  • Works great but... 4/5

    By dstarder
Works very well. Stable. Useful. Would like to see support for .XLS files. I get them sent to me through an automated work report and can never open them...which part of my job is auditing these reports for discrepancy.

  • Great app, but...... 3/5

    By TheReeds
Google Drive desperately needs to be added to the ‘Add a Place menu. Is there some reason it hasn’t been added already?
  • Lost work 1/5

    By LKGabranth
The app updated and now all of my auto saved work is gone. It is December 11th and i lost all the work from November 20th onward. I lost Weeks of work for my classroom. I would give 0 stars this is absurd. Don’t run an update unless you can GUARANTEE people wont lose work.
  • Files saved in iCloud cannot be opened from recent/pinned files 1/5

    By the0nly0ne
I save all of my documents in iCloud. I use my same documents across my iPhone, iPad, and Macs, and forever until now they have worked flawlessly. I even have a few files pinned to the top for easy access. However, for at least a week now, on all the above devices (yes including Mac) when I try to open any files from iCloud on recent items or pinned items, like I always have, it says they’re stored in an unsupported location. I have to remove the item from recent items and manually navigate into iCloud and through the folders to open it from there every single time. This is a frustrating issue that wastes my time and the time of others since data I am retrieving now takes significant more time.
  • DONT upgrade to 2.7 1/5

    By E.Scott.M
Don't upgrade to 2.7. You will no longer be able to save or edit without buying a 360 subscription. I have paid for a lot of copies of Microsoft office and despite that now that I upgraded to 2.7 on my iPad I can no longer save or edit my spreadsheets, unless I now start paying a monthly charge for office 360.
  • Almost great... 3/5

    By arielerosa
I love this app and use it on a daily basis. But, the auto save is always on when I open a file; this should be optional, not an always on function because, when I turn it off, it has already saved the file even if I do it instantly. Please fix this BIG issue. Also, where has the arrow keys gone?
  • Text prediction slows down workflow. 3/5

    By metal0130
The text prediction continues to bring up words that I've previously used in the sheet, and as the iPad processes the predictions it ignores any letter I'm currently typing, so I'm getting constant typos. Worse yet, there doesn't seem to be a way to turn the feature off. I'm forced to type really slow so as not to skip letters.

  • New Update Doesn’t Comply 1/5

    By ashnfarr
ISO update 11 keeps shutting me out of my Excel and OneNote whenever I have them pulled up. They are running super slow and not conducive to studying. Please fix this.
  • Didn’t they invent this program? 3/5

    By Devilsthrill
For some reason I can’t create a column or row with the ipad or iphone version. Really lame. Everything else is okay.
  • “Adding service” issues 3/5

    By jason34343434
Every time I switch away and come back it the app hangs, saying it is adding a service. I have to force quit and restart the app. That makes it far less productive than it could be.
  • No keyboard? 1/5

    By OhhhDave
Useless.... keyboard will not appear when trying to make entries / editing in a document sheet.

Start from few days ago, my document in two iPad been locked and couldn’t edited anymore. Press the resolve button, it claimed “the file is locked for editing by another user..” Even though both devices already sign out. I try to wait for couple days, let’s see does anyone have the same issue with this! Hopefully this is just the updated problem, they will fix it soon!

    By Rancher1189
When I first downloaded this app it worked great with no issues at all and still doesn’t but now since I upgraded the app I now have to pay a fee which is stupid for every month, I will pay a one time fee only if it’s forever or as long as I have the app, I don’t like pissing my money on something that I have already purchased
  • Poor Performance 3/5

Good features but performance is so bad that it is almost unusable.

  • Sharpest Tool in the Box 5/5

    By REITHNBACKER
When I began computing, memory was measured in K’s. I was able to procure Office Suite with Excel end it has proved to be very useful and ingenious over the years I've used it in many ways, it is my most important tool. I highly recommend it.
  • Synch 1/5

    By Parminder24
Does not Synch with the file on my one drive. When I get back to PC the changes do not reflect in the file and I have to save the pc file with another name to continue. Very bad Synch issues. Never faced this problem with google docs.

Every time I try to do something you’re asking me to rate you or showing me some useless feature. I can’t stress enough how annoying this is.
  • You will lose your work!!! Don’t buy 3/5

    By ABelieber
Bought the subscription to Office 365 because I wanted to use Microsoft Excel. First 2 projects I worked on went fine. My 3rd project was a huge one (a $800 fee for me). I worked on it for 6 hours when suddenly my work vanished ... disappeared right in front my eyes! I tried everything, but I could not get the document back. Came to the realization that while the “auto-save” feature was “on”, the app was not saving any of the work!! The Microsoft cloud had nothing! Made a quick research and found that this type of complaint has been posted by others going back to 2014!!! What??? IT HAS NOT BEEN FIXED??!! Clients have had the same 2 bad experiences (failure by the auto-save and the document disappearing) AND MICROSOFT HAS NOT ADDRESSED THIS ISSUE. So, despite buying the iPad Pro intending to use Excel, I now will have to buy a Window base laptop. Grrrrrrrrrr.
  • Excel was great once 1/5

    By Leo9183
I have always used Microsoft Office Professional since 2003, on more. I will not pay a monthly charge to use a program I have already paid for. I would have given zero stars if it was an option. Rick
  • Enjoying this App 5/5

    By DME_Ski
This App has been a consistently great experience for me to use. I haven’t yet come across the problems others have, however, I use it for basic things like inventories and logs, so I may not be using it to the extent others are. I also really appreciate reading the reviews that have complaints and see the developers’ responses to these important reviews. The developers are quick to make the fixes, almost every week it seems, and I think that makes not only for a great App but for wanting to stick with an App (and their company) because you’re getting awesome service. Thanks, again!!!
  • Yes Excel!!! Oh wait not really 2/5

    By scottgr66
The power of excel on the iPad Pro...Wait it’s no different than an iPad. If you use pivot tables....they are useless on the iPad. Drag and dropping into and out of the pivot tables doesn’t work. Quite disappointing!
  • Congrats! Finally restoring one feature 1/5

    By AppGrabbing101
[11/25/17] I can finally adjust column width with this update but still can’t save files to Dropbox. Still trying to block your competitors? [9/14/17] With this last update on 9/11/17, data or formulas in cells won't appear in the edit line any more. So I have no way to edit my Excel files. [8/22/17] A new problem: When I open Excel with a file last saved to Dropbox, the file becomes read-only and would not save any changes. I have to save a copy, or close and reopen it, which I don't know how. Another 4 updates later, all the problems I mentioned in previous reviews remain. [5/15/17] Four updates after the v.2.0 update, these problems are still there. I am giving the lowest rating to the update, not the app itself. Three more problems I didn't list in my last review: - I can no longer search for anything across worksheets, only in the same sheet. - Shortening the width of my columns and thus doubling up the height of some of my rows. - The update would automatically change colors of some of my cells and thus destroyed my meaningful color coding system. I believe the purpose of updates is to improve the functionality and usability of an app, not to regress it. The problems I listed before are functions lost since the v.2.0 update and have caused me tons of trouble and inconveniences. Microsoft, don't use us as your beta tester for free. I am referring to the millions of users suffering from the same problems I am experiencing. I have deleted the app and reinstalled every update hoping to see a correction. The size of the Excel app has decreased to 210 MB from 430. Is this the reason why some of its functions are now lost or removed intentionally? [4/11/17] V.2.0 update caused these problems - Bring up keyboard automatically when I tap on another tap/worksheet. Very inconvenient when I just want to browse through the taps of the same file like before. - AutoSave cannot be disabled. When I tried to save after turning off the AutoSave button, it won't allow me to save the file with the same name. Meaning I can't manually update the same file. I don't want AutoSave because AutoSave interrupts my workflow, and quite often freezes the app so I would lose all edits. - Changed width of column, thus increased height of rows. - I can no longer adjust the width of a column at the top by a few alphabets like before. [7/13/16] How I get around the v1.23 update's data entering problem I found that I could find a row somewhere in the same worksheet, or in another worksheet of the same file, that would take new data entry without the keyboard suggestion list showing up. Then I could type in my new contents into the cells, and copy and paste them into the row where I intended in the first place. I decided to share this get around that I found when I saw many users were using Excel to track their daily medication intakes. I didn't know peoples' lives could be related to Excel. MS, you should be ashamed of yourself! [Review 7/12/16] The v1.23 Excel update yesterday contains a huge bug that has stopped me from using Excel until the next update. What happens is that when you try to type any new content into a blank cell, the first letter or number you just type would bring up a list of items that start with the letter or number you type. But when you choose any of those, the cursor would drop to the cell right under and thus stopping you from entering anything new to your worksheet. I have to update my worksheet several times a day for my business, and now I can no longer continue. I actually worked with 6 Microsoft tech supports for more than 5 hours yesterday trying to solve this, but eventually they told me that they would report this for the developers to fix, but there is nothing they could do until the next update. What a bump!!! I regret having set my app updating to automatic, otherwise I might have avoided this disaster by finding this problem from AppStore reviews or other sources before updating my Excel app. [Review 06/16] The size of the Excel app on my iPad Air 2 has inflated to 3.2GB (2.7GB in Documents & Data) again since my last reinstall on 5/21/16. And I had to delete and reinstall the app to bring it back to 439MB with 2.7MB in Documents & Data, just to recover about 2.7 GB of storage space for my iPad. Then I loaded a 1.15MB file and saved it into OneDrive and Dropbox using replacing, not as a new file. This was also what I had been doing in the last 37 days - updating the same single file of 1.1MB and replacing/overwriting it several times a day. I also just found the first single time I saved the file by replacing had increased the size in Documents & Data from 2.7MB to 16.4MB. I am wondering if this is how it's supposed to be by design. If it is, it doesn't make any sense. Please fix this asap. I hate to give Excel only 1 star to get some attention, but 2.7 GB each is a lot for the tens of millions of iDevices out there around the world. Microsoft should take this seriously. [Last review] Excel would pretend to save automatically in the middle of my work, but actually does not save anything. What is worse is that when it save automatically, it actually deprive me of the chance to save my work because all the work I have done would disappear. I have to redo all the work that is lost. Fix this!!! [Last review] My Excel app size on my iPad Air 2 suddenly inflated to 3.2 GB, with Documents & Data size at 2.6 GB. When first installed, I believe it was only around 450 MB max, including the app size itself. I don't save anything local, all go to cloud storage like Dropbox and OneDrive. Even with that, I would normally overwrite instead of saving as a new file. The 2 files I saved is only 1.1 MB each. So I can't think of any reason why there would be suddenly 2.5 GB more storage on my iPad occupied in just a few days.

  • Excel is great! 5/5

I have used Excel since it’s early days both professionally and at home. I know there’s other products available and some of them are even free. I prefer a subscription to Office 365 instead.

I’m not sure why I’m unable to edit spreadsheets off line
  • Functional but continued sharing issues 3/5

    By TimSchuerger3
I have no problems with this app other than the fact the documents I’ve shared to people to Edit & View turned locked randomly for them and me (the owner of the worksheet). It’s continuously irritating. App Update Needed.
  • No edit on iPad mini wo signin?? 1/5

    By jo2jo
The description clearly says the core functions are free on iPhone and iPad, I’m simply trying to edit a few cells on my own spreadsheet I emailed myself. Apparently you need to sign up for a useless Microsoft account just to do that. No thanks- I don’t need another useless login and password/privacy policy floating around just for basic functionality of a single app. iOS mail already allows you to view spreadsheets, or even better , free google drive allows you to view and edit excel files (and a free Google Drive account actually provide some Real functionality, as opposed to a free Microsoft account which I’m sure is also crippled until you pay). I really think it’s pathetic that you can’t even edit your own spreadsheet without signing up for a bs Microsoft account (that’s another useless login + long password you have to keep track of, and be vigilant of next time there’s a credential dump / hack occurs), I have no need for a Microsoft account beyond using Excel on iOS, so I won’t be signing up and won’t be using this app. In all honesty I’m sure I have a few useless Microsoft accounts i was forced to signed up for over the years for other useless garbage I quit using after a few weeks. Either provide a functional app or don’t (or charge a onetime fee), I would be willing to pay five or $10 or even 20$ one time just for the added features, + would understand more advanced functionality might still require a monthly subscription. But not monthly fee for just the basics. Typical Microsoft deceptive ads and description along w greedy practices.
