  • Little bugs 5/5

    By Amjed1
A little bugs that prevent me from writing periodically.. Please fix them —Reply by edit ... Bugs are: • when coming from another app by 4-finger scrolling , half of screen disappears. • compatibility leaks with documents works on before update. • when hold tapping in order to focus on specific point in document, the cursor run far from even page i need to focus on its some point. • when writing a Document Header, the letters response are very slow, but with that slow, a letter that I've tapped will completely written. Hoping I've identified clearly.. Thanks for response.

Hey, I paid for a full subscription. I paid to use this product; I expect to have every feature word has on a PC. You cant use the excuse that its a tablet in 2017. Your cutting some pf the features because we decided to not buy one of your products. Attempting to punish us isn't going to really make any of us want to go buy another one of your products. In fact, it feels like a cheap blow.
  • The April 18, 2017 update issues 1/5

    By Ron Sauve
April 30: Another update, but no improvement. I have given you several feedback comments via the app, but I've gotten no response from you except once here, and that was only telling me to do what I've already done several times. I like this app very much, but right now, not so much, as it is sorely crippled in that none of the fonts in the app are available to use. Almost all of them have the download cloud next to them, and even the ones who indicate they are available are not. The only available font is Calibri, and when I try to change the font, the ribbon shows that it's changed, but it's not changed. It stays Calibri in the document, despite showing in the ribbon that it's another font. I wish you hadn't messed this app up so badly with that April 18 update, but after being repeatedly notified of the problems crippling the app, I would have expected you to provide a solution, but you're still not resolving it some 2 weeks later. Response to Microsoft's response: What is the icon ellipsis you're talking about? And what other information do you need? I already gave you everything from your in app feedback before, and also in this review as well. What more do you need? I'm very puzzled trying to figure out what you're asking for??? 1. With the latest april 18, 2017 update, why cant we change the font in Word for iPad? Any thoughts on how to resolve that? The fonts are all there, but we're unable to use them, as they show that they're not loaded. I had been using them just fine until this last update. Please can we have access to all our fonts in Word for iPad? 2. And is there any way to set our own default font? I very much prefer Microsoft Yi Baiti. Thanks for any help you can give! 3. Also, before this update my list of recent documents arranged itself in alphabetical order, which made it very easy to keep track of the files I want to keep on top of the list. But now, they're arranged in the order you last opened them, which would work if you wanted them all on top, but I don't! When I'm done with them, I'm done with them, but now I have to go searching through the list to find what I want, which is much more time consuming, as now they're all helper skelter with no particular order to them! Please, please, please restore the alphabetical order to my recent documents!

  • So Useful 4/5

    By Marilcat
4.9 stars It is so much easier to carry my tablet around compared to my lap top. I have only ever had one sync issue, but it was easily resolved and I'm pretty sure it was user-error. The only thing I wish they would update is I cannot upload things to Blackboard (a website many colleges use to provide an online platform for submissions and sending messages) through the website or app. This is because it does not show up as a selectable "location" when trying to upload. I pretty much have to switch to my laptop if I want to upload the document itself. This is not normally an issue because I can copy and paste things in, but sometimes I need to put the document in. It seems like it would be a simple fix, and it is something I would really like to see. Other than that I love it!

How can i not give 5 stars to a FREE word app that allows me to create and edit!! Thank you! I love all my apple products, but clearly this kind of app is very necessary today. Thank you!
  • Don't like this subscription requirement 1/5

    By DJSFO
I agree with the last review by Nathan. I know Microsoft wants the subscription idea because it's income every year!! I would rather have to buy the application software then this stupid idea of yearly subscriptions. Even a basic version like the phone app without the subscription for a computer would be welcomed for me.

I got this app under my school system and it is amazing!! Definitely an app that is worth it because college requires a lot of typing essays and PowerPoint usage. Recommend to those that require its use.

  • SLOW 3/5

    By elena.corpus91
I have an iPad Air 2 and I used this app before. It was fast, but an update messed it up. When I have a chart in a document, these buttons appear to highlight columns/ rows. Those buttons tend to make the app slow, since there's too much (because my charts are big). Please remove those, or have an option to turn it off. Thanks.
  • So glitchy now 1/5

    By Nf413
This app used to have a few glitches here and there but it was mostly fine. Ever since this latest update came out it has been a complete nightmare to work with. Trying to comment or make track changes causes all kinds of weird issues. The cursor jumps around when you're trying to place it in a specific spot, half the time I highlight words or phrases and attempt to add a comment there is not even a task bar that pops up with that option, every time I close a comment it makes the entire word doc jerk around and get smaller. Among many other things (mostly related to track changes). What the hell bugs did you fix in this update because it seems like you just created more! I have up to date software and a relatively new iPad. This app is the only one that I have issues with.

  • Super-helpful app on the go 5/5

Love the entire app suite for when I'm on the go. Makes it possible to avoid inbox overload by dealing with small things as they happen. However, the app logs me out frequently and with no notification I just assume things are quiet. Silly me. Hope this can be fixed.

  • Works great, but.... 4/5

    By Horse McGee
I haven't quite mastered all the menu items like the normal Word on a Windows platform. But, that's a formality that shouldn't count toward the app in general. Otherwise, I like it, works like it should.
  • Word is Great !!! 5/5

Wish I had any comments but this is wonderful tool for success.
  • Latest update buggy still 3/5

    By Tttttttttttttthhfgg
Word is great. On iPhone I search on a blank document and there's no link back. Found "Space before or after paragraph." It's in styles, you have to pick a style, or choose "NoSpacing" to remove it. But I applied Bold/strong and can't remove it. Careful storing online. I wouldn't do it. That's just a computer and you don't control it. I've had stuff stolen from another remote server. With a program you can transfer files to PC. Then you've got the owner of the program, say, Syncios, spying and maybe stealing but numbers/risks are lower.
  • Excellent at what it is 5/5

    By Godfather Charlie
I have come to rely on this app and its companions (Excel, Lens) to be able to create and edit documents from my hand-held devices. For this purpose it is outstanding. To the reviewers who whine that this or that feature is not present, I say GET SERIOUS. Are you going to conduct your life off of a 4" screen? Be astounded by what the app can do, not a complainer that your whole life does not fit in an iPhone.
  • Great 4/5

    By Crystal2655
The only thing I don't like is not being able to change formatting styles or searching for templates. Otherwise, really great & convenient app.
  • Ridiculously user unfriendly 1/5

Ridiculously user unfriendly. Could not figure out how to delete or rename a folder, couldn't find any sort of help section to explain it. Wasted a ton of time trying to figure it out. Eventually deleted the app and reinstalled it, but all the folders were still there! Couldn't get rid of unwanted folders. I hate wasting my time so I'll probably never use this piece of junk again. UPDATE now this app refuses to open any of my files. It just says cannot connect to server. I've been trying for days, same result. Tried restarting, makes no difference. So now I have no access to any of my files!
  • App getting worse 1/5

    By LumpyMonkey
For the last several updates, the usability of this app has been going downhill. It works less and less with my bluetooth keyboard, and it's the only app on my iPad with this problem, and the formatting functions like bolding and italics no longer work. I'm getting closer and closer to abandoning this app. While it once held promise to be equal to its desktop PC version, I see only Microsoft failing at hiring programmers who know what they're doing. I cannot recommend this app to anyone on a iPad, with or without a connected keyboard.

  • An Expensive Disappointment 1/5

    By Jim Groves
TL/DR: I wanted to use Word on my PC and iPad Pro interchangeably. Surprise! I can't. I'd love to update my review with a positive outcome and a higher rating. For context: I purchased my iPad Pro as a productivity device to write in a situation where Word is required. I am currently an Office 365 subscriber. I don't consider myself a power user. I just need to write to a style guide. I am required to use certain styles which are given to me from a template .doc (Word 97-2003). My turnover doesn't need to remain in that format. I'm welcome to save as a .docx, it just has to keep those styles. When I open a document, this iOS version strips about half of those required styles out. I have tried saving the document to a .docx on my PC (where Office 10 actually maintains the styles I need) and then open it in iOS, but it still removes the ones I need. There is no way to add or import the styles. This scenario just completely invalidates why I bought an iPad Pro in the first place. Don't get me wrong, I like the tablet, but I expected to use it for productivity. There was no way to discover this deficiency ahead of time. Now my iPad is a game machine while I hope for an update. My second disappointment is the Apple Pencil. I am not a teacher or college professor. I have no need to draw on my documents. I don't want to draw stars, smiles or frowny faces, or even circle text and scribble notes. I was looking for a precise editing tool, that could place a cursor where I wanted quickly, or select text so that I could format it or even cut and paste it. You know? An editing tool not a collaboration tool, because my fingertip is not a precise instrument. Thanks to this lack of functionality, my Apple Pencil is great for adult coloring books to reduce stress (because Word doesn't do what I need it to). I have not cancelled my Office 365 subscription (YET), but so this app has been a complete let down, and I spent a lot of money on a tablet that doesn't do what I want. I hope the Developers will reply or update the app. I will gladly revise my review if they do.
