Strange bug ... only on max difficulty 3/5
It's Monopoly. So yea, there's that.
AI is average, and always bugs you, brokering for strange lopsided trades. But twice now, since I bought the game a few hours ago: I've been playing advanced difficulty, and owned at least one property on each color block. Then the AI asks for a trade, and I deny it. But for some reason, the AI then awards itself with the properties it asked for while giving me nothing in return.
Deny the AI a trade when you have it somewhat cornered on advanced difficulty, and the AI mugs you... ? I'll keep playing, but that's sure a weird bug.
Love it 4/5
Addicted to playing this, but my one problem is that you can't play with your friends unless you're sitting with each other. I want to play with my husband while he's at work but we can't!! Change this please
A total joke 1/5
This is the 3rd try that I downloaded this garbage app. It is beyond ridiculous how rigged this game is. The ratio of you landing on the computer's properties versus them landing on yours, is grossly disproportionate in their favor.
I'm an awesome Monopoly player in real life and have won countless times, and I've never seen anything like this. AND THIS IS ON THE EASIEST LEVEL!!!
Save your time and money on this stupid app!! It's junk!!!
AI cheats 1/5
This would be a good game if the AI players didn't collude with each other to give themselves monopolies all over the board. Case in point: Thimble has Boardwalk and Shoe has Park Place. Shoe trades Park Place to Thimble for St. Charles, even though no one even owns the other two properties to go with it. Now Thimble has a monopoly and Shoe has only St. Charles. In what universe does that make sense? The AI opponents will make deals like this throughout the game and before you know it, there are houses and hotels all over the board and you don't even have a single monopoly yet. The only way you can possibly have a fair game is by playing with only one opponent, which takes all the fun out of the game.
Fun but a little slow. 3/5
I don't get all the complaints on here. I manage to win about 30% of the time. So I don't think it's rigged. Sometimes AI even gives crazy trades the benefit you way too much.
As I said fun game. I mean it's monopoly! Just the animations are a little slow. Wish I could turn them off.
There could also be an online mode that would be nice.
Terrible AI 1/5
This game is ridiculous. It's nearly impossible to beat the AI. It will never land on your housed properties and you will always land on theirs. AI owned boardwalk and park place only, I owned almost every other property, had 2 full lanes. AI didn't land on mine once, I landed on boardwalk and then chance that read "go to boardwalk" immediately after. Not fun at all. Waste of money and time.
Just get the free version, this game cheats, you might as well not get cheated outta real money while it cheats u out of fake money
Dont buy 1/5
By This is nice game👌🏻
It is very bad game when i go int it crash and close dont even thing to buy it
Online Version 3/5
I love Monopoly and I have no problems with the app. But are they ever going to make and online version? I hate that you can only play people on the same network as you. If I pay money to have the app, I would love to be able to play against other users.
New revised version works great with IOS 10 5/5
Totally enjoy being able to play this monopoly game again on my iPhone with IOS 10.
Many thanks for developers to get this revision out and getting it usable again.
Good but there seems to be a glitch 4/5
I like the game but I keep being charged the wrong amount when AIs have railroads
Yes, it Cheats, But There Are Workarounds 4/5
First, like other reviewers have said, yes, it cheats. I've been sent to jail on back-to-back turns, I've owned entire sides, and the AI magically lands on Community Chest or Chance EVERY SINGLE TIME. 8/10 times, it will get the perfect roll to skip over your hotels.
That said, I've noticed a few things. 1) It seems to reward momentum. You start swinging deals, buying more properties, and it rewards you. 2) It punishes you at times if you don't accept a trade proposed by AI (I rarely do). 3) Even though it says Level 3 is the hardest, I've found that it's the most 'fair,' although that's an admittedly low bar.
And, I've discovered a couple workarounds that make the game far more enjoyable. First, bump up the salary to $400 for passing GO, and double it if you land on it. And make sure FREE PARKING pays out taxes. It only seems fair, based on how ridiculous it cheats. Second, use the extra cash to overpay the machine for properties you want. You have Illinois and Indiana, AI has Kentucky (because you've passed Kentucky 8 times withough be able to land on it, but AI gets it as soon as you need it). That's fine, offer it $550, it'll accept, and then you build the hell out of those properties immediately. Also, AI LOVES utilities and RRs, so you can buy them as trade bait.
I've seen folks say, "I just want to win." Since I started playing, I've won 6/8 when I migrated to my iPad, and I won a game the other day with $10,400.
Just like real life, there are unwritten rules. Once you learn them, exploit to your advantage!
Great game 5/5
By Trevor shf
Definitely worth buying the game. Easy to learn and play. Rate it 5 stars
Mediocre at best, but could be great 3/5
By 5 Fifths
This game has so much potential. It appears to capture all the fun of the original game, but it face-plants when it comes to fun or reasonableness. The computer cheats like heck! There is nothing random about the dice roll. If EA would improve the computer logic and make a game that relies on truly random dice rolls, I'd play this nonstop. I almost never write reviews. Out of sheer frustration and disappointment, I felt compelled here.
Worst a.i ever 1/5
By Mustafa azad
I just deleted the game because the a.i is cheated , the dice is cheated , always favors the Computer when you play against it ....... WORST MONOPOLY EVER
Trade Accepted.. say WHAT!!! 1/5
I hate the fact that accept and decline buttons are so stupidly close to one another. The computer constantly hounds you to make trades and 50% of time my big fingers mistakenly hit accept on a trade I would have never made, so I quit the entire game. What a waste of time
what a waste of money 1/5
this game is rigged and the devs are idiots. what a bunch of f@99ots.
It will cost you more than 99 cents 1/5
By Substance matters
I can't believe I feel so negative about a 99 cent game. The dice are loaded. Funny example of loaded dice. I had half of the board covered in hotels (literally) and it took the other two computer players five times around the board before they landed on a property literally rolling the same numbers over and over. It's so predictable it is almost funny except it takes the fun out of it. Looks like monopoly except not. You get what you pay for.
I want my money back 1/5
By Sol hunter
This game was not worth my money so i want to get my money back it is not worth it
Don't waste your money 2/5
Game is difficult to play. There is no explanation of the various controls, like how to get to "deed view" to mortgage a property. Could stand a lot of improvements.
The way this game is set up is actually terrible and really confusing. I don't recommend it.
Why can't I have more than 1 person join me for a Bluetooth game?!?! This game is crap.
Worst game ever!!!!!!!! 1/5
Thank you for destroying monopoly
Not Bad 4/5
I disagree with the people who say you can't win. I win all the time. The computer makes dumb trades.
1. When I turn down a trade, please stop having the computer make the same offer over and over. No means no.
2. Please put in the man on the horse token. That was the piece I used to growing up, and I miss not having it in the game.
New game piece 5/5
I'd like to make a suggestion for the next update of this app and that would be to add the train game piece to the collection
I win 96% of the time 4/5
I have played about 150 times and win almost every time. I play on the most advanced level with 3 AI players. I set the options up to pay 400 on GO, and divvy up all the properties. The KEY is making trades with AI players at beginning of game. Railroads and Utilities are overvalued by the AI. I use those to get aligned with properties to start getting houses AND to try to have at least one prop on every color except Baltic/Med.
The only time I lose is when the game starts with AI having a set of props, it puts houses/hotels on them and I land on them right off the bat and nobody lands on mine.
It's really easy even if the dice does "appear" to cheat.
Okay but.. 3/5
This game need a huge INTERFACE UPDATE it just seems this game is in the heat 2010, also sometime I can even play with friends it just has errors..
I went into this with an open mind after reading some of the negative reviews. Unfortunately they are all correct. The AI cheats time and time again. Not worth the $.99 I paid for it. Garbage.
Completely rigged! 1/5
This game is 100% rigged. The CPU will magically avoid your properties over and over again by landing on chance and CC and going to jail, sometimes multiple times in a row while you repeatedly land on the cpu's best properties. Just played 5 minutes ago and landed on the same hotel 3 times in a row each time around the board while the CPU went to jail 3 times in a row, avoiding my hotels on the green properties. Played one time and even though I had most of the properties and the CPU only had one suit, CPU was able to hang around even after landing on my properties, even to the point that I racked up over $40k before CPU finally lost. Joke of a game.
Save your time save your money 1/5
I love monopoly so I still downloaded the game because I thought everyone else who reviewed was just being a sore loser, NOPE. Honestly you can own an entire corner or side of a board of the board with no possible way of the CPU getting passed it (so you thought) they will land on the ONE thing that can get them past it. Hell if they roll two doubles in a row and get around to your side of the board again they will end up getting a third double sending them to jail before they get to your owned parts of the game. You will ALWAYS land on the CPU owned places no matter what if a rolled ten gets you to land on the one part of the game they own, you guessed it you're rolling a ten. I gave it about a week, played about 10 games and always the same result. By the grace of god even on the lowest skill level it's a challenge to win, not because the computer is smart because the roll of the dice is fixed and it seemed to get worse the more games I played. Save your time and save your money it's not even fun it's more of a chore than a game
New update 😕 3/5
You used to be able to flick the dice and roll them yourself but now you can either shake the screen or just tap if you turn off "shake to roll" in settings, the flick feature was better and a lot more fun. Please bring it back
We need more people online! 5/5
We need more players playing online and hosting games etc.
The favoritism of the AI on this game is ridiculous. Yes you can still win via strategy, but the programming clearly favors the AI in an unbelievable way.
Fun, but very questionable!! 2/5
The way the dice roll is very questionable. I've played 10 games and every single time you decline the AI's offer, you will land on the worst possible location (the location that you will have to pay the most money). Also, the AI rarely lands on your properties even when you have an entire side of the board with hotels.
Very questionable circumstances. Could be that the AI got us all beat, but only because it controls the dice.
All you need is boardwalk/park place 1/5
By Lifetime monopoly player
The dice are preset no doubt about it. My last game I literally had every monopoly on the board except boardwalk park place. I couldn't even buy anymore houses or hotels because I bought them all already. I had eliminated the other 2 AI players and just had 1 left. All he had was those 2 properties. And I lost. I landed on his 2 spots 5 consecutive times around the board and he skirted mine every time. How is it possible to avoid 9 monopolies 5 times in a row? I even had rr and utilities. Overall I am 24 out of 40 games but most games have gone this way.
Nice game 4/5
By Philadelphia b
It's ok to kill some time when you need..
Awesome game Needs another system 5/5
Add this game to the Nintendo switch! It would sell like crazy using the controllers or just the touchscreen! It would be amazing! Thanks!
Program is not fair; Hasbro's Computer Programmers are Inbred 1/5
By The Perfect Stud
The result of the game is totally based on computer algorithms and not skill. You could be the greatest Monopoly Player in the World and still lose because the computer decides who will win each game. Sometimes it chooses you and, most of the times it doesn't. It isn't because you're a poor player. It is strictly because the dice are not truly randomized computer dice. They are systematically rigged by the computer programmers.
Fun, but online would be fun 4/5
The game is loads of fun, just like true monopoly. I think they did a great job. However, I would love an online option. Being able to have a game with a bunch of random people
The online department really needs work. Crashes constantly.
By Aviator Vineet
Should add onine live game centre play please
Entertaining BUT........ 2/5
The game favors the computer wayyyyyyyyy toooo much it really makes it no fun. I mean it's not a slot machine or a gambling game.
I just got sent to jail 6 times in a row just because I'm beating the computer
Change the game make it more fair
Change the settings a little bit there hasbro. Otherwise your game is not worth it
This game is trash. Rolls are rigged
DO NOT BUY IT!!!!!! -0 stars 1/5
THIS GAME FAVORS COMPUTER EACH TIME. I LITERALLY SAT HERE PLAYING 6+ HOURS AND LOST EVERY GAME. Don't buy it's not fair and a waste!!!
Just make it random 3/5
Why couldn't they just make the dice rolls truly random? This would be so much more fun. There should be a difficulty setting that forces the dice to be truly random.
Dice not rigged 5/5
Almost didn't buy because of the negative reviews. If you know the major strategy, you'll win more often than not. Still possible to tweak game rules to make it a little more interesting.
Build Houses 1/5
How do you build houses?
Cheater cheater pumpkin eater 1/5
Let's skip to the middle of the game.. I knock out two AI players and am down to just one AI.. It owns both utilities and has a monopoly of the reds and the dark blues.. I own everything else.. All properties have hotels (I turn the hotel limits off) and I have about $4K.. At this point, the AI goes to jail, stays on for 3 turns and doesn't land on my property when it gets out.. On the next turn, they go directly back to jail, again without landing on my property.. They repeated this algorithm 7 times.. Meanwhile, I go around the board 20+ times and land on a red or a dark blue every time.. Now I have no hotels and the AI has like $17k and I continue to land on their properties every trip around the board until I'm mortgaged into bankruptcy.. I started playing this game almost 30 years ago and never saw that happen once.. The game obviously cheats..
So rigged 1/5
I really love how this game works.. let's see an example... so computer has 3 houses each on boardwalk and park place, and two houses each on the red section, computer gets the card that says it has to get hotels repaired yet it only pays 120... I had 3 houses on the light blue section and got the same card and paid 400....-_-
Unfair. I need money back. 1/5
This is terrible game. If dice is not fair, what's the point of the board game? Such an unpleasant experience and requesting money back.
