Microsoft Outlook - email and calendar app reviews

  • Best Email App I've Used 5/5

    By MikeyShoes
This email app is incredible. Highly recommend. Calendaring functionality is probably the best part, and overall I'm glad I made the switch.
  • Truly a great app! 4/5

    By Candee Andee
It does what it should! There are only a few times where I don't get notified of a new message. Other than that I haven't encountered another issue.
  • Okay 3/5

    By Chris Grella
Can't set appointments "Out of Office"; no Tasks – I thought this was Outlook??
  • Once was a great app 1/5

    By BMountain
This once was a great app. One of the last updates made it unusable. Constantly locks up and or crashes. I've uninstalled and reinstalled a half dozen times. Hopefully this gets fixed
  • Works fine 3/5

Does everything you would expect. No issues.

  • Works awesome for work. 5/5

The calendar system has been great. I used to use Sunrise, and they got bought by these guys. Now I use these guys. Interacts really well with the email.
  • One step forward and three steps back.... 1/5

    By drkemp1
My last review was 4 ⭐️ because I thought Microsoft had finally turned the corner and adopted many of the great features from Sunrise calendar. The last few updates were encouraging but the latest release is very unstable. The 'add-on' features (included Evernote) were taken away for the iPad for some inexplicable reason. When is the 'add-on' feature going to return for the iPad.
  • Excellent! 5/5

    By RDHtheFIRST
Are use it every day anywhere and everywhere
  • Too many bugs 2/5

    By eleven100miles
Becomes unresponsive too often, when you move items to the deleted folders and then try to delete them immediately after, they sometimes reappear (office 365 user). Things that I have submitted as bugs for a year still exist.
  • Can't open PDF's 3/5

    By Longtime google play user
Tried this app out but unfortunately it's not really business's friendly. When I try to open pdf's it says "it doesn't support This type of file" tech support tried to say it way my email account. Weird, every other email app I've tried opens the same PDF attachment... let me know when his bug is fixed and I'll try it again.
  • Works very very well 5/5

    By TomOwen
    Very intuitive
  • Staying organized 2/5

    By Dekan2103
Outlook is the email application that all my business and school emails go through. I hate filtering though emails to look for stuff. There really needs to be an edit function to select multiple emails and then delete, move to a folder, flag as important, or archive. If just one of the options was added I want the select multiple emails and delete function. Great application other than this but over time not having this function takes a lot of my time, sifting through emails I don't have time to delete individually, trying to find what I need. Please add this function because this would be 4 or 5 rating, if you had it.
  • Helps to resolve clutter 4/5

    By ajagarla_99
I like the concept of integration and just having two categories of messages . Really useful for me while trying to maintain different accounts regularly
  • IPhone 6s Plus 3D select 4/5

    By Stop-robo-call
I noticed when selecting 3D (press on LH side off screen) that the email selections are activated most of the time, see screen shot.

  • Prefer this to Gmail iOS app 5/5

    By somedude4561
After much frustration with the Gmail iOS app, I am really happy with Outlook, which I thought I would never, ever say. Outlook's focused inbox is a killer app feature. I can see important emails at a glance and quickly tune what's "important" or not. Search works even when you're offline, which Gmail iOS can't do. The one thing I miss from gmail iOS is the ability to apply multiple labels to an email. Labeling is more like moving mails to folders. Most of my labels are applied by server-side filtering rules, so only a fraction of my emails need to manually labelled. For those, I just wait until I'm back at my desktop. I use Gmail Multiple Inboxes on my desktop and while it is immensely useful, it is much more fiddley than focused inbox. In fact, I wish there was a way to view Outlook's focused inbox on my desktop. (Unfortunately, I have used Outlook's web app and it is downright awful.) I tried Google Inbox both on mobile and desktop and ran screaming. If you've been dissatisfied with Gmail iOS or the native iOS mail app, give this a try. Even if you think Outlook is normally terrible, this app will make you reconsider.
  • Sync Bug is Annoying 4/5

    By moirty
I really want this app to be my only email and calendaring app. It gets closer all the time. Search is still inconsistent and contacts are not handled thoroughly. Would like to see options for multiple timezones and to control font size. Otherwise, it's a promising app that aligns well with the desktop and O365 apps.
  • Almost useless 1/5

    By ralgmail
There are many things I like about this app, however, it is crippled and rendered virtually useless by the fact I cannot add, edit or delete contacts. The only way to modify Outlook is to make the change in the native address book on one's iPhone, and then delete and reinstall Outlook. The same applies if you have Outlook on your Mac. Changes made on your computer to "people" will not be reflected in the iOS app until you delete the app and reinstall it. Yikes.
  • App doesn't open 1/5

    By HoustonMidtown
App crashes every time it attempts to start - unusable now
  • Best mail app! 5/5

    By esctrbl
Occasional bugs here and there but overall, the functionality and simplicity of this app is the best!
  • Bad update 1/5

    By Jcohee4738
2/25/17: Issue(s) still exist cannot stay logged into Office 365 Accounts. Twice a day it prompts me for my password. I've tried all other Email apps & I can't find one as good as this one for my personal emails. 1/14/17: Customer service has been great! Downside - if you use an Office365 email from godaddy, you may have issues. I am prompted 3 times daily for my password. I've double checked all the settings and all is fine but I still continue to have issues. Support has not been able to fix the issue yet. As others have mentioned, I cannot find another Email app that works like this one. That is the only reason I haven't given up on Outlook yet. 6/1/16: Outstanding customer service! Sent an Email at 12:45 am and receive a response at 12:55. The spam Email issue is a known issue and they are working on it. 5/31/16: Since the iOS update took effect, I've had nothing but spam on iOS Outlook. When I log on with my computer, all the spam emails are in the spam folder. Not sure what's going on....please fix. Update 8/18/15: I keep getting an error about a draft could not be sent and I do not have any drafts to be sent. How do I fix this? ----- Update 7/22/15 After most recent update, this app has issues. The notifications no longer work, and notification settings are the same as before, and the retrieval of emails are slow. Not impressed again with this app. Update 4/30/15 After update, app Will not open. Just the Circle that keeps going round and round I love this app. I have been able to sync my iCloud calendars and all my Email Accounts without trouble. I noticed it isn't a battery eater like the iPhone mail program is, which is really nice.
  • Great Mail App 5/5

    By 哈莉菠蔡
Since I live in mainland China, I'm always looking for a app that can support Gmail without VPN. Outlook for iOS is great! And with focus feature, I can always focus on my work and not to worry missing the important mails!
  • Really fantastic alternative to stock IOS Apps 5/5

    By hobson1975
    Love it!
  • Just stopped working 1/5

    By Momma bear Jessie
Was pretty good then just stopped working!
  • Does not support IMAP aliases 2/5

By Clear view to the west
Missing a rather basic feature that means I can't send from my mailbox where I forward mail from another server. First mail app where I've ever encountered this oversight. Documentation was misleading and time wasting. Online support sounded promising but actually told me that they couldn't address the wrong docs because they had no access.
  • The best email client for iPhone. 5/5

  • Basic but helpful 2/5

    By Edanlo
This is a very basic app but helpful
  • Great App beats gmail hands down 5/5

    By Joel Sapp
Love the app so much so that I have stopped using gmail for work emails. This works great! Would like to see ability to set notifications during certain hours and days of week.
  • No selective sync 1/5

    By KnowNaMe
This app lacks feature that iOS' built in mail client even give you.
  • Not like Windows 10 mobile 1/5

    By ST1100biker
Nice consolidation of apps but... No second alert ??? No notes field ???
  • Calendar? 4/5

    By Shifty Sha-wahn
Needs a monthly view of the calendar!! Annoying if not borderline useless for longer term planning & scheduling without it.
  • Almost as good as the pc version 4/5

    By dseale55
There are a few things you can not do that the full blown version can. But it's great for being able to keep on top of mail. If I have to drag out a pc then I grudgingly will.
  • Great job on a mobile version 4/5

    By Magic guitar is amazing
Love being able to have my office tools at my fingertips! It is very reassuring knowing how well this app connects to all of my bookings for trips, meetings, calendar, mail, PDF files, word docs.... even map needs. Great work! Hopefully this continues to be developed and grows with the available ongoing tech.
  • Great email client, almost perfect... 5/5

    By StatikKling
Got an eml attachment from the desktop version of Outlook? Too bad, you can't view it. This is the most frustrating part of this email client. [Update] Eml files are now fully supported! Huzzah! Best exchange client I have found.
  • App 5/5

    By Marcostellez1
    Sweet app!
  • App Support NOT HELPFUL 1/5

    By cls29708
I had the app and used it for quite a while with no issues. Apple Support had me perform a restore on my iPhone (unrelated issue) and when I reloaded Outlook I did not have all of the functionality that I did before. I contacted Support over and over, and they basically told me that couldn't fix it, and were closing my issue. Hopefully a future update will correct my issue. Given how unbelievably unprofessional that was, I am no longer a user of the app. If it is working for you great, but I sincerely hope you never need to contact their support team.
  • Great little app 5/5

    By wacko413
Been using it for a year. I prefer it over apple's email app.
  • Excellent with one qualifier 5/5

    By Harry LT
Love the application, but seems excessively slow in opening.
  • Need to login every time I open it 3/5

    By jimmymac1
I have two accounts and use the app a lot.For some reason every time I open the app I get an error message and need to log into just one account. Multiple support emails and deleting and readding accounts and still ongoing. Multiple new versions of the app. I don't understand.
  • Horrible 1/5

    By Rabrya3
I lose emails... I haven't figured out how to stop the automatic grouping of emails. It's hard when there are multiple emails, to figure out where to read the email that isn't the latest. I just want to use my phones email client at this point.
  • Push notifications not working anymore? 1/5

    By Mcholera
I don't know what happened but is this app not push enabled anymore? I have stopped receiving pushed notifications for the past week. As soon as I open the app all my emails come flooding in with the respective notification banners. Can someone please address this?
  • No GMail Labels :( 3/5

    By (o)v(o)
Very good email app, but I really miss Gmail labels.
  • Freezes you out email account 1/5

    By KB0SIS
I used this for about a year with 5 different email accounts. On occasion for no reason it cannot login into one of the email accounts. No problem - fix it later and move on to other email accounts right? WRONG! You cannot move in to reading other email. You have to delete the locked up account. You are frozen on a login or delete screen. This makes this email client unpleasant for multiple email accounts.
  • Yup, it works 3/5

    By NYWhits
The app works as it should. Biggest complaint is that it continuously states that there is an update every time I use it. I update and it still says it but none are available. I reboot and still it says updates are available. As all MS products ... what choice do I have. I ignore the issues and make do.
  • Login problems 2/5

    By iaswingkid
One of my email accounts sometimes has login problems. Provider hasn't fixed it yet When it has an issue, this app forces me to delete the account in order to read email from my other accounts. Then I have to re enter all the information later. That is ridiculous!
  • Faulty and oddly organized 2/5

    By nnmendoz
Poor spam filter, oddly organized, keep getting error message as soon as I log into app.
