Every time I try to login, it just cuts out of the app, a useless app to get, don’t download
Not user friendly 1/5
I have to use this app for school because we don’t have enough textbooks for everyone, but I can’t get any work done at home. I try to click on a diagram, and nothing shows up. I try going to the table of contents to click on the section I want, and all that loads is a blank white screen. This app needs some serious work done before it’s actually usable and efficient.
I wish the app could read the textbook so that you could listen while doing other activities.
Faulty Website 1/5
The only reason this app exists is because it's website fails to work properly
Not working 1/5
It’s annoying having to download the book every time you are going to read it. Today is not downloading. So I couldn’t read it. I deleted the app.
This is why our school system is in shambles, it uses a company such as this to delivery locked ebooks that are overpriced and require a special app to open and read the book. It might be ok if the app at least worked, but this app is garbage. Perhaps the developer should read some of the 300 dollar coding books, perhaps they tried using the first version of the app and that’s why we go this worthless upgrade
This app would be a lot better if it had an option where you can jump to a certain page.
Good Ebook 4/5
I teach a surveying course. It works very well, however, it would be helpful to have Apple Pencil support.
Better than my school LMS integration, but missing key functionality 3/5
The Pearson integration into my school’s learning management system is horrid and provides a very small window view for the e-text. This app is leaps and bounds better than that and looks great on my iPad. But this app is seriously lacking in navigation. When I go to the TOC, only the first two sections are listed under each chapter even though there are many more sections available. Also there is no “go to page” feature. So the best I can do is use the table of contents to get to the second section and then flip through the pages until I get to where I left off in the textbook - possibly 30 or 40 pages! Also the timeout feature is very quick. If you leave the app to grab lunch when you come back you are back at the textbook selection screen instead of the page where you left off. Leaving you to painstakingly navigate back to your last page via the method I just described. I could do without a go to page function if at least the TOC was fixed to show the full TOC.
Can't get my textbook 1/5
The text book which is by the extext company is not able to dowload
Don't download 1/5
Makes me suicidal
Ebook doesn't show up on app 1/5
By Nickname for Reddit review
Only reason I downloaded this app was to use it for reading on-the-go. It's been a week now and my physics book hasn't shown up on my bookshelf. I bought my online access with ebook several days ago and opened it on my computer the same day, so it isn't something on my end. For the amount of money you guys charge, a working ebook app is the least you can do... I will update this review if they decide to contact me and fix my problem, otherwise 1/5 because there is no 0/5.
Won't even download 1/5
It just keeps circling and circling.....very disappointing...
My tax dollars waisted. I will definitely let my school board know not to waist their money with the next text books.
Expect for something more 3/5
The app works great when I first opened it and signed in. They show my book list in my Pearson account. Take a while to download one book and if you leave the app, it might pause or just stop downloading. I have to go back and stay at the app to complete downloading. I was trying to download my A&P book and Genetics e-book but then for some reason when I open the e-book for A&P, it's actually the Genetics book. =.=
I'm just speechless. How can they make such an app for e-book on ipad like this while everything was A LOT better when you access online.
I hope they update the app soon.
Pretty saucy! 5/5
Idk it's kinda cool to have this, anywhere on the go I've got my text book. When I'm walking, when I'm waiting somewhere even like when I'm at a party and I don't know anyone, I go "well, time for chemistry!" Issa cool app.
Good app 5/5
By The 7 cookies
Easy way to take me textbook with me evrywhere
Frustrating to navigate through the book since my eText is missing a table of contents. Support just hung up on me after I explained my problem.
Searching for books 1/5
It would be great if I can search for a book or have a tap to touch and have the downloaded books only instead of trying to scroll and find the correct textbook
I payed so much money on this ebook it won't even work properly 1/5
Your ebook is not working I missed my deadline
Does the Job 4/5
The app does the job that the title states it does. An e-reader for the Pearson books. Simple enough.
Works for me 5/5
I know this is not the case for everyone but the app works perfectly for me and is really convenient. Just ignore the bad rating and give it a try first because not everyone's experience is the same.
My honours biology teacher told the class that if any of us obtained trouble with the Pearson website, download the mobile application, and considering I am present now shows the application is nonfunctional as well. She states that there haven't been any problems in the past, but our classroom says otherwise. Not to "bash" the Pearson organization, but the customer service is as helpful as their electronic textbook, and the textbook only completely loaded the first three pages of chapter one.
Why can't I write notes on the books?!!!!!! We're living in 2017 and you can't add students basic needs to an app?!!!!
No video 2/5
Does not offer exercise video like the website does. Need to add it.
Shows my book 1/5
But downloading it reveals blank pages. 😑🙄
My books were easily downloaded but it's annoying seeing old books in my bookshelf that have expired. I don't want to sift through unnecessary books to find the ones I actually need for my classes. I should be able to delete them from my bookshelf or add the ones I need to a folder or to the top of the shelf. Please fix this.
Everything is just blank.
Mr Anticole said to rate 5 stars. Go physics.
Deletes every time I close the app 2/5
By Zips fedora
Every time i close the app my textbook deletes so I have to re download the app and the textbook every time i need to use it.
It works when it wants to 1/5
I downloaded my book and the pages are blank on my iPad Pro. I have the app on my iPad mini and I can read it there.
Found my book right away as long as you sign into your account..and bought the e text.
Works like a charm! 5/5
I nave not encountered any issues with this app. Downloaded a book in no time and it works just like a PDF file. Amazing!
No books ever available 1/5
On the Pearson website, you can look up what books are available on mobile. For the second semester in a row, the website says my book is available on mobile, but the app says it's not. Completely useless app -- if the book is available on MyLab, WHY can't I download it for my tablet?! Stupid!
Make finding your book easier 1/5
A search function should be built that enables the user to locate the book among many. Simple sort functions such as sort by downloaded/not loaded would also help. The app is amateur and needs a lot of work.
New update doesn't work 1/5
Fix the app and I will fix your review.... I have a deadline and need to access my textbooks. This is pathetic
"Download Book URL is not available for this book." 1/5
If you like the way that error message reads than this is the app for you.
Over five hundred dollars is what I've spent with Pearson, and not a single penny of it has made me feel like the process was worth just buying a paperback copy or just using an older version out of spite.
Text I was trying to use was Young and Freedman's "University Physics: 14th Edition".
No book? 1/5
I downloaded the app so I can read my chapters on the go. I have the e text reader for iPad, works fine. When I opened this app for iPhone 6S Plus, logged in ok but the program tells me my URL for my book is not available. Interesting, I can access the same book from the same app on one device but not the other? Maybe it's a licensing thing, I don't know. I do know this app is going to be an immediate delete once I press send on this review.

It's sad that I can't even access a book I paid $100 for on this app
New good, old bad 4/5
The new textbooks with eText 2.0 work fine and look good but the old ones are just PDFs which is terrible
Stuck in "Authenticating" 1/5
Trying to open my book to read a chapter and it's just stuck on authenticating. I've tried both with and without wifi so I know it's not my phone. Guess I should have spent the extra $80 to buy the hard copy of the book 😕.
No search capability 1/5
By Clay Whitaker
No way to look up terms or find a subject. You better know where you're going before using this app. The only thing you can do is read.
Book doesn't load. 1/5
This app is terrible. Will not load College Algebra book. It will show the book on the bookshelf, but it displays nothing when selected. Doesn't even load the table of contents.
Was able to download my eText with no problem. Easy to use!
Accessibility Suggestions 2/5
I downloaded the app reader because reading ebooks on the Pearson site is incredibly difficult to do with a visual impairment unless you've adapted to using audio books, which I have not. This app, however, is not much better, and here's why.
Using the two finger zoom option, you will not be able to zoom in very far, and it is easy to accidentally swipe to the next page while zooming. A solution to this problem could be to add a lock screen button to avoid this problem.
Another problem is the font size. There should be an option to enlarge text size to avoid the need to zoom in at all, which makes reading a chapter take almost twice as long as it should. My other text books have this option through a site called BryteWave.
I would appreciate if any of these changes could be implemented, even if it is implemented through a premium app option.
Was great for a while 1/5
By Disappointed student 😕
When I got the app it worked really great and was very useful for school. Sadly all of a sudden as soon as I touch the screen the app crashes. Would love this problem fixed ASAP. ☹️😤
So bad 2/5
I use eText 2.0 for my chemistry textbook
Pros: full text with video supplements that are pretty useful, very convenient to have considering the actual book is a HUGE loose-leaf text that barely fits in a 1 1/2 in. binder.
Cons: Absolutely no useful features beyond reading the text. A task as simply as highlighting is glitchy, there is no convenient way to organize bookmarks, page loads are slow, and the search engine is weak.
Pearson, if I'm going to pay you $200 for a single book, use some of it to fix your platform. Or move to a better one such as kindle.
No audio 1/5
By narrow soul
Got this for the ability to listen to the book like you can on the website. What good is an audio version of the book if you can't listen to it while you're driving/working out/don't have your book?
Useless 😩 1/5
I would give it zero stars if I could. I downloaded the app because I couldn't access my Ebook through the browser. My access code said I could access my book through any device. However, I can't. Then this app says the book isn't available for mobile. That's what student who buys a Ebook in 2017 what's to hear, that it isn't available for mobile. 😐
This title not available for Mobile 1/5
If the text is available on the web it should be available on the app. Period!!
Great app from Pearson 5/5
So entering my 4th trimester, I finally downloaded the Pearson app despite the low ratings and to my surprise, all my previous semester books were also on there when I logged in. It's a clean application and easy to access and use. Pretty impressed. Will definitely help with putting some time in reading the chapters since I have my phone with me all the time.
