Like the app, but fix the brightness! 4/5
I do love the idea of the app and it is working well, except one thing: Every time I try to use it, it automatically changes the brightness setting on my iPhone! Literally, I have the brightness on auto set and as soon as I open the app, my phone settings are changed to the brightest harshest light. Not sure why that is happening, but by now, nearly everyone knows how bad that is for your eyes. Please fix that.

I like being able to make lists, and the aisle number for each item is extremely helpful.
The down side is I cannot add my rewards card to my Wallet app. Hopefully in a future update the feature will be added.
Definitely worth a download though!

Great app, Love the in store filer and how it tells you where the product is in your store! I'm using this app to find things I could use for my Halloween costume and it's going perfectly!

Great app! If you love arts and crafts, it's a must have. Found new ideas and exact color of yarn that I was looking for. It even told me where it is in my store!

I've always loved this app! I'm a crafter so I always use the coupon however since it can't find my location I can't use the coupon nor shop on line.. never used to happen with the old app! I've deleted it to download it again.. same problem! I have 3 michaels within a 10 mile radius that I frequent so HELP!

Tried to create an account in the app. Filled out all the info, accepted terms of agreement and that I'm over 13 years old only to find no submit button so you fill out the info and then nothing. Thanks for wasting my time. And you can't use any of the tools (e.g., my list, etc.) without signing in. See you at Joann's.

I love how easily I can access my rewards and coupon barcodes. Sometimes I don't want to wander the store to find an item and the feature feature to locate items by aisle is a wonderful time saver. I just wish I could rearrange the items in my list.
Please fix the auto brightness 1/5
When it loads to a new screen it turns it to max brightness, even when I manually adjust it. It's actually quite disturbing in a room where you don't need the phone set to max. Thank you for your time, I genuinely appreciate it.

my email and phone number always can't be verified. I tried change email or phone number, and again and again I saw Oops, your email and phone number can be verified. It's a really not understanding. I delete this app and I'll not advice it for my friends.

I couldn't even create an account. I entered my name, password twice, clicked "I agree" and "I am at least 13" and then there's nowhere to go! No "complete" button, or anything. It won't let me select a store. I touch the store that pops up, I enter the zip code... nothing works. So, I just deleted the app. Maybe I'll try again, later.

The auto brightness isn't useful. It's not a necessary feature. The special effects when scrolling gives me a headache. Sometimes less is more. I do appreciate the coupons being at the top right corner, as well as the 'weekly ad" page.

I want to love this app, but key pieces don't work for me & I have to use the web anyway. Using iPad mini 4, iOS 10.3.3. Reset password link never actually sends a reset email; "create new account" page has no way to submit information after filling out and checking appropriate boxes, so no way to actually create an account; contact page email doesn't provide an email address, it just errors unless native email app is configured - I don't use native email; when clicking the scissors icon for coupons, it automatically maxes screen brightness - it's awful. Normally I'd send these things via feedback or ticket within the app, but there's no option. I'm sure it's a great app if a person could reset passwords or create new accounts - for now I'll just use the web.

Wow Michaels you really out did your self. However, I cannot find the section for what aisle the items are on? Your section for the coupon can be toned down a little a tad too bright. Now when superstition store 9505 moves things around and changes aisle is the app going to be updated to reflect the NEW aisle the item has been changed to? Other than that I love how clear and easy to navigate it is.

I've used the old app for a long time. The new one didn't recognize me, didn't remember or even acknowledge my email address (which of the 3 was it?), didn't accept the password (that one I have written down, so I can just copy & paste it). Doesn't know I'm a rewards member, & won't accept email & password.
Crummy way to blindside a loyal customer.

Cannot access ALL coupons anymore 2/5
I don't understand this latest update. Now, I have to sign in each time I go into the app to access my rewards barcode (highly annoying), or I have to rely on the cashier remember to ask for my phone # (also annoying). Bigger issue - all of the coupons out are not in the app! There is a purchase coupon for 25 % off entire puchase that was texted to me but it is not in the app. Downgrade.

I thought seeing I but quite often from the store it may be easier to install the app. DONOT waste your time. Let alone request forgot password. Nobody will respond. This is the same as going into the stores. Never service or help. I foresee this store eventually closing doors due to lack of staff. Let alone trying to get the app to work. The only reason I installed it was to save myself the aggravation when I'm in the empty store. Delete and order on line from anywhere else.

Update! I received a response from the app developer saying to click on the scissors icon to access the coupons however this puts me in the same loop. Click the scissors and it forces me to choose a location and then does nothing. Still no access to coupons? :( my phone is updated and my app is updated.
I used to be able to click on rewards from the home screen and see all my coupons. That tab is now gone!? When I click on my rewards to access my coupons there, it forces me to pick my store location. I do that but nothing happens and no rewards or coupons are ever shown. I had a line behind me trying to get to my coupons and finally gave up and paid full price. I'm not a happy camper. What use is the rewards program if you can access it easily from the app. Forcing you to choose a store location is also a waste of time! I shop 3-4 different Michaels stores, I don't need a map. Please put this back the way it was :(

On this "updated" app you have to constantly put your preferred store. No matter how many times you have already added it. Then you must keep on going through pages to get get to where you want. The old version was so much better and easier. I won't even bother with this app anymore. It's too aggravating. It's just easier to use the hobby lobby or jo Anne's app to see what the sales are and just go there.
...with the "new" app. I see no reason for Michaels to know my location in order for me to view "My Rewards."
This will only send me to Amazon more often.

With the updates it seems like they took out the list required for the make events and class you could pull up the projects and supply lists and directions with it so now you can't and it limits the number of projects you can save now as well 😕
Blinding brightness hurts my eyes 2/5
New update blinds me and leaves my phone blinding bright. They should make it bright only when barcodes need scanning not any other times. And why doesn't it change back to my original setting after using?! Very annoyed. I can imagine this causing problems for elderly people, like my parents.
So it's great for buying it wouldn't let me put my exact name and the password was 8 letters and stuff in it it would not let me put in in the sign up is so ridiculous

I love the new look and especially the shopping list feature. That being said, the app isn't completely accessible for those using VoiceOver, which is something the dev team might want to look into.

The updates are great and all but it needs to have a place to add gift cards so you don't have to carry those around. I don't mind carrying membership cards but gift cards are annoying.
Can't access in-store classes or Crafty 5/5
UPDATE: Got a response that they are going to add the classes feature. Since that was my only concern I'm upgrading my stars to 5. I trust they will do it. I love Michael's!
I love the app, even the improvements, but as I mentioned in the title, Can't access in-store classes or Crafty. We never have been able to in the app, Why?? BTW, I so love how ALL the coupons show up now. In the old app I still had to go into my email to find some of them.
My Rewards not loading 3/5
As a frequent Michael's shopper, I was excited to get the app. I am also a Rewards member, however the "My Rewards" feature just leaves it stuck loading indefinitely and I have to exit and re-open the app to do anything. Otherwise would probably give this 5 stars, but please fix it!!

HATE the battery-eating brightness to 100% feature. Maybe the app could have a toggle for brightness on the coupons page for those who found brightness a problem?
Haven't checked out the map function--just want to get out the sunglasses and lotion. I mean, just wanted to close the app to make the blinding light go away. Please hurry with an update.

I love this app & the improvements! I like being able to check on which coupons I have available, what isle to find what I'm looking for if I'm in a hurry, and look at the sale items. It is handy to find the closest store if you are traveling or shopping in a different area than normal. Now if we could just stack your teacher discount to be used on EVERYTHING-that would be perfect!

Update to previous review: Spoke to Michaels and got the phone number issue sorted out.
I do notice the brightness issues like others have mentioned but it's not a deal breaker. I really don't like the fact that it redirects you to the website if you want to shop online. I know Apple takes a cut if you purchase stuff through the app but it's not very user friendly.

I used to LOVE the app. Now I can't find anything. It lost my information. I can't remember my password. It was supposed to be emailed to me. I never got it. I was hoping signing in would make it easier to navigate. This is for my iPad. I also have it on my phone. When I went to the App Store on my iPad, it doesn't show it's available. It's only on the phone that I see the app in the store. Is the app no longer available for iPad?
