Microsoft Outlook - email and calendar app reviews

  • Updated, now slow 2/5

    By General Woo
After this last update, the app is slow and buggy, won't load inbox
  • Email couldn't be shown in app 1/5

    By Benjamin.Wang
Email can be received but cannot be shown. Same email content can show in Gmail app.
  • Helped me through it!!! 4/5

    By Plumber@KCMO
I created a problem for myself I couldn't fix. I turned to the support team to help me fix it. They were very patient with me and stayed there with till I got it right. I could never thank them enough for the happiness they provided me. The support team members you guys really rock; Thanks again...
  • Poor app with each update 2/5

    By Mempho.
Support is poor and have left this app to go back to Apple IOS email. Don't recommend it as you will be disappointed
  • Love Outlook 5/5

    By Samcjohnson24
Everything is great about this app. One thing I'd love to see added though is this ability to hide an email I'm composing (like in the native iOS mail app) so that I can open my calendar or any other aspect of the app and then come back to that email.
  • Updates and Crashing 1/5

    By Zander92109
Just updated the app and now cannot open emails without the app crashing. I agree with a number of other users the updates have made the Outlook app less useful and cumbersome. Hopefully, MS will change the folder structure as the new folder layout is awful!
  • Notifications are all messed up all of a sudden 1/5

    By Hi_Im_Emma
I tried everything, the notifications disappear before I get to see them. This is the only app where this happens, and the team doesn't know how to fix it.
  • A fix! But app still sinking 1/5

    By drjwr
The August 16 update provided a work-around for the inane (July) decision for cutesie-graphics wirh circles that prevented distinguishing one account for another. Thanks to the developer for the fix. Other ugly problems, however, remain from the July update: (1) The folders, and sub-folders, which are necessary for work and often are the first feature accessed, are still buried by a shelf menu and require cumbersome steps to unearth. As with Outlook, and Outlook.com, the folders need to be openly visible. And, (2) to add my voice to others, why hide "reply / reply all / forward" beneath a dot menu, adding an extra step, while openly giving "add message" (i.e., "reply all"), as though this were some half-baked social app rather than a sleekly designed work tool? It's been a slow downward spiral since Microsoft originally bought Acompli, which was an enterprise-oriented mail handler, and MS integrated it seamlessly with its document services. It was the zenith for this app. This current mail downturn matches the disastrous calendar, which lacks a full event monthly view, a need requested by almost 9,000 users of this app, to say nothing of the thousands who have not taken the time to make a request. For a monthly view, Microsoft gives us a multi-stepped and useless agenda/dot-calendar that prevents a quick intuitive grasp of meetings and their patterns over a month. This calendar fail has remained long after Microsoft bought Sunrise. The let's-have-slick-graphics crowd that works on this app -- for one update the "big" calendar improvement was ridiculous graphics for various appointments (wow) -- lacks a simple-to-use enterprise vision and the app slowly spirals downward.
  • Prefer old Interface - reply arrows 1/5

    By Sirwolfman
I prefer the old method interface when it comes to Reply, Reply-to-All, and Forward. Much more effecient then the current interface. Shouldn't take multiple steps to simply forward an email. As a result, I went back to the native iOS email client. It's a shame, as up until then I preferred the Outlook client for my work email. Last update is better - but still need ALL reply options listed - not just a reply-to-all arrow. Stop teasing us and just return back to the old interface! 8/16 - Another update. And still - they haven't returned to the old, efficient interface for reply, reply all, and forward. 😡
  • Clean, efficient and fun 4/5

    By Seanpaulcurran
It's aligned quality with apples iCloud mail. I use this app to check on mail and stay up do date on my inbox. It's easy to use and is just like the desktop experience. I recommend this download. Only critique: I wish it were easier to mass junk and delegate future junk emails
  • notifications have gone crazy 3/5

    By bellastagiona
After last week's update, Outlook has begun notifying me of *all* unread emails every time a new email arrives, as though they'd all just arrived right now. REALLY ANNOYING. I've had to turn off the notification sound because of the constant ling strings of notification chimes. PLEASE FIX THIS.
  • Crashing 1/5

    By Mrgluedude
Updated and restarted IOS and keeps crashing
  • App keeps crashing 1/5

    By Silyo
    Looking so far is great!
  • DON'T INSTALL!!!! 1/5

    By McMillan Family
This updates does not work and freezes up. My outlook is 100% useless right now!
  • Not improving 1/5

    By jdwrds
Beware of the deadly default to "reply all." Needs to allow threaded messages to collapse again. Without that, it's no better than iOS Mail.
  • New update. 2/5

    By MayGen Cole
I love this app because it allows my school's emails to come through and I can connect my other email addresses to it, but after the new update, it will not update. It says it cannot be updated at this time after it seems to finish updating ! Very confusing but I need this app updated. Please fix!
  • Way to slow and buggy now 1/5

    By Marcyprojecx
It used to be a great app. Simple and got the job done but after recent updates emails don't load, sending an email is a nightmare and can take forever, the app itself is slow to upload. It's just not good anymore. I've deleted and reinstalled multiple times and it's the same. Disappointing.
  • Yep 1/5

    By advarhagnj
NOW 4 or5 updates later and the app...STILL is counterintuitive and inefficient. Apple is the choice until MSFT gets its Shiz together. Fo shizzle.
  • Can't sign into work email 1/5

    By SemperPhoenix
Can't sign into work email anymore!
  • Frustrated 1/5

    By lilac1125
Outlook exchange calendar is no longer syncing with and updating iOS calendar. When I open Outlook exchange app my emails continually reload and previously deleted emails reappear in my inbox. Did not experience these issues before the last two updates. Very frustrated.
  • I'm not a robot but I can now work like a machine 5/5

    By Sincere patron
Has really made me efficient and able to function like I'm at my office desk - but from wherever I am. Clean and intuitive - Microsoft is upping their game !
  • Awful 1/5

    By Red Grange
Does not sync to Exchange networks and calendars do not work like Outlook in a PC (cannot see other calendars). Login is always a nightmare and half of the time does not work. A MUCH better solution with full functionality is Microsoft OWA. A million times better than Outlook for iOS. Waste of time messing with this bugfest.
  • We need a spam and phishing report 2/5

    By guiaubep

  • Last update broke something 1/5

    By peanut044
I am no longer able to connect to my work email which is running on-premise Exchange 2013. My co-worker updated last night and she now faces the same issue. Please fix!
  • Great app 5/5

    By JohnKoman
    Works great.
  • Not quite there yet. 3/5

    By Jaggersville
If you use Outlook for work, you'll probably like this app, but it will leave you dissatisfied. It's not clear to me yet, for example, that I can edit contacts using this app. Maybe I can, but the process for doing so is far from intuitive. In other words, I haven't figured that out yet, and there is not much help available. Also, accidentally swiping an email in the wrong direction sends it to an archive. If you haven't set the archive up on your app, it will take you a long time to find out where you accidentally sent that email. If it is an important email that you need, you will be in panic mode for a while. Little details like this need some attention.
  • Crashes 1/5

    By Elliepantz62
Updated recently. Each time it opens, some pop up explaining the action will take a while and no new email will arrive. I have to select cancel to use the app.
  • Coolab 5/5

    By Bradoosti
    V8 cool app
  • Make the change! 5/5

    By Roscoe P Rat
    They just threw a ringer!
  • Excellent: easy to use, great functionality 4/5

    By TVNO
Supports multiple cloud based drives in addition to email. Every iteration improves on this already excellent app. Junk mail filters could be improved.
  • Crashing constantly 1/5

    By S Lareau
Crashes constantly: update now it crashes so quickly that I can't reply to support! Very frustrating!
  • Missing 2/5

    By where are features
UseOutlook because we use in tune. Really prefer the OWA app, because it is more functional with more features It's amazing that the enterprise client is feature lacking
  • Outlook for iOS 5/5

    By JD541
Wonderful app. Would love force-touch interaction.
  • ALMOST what I need. 3/5

    By Ruaceann
Loving how this pulls together all of my email accounts and my google calendar. Also love the way I can schedule and email. What is MISSING, though, is the ability to schedule these emails and actually have them show up in a time slot on your calendar. Can someone PLEASE come up with a way for me to say, schedule a follow up on an email for 2pm on Friday? Doesn't seem like it should be such a reach to ask for that. Is it possible I just haven't figured it out yet?
  • Broken 1/5

    By NoWork NoEat
As others mentioned, last update made app unusable. Constantly loads and deletes and reloads all messages across all mailboxes on all accounts (Microsoft Exchange & AOL account). I guess now it truly brings the Windows experience to iPad. You would think someone would test the updates before they roll out?
  • Awful update!!! 1/5

    By Prnsskt
Making this almost unusable. Same email flashes over and over and over. Bring back old version that worked!
  • Latest update is a disaster 1/5

    By aria3d
The latest update is a disaster. It constantly tries to sync the messages. At times I get endless iOS notifications, repeated for the few emails I have received sometimes a day ago. I had to turn off the notification from outlook. This used to be a well behaved app. I had worked with the dev team to resolve an issue. That was a pleasant experience as well. Not sure what happened with this release. I am checking the App Store updates a few things mea a day now. Please fix this
  • Best email service ever! 5/5

    By Parents that worry
I have been hacked all of my other email accounts except for this one! Great Job MSN!
  • Instant real time updates 5/5

    By jbheer
I have seen the only email provider which gets mail in instantaneously
  • Last update - refreshes and reloads messages constantly 1/5

    By BryonBNM2
You should wait for next update. This one is deleting and re downloading messages over and over.
  • Meh 3/5

    By mrmattwebb
    It is what it is.
  • Latest major update huge disappointment 1/5

    By NYG Big Fan
    Big step backwards in usability.
  • Endless Notifications 1/5

    By WICKED SICKK
I had to turn the notifications off in my phone. I would continuously get notifications even after I deleted the email. I thought it just my phone until my husband said the exact same thing happened to him.
  • Can't log in!! 1/5

    By Canuckinoz
Keeps prompting to enter log in credentials then comes back with incorrect password. This happened after last update!! Please fix!!!😡
  • Latest version is terrible - delete and return to Apple mail app 1/5

    By JMH II
The latest update to the Outlook app has made it unusable on my phone or iPad. I'm giving it a couple more days then deleting the Outlook app and going back to Apple mail. This is very disappointing.
  • So much better than Airmail with Outlook.com 4/5

    By KitsuneRed
I bought Airmail when Gmail was my main email provider but do to massive amounts of spam getting through Gmails spam filter, I switched to Outlook.com. Airmail delays notifications where as the official outlook app gives me instantaneous notifications. I do wish we could have a widget that displays current messages in our inbox like airmail and the android version of outlook
