App locks up 2/5
By Tech Guy in TN
Updated to iOS 11 today. When I start the app, the splash screen loads, they the app crashes. It has a placeholder in the app switcher, but it never starts.
I'm new to this app...I wish I had this app when I watched the Solar Eclipse in Carbondale! 5/5

Would appreciate option for - Less pictures more stars w/just outlines. Could not find space station-satellite tracker of past original versions.
Becoming too cluttered can't see stars for art work. Miss original clarity and music.

I like it!

Wonderful look at the planets
Not lining up 1/5
Really cool features but when the moon itself doesn't line up (45 degrees off), even after following the set up to do so, is a disappointment. Maybe it needs to be recalibrated but that is not easy to know how to do. I'll change my review if I can figure this out.
Love teaching my kids about the stars and constellations. As well as where the names of where the planets came from. The music makes it better for a mellow night. Awesome app. Thank you.
This app is amazing. It shows me more information about the constellations I already know about which is nice. It even shows me where the ISS and other space stations and space probes are and where they are going
Great app! 5/5
When I first opened the app, it loaded very fast and went straight to the map of the sky. The map shows everything from planets to constellations to satellites and more. If you click on anything in the sky that's labeled, you can read a very in-depth information screen about whatever you've clicked on. You can also buy a premium subscription for $9.99/mo, but I don't think it's necessary for you to enjoy this app.

Best app for stargazing, planets and satellites! Love it!
Awesome app with tons of great features & support! 5/5
By Doren Sean Michael
I’ve been recently comparing Astronomy viewing apps and Night Sky has now become my definitive go-to stargazing app. Immediately after downloading & installing the app I purchased a yearly subscription for only $9.99 because the “Night Sky Tonight” feature is a MUST have for anyone serious about nighttime gazing. Not only does it show an animation of what you’ll be able to see that night, it also lists the planets with their rises & sets, satellites, viewing conditions, pollution map & nearby dark sites. Their “Get Info” button for everything takes you to a page full of extensive details & additional photos of the object. The Apple Widget is perfect for letting me know current viewing conditions and with a graphical representation of when it will be optimum. Their notifications are also some of the best I’ve experienced, spanning, not only, news about objects to currently view, but viewing conditions as well. Then there’s basic, but very nice unique features, like the pseudo horizon cityscape and the ability to share objects you’re viewing. They also have a built-in photo app with special nighttime camera features not even found in Apple’s own camera app. I love my Apple Watch & some apps fail, but not Night Sky! Raise your wrist to identify objects, lower it & you’ll get a compass and an overview of the objects you can currently see. Then spin the crown forwards or backwards and watch as you can time travel the viewable objects around you. Overall it’s an absolutely incredible app for novices & serious amateur astronomers alike! You won’t be disappointed!

Love it 5/5
This app does everything we wanted it to. We can even watch the progress of the eclipse without losing our eyesight.
Literally, produces awe...in me anyway...I can follow the space station and answer questions like, "Is that a planet or a star?"

Night Sky is a fabulous, educational, and fun tool for orientation to the various str formations.
Best Space App EVER! 5/5
This is the only space app I could find that had deep sky objects included with it. The best part is it's free.
Fast & Fancy... 4/5
I got the app for my AppleTV, and it appeared on my phone too. Wow! Very pretty visuals, very fast, too.
I like it on the AppleTV, too, but it thinks I'm in the North Atlantic Ocean?!?!?!??!! How do I make certain it knows where my living room is? I couldn't find a way to set that. (Ohio is a bit inland from the ocean!)
Got for family, great learning for all!
Excellent . . . But 4/5
Would be a 5 if it wasn't for the compass alignment issue: the app never seems to align properly with true and/or magnetic north.

Wolf rayet stars of milky way strongly dominate southern celestial hemisphere. Nearest major galaxies (i.e. Andromeda and Triangulum) northern celestial hemisphere.
