Visually impaired 5/5
Great resource for my unique challenges. Almost flawless except lacking a high contrast theme( dark ).
FIX YOUR APP 1/5
Ever since you updated the app I can no longer access my chemistry book. It shows up on my bookshelf but I can not click on it to access it. Please fix this glitch or tell me how to work around this.
Does not show the text. 1/5
There are some chapters missing. I have the loose leaf but I’m trying to reduce the weight on my back, that is why I wanted the eText on my iPad. But it doesn’t work, the chapters doesn’t match the loose leaf or the eText on their website. The edition on my app is old. It’s pretty useless to me right now, unless they update it where I can access the book I paid for, in my iPad.
Miserable to navigate 2/5
The idea behind this app is great. I am a nursing school, and my books combine to over 3000 pages. I am so happy I don’t have to carry them around BUT this app doesn’t let you navigate very easily. It doesn’t allow you to directly go to a page. That is so unfortunate. Professors usually don’t say read chapter 1. They pick and choose sections and pages they want you to read, and this app doesn’t allow you to navigate through the book in that manner. I hope the fix this soon.
Worst Ereader ever 1/5
I had to use this for school and I’ve never encountered an ebook reader with such horrible navigation. The book I purchased has no chapters and 1200 pages. You can’t go to a specific page number and the bookmarks can’t be reordered. I’m extremely disappointed. I would have been better off pirating this overpriced material
Needs Improvement 1/5
My books never showed up. Waste of a download. Very disappointed.
Good e-reader 3/5
Works well. Allows highlighting, taking notes etc. Areas that could be improved: make it easier to get back to the last page you were reading (after scrolling back or ahead), and have an option to keep the brightness of the screen consistent. It’s frustrating to have it darken each time I pause to write a note.
Textbook resolution 4/5
For some reason, the resolution when in portrait mode is not very good, but when tilted into landscape mode, everything gets sharper. I’m not sure why this is, but it would be amazing to have a high resolution portrait mode. Thank you!
Good app 5/5
The app makes life easier.
Zero Navigation. A waste of time. 1/5
This eText is the biggest pain to use.
There is no easy way to read through the text other than Page by page. There is a lack of a navigate-able table of contents.
Using the search function is not a help. This is by far the worst ebook I have used, taking us back to the year 2001.
For the price we pay for eText, Pearson should feel embarrassed. Clearly they are more concerned with filling their pockets with money from students than delivering a quality product.
I’m surprised it works.
Highlight feature 5/5
I find highlighting text to be difficult. This feature needs improvements.
This app needs a way to hide textbooks you are not currently using. That or a separate “favorites” bookshelf in which only a users desired textbooks are visible.
As an instructor, I see at least 100 titles on my bookshelf. At the moment, I am regularly looking at 5 different books. There is no way to sort or filter these five books. I just have to scroll and hope I see the cover without passing the desired text.
Please fix this.
Not user friendly 2/5
There is no option, on the app, to show only active subscriptions and exclude the expired ones. The website does have this feature, but the app doesn’t. I don’t want to sift through all of my expired eTexts to find my active ones. The app should separate these to make it easier on the students. Support said there is a button on the app, but there isn’t. It’s only on the website. Please add this feature. It is also difficult to flip among the pages. Can’t we get a page scroll like Kindle and Nook?
Alright class turn to page 373 to start some problems 1/5
Oh wait too bad you can’t do that, can you. Best you can do is turn to page 300 and fingerblast your touch screen 73 times like a desperate Tinder user trying to score a date. Then you better pray to Jesus you don’t have to go back to the menu because guess what, you get to start that nonsense all over again.
TL:DR Please add two things: 1. A slider to go from page to page 2. An input box to select the page.
The reader is clunky and cluttered. For the price of the content they should be able to produce a much smoother reading experience.
Love the app till your last update 1/5
Since your last up date I can’t not access my online book on this app for my iPhone 6 pluse please fix
Deserves 0 stars 1/5
Purchased my books. Can't access them via app. Customer service rep was polite, but software issue was never resolved. I wished I didn't need this for school. Feel like this is a waste of money. So annoyed right now.
This is truly wonderful it took me 10 minutes to download each book and I could work on assignments from one book while another downloaded. This is so much simpler than having to drag around my laptop I can just pull my phone out and read away!! The only issue is that not all my books are there. So I’ll just look into that, but over all totally worth the time guys!
Should’ve never updated 1/5
By annoyed colleg student
I like the old version, at least that would let me read my books. Since the new update, I’ve been unable to open my books. It’s been two weeks since I update and the company still hasn’t sent out another update to fix this bug. This is why I can’t stand Pearson. :(
Frustrating to navigate through the book since my eText is missing a table of contents. Support just hung up on me after I explained my problem.
Book won’t download 1/5
The screen has been stuck on “syncing notes and bookmarks” for 30 minutes.
Horrible Update 1/5
By Shopping queen123456
The app was really great until this weird update. Now my book won’t load and I can’t highlight the info I want. Overall. a downgrade.
Doesn’t Work After the Update 1/5
I updated the app and now I can’t even open my text book. I’ve deleted and redone loaded my text book but I still can’t view my textbook. Please fix soon!

Can’t open any books
Can’t open book 1/5
I cant open my book, and it’s seriously messing me up.
Problem with rotate 5/5
Didn’t rotate screen on iPhone X, but on iPhone 7 Plus it’s work ok!
Please, correct it)!
Update is STILL unusable 1/5
The first update a little while ago refused to load my bookshelf. This new update seems to finish loading the bookshelf, but it won't show up unless I navigate to a different page and then back.
But then, I can't open my books! I tried deleting the book and re-downloading. It gets all the way to 99%, then says "syncing..." Then it says "no internet connection available" and the result is that the book is not downloaded. But I DO have an active internet connection.
Test your crap guys. This is A HORRIBLE way to start a new semester
Expired! Expired! Expired! 3/5
Allow us to remove subscriptions from the bookshelf all I see is "subscription expired." Let us select which ones we want to hide/delete.
VideoNote won’t play in the app 3/5
The eText works perfectly. However, I can’t play the video note on an iPad
page finder 1/5
really needs a page finder
Every time I try to login, it just cuts out of the app, a useless app to get, don’t download
Not user friendly 1/5
I have to use this app for school because we don’t have enough textbooks for everyone, but I can’t get any work done at home. I try to click on a diagram, and nothing shows up. I try going to the table of contents to click on the section I want, and all that loads is a blank white screen. This app needs some serious work done before it’s actually usable and efficient.
I wish the app could read the textbook so that you could listen while doing other activities.
Faulty Website 1/5
The only reason this app exists is because it's website fails to work properly
Not working 1/5
It’s annoying having to download the book every time you are going to read it. Today is not downloading. So I couldn’t read it. I deleted the app.
This is why our school system is in shambles, it uses a company such as this to delivery locked ebooks that are overpriced and require a special app to open and read the book. It might be ok if the app at least worked, but this app is garbage. Perhaps the developer should read some of the 300 dollar coding books, perhaps they tried using the first version of the app and that’s why we go this worthless upgrade
Good Ebook 3/5
I teach a surveying course. It works very well, however, it would be helpful to have Apple Pencil support.
Better than my school LMS integration, but missing key functionality 3/5
The Pearson integration into my school’s learning management system is horrid and provides a very small window view for the e-text. This app is leaps and bounds better than that and looks great on my iPad. But this app is seriously lacking in navigation. When I go to the TOC, only the first two sections are listed under each chapter even though there are many more sections available. Also there is no “go to page” feature. So the best I can do is use the table of contents to get to the second section and then flip through the pages until I get to where I left off in the textbook - possibly 30 or 40 pages! Also the timeout feature is very quick. If you leave the app to grab lunch when you come back you are back at the textbook selection screen instead of the page where you left off. Leaving you to painstakingly navigate back to your last page via the method I just described. I could do without a go to page function if at least the TOC was fixed to show the full TOC.
Can't get my textbook 1/5
The text book which is by the extext company is not able to dowload
Don't download 1/5
Makes me suicidal
Ebook doesn't show up on app 1/5
By Nickname for Reddit review
Only reason I downloaded this app was to use it for reading on-the-go. It's been a week now and my physics book hasn't shown up on my bookshelf. I bought my online access with ebook several days ago and opened it on my computer the same day, so it isn't something on my end. For the amount of money you guys charge, a working ebook app is the least you can do... I will update this review if they decide to contact me and fix my problem, otherwise 1/5 because there is no 0/5.
Won't even download 1/5
It just keeps circling and circling.....very disappointing...
My tax dollars waisted. I will definitely let my school board know not to waist their money with the next text books.
Expect for something more 3/5
The app works great when I first opened it and signed in. They show my book list in my Pearson account. Take a while to download one book and if you leave the app, it might pause or just stop downloading. I have to go back and stay at the app to complete downloading. I was trying to download my A&P book and Genetics e-book but then for some reason when I open the e-book for A&P, it's actually the Genetics book. =.=
I'm just speechless. How can they make such an app for e-book on ipad like this while everything was A LOT better when you access online.
I hope they update the app soon.
Pretty saucy! 5/5
Idk it's kinda cool to have this, anywhere on the go I've got my text book. When I'm walking, when I'm waiting somewhere even like when I'm at a party and I don't know anyone, I go "well, time for chemistry!" Issa cool app.
Searching for books 1/5
It would be great if I can search for a book or have a tap to touch and have the downloaded books only instead of trying to scroll and find the correct textbook
I payed so much money on this ebook it won't even work properly 1/5
Your ebook is not working I missed my deadline
Does the Job 4/5
The app does the job that the title states it does. An e-reader for the Pearson books. Simple enough.
Works for me 5/5
I know this is not the case for everyone but the app works perfectly for me and is really convenient. Just ignore the bad rating and give it a try first because not everyone's experience is the same.
My honours biology teacher told the class that if any of us obtained trouble with the Pearson website, download the mobile application, and considering I am present now shows the application is nonfunctional as well. She states that there haven't been any problems in the past, but our classroom says otherwise. Not to "bash" the Pearson organization, but the customer service is as helpful as their electronic textbook, and the textbook only completely loaded the first three pages of chapter one.
