Drive Detection Issue 4/5
It would be nice if drive detection was able to be auto paused during non work hours. It is rare, if ever, that I track drives during non work hours. If I forget to pause drive detection on the weekends it will drain my battery in half a day between errands, running/working out, etc. otherwise this is a good app and very helpful with expenses.
Was great until iPhone 7 1/5
Worked great using an iPhone 5s. Now using a 7 about 25-50% of my drives aren't accounted for. I still have the 5s and the settings are the same on each phone. According to customer service/ technical service I can always manually enter the drives on the dashboard. No kidding!!!! Great suggestion. I can do the same thing using excel and THAT DOESN'T COST ANYTHING!!!!
New day: 152 miles of new routes/stops. Nothing is recorded. I'm done with it. Purchase with caution. It can't be the phone
Working with customer service SOME of the issues have been resolved and they are trying to fix the rest. I'll give it 3 stars (up from 1) for now
Not sure if iOS 11 or the app 1/5
Since the update this app a has been randomizing start times and locations. Basically many trips are starting and stopping at home with random times. I am driving, but not from home and not at the start and stop times it’s listing. I’ve already lost in value what I pay in annual membership. This needs to be addressed fast.
Very good app 5/5
By Slumdog Battleship
Easy to use, and I've had no problems. I wish I could go back if I made a mistake though. There was a drive I wanted to recategorize but I was unable to find a way to do it. Otherwise, no complaints.
Easy to use 5/5
Great app to track business miles. Very easy to use.
Way better than my prior method 4/5
Yearly, I am always trying to play catch up on mileage logs; it becomes tedious and I always end up drastically underestimating the miles. MileIQ is proving that I use much more business miles than I estimated. I look forward to running the report at year end.
So far so good 4/5
Great app but expensive 3/5
Usually the 40 drives a month is sufficient for me, but I have to remember to turn it off and on when I'm driving for personal trips. Also, the turning drive detection off feature is not conveniently located in the app, which seems purposeful. The "subscription" is way too expensive for what you get. I'm self employed so while it is a tax deductible expense, it still has to come out of my pocket up front. I would consider it if it costs about half what they are charging for it currently.
Business partner recommended 5/5
This is amazing!

***MANAGE THE APP PREF VIA WEB LOGIN***
The app it's self is very simple and easy to use. There are complaints about mult trips being logged for one trip (stop for gas, traffic jam) but that's the price to pay for simplicity.
You can dive into app settings and even merge mult trips if you intended for it to be one ONLY by logging in online and there you can adjust many aspects, even custom rates.
I hope the app stays as mult trip logging because you can log part of your "trip" as personal and those "detour" miles will reflect personal. Say you have to detour 20 miles so you can run a personal errand... the report will reflect the detour. This drives honesty and provides a solid platform I the event of an audit. Smart way to do it IMO. (I'm a Project Manger; drive across many states, on the road weeks at a time... this app has worked miracles for me!) Thank you MicroSoft!
Wonderful Mileage Tracker 5/5
This is well worth the price of the App. I love the fact that I can name my own categories and auto track my consistent travels. Keep up the good work.
I've been using this app for about 5months. My husband and I are in our second year of business and this has made keeping track of the mileage we accrue a breeze. I noticed others stating that it missed drives/miles that they drove. I'll have to pay more attention and see if that is happening for me also. Right now I give it 4 stars.
Great tool for paper haters 4/5
By David shank
For years I tried to keep a written mileage log but I couldn't get the discipline to create the habit. MIQ has solved the problem. My accountant loves it when I turn in the properly formatted report.
Time efficient 4/5
Valuable time saver. Do wish charity set up would be easier, though.
Limited app 2/5
Wish after re downloading app and update Sept 19, 2017 the enable detection automatically would work because it says notifications must be on in settings on IOS and they are on. Button still doesn’t work. Also wish the app was as informative as the online desktop version if the website. Cannot see individual drives on the app. Have to go to desktop website to see the drives for the last few days even to add a note. Please add a way for us to see the drives and make changes, notes, etc.
Zip zip easy 5/5
The only problem I've had is leaving my phone at home! I have one part-time job, makes setting the hours easy
I have been moving for seven months. Makes tracking that just wonderful for next years taxes.
Have a disable mom, with a lot of medical travel. Makes it super easy.
It's everything that I need…

This app is great for making mileage tracking an afterthought. Simple UI, and quick designations, being a road warrior just got a whole lot easier.
Great tracking app 5/5
By Network Entrepreneur
More than satisfies my needs.
Finally a great mileage tracker 5/5
This app is unbelievable. Saves me so much grief and the details are great for auditors
Can't verify email. Tech support is useless 1/5
MileIQ came highly recommended, so I tried to purchase it. I've tried over a dozen times to sign up but I never got the verification email. I tried from multiple devices on multiple days. I checked the spam folder. I even checked with the exchange admin to see if it was blocked, nothing. I contacted tech support twice. Both times I got canned responses telling me to either "click the link in the email" [that I didn't get] or to check my spam, etc.
I'm going to use trip log. It rates higher, has more features and is less than half the price!!!
Love it! 5/5
No longer do I have to write everything down. Awesome! Sometimes you forget and it throws you off! No longer!!! Thanks
Graveyard Shift 1/5
The work hours feature will not let me/anyone input my-our shift(s). I work "graveyard," from 11:00pm (Su-Th) until 6:15am (M-F).
Keeping me sane and accountable! 5/5
By C. Finnley
I've been using This for about 4 months and have automatically saved hundreds by being able to accurately produce records of my business driving each month to send to my accountant.
Love this app!
I still love it!!! 5/5
Me and my accountant love it!!
Wish it would... 3/5
Integrate with other transportation apps so the start and end locations were filled out entirely. Great app- but room for innovation and improvements that will make it stand out against the others! Will continue to pay to use it, it is extremely helpful.
Great job guys. I work two jobs where I'd like to switch accounts quickly. Any recommendations?
Love this app! 5/5

I haven't had any issues with it at all! Works great every day! Makes my life so much easier!
So easy to use. 5/5
By Rara Avis
As of now, the app is cool. This is what tech is supposed to be like- easy and not cumbersome to use. I hope it gets even better.
Great app ever! 5/5
The best App. Ever!!!
Works great 4/5
Works great for the most part. Have had one or two instances where it showed my start or end point not in the right spot but overall the app works well. Easy to use.
Disorganise Debbie 5/5
By disorganised Debbie
Well I thrive on this organisation better than most people keeping up with Miles has been a real problem. As a realtor it is essential. Mile IQ has made this not only a possibility, easy! Thank you for developing this app. It's super easy to use and I only have to review it once every few days to keep track
Helpful for Home Health visits 4/5
I really appreciate what this app can do for me. I'm able to keep on driving without having to remember to push my odometer button. I was really bad at forgetting so this app keeps me accurate with my mileage. Only suggestion that would really help me out is having a daily tally of the mileage, separating the personal and business. That would really make my life easier!
Can't give a 5 star! 3/5
By Uber KB
Seems like ever day I'm missing trips, not just some. Other than that, I think it could be a great app! Just wish they would fix that bug.
Thank You! 5/5
I needed this... Awesome!
I try it for 4 months now i going back to paper and pen very bad at all missing must of my trip
3 stars 3/5
I wish that there was a line showing the route... instead all I get is the start/end points... very disappointed.
Game changer 5/5
Before this app I was using a mile tracking app that I had to start and stop on my own. Needless to say, I missed out on hundreds of dollars of write offs using that app because I simply forgot it. This app picks up every drive I take and I've never had any issues with it being completely accurate!
I have been using mileage IQ for about seven months. I started working for a company that had promised me a Company car as part of my position. The company had a policy of not paying any of their employees for personal use of their vehicles. But, because mileage IQ is so professional, accurate and detailed, I've been able to get paid for all my business mileage over the last seven months. I simply told them that this will be temporary until I receive my company vehicle that they promised. After talking with other employees I realize that I would never get a company vehicle.
If you work for a sleazy company that wants to cheat you on your mileage, you can simply keep this documentation until you leave the company. This will stand up in court and you can file a small claims lawsuit for $150. With this type of documentation your case will be a slamdunk in court.
Enjoy suing your x-employer with the help of mileage IQ.!!!
Works Great! 5/5
This app works perfect for my job as I'm on the road a lot.
A few tweets and would be 5 stars! 4/5
UPDATE: Sept 2017
THE JOINING OF 2 trips is good, but honestly I am finding that I need to join several trips - i.e. Stops for gas, coffee, lunch, etc, and I just want them all to appear as a single trip between the start point and my final destination. There is another App that allows this, so I'm in much debate over which App to continue using!
Another needed feature that would help is an easy way to not track a trip as a drive in my car. I'm starting to carpool with a colleague - I meet him at a nearby Starbucks and ride in his car, so easily turning off the tracking would be a HUGE help. 😎
Overall a blessing for those who need to log mileage!
It is used by, and recommended by our CPA!
It would be nice if it allowed a "group" business account- so with 1 login I could manage my vehicle and my wife's vehicle.
Also, adding a better tracking "mode" for ride sharing like UBER / LYFT driving would be great!!!
Regret not getting sooner 5/5
I can't believe how easy it is to use. Worth every penny.
Great app, huge help documenting drives! 5/5
Detects every drive I take, auto-classify of frequent drives works great, the website is now much better and has more features than the app, such as being able to bulk-classify drives - very handy if I've had a busy week and haven't classified any drives during the week. I can sit down on Friday afternoon, login to the website, and easily classify 30-40 drives, join drives together, etc., in a minute or two.
Great app, well worth the money to save the time and brain cycles of manually recording all drives in a notebook or Google Sheet, and makes it easy to put a year-end overview together for taxes.
Easy and simple 4/5
By sir steveo
Very effective and easy to use. Reports are effective and work great for my accountant which is a picky ex irs accountant.... So that says a lot
Stop asking me to review 1/5
I pay for your app. Please stop with the BS pop ups asking me to review the app. Cause now I am. Happy? Fix it and I'm happy to take this down.
Pretty good but needs improvement 3/5
First off, I use this app every day for work. Been about a full year now. I must admit it's much better at tracking me (with its shortcomings) than I ever was on my own! That says something. It is not a perfect system, but this is not always the apps' fault. I was hoping when M$ bought it, the UI shortcomings would be addressed. Guess we will see on that...
Too all that don't understand these things, MileIQ relies on your phone's environment and
GPS' location services to operate. If your phone battery dies, phone freezes up, or you turn it off, no more tracking. Cell phone signal is not a factor at all for tracking you. That's not how GPS works. If you are in a concrete jungle or restaurant kitchen the GPS can be a block or two off. That is from weird radio wave echoes and shadows, not MileIQ. If you only stop somewhere for 2-3 min it just thinks you are at a stoplight and won't register that you stopped there, but it did track those miles. That will happen sometimes to me, but maybe once a week. More often it thinks I stopped when I didn't, and I just have to join the drives.
There are a few things people should do to make it better. Always keep your phone on charger when in the car. Keep MileIQ app updated and running all the time. Edit location names and use auto-classify to train the app. After you train it, it won't even ask you about repeated trips. Home to grocery store, that's an errand, boom! That is when the app starts to actually be worth the money!! It takes a little time and a human to train it though.
Things that HAVE to be addressed IMHO...
First, be able to view past categorized drives in app, similar to the website. Maybe make it a separate screen from unclassified, but make that info available in app!! Maybe I went from home to the Walgreens right across the street from my work. No way to change once a gets auto-classified as work commute except on website.
Second Is the reporting. I use this app for 2 week pay-periods but it operates on months by default. Maybe add preference setting for reporting by weeks and not months? Both of these issues make this app a constant chore for me, because I now have to log in from a browser about every other day.
Now may the M$ Gods shine their glory upon us!
Wonderful So Easy 5/5
By Eric Jeffrey
Great little app 4/5
Does what it says and easy interface. Still trying to figure out if I can add notes for tolls
Misses drives 4/5
I have had this app for about a month now, and have noticed that there are more than a few of my drives missing. I'm not sure why this is, but is is over $100 worth of drives missing. If there were an option to add a drive, this may be acceptable. If this continues, I will definitely cancel. Pay close attention to you drives!!
Edit* With the ability to add missing drives on a computer via dashboard, I will likely continue using this app. I would hope in the future the app becomes more reliable tracking drives. 4 stars as MileIQ will save some time and present a mileage log that shouldn't be questioned.
Very expensive 4/5
Maybe around $15/year
Great product, great interface
