This app is the most useful tool for the students to have their projects on the go, in case you would like to make any adjustments to your presentation. It almost feels like your in the computer making the PowerPoint slideshows.
  • DOES NOT SAVE! 1/5

    By Gbubughjj
I had written a 12 slide project due the following day. I then tried to save the powerpoint and it would not save, the inly way it was eligable to save was if I upgraded to office 360. This was a very bad time woth PowerPoint, and I do not reccomend using it without the intention to download the upgrade pf Office 360. I am very dissapointed, and now have to start my whole project over again one Google Presentation, which I HIGHLY reccomend over this Microsoft App. I was very dissapointed in the way the problem was solved, because I had to rewrite the whole project over again. I chose the PowerPoint app because it offered a varietal theme selection, that was more preffered over Google's... yet Google SAVES YOUR WORK! So, I decided to stick with Google Presentations. This was a awful experience and I will never use Microsoft PowerPoint again.

Previously, opening/editing a presentation from OneNote into the PPT app would save changes back in OneNote. After this update, the PPT app no longer saves changes to OneNote! Very frustrating as I essentially cannot take notes anymore! This applies to version 2.0 through 2.0.3 (newest version) of PPT.
  • DROPBOX PROBLEMS AND CRASHES EVERYDAY 1/5

    By Awj30
    1. Using this app through dropbox has become almost impossible. Files take forever to load and wont load a significant amount of the time. Please fix this soon! 2. When using the presentation mode to take notes using the Apple Pencil, there is no differentiation between your finger and the pencil once the pencil has been used. This makes flipping slides very inconvenient. 3. Downloading files from Dropbox now takes far longer than before. 4. It CRASHES at least 5 times a day. You're better than this Microsoft.
  • Terrible 2/5

    By R0iB0i
Good to use sometimes but I will definitely not pay a subscription for some services. Especially to save my projects. I'll use WPS instead now. Microsoft has gone down hill.
  • Can't open file because it's too large 1/5

    By huster411
Can't open any files anymore because they are all too large to open. What gives? These files were opening fine a few weeks ago. Absolutely destroys the use of app now, can't get anything done as a medical student because our slides are regularly >50mb. Ridiculous.

This app is to trash . It gave me so many problems. It always have a problem connection to wifi, and there's always a problem need to be fixed when I have to log in. I shouldn't have to Re log back in every time I get on this app.

Great app. Takes some getting used to but it's well worth the patience. Plus you don't really have to lug your laptop around for PowerPoint.
  • If it ain't broke don't fix it, still not fixed after update WTH!! 1/5

    By Adamalb09
As a med student who heavily utilizes PowerPoint to review lectures and take notes, I've been satisfied with the app over the past 6 months with my iPad Pro and Apple Pencil. The compatibility with iCloud made it easy to access my lectures across all my devices. However, Microsoft needs to keep things simple and stop trying to improve things that don't need to be improved! After the April update I had to delete and re download the app multiple times as certain presentations were failing to open. Also, for whatever reason, when in presentation mode (how I primarily take notes) the eraser doesn't work anymore. I have to continuously exit presentation mode to erase. Another annoying thing is that sometimes the app freezes and the app doesn't allow me to escape from presentation mode and wont respond to anything but a force quit. Another issue I absolutely hate the new interface for "notes". In previous versions, the notes icon would remain grey if there were no notes typed and be red if notes were present. This was helpful when reviewing lectures initially to see if the professor had added extra notes in addition to the slide. Now every slide has a red notes icon weather there are notes written or not! You can only imagine the anxiety all of these bugs give me especially when trying to get everything down from my hasty professors flying through material. I love this app but please Microsoft fix these issues so I can fix this review. If not I may need to revert to a third party note taking app.

The last two updates have been horrible. 1.) pushing enter while typing causes the text box to close out 2.) Occasionally when typing a character the first character works fine, but after pushing the first letter the text box closes out The only fix seems to be completely shutting down and restarting the program This is a multi-million dollar company how do you not test this 1000 times before releasing it. I think I’ll go use some starter app that might be a little more simple, but actually works

Very good app that works very good with iPad Pro. I like using Apple Pencil and it is very responsive. The only downside I notice so far is that you cannot split view tow PowerPoint files. I don't why, but I would recommend that they solve this issue.

  • Excellent app, needs some work 4/5

This version of PowerPoint is excellent, but needs some more work: - Virtual trackpad does not work well in text boxes - Need to be able to select multiple slides and copy them into another presentation - Allow for corporate slide templates - Large slide sorter view
  • New update ruined this app 3/5

After the most recent update my app has been crashing, freezing, and does not allow any text editing. This is very inconvenient when talking notes during lectures. Google drive slides has been a great alternative though

I figured out what was wrong, I was suspended untill I made a Microsoft account. Next time they should REALLY tell me that, instead of me panicking worried on why it's not typing. Good app got till Friday to finish and I am, thx.
  • Bad Update 1/5

    By Blitzsniffle
This update seriously compromised annotating during a slideshow with pencil. There is a noticeable lag while writing. Furthermore, when you annotate with the pencil, the presentation switches mode so that you can't change slides with your finger unless you change it back. Update for v2.0.2: Neither concern was really addressed going from v2.0 to v2.0.2.
  • Thanks for your response, but the latest update didn't solve the problems. 1/5

April 18 update: App keeps crashing. Stays in finger mode. Can't advance slides without exiting the finger mode. The semi-transparent ribbon never goes away.

It worked great! Until I had to export it. It said that it was too large to export. And that it can't go over 20mb. Which is only like 8 slides. Unacceptable
  • Overnight--Powerpoint app no longer works 1/5

    By AHTeacher
On Monday I used my Powerpoint app on the iPad just fine. On Tuesday, it wouldn't load any of my Powerpoints from Dropbox. I got an error message that the files were too large. These were the SAME files I had uploaded the day before. I pay 6.99 a month and now this service is useless. I have tried everything including sign out, delete the app, refresh the app etc. This disaster happened just before I was about to give a lecture for my college class. What is wrong? Has anyone experienced this?
  • Please fix the update 1/5

It has become unbearable incompatible with the Apple Pencil. It was perfect Before. It is especially frustrating when you pay for your services and deliver a dismal, untested update. Shame.

    By DAN MAN 101
Please bring back the ability in presentation view where only when you draw with the pencil does it annotate and when you use your finger it doesn't. It's annoying now, constantly having to touch the button to turn it off when i want to use my finger to switch between slides after having just used the pencil

I like the fact that my full PC Power Point presentations with all the animations, bells, and whistles will function in the iPad version. This is great when interviewing or having discussions with potential customers.
  • DO NOT UPGRADE TO 2.0 1/5

    By Jesophagus
2.0 update is super buggy; Apple Pencil only works half the time and the battery drains much faster. PPT often fails to import files from Dropbox.
  • Unusable 1/5

    By penis lol
As usual, Microsoft cannot manage accounts properly, and as the new update came in, it logged me out, which is normal, but I can't log back in, and if I create a new account, it tells me my password is incorrect no matter what. If it isn't broken, break it more.
  • This version crashes a ton 1/5

    By Lyons_houston
Guys, You need to fix this. You updated something and when I am flipping back and forth from email (making notes) and ppt, ppt crashes CONSTANTLY!! This is the only feature I require (stability) because I use ppt only so I can flip back and forth between apps. If you can't fix this, I will no longer use the app and for sure won't keep a subscription to office 365. M

Update In past versions, I used the software without signing in (or sometimes I would sign in and then sign out before leaving for a trip). With the current release, it appears that one must not sign out before placing the iPad in airplane mode. If this had been indicated in the upgrade notes it would have saved me some needless angst over the past few days. Changed review from 1 to 3 stars. Initial review - 4/15/17 Prior versions allowed me to create and edit slideshows stored on my iPad device without requiring sign-in. This is an essential feature, permitting me to work away from Wi-Fi networks and cell towers (e.g., when on an airplane or in the mountains). It seems that this capability has now been rescinded. The most recent updates to Office for iPad have rendered these applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) useless for me.

  • What the hell happened? 1/5

    By Makidd
I loved this app until the version 2.0 update. Now i can no longer use the spacebar on my remote keyboard to advance slides. In fact no key will advance slides. It will also not show any of my older powerpoint slides in the open tab. I can only load them from the dropbox app. It is a real pain. Microsoft you can do better.
  • Worst update ever 1/5

    By ERpatter
I loved this app until the April 10th update. I use this app for accounting class presentations on my iPad Pro. So I use animations and the pencil during my slide show. Prior to the update, writing on the slides did not interfere with advancing slides or animations. Now after I write on a slide the "do not write on slide with finger" option automatically activates and touching the slide leaves marks with no ability to advance the slides. To do so, I must manually turn off the pencil in the top menu bar. Moreover, the pencil color changes on its own, the app freezes up and crashes and I can no longer access my files on Dropbox. Please allow me to choose the previous version, which I loved and would assign 5 stars to it. Come on Microsoft, making it "better" by making it worse is horrible product development.
  • Sad 1/5

I had been sticking by Microsoft Office all these years, even though all my devices are Apple, I kept using Office, so loyally, that I didn't even take the time to learn Pages or Keynote. But after this update nearly ruining a Final Presentation I had for Medical Schoo this morning, I think the time has come to end this and cancel the subscription. What the hell was that?! First Word took a dive off the cliff over the last few moths, and now PPT?! One Note always was terrible, but the pain was made better thanks to these two stallions. But it's over, it's done. Tried Keynote last night and will do just fine. Better than having your program close each time you try to open a file not saved in Office or One Drive Thank you for the memories. We had some good times.
  • App is great - logistics and upgrades are a pain 4/5

    By Jimhusky999
I downloaded PowerPoint a couple of years ago and it worked great. In the last year it had the annoying feature of trying to get me to sign in to Office 365, but still allowed me to continue to create and update files stored on my iPad. With their latest update to the software (4/12/17) the App ceased allowing updating or creating files without signing in to my Microsoft account. Once I signed in to my Microsoft account, it worked as it had in the past, and it did not require me to purchase Office 365. A lot of hassle, but it is working as promised in the App description without requiring a purchase of Office 365.
