Clean, but key functions missing 2/5
By No Gilt
The app is clean and fast and laid out well, but suffers from these major issues:
1. My Classes will not aggregate reservations at multiple locations. This makes it very difficult to keep track of upcoming reservations, which is crucial because members are charged for any missed sessions. This is the #1 key request to add in.
2. Same for waitlists. However, I’ll say that it’s very helpful that the waitlist icons show your place in line.
3. Feed the calories burned back into the app, and enable the app to share that data with Health. Tracking calories and heart rate performance are fundamental parts of the OTF experience, and so many members want that data to feed into their weight loss or exercise tracking. This is also a key missing function.
4. Fix the booking bugs, which will bump you out into a purchasing plan, even for a premier membership. These bugs are: (a) When trying to add to a waitlist for a non-home club, and (b) When trying to book outside of your payment date. Please create a correct error screen, to identify the user error, rather than redirecting to a confusing and incorrect sales screen.
5. The iPad app only supports portrait mode! If you’re using an iPad with a keyboard in landscape, and just want to check on your OTF reservations, you’re out of luck. Not acceptable.
If these key bugs were fixed, the app would surely be at least 4 star. Currently, all of the above issues require calling a club to reserve over the phone - a massive waste of time, even though team members are typically very nice.
Additionally: an Apple Watch app, to show HR info in real time while in a workout, would be fantastic.
Can’t book classes at other clubs! 1/5
Frustrated that you can’t book classes at a non-home gym! I don’t have time to call constantly. Frustrating as I plan to use one gym during the workweek and another one for the weekends.
No map feature 1/5
This probably the most worthless app. I allowed the app to see my location but you can’t find a studio based on your location. Each time you have to pick your country, then state, and then the studio. And the studios don’t even have a naming convention with the city name in it. I got this to use when I travel. No way I can find out if there is a studio close to me. This is a basic feature of any app. Shows they didn’t put an effort into it.
App needs major improvements 2/5
Why in the world do you have all locations in an entire state and not have them organized by city or even a map feature! I don’t know what each of the 6-7 locations are called but I know the general area and would be able to figure it out if it at least said the city before the location name.. Gotta get that fixed!!!
Cannot add classes 1/5
I am unable to add classes on the app at OTFs that are not my home studio. I am also not allowed to add multiple classes at a studio that is not my home studio. Therefore this app is pointless if I have to call the studio to add classes. Please fix!
Needs work and more features 3/5
At least, I can join and cancel classes from app. But it's time consuming because the screen is always loading after you open something or take action. Load screen also always loads even if app is open. Slooooowww! Get rid of it.
If you’re scheduled in a class, you don’t know if it’s full or not. It used to be you knew even if you’re in the class. Need to know this as it can affect changing classes.
Lots of opportunity 3/5
By A Software Engineer
Overall, this app does the basics reasonably well, which is scheduling OTF classes at your home gym.
OTF app team, please consider ways to level up the UX and value of this app for the OTF experience:
1. Integrate with iOS HealthKit so that your OTF workout appears as a data source in the Health app. This is an obvious synergy.
2. Apple Watch app... show your real-time status from OTBeat during a workout (gray/blue/green/orange/red zones)... even better if Apple Watch can replace wearing an OTBeat band (one less thing to remember and charge)
3. Profiles... let one app manage multiple members. I travel heavily and join my wife on weekends for OTF workouts as a “day date”. My wife schedules both of us at the same time, which isn’t possible on a single device without massive UX friction
4. Support gyms other than home gyms. I travel heavily for work. I pay per class because I can’t easily use a monthly membership, since it’s hard to find/schedule classes outside your home.
App is TRASH 1/5
Though I love OTF... this app really make you contemplate canceling your whole darn membership... it's so frustrating when you are paying so much money for the premier membership and are told during sign up that you can book at any studio near you. I switch between 2-3 studios and I can only use the app to sign up for classes at my home studio... I've complained numerous of times for months and still no change. I've even asked for corporates number, but haven't received it yet as they want to try and fix it again. My next step is to complain to BBB and consumer affairs. If this isn't fixed soon I'm sure they'll be a class action suit against OTF for false advertisement...
Could use some simple upgrades 2/5
App is easy to use and book classes on, but could use a few simple upgrades. If they added an indicator for each class to show what the wait list looks like or if one class is fully open. Also- a simple tab on the app to view your performance summary. The emails we receive already show class, weekly, monthly and yearly totals.. so we know it’s already being tracked.
So faulty 1/5
By Dr. Raf
Won’t open half the time and many times it doesn’t show the booked classes. The OTF staff is bewildered.
Can’t see your level until your workout is done 2/5
The app works OK and it connects with the OTbeat, but you can’t see your color-coded level until you end your workout. So the app isn’t all that useful.
Liability error 1/5
What’s the point in an app for booking when every time I try to use it I have to resign the liability clause and then get an error saying “unfortunately we are unable to update your account at this time”
Mind you, this has been going on for 3 days. If I want to book a class, I have to call the gym and hope they answer.
App keeps crashing 1/5
I can’t open the app! I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it and it still won’t open. Looked for a place to contact customer service on their website and could only find links for studios, press inquiries or franchise opportunities. No place to submit app inquiries. Help!
OTF didn't give me a receipt for my monitor and it won't link without it 1/5
I bought a monitor during the grand opening of OTF. I'm guessing they haven't worked out all the kinks because they did not send me a receipt. When I went to link my monitor to the app, it's forcing me to put a copy of my receipt on here showing I bought the monitor from OTF. I hate when companies nickel and dime customers to death and do stuff like this to force people to buy through them. If they are going to do this then the receipt needs to automatically be sent out. First impression is not good. I can't even get into the app.
“Book multiple” not working 2/5
The “book multiple” feature is suddenly not working. Real pain adding one class at a time.
Horrible interface 1/5
The interface is terrible. It resets the calendar to today’s date every time you change a class, leading to errors in booking and canceling.
Do you go to different locations?? Forget this app. 1/5
What a joke not been able to book on different location.
So many things missing 1/5
I don’t understand why you cannot book at more than one studio. This seems like a no-brainer. Also I can’t book any dates my renewal date.
When you want to look at schedules for another location, you can’t see the entire list, and when you go to see more locations you have to put in the country, state than pick your location. Why not add location services so it just shows the studios in your metro area. If you are traveling or something like that then have it where you do the manual search.
I love OTF so I really hope they make some much needed improvements to the app!
Sooomany bugs - love the gym hate the app 1/5
By Pickle me
Ok. In today’s world, you’ve got to get the app right. You’ve got to overhaul all the bugs and make the cross studio capabilities better. You MUST. Please don’t make this painful for us. I tried to book a class, several clicks later and still couldn’t get it done. I went to my other gym. I can’t be bothered. OTF the app matters too.
It’s an ok app. Needs improvement 2/5
I’d like to see my balance of classes.
I’d like to see how many are on waiting list before I book.
I’d like to buy/change memberships from app.
It’s just OKAY. 3/5
I work around the entire Bay Area so I like to switch between locations, it would be nice to have “My Classes” show me ALL of the classes I sign up for between locations instead of only being able to view the classes for that one specific location. It would also be nice if there was an option to “Add Reminder” to a specific calendar, instead of automatically saving to the default calendar. I’ve had no issues signing up for any classes, which is great.
Love OTF, hate the app 1/5
This app is the worst. Even though I have an unlimited membership, I can’t join a waitlist at a studio that is not my home studio unless I buy services. Switching between studios is a pain, it would be nice to see how many people are on the waitlist.
Needs to be updated for iPhone X 2/5
Just bought my new iPhone and this app won’t download. Very frustrated.
Sounds like a bunch of privileged.... 5/5
By Sugar & Spice Fitness
Sounds like a bunch of privileged and entitled millennials to me. Writing such rude reviews. Constructive criticism is great but do you have to be such an arse about it. It won’t get you very far. Facts.
Great Workout, Garbage App 1/5
By Ken Lazer
Don’t bother downloading this app. Just sign in using the website to books classes. Very slow, if it works at all.
The App Won’t Launch 1/5
After updating iOS yesterday, the app is just stuck on the splash screen and won’t launch.
Very disappointing. There’s no fix currently available.
Can’t send an email via the contact page 2/5
By Game Player 51
There is no send or go button. Also, The email template opens and you can type a message, but you then have to kill the app to get back to the nav. Lastly, when I tried to select and copy the text I had already written so that I could send it via regular email it wasn’t actually in my paste buffer. Please fix this!
Can’t book at other locations 1/5
I’m having the same issue as others - I can only book classes at my “home” location, but not the others in town. OTF is great but the app is garbage.
Please add alagila tab to kuwait country
This app is full of glitches 1/5
So frustrating! Worst of many items on a long list of complaints, I can only book classes at my home studio. I pay $200 per month for access to multiple locations and this is SUPER frustrating to schedule or cancel via phone.
This app has so many bugs and glitches, it drives me crazy and tempts me to cancel my membership. I live in a city with multiple locations which are inconsistently labeled (City - Neighborhood vs Neighborhood - City for others). I can't actually see classes I've attended or a list of classes I'm on the waitlist for. Some studios I can't book. I can't tell how many classes I have left or if I've paid for extra...the list goes on and on.
OTF, you must support your customer base with a better service. It's all part of the customer experience. Don't sully your brand with an app that my 18-year-old cousin could improve over a weekend. Fix it already!
Please fix your app 1/5
I wish they would fix this app and am not sure why they haven't. Can't get added to the waitlist without an email, the app crashes or doesn't work so you can't cancel classes and then sometimes double books for one day. The company would be so much better off with happier customers if they invested in a new app.
Losing patience 1/5
I have just reinstalled the app for the 3rd time in 5 months. I'm a paid up member with unused classes, yet I get prompted to buy services. I've put a card down at other locations, as that would supposedly solve the problem with booking issues there. Worked for about. Month or so and not working again. I can't manage a fitness membership where the only way to book a class is to call. This isn't 1989.
Good gym..horrible app 1/5
By Not pleased 8481
This app is so poorly laid out and virtually useless if you need to do anything outside book a class at your home location. To make matters worse you can't do anything through their website as it's one giant advertisement without a members section. The gym is great, but they need to work on this. By the way I don't review apps ever but it's important someone look at this feedback. Clearly I'm not alone in this thought.
Great app! 5/5
I previously reviewed this app and gave it one star because I could only book at the location I originally signed up at. I brought up this issue at the new location I’ve been trying to go to and she told me it was an I.T. issue on their end, not the app or it’s developer. She put in a request for it to be fixed and a day later I was able to book at any location I wanted! This app is very easy to navigate and SUPER convenient!
Works...some of the time 2/5
Cmon OTF. You have one of the fastest growing franchises in the country and you skimp on the app?
It constantly logs me out and have to re-login with all my credentials. How about having the app remember the username and password like every other app does?
Choosing locations? You have to have a map and not just names. My home studio’s name doesn’t have anything about the town we are in. I guaranteed out of towners miss it.
I get we have to sign a waiver at each place, but why don’t you give cross Credit Card access to each studio? Maybe bc or the ownership of each studio? Regardless, this is a pain.
Once the app works and you are at your home studio, it’s great!
No more late cancellation reminders 1/5
The app used to prompt you if you attempted to cancel a class prior to the allotted time. Now it doesn’t. If you cancel too late, you’re assigned a late cancellation fee and there is no more warning. Seems shady OTF. Very disappointing.
Needs Touch ID 3/5
By Patrick Cope, Pasadena
App is fine for booking classes at my home gym. Easy to navigate but the real pain is it always requires me to log in. Please get Touch ID in this to make the process easier!
What's the point? 1/5
By Chase Racer
This app doesn't work
this app never gets better 1/5
there is always something wrong with this app and the big things people complain about are ignored. scenario: I have a founder's monthly rate ($169/mo) from one studio and moved so I go to another studio closer to my new home. However, I can't book classes at the new studio from the app and have to visit MindBodyOnline from a browser window. Every time there’s an unexplainable billing issue, I don’t know it because of the discrepancy between studio I actually visit and the home one. I’m angry just typing out this logistical nightmare.
ClassPass and boutique studios I previously attended have had this feature for years. How can OT not figure this out?
Won’t let you book other gyms 1/5
This app is unfortunately not helpful when trying to book at other gyms. Pretty frustrating.
Crappy App 1/5
It would be good if they didn't have it at the first point! Awful App, signs out by itself every now and then, if you change your plan, forget about booking classes all together. You'll have to make a call and book your classes from them. Get your basics right! Developing such a simple app is not as complicated as you think it is!
Workout sessions are amazing at the studio and this app kills the buzz for it!! Please update ASAP or remove it completely and ask us to use your website to book permanently!
Can’t book classes and won’t let me update liability section 1/5
I have to call my local OTP that I am signed up with to book a class. They have confirmed everything is good with my account and have no idea why when i sign with my finger and choose “update my account”’is says unable to update at this time. We have been trying for weeks. Can anyone help??? They told me my only chance was to post a review to get help. I have logged out many times, reinstalled etc
App won’t let me book classes 1/5
The app doesn't let me book classes, even at my home studio. When I try to, it tells me I have missing fields and, once I fill everything out, it says it cannot process my request. I thought it would eventually get fixed, but I signed up in April and it still doesn’t work. Very frustrating.
By Unhappy bubble player
It’s ridiculous that someone who has an unlimited plan can’t book anything past their cycle date. The whole point of having an app is to not have to call or go to the front desk to schedule appointments. How can staff schedule outside of your cycle date but you can’t. Makes no sense.
Incredibly annoying you cannot book into the next month on a subscription. I have to wait for my subscription to renew before being able to use the app, and there’s often a wait list by then.
It works 5/5
I have had no issues with this app. It lets me schedule classes at my home gym as well as other gyms, so all is good!
Does the job 4/5
Overall, this app is fine. It does what it’s supposed to do (let me sign up for my classes). My only issue with it is that you have to log in every single time. That gets annoying quick. I do like that it creates an entry in my calendar for me.
App has some work to be done 2/5
I use this app regularly and I will have to agree that two issues are fairly annoying:
1. You can only book classes in the same billing cycle. So even though I have an unlimited membership, I have to wait for the next billing cycle to book classes that are only a few days away. The work around is to fill out a paper form and submit it to the studio, which is not as easy as just using the app, kind of defeats the purpose of the app in my opinion.
2. If you would like to book a session at any studio outside of your own, the app will not allow it without asking for payment. Again I am an unlimited membership so that doesn’t make sense either. The work around is that you have to call ahead to the studio to book the class. It would be nice if it allowed me to do that because I travel a lot and it would make things much easier.
If those things were fixed, I think it would be a 5 star app in my opinion.
Great concept, usability and design need improvement 2/5
I use the app to schedule and view upcoming classes. Overall I’ve had a pretty good experience with it. But that’s it, it’s just meh. I wish there were more features in the app to view my past performances, overall stats, and a more integrated fitness app experience. The email after every workout is far greater branded than the app. The UI seems very dated and general, the user experience does not seem to be designed specifically for the OTF community. This app does not match the retail experience. A UX/UI upgrade to the app can greatly benefit OTF’s customers’ relationship.
Update not working 1/5
Since the last update the App crashes and won’t open so now I can’t schedule classes
