Microsoft Outlook app reviews

  • Delete button and options 1/5

    By Swimsnoon
There are couple of features that have been under review from 2015! 1. Jump to next email after delete. 2. Place delete on the button bar. How hard is it to provide the above features? And seriously, you’ve them under review for more than 2 years! That’s a very long time. You expect people to go back and open a new email after each delete and expect to them to reach the top of the screen to delete an email!? I’ve contacted customer support to consider these features but they provided no support!! I hope MS team provides these at least in the next update.. otherwise, I’ve to find another alternative.

Outlook is one of the best email applications out there and why does it do Microsoft any other email out there
  • Doesn’t Work Effectively 1/5

Won’t load folders. Won’t send emails. Has issues connecting. It’s much easier to just use Google and Yahoo’s apps.

Thought I’d get a better email client. Think again. (1) you will not be able to connect the Apple default contacts app., in fact, there’s nothing much you can connect to in this app. It loses email. Deleting them right out for various actions you take. There is no waiting period if u accidentally delete a mail- it’s gone. (2) don’t save anything to draft folder. It will save & alter it right where u are, then put a copy of the header - that is unalterable - in the draft folder. You will not b able to change who the email is primarily addressed to, which will b you!! So insane. (3) I just pulled up the “give feedback “ form in the app, & somebody else’s review was in it. I know they weren’t using it as example- b/c it was entitled “Outlook Dogfood”. Wish I’d seen that b4 I lost 2 important email today. Advised them this was a privacy issue- but... (4) if u get this app, suddenly, u will drown in user-tailored spam. I got maybe 5 a day b4 switching, now like 60-70. Not a coincidence. (5) don’t expect to b able to attach anything easily - nothing u want to attach anyw. There are no options for file programs to download... the list goes on and on.

The Outlook IPhone ap takes some getting used to but it just takes time and there is support help if needed. Change is supposed to be good right? I always adjust 😊
  • Flat out beats iPhone mail/cal apps 5/5

    By eagles@76
Wish I'd given this app a shot a long time ago. It is so much smoother to use than the separate mail and calendar apps that come with iPhones. Love that I can hit mail/calendar/attachments/contacts all within a single app. Also like the option for Touch ID access, plus the ability to choose my choice of browser to open links and map app in the settings.

  • Super easy to manage my emails. 5/5

    By Ddzion
Super easy to manage my emails. Focused invox is great!
  • Good Mail app but needs full-screen month view 4/5

    By Bridge Bidder
This is a reliable mail app for both my Outlook and Gmail accounts, but the calendar function is fairly useless. This has been mentioned by other reviewers; the calendar needs a full-screen month view, showing the titles of the events for that month, similar to the functionality in Google Calendar, and then allowing the user to click on any given day to edit or add a new event. In the latest release, I also noticed a new bug; the button for “Go back to Inbox” does not function. This used to work. Update 12/12/17: the “Go back to Inbox” is fixed. Thanks much. Still needs a “Month” view for calendar; otherwise, calendar is mostly useless. If ever implemented, also need split screen to display both the email and month-view calendar.
  • Horrible Face ID implementation 3/5

    By Texan in the snow
Be careful using Face ID if Outlook Face ID fails doesn't allow you to enter your pin.

  • Want to but can’t ... 3/5

... commit to switching to the iOS Outlook app for good. As far as it goes, it’s a great concept and I love the layout, the speed and ease of integration of other services, calendars and third-party service providers. Three major issues ruin the experience, however: (1) Why don’t emails load completely? I hate having to press the “read more” button, only to find myself back up at the beginning of the message. (2) For many emails, the font is simply too little. Seriously. The native iOS mail app _always_ provides an experience with great legibility, why doesn’t Outlook? Plus, when switching to landscape mode it doesn’t make use of the full screen (huge bezels) so that doesn’t fix the problem either. (3) I wish it’d integrate iOS contacts into its system.
  • OK, Just OK 3/5

    By Midfield Thoughts
Convenient to have email and calendar in same app, but contacts recently disappeared. Other issues include inability to copy/paste, very small window to write emails, the window to write emails is made smaller by the attachment and photo icons... and more. Other reviews provide more details. It’s good to see the continual updates, but few (any?) have improved the interface. Disappointing...
  • Can’t use app 1/5

    By rojorojo
because Outlook calendar won’t sync up to my computer. Be very careful using this app as Outlook’s incompatibility with your computer can cause a huge headache – i.e., having to call all the people you’ve made appointments with to ask when those appointments are happening because the are not showing up on your computer. Have to admit that Outlook’s sync between phone and computer works well for email.

  • Very functional 5/5

I enjoy this app it’s very functional for what I have todo
  • Nice, but needs better attachment options.. 3/5

    By sparkinman
App works great with exchange, just severely limited to locations it can attach a file from. Outlook doesn’t support local device storage, or google drive unless you want it to check your gmail in the app...big deal breakers! It should have access to the same storage locations as the rest of the iOS apps...please fix this!
  • So good in some areas and 1990 in others. 2/5

    By NebraskaJer
Hello, I love the outlook app and I need to use it on a day to day basis. Some of the items like calendar events and sending notifications is great in parts but lack in editing. First off. Why is there no copy and paste in Outlook. I had a whole email typed up and I needed to input a link. So what would I have to do? Copy and paste it in. Nope. I have to go to safari and click share and then outlook so I can send a link in outlook. Well then when I get in outlook I have to retype my message or just paste in the other one right. Nope. Paste does not work from previous to new message. So I have to manually copy something by hand. Link or original message. Come on Microsoft. Make copy and paste work the. You get a solid 4. Add some polish and sub folder notifications and some editing tools you will have a 5 Star app again. Please fix these little flaws. You have office and should be able to make a solid app. Now let’s make it happen. Thanks.

Hands down my fav email app of all time. Super feature rich while very easy to use. But.. but... Skype has dark mode and it looks absolutely amazing on my iPhone X! If outlook has dark mode... OMG.
  • HTML Signatures 2/5

    By andres.cardenas7
6 Months ago I was told by customer service that the html signatures support for this app are being tested. How long should it take Microsoft to add a simple feature? Or was it simply another customer service excuse?... Which is why even tho the app is great but for poor customer service
  • Crashes with copy/paste 1/5

    By refoerster
After the last update, this app crashes on iPhone 7 with latest iOS when copy/paste is used from Apple Notes. 12/11/17 (Did not occur on previous editions of Outlook App.)
  • Number unread 4/5

    By BarneyAhern
Great app. My only complaint is the red bubble sitting on top of the Outlook icon. I assume it is the number of unread messages. It is rarely accurate. I have an iPhone SE with IOS version 11.1.2. It might read 52 and I have 12 emails unread. I even Filter on Unread only and get no emails, but come out to the icon and it reads 32. I have the latest Outlook update.

Search doesn’t work as well as before, email chains don’t load. My email is sorted by folders and it won’t load what emails are in the folders. Please fix it or change it back. It worked fine before 😞😞
  • What happened? 1/5

    By Austin doe
It was working great and I rely heavily on this app for school. But as of a few days ago it will not show me my emails. It sends me a notification saying I have one and then I open the app and it’s not there.
  • No search feature 2/5

    By Buckshot_V
I was excited about being able to use Outlook across platforms because I love Outlook so much on my desktop. However after realizing I did not get sub folder notification and there was no search feature I have not even bothered installing it on my new iPhone. I’m back to using iOS mail, calendar and reminders. iOS calendar seems to be syncing up to my Outlook calendar just fine because my outlook calendar syncs to my outlook account and I have both my work calendar and an Outlook email and put everything there. Anyway, long story short, love Outlook, love iOS 11. Just don’t need the app on my phone because I sync up with Outlook online and I need all notifications for incoming mail and HAVE to be able to search emails.

  • Not merging with online outlook 2/5

    By Vnagrecha
With the emergence of cloud based accounts, I so wish that Microsoft would make it painless to log into similar apps that have already been set up. For instance I'm running an online version of outlook for the web. If I download the iOS app, I should merely be able to log into my premium account to find all my email accounts configured and ready as they are on the web / desktop etc and sync with each other to have the exact copies where ever desired. This would be the ultimate in my opinion rather than having to painfully configure each app to all email accounts. Not useful in its current iteration. Giving it a pass.
  • Best productivity app! 5/5

    By Ashguru
Microsoft finally got this one right by integrating email, calendar, contacts and now even files from cloud drives all in one app! This is fast becoming a super app if it isn’t one already. Love not having to flip through multiple apps. I hope Microsoft continue to integrate more features into this app. Hoping that they will merge their new to-do app into outlook as well and add a reminder feature as well as allow Cortana access to it. Then it’ll really become a big app!
