prior to the 9am/9pm reminder time, it keeps sending him notifications that I didn't take it. I get three reminders between 9 and 9:20. If I take it by 9:20 there's no reason to send a notification to my father at 9:30.
Please fix that and I'd be happy to bring it back up to 5 stars.
Very helpful application. Some steps could be simplified, but overall it is a nice app.
Great App! Would get again. 5/5
Using this app has helped me improve how often I take my pills by a lot! I upgraded to the premium service so I can keep track of medications for my family members too. This is so helpful. It nags you just the right amount. It doesn’t annoy me. It just reminds.
It is pretty easy to figure out. It’s very logical. I was looking for something really helpful, and this is it. I’ve used other med reminder apps before. This is my fave. It’s not too complicated. It works really well. I manage several medications for me, my husband, and several kids. It was an obvious choice as soon as I entered in my information. I immediately wanted access for my family members. I was tired of running out of meds for my kids because I was managing too many prescriptions. I have no regrets. I don’t have enough good things to say.
Missing a Calendar and easy editing of Med History 2/5
Suggestions and complaints that I’ve made for over a year.
I’m a pro user and I’ve been making these requests for a VERY long time.
It is good at sending you reminders to take your medication. That is about it.
This app is poor at medication history management.
I should be able to pull down on the date above the pill box (morning, noon, evening, night) screen and be presented with a full 30 Day Calendar.
This calendar should present us with an indicator indicating that medication was logged or not logged for the specific days.
I should be able to select the day and delete, edit or add a medication.
Currently the only way to check to see if a medication was taken last week Monday for example you either need to tap tap tap the arrows above the pill boxes or you need to go to the adherence tab and scroll and scroll to find the date to see if the medications was taken. This is inefficient, unproductive and unpolished.
- you are unable to log a med due to a meeting or dead phone and remember two weeks later because your adherence should be 100percent
- Incorrectly logged a medication mg or number of pills for the as needed doses you took.
- You entered the medication info incorrectly before you set up the Reminders.
- Trial run a medication and it did not work /side effects were intolerable and you remove the medication from the cabinet and in error you choose to keep the logged history.
- You prefer to keep the med in the cabinet but want it removed from the logged history there is no way to easily delete medication history.
- if you started a medication in January but just started to use medisafe in March, there is no way to easily add doses for those dates.
I hate that you can not delete or edit medication history from the adherence tab.
The only way to edit (for report accuracy), add or delete medication history is by tapping the arrows above the pillbox over and over and over to get to the date for the med you want to add, change or remove.
Integrate a full 30 day calendar so we can easily move between dates !!!
Or allow us to add, edit or remove medication from history via the adherence tab !!!
I can’t believe such simple functionality is missing.
Constant reminder 2/5
I hate the continuous reminders this app gives. I don’t always have time to click. I want just a reminder - I don’t need to click I took my meds!! Very aggravating! And you can’t turn it off!
Great App 5/5
By C182 Pilot
Such a great tool. Especially when you are taking multiple prescriptions that make you sleepy. Even if I are sleeping it buzzes my care time and they can call and ask if I missed it or slept through it. It’s perfect for me one hundred percent ✅👍
Not what it use to be. This app was one of my favorites now it has so many problems. Crashes half the time and when I get a notification that it’s time to take my medicine and go to mark it as taken from the notifications it doesn’t mark it inside the app. I have to open the app itself just to mark that I’ve taken them. Plus it reminds me every 30 minuets so if I do try to mark it from the very first notification the other ones don’t clear with the first one like they use to. Please fix ASAP.
Super helpful - Good reminders! 5/5
By Astral Dust
I take multiple medications, including one three times a day for narcolepsy. This really helps me stay on track, as I’m super busy as is. And it’s customizable, too! Set your own times and very easy to track your medication habits. You can even set the time that you took your medication in case you need to know the specific time since your last dose. Very quick, simple, and effective. I appreciate this app and the developers’ work.
One thing I would like to see, however, would be more drop-down functions when it comes to notifications (like skipping the medication without having to open the app). Right now I believe the only options are take and snooze.
Either way. Great app. I look forward to seeing what you all do in the future and how you can further improve an already-great app!

Measures above others 5/5
I’ve used a lot of different medication reminders - apps and methods. For as unassuming as this app seems, it really does a number of things well.
Other apps would randomly completely ‘lose’ all my medications and reminders (Mango Health), while another would just stop reminding randomly (Round Health), and yet others would just stop letting me mark things as taken.
Just the our fact that this works well, pleasant UI (quirky in some ways, yes), and such puts it above others I’ve tried over the past 1+ years.
Perfect for keeping track of meds 5/5
Love this app. The best I’ve found for ease of use, no ads, simple reminders. Can’t believe it’s free!
Great but some things could be improvised 3/5
A couple things don't seem to work or be efficient like creating an account and as needed medication being a bit hidden to record you used them. With creating an account I'm always told "Something went wrong. Please try again." no matter if I'm on Wifi or my cell service.. As for as needed medication if you moved the date up and the morning and after noon spots up then the evening and night spots down there may be room for as needed medication.
Great app + watch companion 4/5
Didn’t get 5 star cause I can’t collaborate with my wife on her iPhone to monitor my baby’s meds when he was sick.
Otherwise, great app with follow up reminders and huge knowledge base of medicines.
Iphone x 4/5
Please support for iphone x 😙😊
Taking medications from notifications not working 2/5
I used to love this app, but since iOS 11 it’s been buggy and doesn’t register medications as taken when done via a notification on the Apple Watch. It gets annoying as you think you’ve marked one as taken and then keep getting reminders for it.
Will Highly Recommend 5/5
I’ve been a pharmacist for over 20 years and this app is amazing. Will be recommending it to all my patients
Sometimes deletes data 3/5
I love this app but the last few weeks some of my data isn’t saving. I’ll record taking my medication but when I look the next day everything is blank again. This worries me that I might end up taking something twice. I’d hate to find a new app, but I might have to if the problem isn’t fixed. I’ve used this app for years and up until recently I’ve loved it.
