Very focused on the past 4/5
By Hannah Marie 93
At the bottom, I wish it would allow users to scroll through days, rather than only letting users see past days. I want to see what I am doing tomorrow, because yesterday’s tasks can’t help me plan.
Excellent app 5/5
I would totally use this app if I didn’t have to spend so much money A+
Why not to pay for app 2/5
I have paid for this app and wish I didn’t. I would recommend using Reminders that come with your phone because the app does NOT allow you to customize the times when you choose to be alerted in morning, afternoon or evening. You have to click on Reminders in app to set a specific time. If you do yoga 5 days a week, you will have to set the Reminder (in app custom alert) 5 times.
I do yoga, 4 days a week at a particular time, I check my blood pressure 3 times a day 7 days a week at a particular time and I jog 4 days a week at a certain time. I had to customize the Reminders in the app 29 TIMES!!!
If you would like to be reminded at a certain time and have a lot of task, you have been warned. If your not a stickler for time, then you will like the app.
Used to be great, but not anymore 2/5
The old version of this app was great and easy to use. However, this newer version is a big let down. The constant ads are annoying and disruptive. I previously purchased the app and the new subscription service won't restore my purchase, so I paid for access that I no longer have....I'd consider paying the subscription fee again if the app itself wasn't so bogged down with useless pop-ups.
Too many upgrade Ads. 3/5
I don't appreciate this app constantly harassing me, to upgrade their app yes I get it you want everyone to upgrade and pay to better your app that makes sense. But I feel like it takes the fun out of the app as someone that is new to this application. With constant pop ups as I click through the app. As a user of the app and potential customer, I don't need to see contact reminders on upgrading I will appreciate it if they would draw back on the upgrade ads because I only need to see it 1 time to be reminded If i would like to upgrade or not. It's really annoying as a user and it makes me want to delete this app for how annoying it is. please draw back on this.Thank you.
Finally an app that actually motivates me to stick to my goals, whether they’re daily or yearly. I rarely write reviews on apps but I couldn’t not write one for this app. I wanted to give it 4 1/2 stars because my one complaint is pretty small but I either can’t figure it out or it’s not possible.
As I said, this app has helped with my motivation to get things done quite a bit. I’m usually a procrastinator but the idea of breaking a streak because I’m feeling lazy drives me crazy, which encourages me to just get it done. It’s a really great psychological trick and it’s really what sets this app apart from other reminder apps (and I’ve tried quite a few because right now I’m still writing my to-do lists and reminders on paper every day and I’m trying to get away from that and switch to my phone and other Apple devices.
As I said I do have one minor complaint, and it’s that you can’t add any notes or additional information until you’ve already completed the task. This frustrated me a couple times and left me having to keep the additional information in a separate app, which is not ideal. Pretty minor, but if it is possible and I’m just missing it could someone let me know? And if I’m correct about this... developers? :) could you maybe allow it in a future update? If Productive had that capability, it would be a 5 star rating from me.
Overall though I’d highly recommend it. I’m only still in my week long trial but I intend to keep the paid full version (totally a reasonable cost for a year which says a lot about how worth it the app is because I’m super cheap when it comes to any purchases, especially electronic ones).
So try it out, you’ve got nothing to lose. Try the upgraded paid version for at least the week’s free trial you’re offered to see if it’s worth it for you, too. And if it is, I think the cost for a year is pretty justifiable.
Nice app but subscription is ridiculous. 2/5
The user interface in Productive is laid out well and I actually prefer it to other apps like HabitBull but their subscription structure is ridiculous and I refuse to rent software rather than own it. This trend across the software industry is poisonous and in every instance that a developer has changed to a subscription only based fee structure I have sought an alternative app or, in cases like Adobe products, I’ve either downgraded to inferior versions like Photoshop Elements or have gone against my own ethical standards and pirated a piece of software because the developer took away my choice to own it. I hate piracy, and in the case of Photoshop I have learned to settle using Photoshop Elements rather than a pirated full version, but the amount of revenue Adobe and other developers have missed out on from me is substantial due to their own greed. I understand that some consumers prefer a subscription model and they should certainly have that choice but it should be a choice rather than a requirement due to the choice of ownership being taken from them. Back to Productive... I would have definitely bought it for $4 when it was that price but I just learned about it. I would gladly spend $10-$20 or even more to own it now but since it is now only available to rent I have chosen to use HabitBull as my daily habit tracking app. I guess developers of apps like Productive feel that the revenue lost from driving away customers like me is outweighed by the increase in revenue from their subscription only fees. It’s a depressing trend and one that I hope dies out in favor of both purchase and subscription choices being the standard. The sad thing is that I’d have never even considered writing this review had they given me a choice of purchasing or renting the app. I encourage every consumer to keep up the pressure on developers to offer that choice. The developers of Productive have lost me as a potential customer as long as they do not offer a purchase option but the next company has a choice. Do they want my money or not? Thanks for reading.
Promising, but some definite flaws. 3/5
I’ve been a premium user of this app for over 2 years and try to use it regularly, but it has a few flaws that don’t seem to be budging.
1. You can’t snooze a habit.
If you don’t get to a habit on it’s assigned day, you can either skip it or leave it incomplete. There’s no option to snooze for any amount of time (e.g., next day). A 3D Touch or long press on an active task to snooze until tomorrow would be great!
2. No option to hide completed habits.
If you have several habits on a given day (or in a given window, say, afternoon), there’s no way hide these. So you see your greyed out completed habits rather than those you have yet to do.
A simple toggle switch atop the interface to hide completed habits would solve this. Then if you wanted to view details or undo a completed habit, you could toggle the switch and do so, but by default, these should be hidden to avoid clogging up the interface.
3. Earlier incomplete habits vanish when the time window ends. (App badge and screen).
Say you’re running late, and some of your morning habits aren’t done by the time afternoon roles around. Those habits will vanish from the interface, and the badge icon counter for undone habits no longer includes them. There’s a small link to view them at the bottom, but if you have multiple prior periods (say it’s evening and you have a habit incomplete in both morning and afternoon), you have to view all habits, and this of course includes the completed ones (see above issue).
An option to always display incomplete habits after their time windows have passed would be much appreciated. The “do anytime today” is great, but there are tons of times users need “plan to do every morning, but even if the morning ends, I still want to do it”
4. No iPhone X support yet, but I didn’t dock points for this, it’s a new screen layout. Just would be nice (:
Great Habilt Builder 2/5
Great tracking tool but would if awesome if it was also iPad app.
Cool interface but not going to pay monthly 2/5
Why would you sell this as a monthly subscription? Just let me buy the app
For daily motivation. 4/5
If you just want to create daily habits and get on top of them. To get reminded to do this and that.
I like it, I use this instead of jotting down notes, this app makes it much more organized and sets priority to tasks you want to get done.
Upgrading Issues 1/5
By Brigette Renae
Every time I try to upgrade for unlimited habits, it says “Unable to make a purchase. Please try again later.” I’ve removed and downloaded the app several times trying to fix it and it won’t let me. The app seems awesome, but I need more than five habits.
My favorite so far but not perfect 4/5
I needed a habit app that lets me track AM and PM tasks. This fits the bill. It has great UI and pretty good UX. I like that I can also mark stuff done on my watch.
What it is missing and really makes me nervous is that there is no sync feature. What happens when I switch phones? Am I going to lose all my streaks?
I wish it had a web interface where I could use it online and feel all my data is safely backed up somewhere.
This is an awesome app!!! 5/5
This app is amazing. Thank you!
Non-premium is useless. Premium is expensive 2/5
Non-premium users are constantly asked to upgrade to premium. The marketing is die hard aggressive; John McClane would be proud!! The premium features are very expensive for what the user actually gets.
Good but glitchy. 4/5
I’ve been using this for over a week now and sometimes I skip habits for the day but it won’t reset the in a row counter for that habit the next day when I know I skipped that habit the previous day.
Overall an amazing app 5/5
The app is amazing to use and it’s really simple to use. I am curious if there is a way for it to automatically complete tasks based on health data. (For example: I have an app I use to track my water intake. I’m wondering if there is a way for it to automatically complete a task once I reach my recommended water intake for the day. ) its a small request, but if it’s too much of an issue don’t worry about it. 😊 (Just a recommendation)
Disappointing ripoff 2/5
By Taylor Swift <3<3<3
It’s a shame; I was so excited about this app until I discovered that you could only add 5 habits before having to pay an insanely overpriced subscription fee. Enjoyed it for all of 3 minutes; what a let down. Will be switching to a free or fixed-price alternative.
Measure Your Progress 5/5
The best app for tracking your habits. It's simple and easy to use. Once you have your habits scheduled, you spend little time in the app.
Love this!! 5/5
I love this app! Nice to see a sweet reminder to do the things I need to. And the add up feature is fun! Thank you guys for creating such a fun and important app!
I like it a lot but it would be better if you could set a specific time
Really enhances my day! 5/5
I had been looking for an app that would allow me to track my daily routines without having to re-create them or uncheck them every morning (like in a traditional to-do list app). Productive is exactly what I was looking for, and it’s beautiful layout and intuitive design exceed expectations. Thank you for an awesome app that truly makes a difference!
Can I set the time and date? 5/5
By Tracy Anderson
Mine is running one day behind. I love everything about this app except I cannot find where I can adjust a time/date. It is Saturday afternoon and my app is showing it to be Friday. I love in the US on Mountain Standard time.
i think that this app is amazing! it keeps me in track and keeps me thinking of the things i need to do. easy to read and know how to work. would definitely recommend to everyone who needs help to be reminded.
Not worth a subscription 3/5
It's reminders with icons. If it were a flat fee, it'd be worth it. But it's literally just the native reminders app with style. Don't spend money on that.
Easy use, great organization 5/5
Love this app, t hasn't been 2 hours since I️ used it yet! But it is very organized and very easy to use
Simple, effective, attractive 5/5
I'm a bit of a goals-app junkie, and this is my favourite that I've come across. Uncluttered and satisfying to mark your tasks as completely, and a pretty design.
Recent issues 4/5
Just recently, Productive sometimes gives me a black screen when I pull it up. I usually have to turn the phone off and on again to make this stop. I had no problems until maybe 2 weeks ago.
SO DISAPPOINTING AND UNRELIABLE 1/5
downloaded this app two years ago. After two weeks of perfect streaks, of daily habits, my data was reset in my streak was gone despite me diligently recording each habit. deleted the app, had trouble finding something else. Decided to give productive at try again. was going good until the same thing just happened--1 week perfect streak just gone after i deleted an unnecessary habit.
no idea why it's so unreliable. DEAR DEVELOPERS--you should provide a warning of what can negatively affect your streak. seems as if diligently tracking every habit that is due that day does not ensure accurate tracking of a streak
Subscription? For this? 1/5
Would have considered purchasing back when unlimited use was a one time purchase, but now that it’s subscription based, I’m immediately uninstalling and going back to other apps like HabitBull.
Perfect for ADHD 5/5
Changed my life so far. Absolutely wonderful for schoolwork, language learning and learning an instrument. 10/10. So simple, the developers did an amazing job. <3
Awesome app!!! 5/5
This app is a great way to set goals and ensure your success. Awesome UI and great user experience!
Just another money grabbing app... 1/5
Do they honestly think I’m gonna pay to use an app like this? It’s not even worth $1 a year to have all the features. I mean if you wanna throw away your money to the developer than by all means, but you’re seriously part of the problem.
Nıot working. 1/5
You cant add a task. Its not working
Awesome app! 5/5
I love this app. A new habit truly is a good way to change up your life. Super easy to use, customizable, and worth every penny for the premium.
Useless without premium 3/5
By Loading lillie
You can only have 5 habits or tasks without premium. And as someone who has a lot to do. It’s upsetting because it’s an amazing app with great features but pointless if I can only track 5 things.
Very nice 4/5
Great app. It strikes the right balance between features and simplicity. I like that I can skip days, if needed. Habits can be powerful and life changing, so I love the idea of the app.
The design isn’t a perfect match for me though. And I’m not into the subscription model. For that reason I decided to go with the Streaks app instead.
These are the makers of Balanced?! 1/5
What happened??? Balanced was way better for the price! It's the same app, only they took away a yearly reminder and added few other things that I can live without. Definitely not worth the price they are asking. How do you make an app, ask for a yearly subscription, but offer a worse product than before instead of a better one. Only the makers of this product will know.
For the $20 yearly updates I expect more bang for my buck. It is sad, really, that they've become so gready. Balanced had 5 stars from me and was essential, Productive is lucky it gets 1.
By This is my nickname <-----
I'm using this to track my schedule and make sure I get everything done before school. 🏫 I was also going to include more, maybe some reminders in the afternoon or before I go to bed... but I was only allowed 5 "habits" unless I got the full version.🙄 I was expecting some restrictions on this app because I was getting the free version, but really?😠 I think the number should be boosted up a bit to be about 10 or 15. If that was the case I world give it five stars, but seen as that's not true I can't. Otherwise I think this is a pretty good app, it's not Minecraft but hey it's not meant to be a game either! 😜
Great app! 5/5
By Heheyfshdidvs jehczhd
Love this app! It keeps me accountable and motivated.
Great way to make use of the time that I have and the habits that I want to form in said time! Thanks
Recently very pushy with advertising 3/5
Productive has been my go to habit tracker for some time but the most recent updates have started pushing hard for upgrading to pro as well as little pop up alerts asking you to try other apps. It’s not game breaking and you might not mind it at all, but it’s just become a little annoying for me.
Ease off!! 1/5
Good app, but the free version almost hatefully throws push message ads at you, stealing focus, killing UX and making this a paid app, not free trial. The free version’s aggressive, spammy ads for other apps are reasons for one star. Maybe someone will see and tone it down. Prob not
This app is great and worth $1.99 once 3/5
Not monthly. I pay $9 a month for Netflix. Why would I pay $4 a month for this? Come on people. Get real.
Functionally good but annoying upgrade prompts 3/5
I started out really liking this app - it was easy to add habits and it had nice defaults. However after several weeks I’ve been getting really annoyed with the prompts to purchase/upgrade. Even though I dismiss to indicate I don’t want to, I’m repeatedly shown pop ups and banners. This has made a nice useful app quite annoying, and I’m looking for alternatives.
Excellent, but no worth for that price 1/5
By Dongho Lee
I like this app and use for a long time. However I am looking for alternative app now.
Because I am very disappointed recent change, especially the price. The subscription fee is $19.99 per year with 58% discount. :(
Who thinks this is reasonable?
I have to say goodbye my old good friend, productive! Bye!
By Catherine Ullman
This app is really easy to use and is way better than any other method I have tried.
Love it! 5/5
Life changing app if you are a forgetful person like me. Get it and there will be zero regrets!
Great app 5/5
I love this app- simple and easy to add new habit. I use it daily to track my meditation, exercise habit, diary, etc.
Amazing App, easy to use, and helpful 5/5
By Katie Baron
Very easy to use and so helpful as a mom of 2 who is constantly being distracted lol
